Reviews on Honda of the Avenues

I bought this car from Honda of the Avenues about 15 months ago.  While I didn't like the sales approach, they did give me a good deal and also included maintenance.   So here I am for a periodic  maintenance visit.

Today, no lines!  It was easy to just to drive up to the quick service line and drop the car off for service.   They told me it would take about an hour.   And in about an hour, the rep came by and told me the car was done.

So 5 stars for being prompt.
2 stars for the dealership itself.   The waiting area is just ok.  They have a TV in the area but on some dealership channel.   Either way, I had work to do so I just sat in one of the cubes to make some calls and do some e-mails (with my machine).

Bottom line is that it isn't the greatest of dealerships but they do have free water and popcorn for you and a decent area to do some work.

Not your typical service call as I stopped by to have the lug nut locks taken off my Odyssey. It's an old van and I seem to have lost my key and they removed them for free and place a normal lug nut in its place.

This isn't even the location I purchased the vehicle so huge thanks!

On 11/21/2014, I purchased a used 2003 Honda Odyssey EX from Lorenzo (I don't recall his last name) in sales. He was very helpful after he acknowledged my presence. Initially, he seem to be preoccupied. Anyway, long and short of things, I had read all the negative reviews of Honda of the Avenues and had pretty much decided that based I what I was reading, I'd never give them my patronage. But, I decided that after all the crappy service I was used to receiving from Duval Honda on Cassat, I had nothing to lose and perhaps something to gain. To my surprise, I had a good customer service experience with my sales representative Lorenzo and the finance director, Apollo Folks. It was a pleasant buying experience and I believe my next new Honda will be purchased from Lou Sobh's Honda of the Avenues.

So first off, I have both bought and leased multiple cars from Honda of the Avenues. Well, never again! I went into the dealership on Friday looking to trade in my current car and lease a new Honda. Well after I played the waiting game, Lee Roy - a lazy, inexperienced, and supposed "sales person" - returned to tell me they would give me $20,000 less than current market value of my current car. I was shocked. Yes it is a rare car that was being traded but after hearing that amount for the trade in value, I knew they were going gouge me by lowering the trade in value, hike up the price later to sell it, and then in return make a huge profit. Needless to say I grabbed my remote/keys, told Lee Roy that's ridiculous, and left without even hearing what he had to say. I then went to 4 other dealerships and all of them offered me more than $4500 over the current market value of the car. So lesson learned: buyer beware. Watch your butt when trading and buying/leasing a car from Honda of the Avenues. The dealership has changed drastically for the worse after the previous GM and all the good sales people left. I will always go to Duval Honda and any Duval Group Dealership in the future as I have always had amazing experiences with any Duval Group Dealer.

By far the worst customer service. When Evin the new car sales manager doesn't know how to deal with an unhappy customer and gets offended for a few curse words due to disappointment and he just said "I'm done with you!" while turning around and walking away, that's lack of professionalism and poor customer service etiquette.

Unless you like dealing with unprofessional and rude managers don't go here. And if you don't already have your loan approved by your bank don't plan ok working with a friendly financial specialist either...Lucious is the definition of rude and disrespectful. Never felt do belittled and insulted by someone who has little to nothing to do with a problem someone is having with the vehicle itself not anything to do with the financial aspect of the contract.

Too bad I have to give them even one star..
Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced! We called ahead and asked if a car was there and they said yes and that they would pull it up front. When we got there everyone acted like they didn't know what we were talking about. As well as the employees hanging out outside that would not help us. They then made a comment to me that my fiancée was rude. Excuse me? We pulled up to get help buying a new car. Don't be standing in the middle of a car lot in uniform if you don't want to sell cars! They pulled a 2015 up for us not the one we wanted. Trying to upsell? No you just lost a sale...

Took my CRV here for oil change and to check out a small problem with sun roof. I was told all other fluids needed changing and I declined. So they billed me for 2 hours labor to check out sunroof to determine the tracks were dirty and the switch needed to be replaced.  Replacement part would be 200+++ so again I declined. Would never have service there again.  All I needed was oil change and they should have suggested rotating tires. Never never.

Mr. Bobby Howard is my service adviser. Hilarious man.

The service department is quite friendly and I've been coming here for about 3 almost 4 years now. They have never disappointed me and have yet to persuade me to do something my car "needs." They work around my schedule and always have the courtesy shuttle ready for me if I need to be dropped off somewhere near by.

It's quite clean dealership, has complementary snacks, fruits, and coffee for customers. Comfy waiting area, with a nice tv that displays appropriate shows. The kids area isn't even sticky each visit.

Great place, a few people that aren't so friendly, but you encounter them everywhere you go. Just have to disregard it and stay happy.

Really disappointed with Lou Sobh's Honda of the Avenues. Bought a CRV from them a few weeks ago. At the time the tire pressure light was on and our sales guy, Leroy Love, told us it was just due to the cold. Well turns out it was because there was a nail in the tire. We took it back to have them look at it, and they refuse to fix it for us. Apparently $80 is more important to them than positive word of mouth and future vehicle purchase. Shame...

I sincerely wish I could write a good review. But its definitely not happening with this one. I have been looking for a car for a very long time now. I finally found the car I wanted. I was dealing with an 'internet sales manager' at Honda of the Avenues. Emails, phone calls back and forth for a few months. Finally, we agreed on a price. I came into the location, gave my deposit, and customized my car. I was told it would be ordered and scheduled to arrive in about a month. (This was in September). I received a couple of emails following up; one stating my order was placed and scheduled to arrive month end(October), the second following up stating my car was slated and ready to arrive month end-October. Last week, I called and left a message inquiring if everything was still on track. I never heard back. I emailed, with no response back. Today, October 31st, I called again only to find out that the person I had been dealing with was no longer  working there and there is no car. The 'manager' proceeded to tell me the car would now be in the end of November!!! I am so frustrated. They have wasted my time and patience. Here I am sitting waiting, excited for my car to arrive and it was never even on its way. There is no car. No order was placed. The manager seemed to be frustrated with my frustrated response. I was told it was scheduled to arrive the 29th-30th. Well, it is the 31st, so what is the excuse now? No ownership was taken for them dropping the ball. Even if this person is no longer working there, isn't the manager or SOMEONE supposed to be taking over and following up with orders and shipments? Im sorry but aren't you working in customer service? The service I received was horrible! I am beyond upset about this experience. What a waste of time. I do believe everything happens for a reason and I am glad that I don't have to deal with this place ever again! NEVER will this place EVER receive my business. EVER.

We were low balled. Could not believe the price! $ 5000. Off. Kept us in the seat. Then the up-sell started. Told them we had cash. Cash did not fit the up-sell. They would not stop. We got up and walked out.

I am a long time Honda fan, I have had so much success with these cars hard to buy anything else.
And yes, I have noticed the improvement in the look of Ford and Chevy, but when it comes right down to writing the check...just too expensive for me to take any risks, so Honda it is again.
I spent several hours in this dealership yesterday and I have to say I really like the people there.
Car salesmen are people that we seem to recoil from, yet, at the Aves they have managed to recruit some really sharp people.

I would even consider working there, something that I have not said about any car dealership in 30 years....
