I have never been treated worse at a car dealership. I wanted to look at and test drive a vehicle, with the intention of purchasing in 2-3 months. I research extensively, and this vehicle was only the second one on our list of possibilities. The salesman was at my own vehicle nearly before I had a chance to get out of it, asking what we were looking for. We told him, and he brought us inside, where two of them were in the showroom. We have lots of questions when we visit car dealers, but this guy couldn't even answer the most basic questions.. like what colors the car came in, or what interior colors were available. The models in the showroom are basic trim packages, but I made it clear that I was looking for an upgraded package, including Navigation. He then brought us to another vehicle in the showroom, still without nav. This one had colored lights though! Too bad the battery was dead... We then asked if we could test drive one, specific to our trim package. He made us sign a piece of paper that had the language 'I give the dealer permission to run a credit report'. I had an issue with that, and told him in no uncertain terms that I did not give permission for a credit pull. He then made a condescending statment to the effect that I had no idea how credit worked, that they couldn't do anything with just a DL number. I'm aware of that, but I still took issue with the wording. He then took our drivers licenses and made copies. When he came back with them, he told us that the manager had declined our test drive because it was a busy Saturday. We were the only customers in the place, with at least 4 salesmen standing around. But we were welcome to come back during the week. We just looked at him, stunned. He then got upset when I asked for the 'credit report' sheet that I had signed, our drivers license copies, and the note of our names and phone numbers that he had just written down. I'm sorry, but if you can't even answer a simple question like what colors the car comes in, or allow a test drive, how on earth can you sell a car?
