Reviews on Vehicle Stars

I cant believe i feel for this.
They sweat talk you into saying that they have a offer for you already. Someone on craigslist always say your listing and contacted Vehicle Star. Which is complete BS.
They tell you that its 100% refundable. I'm already in 6 weeks into getting my refund back, but nothing. These guys are true fraud artist.
These guys should seriously be locked up for doing fraudulent business.

I used them to try to sell a car thinking "it's a guaranteed refund, what can go wrong?". Turns out everything. I didn't get one contact on my vehicle, I never could get in touch with my service rep who was supposedly actively marketing my vehicle. After the time frame it was guaranteed to sell in, the refund process was supposed to take 4 weeks. it took 6 months and a letter from an attorney to get a partial refund & I never received the full amount. The initial check they sent was made out to the wrong person for a different incorrect amount, so it took another month to get the correct check.

Total scam.

TOTAL SCAM! Listed with them, saying they GUARANTEE that they will see my car within the first 3 weeks, and if they dont within 90 days...they will give me my money back. Well two weeks go by, then 4 weeks, then 3 months WITH NO CALL BACK. I had to call them for any follow-up. Terrible customer service! Then when it came time to getting my money back that they GUARANTEED, they put up a fight and argue with me saying that I didn't live up to the contract - which I did. Now it is my mission to put them out of business.

I signed up with them, I wish I didn't.

I want to sell my car but if I sell it using another service they still get $500, for doing nothing and they are doing nothing. Their site dose not even rank under keywords in google, people would type when looking for a used car.

These guys have figured out how to legally scam people out of their money.

Don't ever use them, unless you like giving your money to Jerks with no scruples. You would be better of giving $500 to charity and punching yourself in the face 10 times, that would make you real better than these scammers.

I took all my anger and put it into make a website about these scammers, the website is . Please feel free to contribute to it. I want to bring these guys down.

I also discovered they where formerly named: Automotive Marketing Group and Auto Seller Network, which both have terrible reviews on Yelp and should all be merged.

Additionally I discovered that Vehicle Stars is actually operating out of Canada on Columbia St, in West Minister British columbia.

What ever you do, DO NOT use this company!  They are liars and will promise you every thing while doing nothing like they have done for me the last 7 months.  Do not let the incompetent Michael Schure, Steven Collins, Michael Brooks, Stacey Evans, Jennifer Roth, etc. decieve you!  The receptionist are proficient at only putting you on hold and that is it.  All of the sales reps are even better at finding a manager who is even better than they are at NOT solving problems or selling cars.  This company let me along for 7 months! I did every thing they asked of me; sent them the specs on the car, sent pictures, agreed to not sell my vehicle from underneath them.  I sent them the notarized refund document that they conveniently lost, all while they promised to sell my vehicle.  Never happened! They are liars and good at taking money they have not earned. RUN THE OTHER WAY!

***SCAM SCAM SCAM****This fly by night company just contacted me out of the blue offering to help me sell my car! Blah Blah.... it says on the craigslist add that I don't want solicitations.

A little research and it is evident that these guys are out for a quick buck and from all accounts have helped exactly zero people!!!

Vehicle Stars is a BIG...FAT...JOKE! Do NOT do business with these idiots! Like other people on this website, I posted my car for sale on Craigslist, Vehicle Stars called me, did a nice bait and hook move, and got my $499.00!! At first, I gave Vehicle Stars a chance and told them to provide me PROOF of their company's legitimacy and PROOF of what they are doing for me. They could not provide ANYTHING! gets better...they never responded to me in email as to have nothing in writing! The most upset thing was the fact that all Vehicle Stars did was CUT & PASTE my Craigslist post onto their WEBSITE!

They kept calling me and saying "we can provide you proof". Well then send it to me in scanned pdf files to my email you have on file then!!! After a week of Vehicle Stars avoiding my emails and being extremely non-responsive, I filed all the things I could against them. I filed a complaint with BBB, I reported Vehicle Stars to my Minnesota State Attorney General Lori Swanson (she is great, really helped by informing me of state laws and sending letters to Vehicle Stars non-stop, contact your State Attorney General and file a consumer complaint against this pickpocket company!), and I went to talk to a lawyer and see what options I have (one of his recommendations was to file a police report, which I could have but just didn't). I followed Vehicle Stars STUPID refund guidelines exactly by posting a picture up by the first day and all that crap, so I emailed them telling them to verify that I have met all there dumb guidelines! (They never responded to that email and won't). This was all by the 2nd week of signing up with these bozos!

I bank with Wells Fargo and I have a credit card through them which I used. I called Wells Fargo's credit card dispute services and they did NOTHING! They just stated "you have to follow Vehicle Stars guidelines to get a refund..." which just pissed me off since I've been a customer with Wells Fargo since 2004! I have officially closed a majority of my accounts with Wells and will finish everything off once I establish my new account at Affinity Plus Credit Union! Wells Fargo....thank you for showing me that you don't give a rat's behind about the little guy.

But good news....I GOT MY $399.99 REFUND on my credit card back! I signed up with Vehicle Stars on July 18th, 2011 and got my partial refund on Sept. 6th, 2011. That's about 2 months into it! I got ripped off $99.99 bucks but at least I got some money back from these crooks. I tried to fight for getting ALL my money back but i only prevailed with the $399.99 refund. I did not send in ANYTHING. I just complained like crazy and, out of the blue, noticed my card refunded a couple days ago. The refund policy is a JOKE! Jumping SEVErAL hoops just for a partial refund. THERE IS HOPE FOR YOU VICTIMS! Keep complaining and you'll get your refunds! File with all the agencies you can to harass Vehicle Stars about their tactics and lies. WARN everyone so no one falls for Vehicle Stars!

WARNING! Vehicle Stars is a piece of turd of a company and whatever you do, do NOT give them your credit card info! If you do, you'll be in deep doo like the rest of us. I feel sorry for those who can't get a refund. $500 is a lot to lose. I'm grateful to have only lost $100. How ironic.

Absolute bait and switch.  They told my wife that they would sell our car *for us* within two weeks or our money back 100%; they also said that we would get our money back completely if we sold the car on our own.  They promised more than that, but in any case after we paid them, we were given a completely different "service".  The link that Bruce posted to the BBB indicates that's pretty much how they operate.

Turns out that they are just a crappy website for posting your ad on, WHICH by the way has been down at least ALL DAY Saturday.  Before that, features on the website like the "search" functionality have been broken.  In any case, this is not the service we were promised, and in addition their Nazi "refund" policy is total BS and unlike anything they said over the phone - total scam!

Here is a link showing their crappy broken search:
Here is another one that shows their website downtime:…

If you look up who is running their website's server, it's obvious that it is just some dummy running it out of their basement.  The server address resolves to a Canadian cable company's residential IP block:

DNS "A" record:…
ARIN netblock for that IP (Shaw cable):…

Call your credit card company and file a chargeback!

I'm doing a full writeup that I hope to post on The Consumerist.  Look out, you Vehicle Stars scumbags!

0 Stars!!!
Does not follow through on anything that they promise.  They will gladly take your money and pretend to try to sell your call by advertising it on their website, but never follw up with the client, or let them know if their is any interest from anyone to purchase your car. Basically they charge you money, wait for your contract to end, and try to make it as hard as possible to get your money back.  They are very vague about what their contract terms mean, and my sales contact was always conveiniently unvailable to answer questions regarding the sale of my vehicle.  I am still awaiting my refund that they owe me!!!
