Left me in the cubicle for 2 hours alone while everyone who was "working"watched the game! Finally send me away for presumably they could finish watching the game...said they would call me the next day...nope no phone call! How is this dealer still in business???

I dealt with salesman, Claudio Gomez under the Costco discount program. He did not honor the prices we discussed on the phone and made changes and got creative with financing. In the end I wasted my time and went to Vista VW and bought my car there.
Also I fell for the yeah we have the car you want at the port line. That was on me.

I went in for service on my car (dead battery).  After being told that a new battery would cost me close to $200, I decided maybe i should just end my lease a month early, and look at new cars.  I went into the main floor and have to admit it was a slow start.  I looked around, opened a few car doors, looked inside, walked around some more, got coffee, looked around cars a bit more....all the time hoping someone would acknowledge me, but no one asked me anything.  i finally went back to the service dept. and asked the yound lady there to get me some help in the sales dept.  She walked me over to the receptionist , who then called Chris.  Chris was awesome.  I told him exactly what i wanted and i even  told him i was in a hurry.  I walked out of the dealership within my time limits, with a new car, and happy.  Although, my experience was slow at first, Chris made up for it in the end, and i left with an overall positive experience.

I went to True Car to get a price on a GTI. Due to that submission, Gunther called me. Told them what I wanted, she said no problem. Got me the pricing I wanted. I explained my time was limited she told me no issues she would get EVERYTHING done. I was clear on the car I wanted and sent her the True Car certificate.

When I get there, they had the pricing they promised alright. ON A BASE MODEL GTI. She said it was a "mistake". Had me sit in the dealer for 2 hours while they got me pricing on the right model, which was NOT WHAT THEY PROMISED.

They REFUSED to honor True Car Pricing.
They LIED and tried to bait me with a car that wasnt what I wanted.

I EMPHASIZED about how I wanted everything done by the time I got there, sent over my credit app, got approved, but they tried to deceive me.

NEVER AGAIN AM I GOING TO GUNTHER. This is my 5th VW and I will make sure not to buy from them ever.

Julian is by far the best salesman because he's not really about the sàle and more about meeting your needs. We both have backgrounds in service and hospitality industry so we were on the same page from the start. I got the car 2 weeks ago and went back today for my rear tint installation. When he came to get me, I couldn't believe that the job was done before the quoted time. The car was already running and waiting outside the door. Please ask for Julian when you stop by this dealership. You won't want to go anywhere else. I have had my share of deceptive salesman at other places and this guy is the only honest guy in the industry. Thank you Julian!

Purchased a used vehicle that was overpriced due to Gus Menchaca sales tactics. Once in his office he never explained exactly all the fees and what was the sale price of the car. He just said work with the bottom price while he left a lot of blank spaces on the contract. We went back and forth on the sale price for a while and after an hour of them holding my trade in keys, being pressured, not having the correct figures in front of me. Did the deal.  After I noticed they used my trade in to bring up the sale price of the car. Ended up paying $4000. + More than I should have. Also they said all the maintenance was done on the car, It wasn't according to the dealer they took it too. Missing $600. Worth of 30,000 mile service. They were nice enough to change the battery, they topped of the tank and we're going to touch up the car. I had purchased another car from Gunther Mazda 3 years ago, but will not go back. they have lost my business for good. The first Generation Gunther Family would not be pleased.

I brought my VW CC 2013 in for a new set of keys. Called in advance and learned about the price. Did not need to make an appointment, went in and someone took care of me in 15 mins. Was not expecting to have my one year service done that day, but they offered so I did (which was free btw). Everything was done in the time frame promised. Will definitely come back!

This is long overdue since I leased my 5th Beetle today! My love affair with the VW Beetle started as a kid because my grandpa had a '69 powder blue Beetle. He would put me on his lap and let me "drive" . So in  2002, I decided to get my own. Like most car shopping experiences, I spent several hours at the dealership but ended up leasing a Beetle and then another in 2005, 2008, and 2012.  They're great little cars on gas mileage and I love the German engineering.  

What's better is the relationship I have developed with Robert Cajigas in the finance department. He's worked with me on all of my cars. He's honest, responsive,  efficient, and all around a good guy.  He's the first person I reach out to when my lease is up.  He gives it to me straight and I don't have to haggle or waste any time. I can't say enough good things about him.

I wanted to buy a VW GTI. My mind was made up. I mean, the car sells itself. I had gone to the shiniest dealership in the area looking for one. I test drove the vehicle and thought: "I love it." Being a cautious buyer I thought it would be a good idea to shop around. That's when I found Gunther VW. When I got there I was torn inside about buying from the shiny dealership or from the family owned one. I asked myself: "Where is the best value?" And then I met salesman Jon. We had a long conversation about the car and about pricing. I didn't feel like he was trying to sell me a vehicle, but that he was looking out for me. Long story short, even though the shiny dealership guaranteed to beat any price by a significant margin, I felt that I would be getting the most value from Gunther. I was not wrong. After buying the car, I went back with a misbehaving iPhone cable and Jon treated me with the same respect and warmth as the day before I bought the car. As far as I'm concerned, Jon is someone I can trust. In my book, that trumps everything else every time.

I leased a car through this dealership in 2011. Per the recommendaiton of the finance person I worked with, I purchased Excess Wear & Tear coverage that should have covered things like tires, dents, scratches,etc. when it came time to turn in my lease.  Over the last year I received an exorbitant amount of calls from different (RUDE) salespeople and marketing companies from Gunther asking me to turn my car in early and get a new one. I asked several times for them to remove me from this list and stop calling me.  They didnt stop.  I was so fed up, that I ended up turning the car in a few months early to Rick Case VW in Weston.  A few weeks later I receive my excess wear and tear bill and submitted the claim to the company that handled that additional coverage.  A week later I get a notice in the mail that they are denying paying for the wear and tear because I turned my lease in 98 days earlier than it was up and there is some fine print that says they dont have to pay if it is over 90.  The finance guy who sold me this coverage never mentioned anything like this and I CERTAINLY would have waited an extra week to turn my car in had I been properly informed.  I called and complained and had to go back into this place to "cancel for a pro-rated refund".  Well after the $50 fee that is charged for cancelling, I am not getting anything back and am now stuck with this $600 bill.  The finance person's (who was the same one who sold this to me) response was that he was "sorry this happened" and said if i would have brought the car back to them, this wouldn't have happened.  Even after explaining about the harrassing sales calls and the rudeness of the salespeople making me not want to do further business with them, he said there was nothing he could do.  I will NEVER purchase another vehicle here and advise anyone else who is considering it to be wary of the shadiness of this business.  They are a perfect example of what gives car salesmen a bad rep.

I previously complained about being overcharged and poor service I 've received from Gunther Volkswagen. Since then I've contacted the district office who directed me back to the manager at Gunther who explained that the person who handled the who whole thing had other complaints and was no longer there. He also refunded my money. So I take back what I said and would like to add that this people do want their customers to be happy.

We went to look at the new VW Golf to see if my husband fit in it, as he is very tall.  We dealt with Alan, who started off helping us to find the car.  Things went downhill when he lost his patience with me and snapped at me - because I asked him if he might have the wrong key for the car we were looking for.  He opened the car for us - on this sweltering hot day - and disappeared into the building due to a "skin thing".  That's fine, but with no A/C we couldn't really look at the car for long.  And I wasn't even done looking before he came out, locked it up, and shook our hands goodbye.

My plan wasn't to buy a car right then - but he rushed us right out the door.  Didn't even build a rapport.  Well, it turned out that we needed a new car and bought one yesterday.  Missed sale, and poor customer service from someone who self-proclaimed "I've been in this business a long time."  I won't be buying a VW from this location and will definitely not recommend it to anyone.

All I know is I had seen a Kia Soul on Sunday that I thought my wife would love at this place. Julian who was my sales person was both extremely nice and professional. He actually saved it for us until Thursday when she was off. Previously we had gone into Rick Case but after sealing with a Very pushy and rude that day I took Jody back to Gunther. Julian showed her the Soul, she loved it and we were out with in 2 hours. Not only was Julian a great salesman but he kept deferring to my wife knowing that the car was for her NOT me. He even filled up BOTH cars gas tanks. This is our second car we have bought from Gunther and are vey Satisfied.

Just bought a car I've been wanting for a long time and had a great experience and deal thanks to Yogi Gunther!

As a car enthusiast, I have been through my fair share of vehicles and Yogi has been without a doubt the best car salesman I've ever dealt with. This says a lot about him considering he's in his mid 20's. He never gave me the typical sales' lies and crap you normally have to deal with when normally buying a car. He was honest, confident, experienced and was very easy to talk to. The car they sold me (2013 Golf R) is very rare and not a car you normally can get a good deal on. He was able to work with me financially to get me the best deal possible.

As a U.S. Marine, I can say that Yogi possesses the leadership skills that are instilled in the military. Yes, leadership skills.. What I mean by this is that he was in FULL control of the sales process, even though the deal we agreed on required negotiation and approval from his superiors. He went out of his way to get me the best deal he possibly could. I'm very happy to say that the Gunther staff takes care of the military!

This has been the 2nd time I've purchased a vehicle from Gunther and thanks to Yogi, it won't be my last. I highly recommend any serious buyer to go see Yogi at Gunther VW!

This dealership is absolutely terrible and extremely over-priced in the parts and service department. On many occasions, they quoted me WAY more than they should. The last time that I called for a part here, I was looking for a gasket in which they told me was $120. I called Vista Volkswagen in Pompano, and the same gasket was $25 there! I recommend Vista or Street & Sand Volkswagen Parts.

Now, I don't know if this has something to with this being a German car dealership and me being a Jew, (after-all, they do look me up in the computer by [very Jewish] last name when I call), but I wouldn't buy a keychain from Gunther. Vista it is!

No appointment necessary. Drive in and you'll be taken care of professionally. There is a television in be waiting area, free Wi-Fi, and a gourmet coffee machine (free). If you want to work with a laptop there is a quite room next to the waiting room.

So as you can see, the internet marketing manager for Gunther VW was concerned with my plight. I took the car back and everyone was very nice and apologetic and I got the "red carpet" treatment. They tracked down what was wrong and fixed it, happy ending? No. Another 2 days and the check engine light came back on. This time I just didn't have the time to be bothered with these people, so we let it be for about 2-3 months until my wife was getting overly concerned. So I took it back, at least expecting some sort of apology. No, although I didn't have to deal with Jimmy which is a bonus. I went in at around 2, watched the white smoke billow out of the Sistine Chapel signaling a new pope. Then watched as the pope gave his first "howdy" and then as the newscast subsided, was treated to Dr. Oz, or some other daytime television crap.
Keep in mind, that my clients are billed about $240/hr while I sit in Gunther VW Service not able to do anything or go anywhere. Around 5:00 I was asked if I could get a ride home, obviously the answer was no. Even if the answer had been yes, I was not going to inconvenience another human being on behalf of these a-holes. They reluctantly sent me home in a courtesy shuttle, that sped through the residential neighborhood behind the dealership at around 40 mph, irritated that he was not going to get back before 6. "Bummer" I thought, as I pondered the amount of life taken from me in that waiting room.
The next day, I was given a quote of $387 for some sensor that was DEFINITELY the problem and the labor to install it. "Will this definitely fix the issue?" I asked no longer even caring that they'd never originally fixed the problem, but hoping throwing money at it would make it go away. "Yes", they said. "OK do it".
The following day, I went to pick up my car. After about 20 minutes of waiting, I got my receipt. $697. Amazing. So I asked WTF? and was given a bit of runaround. Meanwhile, I'd watched our previous hero, Jimmy, tell a guy "tough sh$t" over his bill being higher than estimated. In that case it was only $30, so I guess not enough to complain about, but since my new service mgr was not available, Jimmy had to handle my bill as well.
Well, this has been a very long story, and the conclusion is that it took me over an hour on a Saturday to pay my bill (after the additional $200 had been taken off), and about 6 hours later the check engine light came back on.

Never wrote a followup, but actually had a pretty good sales experience here in November of 2011. Your mileage may vary given past negative experiences here, but worth trying if you are looking for a new VW in South Florida, since most car dealers here are horrible anyway. Service department remains absolutely excellent, and will go hands on to handle any challenges with your car.

Fan-frickin-tastic Service! Initially I had my doubts however after the wait, I was extremely satisfied by the professionalism and over-the-top service. Joe Pender gets a 6th star if I can fit it in. okay, took my husbands vw passat in for an oil change. can't go to many places like jiffy lube for vw cause they dont have the tools? anyway, gunther vw in ft lauderdale (again ron wasnt there) hit him up for all the stupid things they try to add on just to get money. the car doesnt need a thing. makes me sick to see that its out of warranty and they try to tell you it needs brake pads and the coolant system needs rinsed out. we got the oil change ONLY, my husband got upset WHICH TAKES ALOT CAUSE HES SWEET, and he bought a VOLVO two days later. we didnt replace the passat, but VW should have been nicer or he would have purchased a new VW instead.  can't judge a car buyer who's driving a car thats five years old.  some of us want to drive little cars by choice. some of us drive them for a long time. shame shame gunther vw.
