Apparently the last scheduled service that they allow is 3pm, because they're off at 4pm. It's great for employees, but for car owners that work or have children you have to choose to miss work or possibly the kid's weekend sporting events.  

I don't mind taking my car somewhere else for an oil change, but a manufacturers recall basically ties my hands.

Take these things into consideration when buying your car, because every car requires service.

I received a call from Carl Leung with regards to my interest in purchasing a 2015 Kia Soul while I was in the process of negotiating a price for the same car at Premier Kia in Fremont.  I walked away from the deal at Premier Kia because they did not have the car I want in stock.  Instead, they tried to sell me a car that I did not want with added features and slightly over my budget.  Furthermore, they told me that since I was a first time car buyer my interest rate would be 6.9% without running a credit check.  So I was aggravated.  To make it worse, the sales man I dealt with said "be nice to people out there" as I walked out of the door.  As if I wasted his time.  It is more like KIA PREMIER wasted my time and now I am the bad guy.  So Carl came to the rescue.  I called Carl at Capitol Kia back.  I told him to look for a 2015 Kia Soul and named my price.  He was able to get me a great deal with a great car and lots of added features.  CAPITOL KIA has a great selection of cars.  The dealership is very clean, professional, and friendly.  They even made me coffee and brought it to me.  Great service, great selection, great price, and great sales consultants!  Carl Leung was honest, professional, easy to work with, and knowledgeable.  If you need a car, talk to Carl.

Customer service goes out the window after making a purchase at this dealership. Stay away! I've attempted to reach out the the sales team that helped me when I bought my car, to let them know
my navigation system will randomly freeze on me, but no one cares to help now that I've already purchased my car and they've gotten their commission check. I've also asked for the manual many times, because the system is not user friendly at all, and again, no one cares to follow up with me or acknowledge the issue! I've only had my car for a few months, and couldn't be more disappointed with the less than satisfactory client service I've received post purchase date!

My hubs and I came here after leaving an awful experience at the Dodge dealership down the road. The customer service we received from Zander (Our salesman), Frank (Finance man), and Kevin (For finishing paperwork) was outstanding. Thumbs up. A+ customer service. I came in to test drive a Kia Soul EV. It was ready to go when I arrived and they didn't waste a second of my time with typical car dealership nonsense. Carl (Internet Manager) and Bang were a pleasure to deal with. Truly amazing customer service. I don't know if this applies to all DGDG folks, but Capitol Kia definitely stands out compared to many other dealerships in the Bay Area. Very straightforward and professional. Eric: he gets it done, works really hard to make sure he answers everything, gets you the best deal and best financing. personable and very fast to respond (even after the car is sold). I was in a time crunch and he literally was running (yes, running) back and forth to get things done so I could go. * other dealerships leave you waiting, have you wandering around because they can't find the car, stop responding once they have your money...NOT ERIC! He is ready when you arrive and doesn't disappear on you and is responsive after purchase.
** I have been test driving, researching cars for a while now and my experience with him was everything I have been waiting for. my husband said that he appreciated his straight forward approach and how he made sure to meet our price range.

Joon: its a rare person that can make you laugh while they are taking your money, lol. he was also fast, efficient, detailed, clear communicator and made a tedious and otherwise mundane process better.

Me buy a Kia? Really?

I am actually selling my 2010 Lexus RX350 with 21,000 miles to a friend so I can buy a 2015 Kia Soul. believe it or not, the Soul+ is more fun to drive, is really user friendly, gets better gas mileage and is less expensive to maintain and insure. Plus, it has a lot more personality than my Lexus. The resale value on my Lexus more than covered my loaded Kia, even with the great extended warranty (one of the best warrantees in the industry) and extras I wanted. The Soul is also top rated for safety and dependability by Car and Driver, Edmunds, and KBB. On top of all this, it is so darn cuuuute!

So what could be better than getting a brand new fun car? Buying it from Capitol Kia.

I know I sound like I have been paid to write this, but those who know me know that I tell it like I see it.

I have had a LOT of experience buying cars. During the past two months alone, I researched and negotiated buying new cars for my husband and my sister.

Buying a car from Capitol Kia was the easiest transaction I ever made. After doing my due diligence in researching the best price for the car I wanted via Costco, Kelly Blue Book, and , I registered with those websites to get guaranteed quotes from local car dealerships.

I was immediately contacted by Sophana Ou (aka Soap) Internet Sales Manager from Capitol Kia. He was friendly and accommodating and set up an appointment for me to come test drive the car I picked out from the offerings he sent. It was exactly the car I wanted with a great (guaranteed) discount. During the test drive, Soap explained all the features and guided me through the use of the electronics (a biggie to me since I love Navigation, Bluetooth, Infotainment System, etc). I had warned him ahead of time that I wanted to be completely comfortable with any car I chose and he assured me that we could take all the time I wanted to do that. He is a man of his word. Soap is patient, knowledgable, and low (no) pressure; a refreshing change from most car salespeople.

After I determined that this was, indeed, the car I wanted, it was negotiation time. This is usually the stage that takes hours of confrontation and haggling. Not so with Capitol Kia. One of the other competing dealerships had the same car without wheel locks (an option I could do without) for a slightly better price. Soap went to make sure he could match the price and returned with a message from his Sales Manager Frank Caggiano. Not only would they match the price, they would beat it, PLUS an additional $1250 rebate special that they could offer me through Kia Financing. This was on top of the $500 rebate and dealer discount that they had originally offered me. I was in heaven! Sign me up!

The last stage was finalizing paperwork with the dreaded Finance Manager Joon Pak. I expected a spiel to be upsold on after sale products but Joon was very laid back about it and simply showed me what was available. Normally, I don't go for any extended warrantees or prepaid service packages, but the combination of extending my bumper to bumper warranty to 10 years/100,000 miles (and it's transferrable!), prepaid service, and paint/ding/key remote replacement protection all bundled in a discounted package was irresistible. It just made sense to me, especially with the great price that i received.

All in all, the whole transaction took about 3 hours and I was out the door with my brand new car before 4pm.

I really recommend the team at Capitol Kia to anyone who wants a great deal with low pressure. If you do your homework, like I did, you will save a lot of time and money.

This review is for after sales support for a vehicle I purchased Dec. 19, 2014 and issues that arose around the year end.

If their back-office screws up do not expect any support from the sales staff.  You will get platitudes, misdirections, and blame shifting.

Here is the text of an email I sent the "Sales Manager":
Subject:  Regarding our discussion about disabled plates Jan 1, 2015
 Good afternoon Richard,

 I needed to cool down some more (and edit a couple times) before sending
 this to you.

 As we discussed yesterday, when I purchased my new Soul, I requested
 disabled plates as I had done before when I purchased my previous Soul
 in 2012.  I filled out the paperwork for the disabled plates as well
 as all of the other paperwork and information.

 Shortly before 5:30 on Tuesday, I received a call from a woman (she
 called from 408-979-3709) about my plates.  She started off by telling
 me that she couldn't order new disabled plates for my new car.  When I
 asked when this changed and what the policy was she told me that she had
 no idea when it had changed or if it had but that she could transfer
 existing plates to a new car but could not order new disabled plates.
 When I asked her to transfer my existing disabled plates for my prior
 Kia, as I haven't surrendered them yet, she told me it was too late, she
 had already submitted for regular plates and that there was nothing she
 could do.  I asked her again if the issue was policy, legal, or
 technical and said I wanted to talk to someone in management about the
 issue after she said she didn't know.  

 I got a call the next day (12:45, 31 Dec,  2014) from Kevin (the
 finance manager who handled my paperwork).  When I informed him of what
 happened, he promised me a call back from someone about the issue.  I
 received a call at about 2:45 that was almost unintelligible and asked
 the person to call back but they never did.

 As the day progressed and I didn't hear back, my frustration increased.
 After not hearing back, yesterday I drove to your shop and ended up
 speaking with you.

 As I said yesterday, there seem to be  at a minimum some communication
 and training issues.  I would also like to know what formal or informal
 company policies exist regarding disabled plates for customers and why
 DGDG is no longer able to service requests for new disabled plates for
 customers that qualify.

 I am so sorry we had to get this far before we addressed the situation. Here
 at DGDG we do process disabled plates for our clients, provided we are
 supplied with the information necessary to acquire the plates.

 We are unable to acquire placards for any of our clients since this is a
 process that requires Doctors signatures and other DMV documentation that we
 do not have access to.

 Thanks for your patience, moving forward based on our conversation you will
 be managing the plate acquisition from this point forward. We are capable of
 helping if you request it. Just let me know and thanks for doing your
 business with us.

Let's see here:
1.  DGDG was supplied with the complete and correct information.
2.  I never requested help with a placard as I already have one.
3.  The offer to help with the plates rang very hollow after I was verbally told that it was "too late" and that there is nothing that their staff can do.

My response was as follows:

 Just for clarification,

 I never asked for a placard as I already have one.  What I requested
 was a new DP series disabled license plate for my newly purchased
 vehicle.  I already have undergone the needed doctors certifications
 and had DP plates on my previous vehicle that was totaled.

 As I told you, since I already have to make one or more trips to the
 DMV about this, I will instead be applying for DV series disabled

This review is only for the shopping experience.  I made an appointment to see a used scion xb.  I arrived a little early for my appointment and the salesman (Bang) happened to not be in the showroom.  No one else approached me.  I looked at the new kia cube while waiting.  When Bang arrived he took me out to the scion xb.  I spent 45 minutes in the lot going over the car.  Then we went on the road.  I chose the route which was no problem for Bang.  He was amiable and there was no pressure.  Overall a good experience except for being ignored by others before Bang arrived in the showroom.  The car sold before I got back in touch with Bang.  He followed up with me when another scion xb was available.

I've heard so many horrible stories of Dealer ships sale people, how stressful it is, how they pressure you so much to make the deal I was scared to visit one. My Experience at KIA was AMAZING!!! I was browsing online, and when a car I was very interested in was at the KIA Dealer i sent an e-mail, within 30 mins of that e-mail I received a call from Carl. We set a time to see the car, and he was just soo nice and friendly and, and NOT PUSHY AT ALLL!!!

Worst Dealership on the planet, the maintenance shop is completely incompetent, i took my 2014 Kia Soul in for a oil change and i mentioned that i had a light out in the shift console, next thing i know they fried the whole electrical system and couldn't get it fixed. After 3 weeks they told me that they would have to replace the whole wire harness and this could take months and because they weren't exactly sure it would be the wire harness, i couldn't believe it and these guys are a Kia dealership. Not to mention 2 other times i went in for a oil change and asked for a tire rotation and they forgot to do it. So this time after they couldn't fix my car they ended up calling Kia and telling them that it would take time to fix my car, so the Kia Corporation called me and gave me $3000 towards a new car and said to go back to Capitol Kia and the head Manager Richard was going to take care of me and put me into a new car. I still could not believe this was happening i just went in for a oil change and had a little light out, an now i have to buy a whole new car. So i went down there and Richard didn't want to give me any money off on a new car and wanted to buy my car at $11000 , i told him that was an insult since they wrecked my car, i own my own business and if i made a mistake where we damaged someones property i would bend over backwards to see that they were satisfied ,even if it meant i had to take a loss that's the old school way of doing business, but these guys could care less. So i called Kia and told them i want my car towed out of there an up to Hilltop Kia in Richmond , so Kia Corporation did pay to have my car towed. Hilltop Kia sales manager Adam took care me , he contacted Kia Corporation to see what was going on and he gave me $15000 for my car and knocked off a $1000 and gave me a rebate on a new car. I called back Hilltop sales manager Adam a week later and he told me Capitol Kia missed diagnosed my car and it was a module part and they fixed it in 3 days and already sold it. This is my 3rd Kia Soul i have owned i do love these cars but i never could get a deal at Capitol Kia they are ridiculous on selling cars also, being from San Jose i try to buy local but all 3 times i went to Capitol Kia i could not make a deal. I bought 1 at Sarramonte Kia who beat Capitol Kia and 2 now from Hilltop Kia in Richmond. STAY CLEAR OF THIS CAPITOL KIA DEALERSHIP !!!

Went to look at a 2012 Kia Optima Hybrid after much research on the model.  So my wife and I came in knowing which particular car we wanted, and the highest price we were willing to agree to.  Still, we were expecting the usual 'not so genuine' treatment that they can't give us the price we want, they're still our best friend, ya da ya da ya da!  'Sop' however debunked all of that as he gave it straight, applied no pressure on us, and worked with us until we the got the price we wanted.  Basically he made us feel like we were buying from a very trusting relative.

If you're ever in doubt in purchasing any car from this place, ask for 'Sop'...

We just purchased a 2015 Kia Sorento and had a wonderful experience from start to finish at Capital Kia! When we walked into the show room to ask for a test drive, we were greeted with friendly welcomes and offered beverages while we waited for a sales rep to help us out.

When you go in- ask for Kirk! He made the entire process simple and zero stress involved. He was friendly, funny, and honest with us. We took a vehicle out for a test drive and decided to wait on it and came back the following day only to be greeted in the same manner.

Joon is the finance director and has a great sense of humor! He made sure we were taken care of.

Although the car buying process can be time consuming, the staff at Capital Kia make it worth your while!

We visited 4 other dealerships and these guys, by far, were the most attentive, helpful, and personable people we worked with.

This is the worst dealership I have ever been too. The lease on my Soul is expiring soon and I wanted to see if I could get a end of the year discount on a new Soul. I worked with Cody on getting pre-approved for an lease loan on a new Soul. I was told that I was pre-approved on the loan, so I took a day off work to go look at new cars. The rate that was shown to me via email for the monthly payment was $189 a month. I new this would be a little higher because of my down payment and extra mileage package.

My girlfriend and I got to the dealership to look at Souls. Immediately, I could sense that I was not the customer Cody had expected. When he tried to talk me out of a 2014 model saying that the 2015's would be cheaper I knew something was up. We looked at some cars and test drove a 2014 model. Once we sat down to look at numbers things spiraled out of control. First Cody wanted to re-run my credit. Which is a dirty trick to get the score to come in lower so I would have a higher interest charge. When I did not agree to this since they had run my credit three weeks prior, Cody got up and walked away without saying anything.

30 minutes later, another employee came back with some numbers. After 3 rounds of back and forth to get the numbers to a point that made sense, the finance director came out to try to pin us to a dirty deal. I mean who in their right mind would pay $487 a month on a Kia Soul. If I wanted that type of car payment, I would be at a Lexus dealership. After being talked down to like they were helping us out with this "amazing" deal, we asked to talk to a manager who never came. We left Capitol Kia with a very negative taste in our mouth. It is a dirty dirty dealership and I wouldn't recommend doing business with anyone there.

We ended up at Premier Kia in Fremont. If you are looking for a Kia, ask for Phillip. He is excellent and they will work with you to get you in the car you want at a reasonable price.

Phillip helped us understand that I should wait until my lease is up, so I am not rolling a negative dollar amount into my next car. If Cody was an honest salesperson and good human, he would have told me this from the get go and not have wasted my time. Instead I wasted a PTO day and gas to for me and my girlfriend to feel utterly disrespected.

Crappy used cars that are way overpriced...pushy salesperson that did not even want to let me and my sister test drive a car unless we were sure about buying it. In the end we drove the kia Forte that we went in to see but we walked out when he went to run a credit check and took 45 minutes( being that we were allready approved for a loan elsewhere. I am sure he just wanted us to go with their loan). I would not come back or ever recommend this place to a friend or family member. Stay away go elsewhere not in San Jose..

Such a BS dealership!

Went to see a BMW they had and the Kia guy named Zander that was helping us seemed really excited that we came. Car seemed fishy bc the chrome had been painted black and the engine was shaky, so he let us take it for a drive w/o him going with us.

We came back and still didn't feel right, so we asked Zander if we can take it to BMW so they can check it out before we made our decision. He seemed annoyed and defensive when we asked him this, so he said go ahead (after showing attitude) and walked away while dad tried calling BMW. I could hear him talking shit to his coworkers!

We left soon after, bc we couldn't get a hold of BMW. The next day, my dad texted Zander saying thanks for your help, but we changed our mind. He replied back saying AND I QUOTE "It got sold late last night. I'm glad you didn't buy the car." WTF?!?? Who says that?! ZANDER does.

Dude was unprofessional, rude, and a horrible sales man. For all I know, Kia probably rolled back the miles on that BMW they were so desperate to sell. It's probably still there, too! Zander just busted out another lie to make himself look cool.

I've purchased many vehicles at dealerships and this was the best experience ever!  I was not going to drive out 60 miles to waste my time, but when I brieftly spoke to my Internet Fleet Manager contact Jerry Brondial, I already knew I could work with him.

We set an appointment time and arrived a little after.  Jerry was assisting another customer, but had someone show us the car I was interested in.  The Internet Fleet director Carl Leung chatted with us after the test drive and we began discussing the vehicle purchase.  Jerry was still working with the other customer, but sat in as we were finalizing.  

Both Carl and Jerry are great!  You can automatically feel the good repore working with them both.  I felt the trust and honest and who can ever say that when you are working with sales?

We went home late, but satisfied. If anyone is in the market for a KIA or find a used vehicle in their lot... work with Carl & Jerry and props to Kevin in Finance who made the never ending paperwork go smoothly!

So yesterday I spent 12 hours , starting at 9am, finding the car of my dreams and this dealership had the best deal I could find in the Bay Area (believe you me, I drove all over the bay looking) through USAA. You can imagine I was tired and cranky when I got to Capitol Kia at around 7pm but the staff treated me like family and practically revived me from a numbers brain implosion. My dealer Bang (sweet name right?) went out of his way to make me happy and keep my boyfriend from murdering me in my sleep for dragging him all over the place to find my car. I had to deal with a bunch of insurance bullshit but Bang held in there for me and pulled me through my minefields. I was finally at the gates of heaven, with only finance documents between me and my baby (I call call her Optima Prime now), and Kevin the finance manager was my gatekeeper. He blew through the paperwork, and blew me away when he reduced my monthly payments with finance voodoo magic. Bang and Kevin are my honorary family now and I could not be happier. The end.

Very Nice Experience, Transparent Friendly and Honest.

So my husband has been researchign our next car for the last year, settled on low-mileage 2014 KIA Soul.  (i'm the wife writing this).

We test drove the 1.6 and 2.0 engines in San Leandro and got the classic USA auto buying experience - ignorant, sleazy salespeople, cars and prices advertised online which mysteriously 'sell' between your call to the dealership and the time you arrive, insulting sales tactics.

DH saw a 2014 with 6K miles at a sweet price online at Capitol KIA and decided to call (even though we'd been burned at other dealerships). He dealt with Cody, internet sales guy, who checked the lot for the car, called back and said yep still here. So we decided to go down to San Jose (from Walnut Creek) the next day. Cody walked the lot the next morning to make sure the vehicle hadn't sold before we started out. When we arrived, Cody and the manager were hanging out front, waiting for us, very friendly and nice, and drove the KIA Soul over for our inspection right away.

We checked the tires, oil, VIN, and so on with no distractions or weird vibes from Cody. Au contraire, he was very knowledgeable and more than happy to answer any questions about this car or the KIA Soul generally. We took a nice long test drive and Cody was mellow and helpful, no pushiness or 'sales questions'.

When we decided to start the purchase process, it was just about as painless as you can get. The dealership is comfortable and the staff friendly. We were able to get the price as listed on the internet with no negotiation or hassles. DH had a pre-approved loan from the credit union, Cody knew the system inside and out and it went forward smoothly. The money part was quite transparent, in fact Cody showed us the print-outs from the in-house system so that DH could check that the rates, monthly payments, and etc. were all as he expected from his loan (instead of the classic auto-salesperson writing it out for you on paper in a manner designed to obfuscate).

I spent a couple of hours at the dealership alone as DH had left his license at home in his other pants (the other dealership was so skeevy-feeling he hid his license so they wouldn't 'forget' to return it after the test drive, as he'd had happen before). The lobby was comfy, there was no sales pressure to buy warranties or 'something's just come up' weirdness. After our car was detailed and such, i was able to hang out in there which was kinda fun :) I never expected buying a car at a dealership to be so low-key. And definitely not while getting such a great deal on a sweet car!

But i was even more impressed with Capitol KIA after the sale. Our vehicle had been involved in a recall, which showed up on the CarFax and which we figured had been addressed. However, the next day DH (who works in the auto biz) started digging around and couldn't find documentation that the recall issue had been fixed.

So he called Cody. Cody's reaction was to research the issue immediately and assure us that they would fix the issue if needed and provide us a rental car while ours was in the shop. As it turned out, within an hour Cody ran down the work order documenting completion of the repair and sent a copy to us electronically. The dealership had only received the car on Thursday, we bought it on Sunday, so the CarFax system hadn't caught up to reality.

The problem was not a problem. But that incident made me really glad we'd ended up buying from Capitol KIA. Between the big selection and sales philosophy i think it's worth driving to San Jose from all around the greater Bay Area.  If you're looking for a particular car, in my experience they will be honest with you about what they have in the lot. If you're in the market for a KIA definitely take a serious look at Capitol and Cody!!!!

Average. Average. Average. Those are my three points.

We recently purchased a recent used vehicle here because of the online reviews of the vehicle. We did not know anything about the dealership. We were greeted promptly and professionally and the salesperson was friendly and didn't give us any hard sell.

The disappointments really started to show after our test drive and we began the deal. The salesperson talked to the manager, who said they could take $200 off the price. After weighing our options we decided to purchase the vehicle, only to be told after a second trip to the manager that they could not take the $200 off and the price was final. After this disappointment we waited around for over two hours while the finance guy in the back was finishing something up. After over two hours (and well after 10:00 pm) we decided to go home and come back the next day to sign the papers. We finally made it back and saw the finance guy, who tried to push the warranties by knocking off over half of the price of them. Makes me wonder about their initial pricing of those warranties. At least the salesperson was nice enough to fill up the gas tank for us before we drove off.

I thought it was strange that we only received one key with our vehicle, but I couldn't find the salesperson to ask about it. After a couple weeks of swapping keys at home, I decided to call them and see if they could provide a second key. The salesperson said that used vehicles are sold as is and it only had one key. I asked if their was anything they could do and was told that I could call back the next day and maybe the parts department could give me a discount. The key is a basic, non RFID key. Costs $5 tops to sell, let alone create. I would think that a dealership who strives for 10/10 service could provide an additional key as a thanks for the business gesture. But again, average reigns here. Guess I'm off to Home Depot to get a key cut.

It's not terrible service, but know that they won't go the extra mile to make your purchase feel valuable. If anything, we left wondering if things would have been different if we purchased a new vehicle.  

Didn't feel like 10/10 service. Went back on their word. Didn't make a $5 investment to make us feel valuable. Just average.

I needed to get the Soul odometer reading certified to get reimbursed for Kia overstating the MPG of their cars. Miguel went through this in about 10 minutes. He gave me a copy of the paperwork and transmitted that to Kia. In about a month, I got a gift card just as described on the Kia website. Thanks for doing the little things right.

I worked with Manny and Frank at Kia Capitol to get our new 2015 AWD Sorento. We have been looking for a new car for our growing family for the last 2 months and we fell in love with the new fully loaded Sorento after driving Toyotas, Buicks and even BMWs. The interior is better than anything that we saw and the extended moon roof over the entire car is awesome. When I asked the other dealerships what the difference between their cars and the Kia's were, their only responses were "come on, it's a Kia!". Wrong answer. I used online services to locate a Genesis Coupe and they had one to my liking. I live in Sacramento so I called and spoke to Bang and Cody regarding its availability and price. It was there and price was to my liking so I took the day and went down there as early as I can. Got there around 1100a and asked for Bang, wasn't in yet, and Cody was available. With the price already set we started the paperwork and had to get some physical address information for nearest relatives (thanks Google maps) and was ready to get over to the finance manager.

Joon was very helpful. Explained everything to me. I wasn't going to buy an extended warranty (preferred to go through the CU), but after getting a good price and monthly payment to my liking, I went with it. Was out within 2 hours. The drive back to Sacramento from San Jose is another experience. :/

Most people want a great deal and I believe I got one here. The price was good, car was great, service was what I wanted. Don't think I could ask for more except maybe a closer driving distance? Thanks Cody and Joon.

I purchased a pre owned Mercedes from Fabiola almost a year ago and couldn't have been more pleased! I saw the car online and called to make sure it was still there and Fabiola assured me is was and that she will have it waiting for me upon my arrival and which she did! I took if for a drive came in negotiated not very much though (Car was priced very well). Her Manager had to come out to straighten some things out but he was very to the point and easy to deal with. After my purchase I noticed a couple things not working correctly I brought it back and they fixed it free of charge, then unfortunately the transmission gave out randomly about a month after and once again they fixed it no charge and since then its been great! If i ever need a Kia or know someone I would send them to Fabiola within a heartbeat! Thanks Guys!

2 hours for a simple oil change seems to be a little excessive. The customer service associate that I initially talked to passed me off to another immediately.  After waiting the first hour I went to check on the status. After waiting in their office area (which was empty except two customer service associates) for almost 4 minutes, I was finally greeted again and was told it was going to be another 20 minutes. Here I am another hour later, still waiting on the a standard oil change to be completed. Wish I knew why it took so long, but I highly doubt I'd get a straight forward answer.  The only reason why they get 2 stars is because for the little amount I did talk with the customer service associate, she was friendly.

My calls were answered, the issue identified and addressed. The problem was immediately corrected and the car was detailed with the tank topped off when Zander DELIVERED it to my home.

My husband had been searching for a commuter car for over a month, finally we can across a nice deal at Capitol Kia for a 2012 Ford Taurus. We already had been pre-approved by our bank so a easy deal so we thought........

August 23,2014

Our sales guy was Will he appeared to be pleasant at first until the deal was completed. We purchased a moon roof to be installed so I advised Will that we were leaving the vehicle there until the roof was complete.  Upon concluding our final paper work with LUIS (AWESOME GUY) I told him we hated to drive all the way back to pick up the vehicle cause we lived 1hr 20 mins away. LUIS advised us that the dealership could deliver the vehicle once the roof was installed :-) that made us VERY happy.

Upon me asking WILL about bringing us the car once the roof was done he TOLD my husband and myself that the dealership didn't make enough money off of the car they sold to us so he couldn't deliver it to us (NOT A CUSTOMER FRIENDLY STATEMENT). So basically because this was not a 20k-50k sale that the delivery option shouldn't have been extended to us. AT THAT POINT I AM LIVID AND VERY OFFENDED. We drove 1hr 20mins and handed this dealership a cashiers check for $17,300.00 never tried to negotiate price nothing and this man basically told us because we didn't spend enough money that we weren't entitled to the same courteously service as someone that may have purchased a new Kia. I was upset and in the same breath offended that we just gave this man that is a representation of Capitol Kia dealership our business.

LUIS is the poster salesman for customer service he truly cares and shows interest in meeting the actual need of the customer in this case it was us.

Long story short

I asked to speak to Rich the Manager because I was very offended by the statement and the arrogance that I felt behind the statement that was made by Will. Honestly as a customer what I really heard was my money wasn't SH*T but thanks for my commission. I explained to Rich what happen and he made WILL apologize but his apology was so Dry and Insincere. Rich advised us that as soon as our car was done Will would deliver it :-). But as a customer I walked in feeling good and left feeling angry/offended. Apart of me wanted to take the check back and take our business else where but my husband was finally happy with a car/price after searching for so long.

Will contacted my husband via text an advised him that he would be delivering our car Friday August 29th at or around 6pm. I texted Will at 8/29 at 6pm to get a ETA on our car delivery and he told me via text that he had just concluded a car sale an he thinks it would be best to just deliver our car on August 30th in the morning. I immediately called Rich (M) and he said he would find out the details and call me back. Will texted us about 1 hour later to say he was on his way.............3 hours past no Will, we called his phone received his VM. We received a call from LUIS at 10:30pm stating he would be bring us our car. LOUIE was a man of his word he made it to drop off our car 12:09 THATS CUSTOMER SERVICE. LUIS AND CODY Both had smiles on there face and made us feel good again about doing business with Capitol Kia because they went above & beyond AFTER business hours to bring us our car as promised by WILL who we think was to ashamed to show his face at our home and he should have been.

I met Charles, who took the time to answer all my questions and even showed me a few cars...even though I wasn't ready to buy yet. Worked with Will McGrath to get a used Toyota Highlander and it was a pretty good experience. This was my first time buying a car and there wasn't much pressure because DGDG group already had the car at a great value. The main back and forth was when we were working on the financing part. If i didn't get a good deal, i wouldn't have known because the way they went about it made it seem like they really helped me get the best rate within the monthly payments I needed.

With all that said, each person that I worked with were personable and friendly. They were all straight shooters but aren't slouches or pushovers. If you're nice and tell it how it is, they will reciprocate.

It's been only a week of owning the car but i love it and have no issues. Everyone i've talked to agree that i got a great deal.

Decided to go online and request a price quote from a few different dealers, within minutes Carl from Capital KIA responded.  

We met Carl at the dealership and he greeted my wife and I with a smile and down to earth vibe.  He worked with us to find the right color car moving cars into the sun and next to each other to compare.  Even though we spent a couple hours there it didn't feel like long at all.  Carl was friendly and chatted with us while we waited and made sure there was a no pressure to buy.

Service center specific-

I went in because my Kia (2011 Soul bought elsewhere) was making a new noise. Fully expecting to make a later appointment I was sent off immediately with a one of the mechanics to listen to the noise. I have never been treated so well at a car service center! We drove for a bit, Pierre (the mechanic) listened to the noise, and back we went. Pierre was incredibly nice, as were the two men I met at the front desks (I forget their names, sorry guys!). They immediately took the car in and begun investigation. Thankfully it was a simple fix, and I was in and out in an hour. Also, in addition to fixing the problem they do a complementary car wash and check of some of the common essentials (tire pressure, brake pad thickness, etc.). It was great. I would go again. Hopefully though, I won't have to.

Carl you are the man. Surpassed my expectations compared to 3 dealerships that all ripped me off in the past and continued to bad rep that car sales people get year after year. Everyone who is in need of a kia or any other, ask for Carl, he can help with friends in the Capitol business even if your choice is not a Kia. Carl always contacted me before and after the sale, taking it beyond just the sale and goodbye. now that is a stand up guy who keeps his word on follow ups. he gave me 6k off the MSRP of a new kia sportage fully loaded and off the show room. Tony also financed all my paperwork within minutes and no BS. These guys all work as a team with the main goal in mind, 5 STAR CUSTOMER SERVICE. These guys are not pushy and give deals left and right. commision is not their concern or modo or way of doing business. they truly care about your needs, price range, set up, etc etc etc. Again when you need a car, ASK FOR  CARL and TONY. they are funny too. great experience no matter what.

It is regrettable that after buying a great vehicle like Cadenza 2014, I have to get stuck with the incompetency of the service department. A few weeks ago I received a recall letter from KIA to bring my vehicle and have four wheels changed due to defectiveness. Aster I called to make an appointment for this service I was informed that they do not have the wheels, I asked ok, please order it and call me when you get them, the response I got was we do not know when the party is going to arrive. I asked two weeks? Three? A month? Give me an ETA then I know when this is going to be fixed and flat out I was told I am not the only customer and we do not know what ill happen and when will happen.
These cars are great, but the service is very critical. In short. This service department is careless, incompetent, and indifferent to customer's safety and need. Please seek other dealers and read the reviews.

Who knew that buying a car could be fun! This past Saturday I went to Capital Kia to check out  a Hyundai Sonata Limited that I found online, when we arrived at 9:30am we were surprised that we were not bombarded with salesman asking if we needed help, we took time to look at the car and then walked in to get some help. We were greeted by Frank the sales manager, right away it felt like we bumped into an old friend, he was so welcoming and paired us with Carl to take the car for a drive. Carl was hilarious, really laid back and really knew his stuff, it was like hanging out with your cool older brother.
After driving the car I was certain this was what I wanted. The process was so easy and we spent the majority of the time laughing and enjoying our time with Carl and Frank. I arrived with a pre-approval from Capital One and they were able to call Capital One and get me a better rate, what a nice perk that was!!  
After we agreed to the terms we met Tony in finance and he was a HOOT! The fun just continued, he was so nice and didn't push any unnecessary features, he was straight forward and made sure that all the info was correct before I signed. The whole car buying experience took about 2.5hours, which has never been the case for me. I left paying what I wanted and my monthly payments were less than I anticipated.

I would recommend Capital Kia to anyone looking to buy a car, especially if you are going to DGDG just go to Capital Kia and they will drive the car to you.

Carl, Frank and Tony surpassed my expectations and were so pleasant to work with. They made my car buying experience something I am happy to share with people.

The whole ride home, my fiance, friend and I could not stop talking about how much fun that turned out to be! If you go to Capital Kia ask for Carl and enjoy your car buying experience.

I totaled the vehicle in January 2014 and dealing with the insurance was a headache....even though I purchased the gap insurance. Long story short I still owe 1000 to Santander, 600 of which is supposed to be paid by the dealership.  It is now June and they have not paid their part. Getting a hold of anyone who can give me an answer is impossible. How does the finance "Manager" not know what the usual procedure is? "Corporate" handles that? Well, who is the liaison?  Moral of the story is good luck after you buy the car. There is more finger pointing than accountability.

Buying a car is never a good experience,  but my experience wasn't that bad here. The employees were friendly and helpful. I did have to sign 4 different contracts, which took a long time,  but I ended up getting a better deal in the end,  so it was worth the wait.

The service department is efficient and they always throw in a car wash with services. I was able to schedule my appointment online,  which was very convenient. Wait time is usual about an hour.

The waiting room is very spacious and comfortable,  with good coffee, clean bathrooms,  a big screen tv,  and fee wifi. The only issue with the wifi is that you have to ask an employee for the password.  I'd prefer if it was just posted in the waiting area.

I would buy my next car here.

I'm really disappointed in my experience with this Kia dealership.  I had my car for five and a half weeks before my financing was finalized.  The communication between the dealership and myself was poor.  They failed to respond to my emails and when they did email me, the information was vague.  I did get a great price for my car and the salesperson, Manny, was helpful in getting me the car I wanted.  However, my biggest problem was with the finance department.  I didn't even know if I officially owned my car until 5 days after the financing was finalized.  And a bill wasn't sent to me for my first payment.  Though I got a great price for my car, a used 2011 Kia Forte, it was not worth the hassle and stress I had to deal with because of their financing department.  If you do buy a car here and have to deal with anyone in finance, I would ask for Joon.  he was the most helpful in getting my situation resolved.

I came into this dealership to purchase a vehicle. I ended up with a used Kia Optima which I do love. The sales people were pretty good. I actually got a call every 3 to 4 weeks just to check that I was still a happy and satisfied customer with my car. And I was in till about 2 1/2 months of having it my engine completely blew out and I was 2 1/2 hours away from my home. I called the dealership the lovely guy who kept calling me to make sure  that I was a satisfied customer guess what he wanted nothing to do with me at that time I was no longer important to him.
They pretty much just brushed me off at that point I finally got the car fixed and it runs great I didn't get it fixed there though because like I said they brushed me off so it ended up having to get it fixed a Kia dealership in Petaluma.  I had my car for a year now and the tires have gone completely bald I believe it's because my alignment is messed up of course they're giving me the cold shoulder again not willing to help me out or anything so I got to say is if you want a Kia car don't go to Capital Kia.

He made sure we got what we were looking for and with the BEST DEAL. he made sure to do anything he could to make us happy and also made sure that "Our problem was HIS problem". His customer service was IMPECCABLE! All the other sales guys there were a joke.

Joon Pak was the sign n seal the deal man. He was very funny and so easy going. My 2yr old and 8yr old with us and that could be a hand full but not this time. Kids were occupied with the play area and the staff as well. We bought our Kia Sorento in 2011 from this dealership and had a really good experience. It wasn't as long and painful of a process as I thought it would be. We bought a used car from a different dealership a few years before that and it took forever to get the paperwork done. Kia was pretty quick and we were/are super happy with our SUV!

We've had a couple of issues that needed fixing in the past few years, nothing major...but we absolutely love Kia's warranty.  The service dept was so-so when we first bought our car, but I feel like they are excellent now. Jessica at the front desk was amazing. She came out to write my license plate even before I'd gotten out of the car. She was very knowledgeable and super nice. I was pleasantly surprised by this experience after not having taken my car in here for a few years!

You can't make everyone happy. I'm a salesperson myself and as much and as hard as I tried at times to satisfy a customer, sometimes a customer can be angry from the start to take out their aggression and to feel their "superiority" over the sales person. Maybe the client thinks I'm a d bag or maybe they just have this impression of a salesperson.

After I say this, I just wanna say that if I feel like I'm being treated in a rude manner or being treated like a fool as customer, I just walk away. Being a sales person can be rewarding, but it has its challenges. I didn't feel this way at this dealership, Zander helped me to pick up a car my gf. He said to me straight up that I can test drive anything I like, see if I can be approved and we are not happy, no hard feelings.

To say the least, he took care of us, he gave us details on the car, warranty, plans, payments and just overall impression of him wasn't bad. We weren't rushed or bullied into the sale. He had a genuine conversation with us which is something is appreciated, I like to see personality and some passion at these types of jobs. He was persuasive to upgrade not too aggressive.

So we ended up with a new Optima and the gf loves it. I told him that I'd come to get another car for me next time. Glad that I got to work with him.

About this dealership, best prices I found in the bay for kias. Concord Kia had mark ups sky high, while the sales guy was a genuinely nice, the financial department were scum. If you can't decide where you wanna spend your hard earned cash, go to Capitol Kia. Their inventory is pretty huge.

This review is based on my experience buying a car that I saw from the DGDG website. I had originally gone through the buy center and received the run around so I decided to sell my old vehicle privately and come down to the lot where they had the car I wanted. Out of everything they had available, my husband and I decided to get a 2009 Nissan Sentra.
Although the list price was $8750, the car was listed on DGDG as $6,995. We went in to test drive the vehicle, holding $5,000 cash as a down payment. As soon as we walked in Charles greeted us and we immediately told him that we were interested in the Sentra and wanted to test drive it.

We gave Charles our driver's license, and right as we grabbed the keys to the Sentra, another salesman demanded to know where the keys were because he had a "serious buyer". He was not backing off even though we told Charles that we were really serious in buying. He got distracted so we snuck out and went on our test drive with Charles. He was super awesome because he let us both test drive it both on and off the freeway and told us to take our time. The car was also awesome. When we got back, the pushy salesman was also back and he demanded to know where the keys were to what we decided would be our car. I had my husband show Charles the $5,000 just so he knew we were really serious about taking this car home. The salesman ended up losing the customers rather than trying to show them a different car.

Once everything was finalized, we went over to meet Joon Pak to start the final process and get everything done. While we were meeting with Joon, Charles took my new car in to get detailed both inside and outside. Joon and Charles were able to offer a powertrain warranty for $2,195 and GAP insurance for $695. Due to our good credit, our payments came down to $125 a month including everything! It was awesome. Ever since I got my car here, I've had 3-4 different people say I got an awesome deal and where did I get my car? I can honestly say that we are very pleased.

I now have a brand-spanking new 2014 KIA Soul sitting in my driveway, and I couldn't be happier with my experience:  my husband and I casually drove by the dealership on Sunday, 02/09, around noon, just snooping around the models.  The Soul caught my eye and we started inspecting it a little closer.  That's when we were first greeted by Kevin, one of their sales guys.  He asked a few questions, but gave us our space without being too pushy.  When I pointed out that the available colors were important to me, he showed us some additional models in the outside lot.
After a few minutes, we decided to leave and told him that we needed to "sleep it over" (it was a spur of the moment kind of a car buying day anyways since I just drove my old car to the shop, again...!).
After spending a couple of hours at home (just 5 min. away), we tried to get some online quotes; and Kevin was the first one to call us back.  We then decided to go back for a test drive.
Smoot sailing from then on:  test drive was great, we understood eachother on how to negotiate the price (I wanted the fully loaded Soul sitting on their lot, as is).  Kevin was always polite, explained everything, offered bevereages while we were waiting to get the paperwork done.  Ted, the finance guy was quick and professional.
Bottom line:  this buying experience was everything I was hoping for:  quick, low pressure, polite and we got a good deal.  Thank you Capitol KIA!

We checked out a car listed online as a "Sneak Peek." As requested, we received a call when the car was ready to show. During the test drive we noted a tire pressure warning light and the check engine light. When we talked price and financing he refused to budge on the price ($1300 over retail blue book) and said my son couldn't be financed. My son secured his own financing and went back. They still would not budge on the price. Two weeks later we finally purchased a nearly identical car - a year older but in better condition and with fewer miles - for less than retail blue book/carfax recommended price, at a dealership where talking about the deal and financing took less than 10 minutes. They've had the car for nearly 2 months now with no takers, despite dropping the price several times.

I've never had such a horrific, degrading, disrespectful sales experience.. EVER. Associates at Capital Kia in San Jose have failed at representing the Del Grande group in an appropriate manner. I urge consumers and the corporation to pay close attention to the details below (in order of each individual dealt with).
I wanted a VW GTI as a gift for my husband. I researched used GTIs from Santa Cruz to Sacramento and Capital Kia had one to offer that I was interested in test driving. I scheduled an appointment and made my way from Union City.
Manny (newly employed sales associate): Upon arrival he greeted my husband and made small talk as we did a thorough walk around of the vehicle. The vehicle had zero body damage but we did point out to Manny glue residue on the interior from a sticker maybe. My husband then test drives with Manny.
Zander ("veteran" sales associate): Manny introduces us to Zander because he has another customer. Zander's insufficient customer service is so extraneous that it must be compiled into a bullet pointed list of its own..
Zander lacked knowledge of our turbo charged GTI. He filled it with 87 octane when it states 91 octane on the fuel lid, tried to sell a maintenance package that did not include the price difference of synthetic oil, and gave us warranty prices that did not include the upcharge for the turbo charger.
While driving me to the gas station, he failed to use a hands free device while talking AND texting on his mobile phone.
Once you sign a contract, your deal is not secure with Zander. While waiting to be seen by finance, another family came to inquire about the GTI wanting to pay cash. Zander felt it necessary to inform us of this family multiple times; once Saturday, during three phone conversations on Sunday, and once Monday.
Zander is unable to problem solve, and instead expects his customers to think for him. He agreed that I could bring my trade in vehicle on Monday, only to later say that it was against company policy and he was going to let another family test drive it. He knew that my trade vehicle needed gas, but he took off, then text me that he was stuck on the freeway (making it seem like I should assist him).
John (General Manager) : 1130AM I tell him my experience, and let him know I want to be reassigned to a sales person.This is a gift for my husband, I'm dealing with it all while I'm at work. John apologizes and says he'll get back to me. 330PM I call back because I have not heard anything, to which John says "I was under the impression your were coming to pick up your GTI." Your salesman left me stranded. John says he'll have someone call me back.
Frank (Sales Manager): 345PM Calls and starts banging out details of my loan but is not prepared with my trade in value. I'm not agreeing unless I know each detail of my loan so call me back when he's better prepared. 4PM He calls me "I want to work this deal out for you, but how can you work for me?" I'm supposed to convince YOU to sell me my car? I tell Frank no, and to give me his bottom line. We work out our deal and he ends the conversation with "By the way, how old are you, because you sound young?" 7PM I arrive with a female friend, Frank greets and leads us into finance while saying "I'm glad we came to a deal, maybe you can write a Yelp review and mention me." Here you go Frank.
Ted (Finance): Ted is the ONLY associate I have not had a problem with. Beginning to end he has been honest and straight forward. Thank you Ted.
Manny: After I signed my papers Manny walked me out to the vehicle where I did another walk around. I find a dent on the hood of my once perfect car, covered up in cheap paint that does not match. Manny acknowledges that the dent was not there Saturday.
Frank: Claims the dent is tree sap, but if it is a dent underneath they will fix it. I tell him its my only car, I'm coming from Union City, will they provide me a loaner vehicle? Frank says no, they do not accommodate used vehicle customers with loaners. He mentions a yelp review again, and asks again how old I am.
Manny: Manny is updated on the past two days, instead of active listening, he flirts with my female friend, then asks us both to stand in front of the GTI because he takes pictures of all his happy customers.. I'm not a happy customer
John: The next day I let him know how the pick up of my car went and about the dent. He seems surprised that Frank even agreed to fix it, confirmed he wouldn't find another form of transportation for me or allow me to take my car to another DGDG dealership in Fremont, closer to where I live in Union City.
I COULDN'T MAKE THIS STUFF UP IF I TRIED. Shaun Del Grande made a commitment to his customers called Project 100 "to provide 100% customer satisfaction to 100% of our customers 100% of the time" I definitely did not receive that & will be warning my family & friends of this poor excuse of a business.

We recently purchased a Kia Sorrento from Capitol Kia.  We were really impressed with our sales consultant, Joon Pak!  I am very skeptical of car salesmen in general, but Joon was honest and made us feel like he was doing the most he could to get us the best price.  We went in the first day to negotiate in person and Joon gave us a great price.  I did not believe him and decided to go home and do my own research.  I looked up average sales as well as called other dealers to see if they could beat that price.  One dealership even stated that they couldn't come close to that price and I would be foolish not to take it.  Lesson learned, Joon is as straightforward as they come.  I would gladly reccomend Joon and Capitol Kia to other people looking for a Kia.  Best car purchasing experience I have ever had!

I don't really know where to start because everything about my experience at Capitol Kia was WONDERFUL!

I stopped by the dealership late on a Tuesday night after work, almost at their closing time, just to see if they had a used Soul featured on the website. I was warmly welcomed by Joon! I had planned to stay just for a short time as I had ordered my dinner to pick up down the street and I was sure he was ready to go home for the night. Wrong! Joon assured me that he could take care of me before they closed.

I already had my car picked out so he grabbed the keys and we took it for a test drive down to pick up my dinner! Joon's hospitality didn't stop there..... When we got back to the dealership we started my paperwork between chit chat and bites of sushi. Joon made this usually painful part of the car buying experience a total JOY! When he had to step away to start the approval process he made sure I was setup with a beverage and a few puzzles to occupy myself. I never once felt neglected or forgotten.

Joon and Frank turned my bad credit and sticky auto situation around and worked out a deal that I felt confident and comfortable with. For that I am extremely grateful.

Joon made arrangements for my car to be detailed and prepared for me to pick up the next day. When I arrived to pick it up it was sparkling and ready as promised.

As if all of this was not enough, a few days later I noticed a small piece of plastic stripping coming loose from the car that needed to be reattached before it rained. I brought the car back and Joon took care of this as well!! Seriously, the level of customer service and attention to customer needs is out of this world. And with Joon you can tell it's coming from a genuine place. No fake car salesman here folks!!

I was very pleasantly surprised by my car buying experience earlier this week at Capitol Kia in San Jose, and my sales consultant Joon Pak.  I was in the market for a late model used car and didn't even have Kia on my original list of cars that I was considering to buy.  However, after visiting a rental car company's used car lot and trying out several late model cars, I was most impressed with the Kia Optima LX for its performance, styling, features, and fuel economy.  

More research moved Kia to the top of my list, and I contacted Joon Pak, Internet Sales Manager and Sales Consultant at Capitol Kia.  He responded by email quickly, asking me how he might be of assistance.  I wasn't looking for a new car as I was convinced that I could save thousands by buying a used 2013 or 2012 model.  I began looking at cars on lots at other dealerships and was disappointed.  They either did not have the car I wanted, or the price was too high.  So I turned to Joon to see what he could do.  Wthout haggling or negotiating from an inflated sales price, he offered me a fantastic deal on one of the few remaining new 2013 models remaining on the lot.  That was enough to get me to drive from Oakland to San Jose, and I am glad I did.

Joon Pak impressed me as personable, honest, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with.  He was courteous, answered all of my questions objectively, and did not pressure me in the least.  He did not pester me with phone calls or email messages, but responded quickly to my questions.  At the dealership, he respected my time and helped me located exactly the Kia model and color I wanted.

I am very happy with the purchase and for getting a new 2013 Kia for about the same price as what I found they listed for on car lots as used rentals with 25,000 miles.

At the last minute, having settled on a price for my new Kia, I told Joon that I needed to trade-in my car and that my purchase decision would be contingent on getting a reasonable offer.  No problem.  Joon did not try to low ball my car's value.  Instead, we went online, visiting , to get a market trade-in value based on the year, make, and model and condition of my trade-in.  He gave me the car's full market value and the deal was cinched.

Joon made me feel like a valued customer.  The other members of the dealership's staff were also attentive, helpful, and not the least bit pushy.  The facility is modern and the selection of cars is impressive.   I am very happy with the car I choose, the final price, the trade-in, the follow-up service, and I constantly get compliments on my car.

I would definitely recommend the Capitol Kia dealership in the Capitol Expressway Auto Mall in San Jose to my friends and family.

A few weeks ago my husband and I bought a 2014 Kia Sorento from Capitol Kia.  From the very start we had a unique experience. unique as in fantastic and most people dont expect that when buying a car!!

After much research, we were pretty set on the Sorento when first walking into the dealership and meeting Joon.  He was excited and helpful but not too pushy.  We test drove a few models and we felt like we could be completely honest with him about our financial situation and what we wanted and needed.

We left because I had to sell my old car first but were confident we'd come back to buy a Sorento.  It took an excruciatingly long time to sell my car and all the while Joon would email/text/call us every few days to check in and make sure we were coming back.  This didn't bother me because-- A. I knew we WERE coming back and B. It was endearing and funny to me... made the experience more real rather than having to come into the situation putting up a front and a show with complete strangers.

Finally, we came back to officially buy. Joon and his coworker Misty made it clear they were grateful for our return after many weeks.  They had two cars pulled up for us that they thought were the best fit for us (they were!) based on what we told them before coming in, but were still patient when we asked to walk around the lot and look at EVERY. SINGLE. Sorento in the lot, front and back!!  Misty was so easy to talk to and feel comfortable with.  She had an answer to every single question and did not rush us one time.  We really appreciated her relaxed nature!

They assured us we wouldn't have to haggle and they'd give us the BEST PRICE EVER right off the bat for coming back to them, but alas we intensely bartered for what seemed like hours, and even Frank the finance man came out to talk to us directly.  Honestlyn though, we expected this no matter what they said. They finally DID honor a GREAT price that we are SO EXTREMELY happy with.  We felt comfortable throughout the whole experience.  We laughed through out and it was about as fun and exciting and enjoyable as haggling about money could possibly be :)

The icing on the cake was that not only did they share their Chinese food delivery with us when we first arrived for our appointment but as we were signing our papers Joon ordered and surprised us with dinner right there at the desk (some sort of delicious falafal type wrap with sauce) and we had endless amounts of coffee, tea and water.  It was unexpected but very much welcome and appreciated given we were there for about 6 hours by the end. Joon even let me borrow his i phone charger when my phone died. It may seem silly but all those little things made the experience more human & kept us non irritable, relaxed happy customers during what is usually a tense, huge financial decision!!

We highly recommend the team at Kia Capitol, especially Joon and Misty! Honestly they were like our buddies by the end of it all, plus we got an amazing car.  The 2014 Sorento has great power, lovely soft leather, beautiful digital screen and GREAT gas mileage.  We seriously love everything about it!! What more could you ask for in a car buying experience?!

This review is based off of a used car from Capitol Kia from someone who has TERRIBLE anxiety when it comes to dealing with anything regarding cars.

Knowing exactly what I was looking for, My husband and I ended up heading down to Capitol Kia from Napa. They had a VW GTI that I had been eyeing for a few days that happened to drop in price. I was intrigued.

I contacted the dealership wanting to know why the drop, it was significant; around $3000. Dave Smith emailed me within 30 minutes or so to let me know in so many words that they basically needed to move the car since they get so many in. Completely understandable.

Long story short, after test driving it. Getting approved at an insanely low financing rate along with a 4 year warranty on the car, we definitely came out of the deal with a good little car. It was no hassle, seriously. Coming from someone who has serious anxiety when it comes to dealing with cars, this was a breeze. Dave was nice, easy going and we knew they just needed to get rid of the car. He quoted us on a 4yr/48k mile warrantee and when Ted the finance guy realized he was wrong with that pricing, Ted gave us the deal any way. We came in at 2pm and left around 6. I believe that's pretty standard when it comes to buying a car. The archaic paperwork system of buying cars is slow all around.

Honestly, it helped that we bought a used car that wasn't of the Kia model at a Kia dealership because they couldn't up sell us on what we didn't need. We did our homework, knew how much the car was worth on KBB, studied the Carfax and had a friend who buys and fixes up cars all the time that helped confirm our purchase. We walked out with a warranty at a good price which is something I highly recommend on a used car. Go in confident, knowledgeable and it also helps dealing with people who are "old school" when it comes to selling you cars. No-pressure-Just-want-to-get-it-off-the-lot dudes. That means they're willing to work with you.

We realized on the long drive home that there was a little wobbling on acceleration at high speeds but because we got the warranty there is peace of mind that it will get fixed by our friend who's a mechanic. They also have a 3-day dealership return policy. Take advantage of that to the max if you end of buying a car from them by getting the car looked at then returning it if you don't want to deal with it.

It does kind of bother me when people get angry about buying a car when they don't do their research or expect some kind of stellar experience. People are different, some salesmen are pushy, some are great and that's just life when it comes to dealing with people. But you don't have to be fooled on the car itself, that will never change if you do your homework. Cross your T's, dot your I's because in the end you're signing binding paperwork and if you're not as thorough as they are you can only blame yourself in the end for being "swindled." Car buying doesn't have to be an issue when you know what's going on and again... this is coming from someone who has terrible car buying anxiety.

I pulled in and began my car buying adventure (for the tenth time this month) on an awkward note... I totally over shot the customer parking and got my boat of a car stuck in a one way between two shiny rows of cars... a very helpful woman offered to help, navigated the tight turns, and even parked my car for me, before showing me to my appointment. Everyone here was nice first of all, it's a very clean, bright and shiny facility,  and when I told Joon my story he stated, plain faced "I can do better". He turned my 3 month trek, my bad credit, cynicidm and perceived limited optionsand and goals into a newer car than I had even thought I could look at! The team all worked so hard on my behalf and got me a great deal, UNDER budget, and way below the APR other lots offered. I never considered the benefits of large lots/associations of lots and networks, or how it could affect me and my options but Joon kept his word. I drove off in my 2009 Kia where before I had only been looking at early 2000 sedans. I am so happy with my car and how inexpensive of a route he offered me to better credit. As soon as this is near paid off I will be hunting Joon down at a DGDG lot and buying my 2016 car :) Thanks to the whole staff, and to Joons honesty and dedication to customer service. I never even felt like he was selling anything to me, he simply answered my questions honestly. Thanks to your guys' hiring standards and the network Shaun has allowed for me to take advantage of, I am a happy camper :)

I went to Capitol Kia after having spoken with a couple other nearby dealerships. I dealt with KIM, who was absolutely amazing to work with! After a few phone calls, and two visits, we purchased a beautiful new Optima Hybrid.

Everyone that we spoke with and dealt with at Capitol Kia are very friendly, open to discussion and what I like best: they AREN'T pushy! If you are sick of dealing with pushy, aggressive salesmen than come to this place, they will treat you right. The Finance Director, Ted, worked with banks and credit unions for our financing because we are recently out of college and still have a young credit history so many banks were afraid to take us on.

I was waiting for awhile during the process with approvals with the banks, so we got hungry and Kim gave us Chinese food from the break room. Haha, love this place!! I got a great deal and a great car that we will enjoy for years, which is great because I was excited to get out of our cash and gas guzzling clunker from college.

I highly recommend for everyone, GO TO THIS PLACE if you are looking for a car. They will give you a great deal and treat you right. And ask for Kim !!

My wife and I has been in the market for about 3 weeks now and after trying 3 different dealerships and continuously getting denied, we almost gave up on hope. After viewing some other vehicles online, I saw a used 2009 Scion xB that I wanted to view in person. As we came up to the lot, I realized that this was the wrong dealer that I had stepped into. Anyhow, as my wife and I browsed around a bit, a salesman named JOON PAK came up to us asking us what we were looking for. In the beginning, I didn't even want to talk because I knew that this dealership was the wrong dealership. After a few minutes, I gave JOON a chance and told him my entire story. He listened and said "that's not a problem... I can guarantee you a vehicle today". I then told him, "that's what they (other dealerships) always say". After a few hours of discussion, he then said "I got you a deal".... Shocked and ecstatic, I said "really???". After finally getting all the numbers situated, we came to a conclusion and was able to leave Capitol Kia with our vehicle

JOON PAK, worked his magic and was able to put us in this vehicle regardless of our difficult situation! Excellent customer service and was up front with no hiding around the bush. He took his time and really made sure we were satisfied. JOON, thank you so much for your time, effort and excellent service. My family and I are blessed to have met a wonderful person like you. I purchased a 2013 Kia Soul about a month ago. I had emailed the online sales rep named David Smith for weeks before coming in. I finally was ready to come in to purchase the car. It took over four hours to complete the loan process. I am a qualified buyer with great credit. I went out to look at the car and there was a huge scratch on the back of the car. I told him I wouldn't take a brand new car like this he promised to repair it and threw in two tanks of gas. About a week ago I have been receiving calls and constant emails asking me to return the car or re sign a new contract since my loan was not approved. I have attempted to resolve the issue but I have dealt with the worst customer service including the manager Frank Caggiano, Elizabeth Czhar, Ted Yee. I am shocked at some of the things that they have emailed me and said to me over the phone. At this point I would like to just return the vehicle and be done with them. Please save yourself the hassle and purchase a car elsewhere. This really has been an awful experience for me. Finally, my loan was approved. The used so many different lenders that my credit dropped significantly. Overall, this place was a nightmare. DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE!!!

I purchased my car here about a month ago, and it was mostly a good experience. ... but they only gave me 1/2 tank of gas, AND I just now found that spare tires are now an option.  No one told me about this.  So how safe is a Kia if you have a flat at 1:00 AM on highway one with no spare tire.....also, if they had told me this was now an "option", I would have purchased it.  When I called to inquire why this is, it is to save gas.  I think I can put out a bit more for gas and save myself hours with no spare tire.  Common now, it is usually an old crappy tire anyway.

I was not at all in the market for a new car as I was still enjoying my 2006 Mercedes.  Joon Pak, a salesman and Facebook friend posted, a picture of a new 2012 Fiat 500 Sport that was for sale.  As I have driven one in the past and loved it, I commented on the photo that I loved the Fiats and wish I could buy one.  After a few comments back and forth with Joon which continued with us chatting throughout the afternoon about the Fiat and my car, I decided to drive to San Jose (from San Francisco) and look at the car on Saturday, July 27.  After a short test drive, I knew I wanted it but had to wait to see what kind of deal I would get on my trade in.  Joon took all my information down and after a short time, he came back and presented me a deal I couldn't turn down.  I agreed to the deal and probably an hour or so later I was driving off the lot in my brand new 2012 Fiat 500 Sport with only 15 miles on it.  I think this was by far the best experience I had in purchasing a new car.  Joon was very professional.  Elizabeth in the Finance office was wonderful and explained all the paperwork before I signed it.  I can't believe the amount of paperwork there is -- you would think in 2013 that process could somehow be streamlined.  I love my Fiat and the service that Joon, Elizabeth and all the staff in the background provided and would definitely recommend them to all my friends.

I came here with a car in mind and I got exactly what I wanted. Frank came outside and helped us out and was very nice. Joon was also on hand and did a great job as well. I got a 2013 Kia Rio and I was able to stay in my budget thanks to these two guys.

There were a few copies I had to make so they offered to drive the car to my house the next morning and pick up the copies! That made it so much easier.

The only negative was that it was a small lot and they didn't seem to have a lot of options. Luckily, they happened to have the exact car and color I wanted on hand. Other than a small lot this was a good experience!

Brought my bf's car in for service. He made an appt a week in advance for 11:15am. I show up at 11:10am and there are two people working in the service department but apparently one of them was capable of helping customers. I was on my lunch during the work week and didn't have a ton of time to wait around- and figured I wouldn't have to because he had made an appt. There were a few others so around 10 minutes later I get the car checked in and am on my way.

Around 3:30pm I am getting things ready to leave work when I realize the car is still at Kia! I called and asked what time the car would be ready since I had dropped it off hours ago for a scheduled appt. They said the tech was working on the car right now. 30 minutes later they call and say that the car was ready for pick up. I show up and paid *5 bucks off with a yelp check in!!! Was kinda annoyed that it took so long but they tossed in a car wash.

Contrary to some negative reviews on Yelp, my girlfriend and I had a hassle-free experience at this dealership! After visiting multiple dealerships and being 'harassed' by car sales men, we found relief at Capitol Kia..thanks to Margo who was upfront and empathetic with our situation. We were planning on at least getting one car but ended with two :-)

I was happy with the finance deal as well! A big thank you to Elizabeth, Finance Manager, for being not a typical finance manager -- she was friendly, accommodating, and answered all questions with a smile! Thanks to Frank as well who was very pleasant!

First off, I hate long reviews, but I have waited a couple of months to write this review, in hopes that what we were promised would happen, but it has been 3 months and nothing has changed, hence my 1 star.

I would like to thank Elizabeth in the finance dept, she helped me a lot, in terms of my financial needs, though they kind of suck at answering their phones. lol

My boyfriend and I went to Capital Kia because they had a used Honda Ridgeline that we were interested in, but it was not ready for sale. The sales guy Calvin explained every used car needs its 100 hour maintenance, inspection and detailing before it is sold. There was a huge scratch on the back of the truck and he said not to worry that it would be re-painted, so there would be no noticeable scratches. To our surprise, another sales person was showing the truck to another customer, but since we were the first ones on the wait-list, they offered to sell it to us first if we wanted it. Calvin had told us after we sign the paperwork, they would finish maintenance and painting so we would go pick it up in a couple days.

However, much to our surprise, once we signed the paperwork, they handed us the keys and told us all the detailing is done and we could take it home. I brought up the scratches and 100 hour maintenance issue, telling them i didnt want to bring it home unless everything was done. They informed us AFTER we signed the paperwork that they cant hold cars on the lot that have been bought. Finally, Miguel, in the service department agreed to complete the 100 hour maintenance that SHOULD have been done before we took the car home, however they refused to do anything about the big scratch on the back. We were told it needed a new catalytic, which was ordered and they will call us to come back to get it changed once the part arrived.

After 3 months, countless calls and texts, and them supposedly "re-ordering" the part, we have yet to get the catalytic changed. Bottomline is, dont promise things when you cant come through with it. If they weren't planning on giving us the full service that should have been completed before selling the truck, they should have told us that before we bought it, instead of promising us loads of BULL.

About 5 weeks ago I drove 60 miles to San Jose Kia to look at a Soul. I was met by Dave Smith who took us for a test drive. He seemed pleasant enough and I loved the car so I started the paper work on purchasing the car it took a couple of hours in total but  after working all day and not getting there till 5:00 we didn't finish till 8:30 at night. Finally paper work was done and we were able to go.
It wasn't till then that I found out I only had one key to my new car. Dave said he would look for the other one and let me know when he finds it and if he didn't find it he would order one for me.
I went to my old car to empty out my belongings and in the process forgot my fast trak and  to clean out the  top part of my glove box out. (separate compartment). Of course that contained my GPS and crash tool. I didn't notice the missing items till around 10am the next day when I was putting stuff away and called them immediately the women that answered the front desk said she would look around and let Dave know about the missing items. I got a call back from the woman and she said she couldn't find it and she would have Dave call me. Long story short, numerous phone calls, over 20 emails with Dave, some accusing me of being a liar, no GPS, no crash tool, no Fast Tr ak. I received a key 31/2 weeks later that was in 3 pieces and not cut. So my conclusion, Capitol Kia has liars and thieves working for them. They can steal from you and Capitol Kia does not have any recourse. There was only a 3 hour window of when I left my car with them and when I called the next day. They could of narrowed down who had access to the car, but they didn't. They made their sale and were down with me. Dave is the epitome of a bad car salesman, This was  an extremely bad experience.
I will also be blasting this on facebook to make sure I reach 1000's of other consumers too.
On a good note, I took my key that was in 3 pieces to REDWOOD CITY KIA  to have it cut and they were absolutely INCREDIBLE!!  First off the asked why my key was in 3 pieces and not cut and were appalled by my story. The didn't even charge me to cut the key they had my warranty cover it. While I was waiting for the key to be put together they washed my car and gave it the once over and just went out of their way to make it a nice evperience for me.
I am so happy I found  REDWOOD CITY KIA, because I love my SOUL and now I have place to take it and I don't have to deal with the horrific service that Capitol has to offer.
If you want to buy a Kia I suggest REDWOOD CITY KIA!

I had an unfortunate bad experience here when coming to purchase a car.  I have great credit, was already approved and only needed to come to a deal with my car and trade.  Now, I understand that it can't always work out to the numbers that us as consumers would like to see.  That is not what the problem was.  We went through the full negotiations with them and couldn't come to a deal.  This is understandable.  The car had these expensive rims on them and was marked a lot higher than the other comparable cars in the area and I wouldn't' budge too much because I didn't ask for the rims and thought I could find something more comparable.

When I left, I told them that if they could get the deal to a certain number, then I would come get the car.  Also, I told them that I would confirm the interest rate with my credit union (which was significantly lower than what they offered).  I called and updated them and they also called me to ask me if I changed my mind.  Again, I gave them my bottom line (which we were only off about $1,500).

A few days later, I was searching online for the car and the same car was posted for lower than my offer!  I could not believe it. I called them (which I look back and feel like it shouldn't be me who should have called) and they told me the price was due to a sale and I should drive there right away to get the deal.  It was sold within hours.

I would think that they could have at least called me to offer it to me.  I am not saying they should have held out on a sale from someone else, but considering I spent an entire Sunday afternoon there, let them run my credit and see that I qualified for the best interest rate and had my own credit union approval, it was almost like they just didn't want to sell me the car.

Very disappointing.  Then he had the nerve to email me days later (after I made a much better purchase at another dealership) to offer me a car that was 5 years old with 96,000 miles on it..............I could only laugh.

leased a kia optima 2.0T fully loaded from Calvin. hes a nice guy, no pressure, got a great deal. drove the car home same day. dealership is friendly and accomodating. will be taking car in there for service as well. If you are looking at a Kia Optima with the 2.0Turbo, I recommend coming here and taking one for a spin. Car has a lot of little niche features and go ask for Calvin. Hes a knowledgeable and fair guy.

Capitol Kia-Exceeded All My Expectations As A Dealership!

I have written many reviews about different places and my ratings of stores vary from 1 star to 5 and I always try to be fair, objective and honest.

Lets start with some of the past YELP reviews of Capitol Kia that are 1 Star by other Yelpers...some of these complaints are not reasonable and yes, sometimes dealers have bad days. Often, we only read one side and not sure if this is the real story.

For Example:  When I see 37 1 Star Reviews about a tire store or a business being dishonest, I will usually visit that shop and test it-then add my 38th 1 star review if I find it to be true.

So I look at these 1 star reviews that Capitol Kia received. Here are different excerpts from various reviews.

1.We came in and Not a single sale's person came out to greet us or served us.

2. They promised me a price both over the phone and through written Email to bait me into the dealership and than said that it was a mistake when I was in the dealership, and that they cannot honor the price that they have already promised me. Even worse... the sales reps (there were more than one of them) blamed me for trying to deceive...

3.  I met every requirement they listed for "easy financing".  Denied within an hour.

4. . I explained to him that we would like to test drive the showroom car and to make a decision as to whether we wanted to buy it or not.

5.  We test drove a beautiful  RED soul exclaim on Monday Sept  9th. It was already late in the evening so we decided to go home and come back in on Friday. On Thursday we were told that they sold the one we were looking at and because they only had one left that the GM  was raising his price for us another $2k more than MSRP.  (Manufacturer SUGGESTED retail price).

It goes on but the majority of the reviews are 5 stars. So what is going on here?

Try to be reasonable; (1) Sometimes salespeople are not readily available. (2) I don't think we are getting the whole story. (3) Financing is NOT a dealer decision...they only pre-qualify. (4) Test drive a showroom car? Do you know how hard it is to pull one of these out of the building? You test drive the exact demo car then buy the showroom car. (5) On Monday they test drive a Kia Soul (Obviously a loss leader-only one)...they decide to buy on Thursday (3 days later) and car is sold. It is going to be more expensive.

So lets talk about my 5 star experience.  I drive over to Capitol Kia about 11 AM on a Monday to test drive a sales person to be seen. So I look around at the cars, then go into the showroom and find a young lady who was sitting at a desk apparently doing car related items and I ask for a sales person. She looked at me, smiled, then introduced herself as MISTY UEMURA.

I told her that I was a serious buyer, my credit was not that good (had been previously turned down from my bank), and I was looking for possibly a Kia Soul with a reasonable interest rate for my credit. MISTY told me that she would help me so we test drove 2 cars. I decided the Kia Soul was the one I wanted. She started to search the current ads and found a one only, obviously a loss leader, that was over $1,000 below MSRP. Guess where this car was-about 10 feet from where we were sitting in the showroom (sound familiar?). MISTY told me that Frank Caggiano  was the finance person and he often could possibly help. I met Frank, who was extremely polite and understanding about my financial situation and told me he would try.

MISTY did not pressure me to purchase this car, did offer some good suggestions about possibly considering a used one for a lower price, but I decided to stick with this and purchase this Soul ASAP, or it would be sold  (again-sound familiar?).

Frank was successful in locating financing for me at a lower interest rate than I expected. Yes, I bought the car....of course the dealer offered me about $7500 dollars worth of extras, such as pre-paid maintenance, which actually seemed to be a really good deal...but I only wanted to finance the car. I may buy some of these extras for cash at a later time.

Once the deal was signed and I gave the down payment, the car was taken off the showroom (took almost 30 minutes to get it out and a couple of hours to detail and clean). MISTY was very kind, (yes-she knew how to sink the Bluetooth) and actually impressed me with her high level of Kia Car knowledge.

I had to leave, as I had an appointment so MISTY offered to deliver the car later that evening if I gave her a ride back. That was really nice and around 8 PM, I had the car and on the way back, MISTY further explained other features of the car.

So that's the story. I got the impression the Kia Sales Team definitely wanted to sell me a car (even at a loss for them) and did everything that was in their power to accomplish this. There was no pressure, it was actually a very enjoyable experience, thanks to MISTY UEMORA-who you must see if you visit this store!

this place is terrible! i was treated horribly.they left me waiting in the showroom for 45 minutes.finally got in the kia soul to test drive,and only got to drive across the street and park. i was rushed out of the car.i was also promised a $25 visa gift card (the guy promised  to print out the coupon for me.i had no printer) & when i got there he acted as if he did not know what i was talking about.i might have a junky car (someone crashed into me) but i did just get a large cash settlement.i was going to buy a new  kia soul ALL CASH.not from this place!!!

My husband decided he wanted to get a Kia(in my head, " seriously?") We came in and Not a single sale's person came out to greet us or served us. We walked around the lot looking for the 2013 Suv and still nobody came out. We decided to walk inside and still no sale's person came running up. There were a few sale's guy sitting at their desk, but didn't get up to help us. All they did was just sit there and looked at us and that was it. My husband asked the guy if he could take a look at the car and the sale's guy sitting at the desk doing jack shit said " sure, sure and looked away." Wtf do u not want to sell a car or what? I said to my husband " lets go, they dont look like they want to sell."  We left. Seriously, you would think with the economy like this..... they want to sell a car, but apparently not. Not coming back!!!

Been doing my research and decided to buy me a kia soul. My mother bought herself a new car from capitol kia a few months ago and referred me to capitol kia. We were both helped by sales associate  Mahendra Doshi. My experience there was great Doshi showed me all my options and offered me different payment plans and found one that was suitable for me. This is my first big purchase and he made it possible.  He made the process smooth and easy, I was able to drive my new car the very same visit. I am writing this review of Frank Caggiano and his colleague, Chad who provided me with the absolutely best car buying experience ever at Capitol Kia!  I just bought a 2013 Kia Soul and could not be happier!

I have bought 6 cars in my lifetime and this was the easiest, most honest, the happiest and the most stress-free of all of them! Frank and Chad were human, personable, and never did I feel like there were games being played or that my best interests were not being considered.  I spoke with Frank over the phone before going to the dealership thinking that there was no way I would qualify for a car at this time due to credit woes.  I was so pleasantly surprised and I got so much more car than I dreamed possible!  My three sons are elated with the new ride and my teenager even thinks that it is so much more cool than our previous minivan (not why I bought my Soul,but well  true!)

We purchased a car here recently and I LOVE my car!  The staff were friendly and helpful even though we kept them past their time to go home.  I would recommend working with Captiol Kia if you are looking for a great deal.  (BTW, we received notice in a timely fashion that the mileage numbers were found to be inaccurate and that they are offering to send refunds asap.  You may have heard about this on the news and in fact it was the #1 factor in our decision to get the Rio.  Even with the lower mileage info we would probably have still purchased this car.)

Hubby and I was on the hunt for our first car, and after visiting several dealerships, we thought we'd give Capitol Kia a try for the Optimas. Right when we got there, Marc approached us right away  and answered any questions we had. After looking at one, we thought that the price was a bit high for our budget. We asked for Marc's card because we were still exploring our options.

When we went inside, Chad was introduced to us as a sales lead. Right away he was asking what he was able to do (number wise) to get us to our goal amount. We got to test drive the 2013 Kia Optima SX ( hubbtly wanted turbo). We both instantly fell in love with the car and the many features it offers. After going back and forth for a couple hours, Chad and Marc was able to get us to our goal amount. They fought really hard and went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. Being first time buyers, we have experienced other dealerships who didn't have the drive to help or worked as hard as Chad and Marc.

We weren't planning on buying a car that day, but with such great customer service from start to finish from both Marc and Chad, we were able to get the car that we love!

I just bought a 2013 Kia Soul from these guys and was very satisfied with their level of service and the price they gave me. I drove down from Oakland to work with them after visiting the San Leandro Kia people who were much closer to me but pretty awful to deal with - it was worth the 60 minute drive not to be subjected to sales techniques from the 1950's.  I worked with Margo and she gave me a fair price, (2k lower than the initial price from San Leandro fiends, even with upgrade of sunroof and fog lights!), and didn't pull any of that super irritating sales crap that still goes on in car dealerships. They took care of having the seats changed to leather for me and delivered my new car to my front door in Oakland.  I'm super happy and have no hesitation in recommending this dealership and
I especially recommend working with Margo - she took a lot of time to go over every feature of the car  and even took care of connecting my cell phone with the car system for me.

My mom decided to get me a car for my upcoming 18th birthday. From the beginning, I was dead set on getting a Kia. My experience was outstanding for the most part. We came to test drive a specific car: A Kia Rio. The hard part was picking either a 4-door or 5-door. Ali, the consultant that helped us, was very patient and understanding. I'm especially picky with things but he was patient through the whole thing and made the process very easy. Although there were some difficulties when we had a change in sales consultant because Ali's shift was over which almost had us close to leaving for good, he came to talk to us and helped us with everything. Firstly let me say I am a retail manager and understand the importance of excellent customer service...Elizabeth provided that and then some!

I want to say thank you to Elizabeth! She went above and beyond to ensure that I got EXACTLY what I wanted! I explained my budget, told her what other dealerships were offering and she honestly gave me the best and fairest price for my new car.

I purchased a 2013 Kia Soul and financed with the dealership! Because I have two full-time careers, Elizabeth accommodated my schedule in order to finalize the purchase.

No-one in California had the color of car that I wanted, so she went out of her way to find it for me, which took a month. She stayed connected the entire time during the process and gave me updates. Once she finally found one she immediately called me and held the car for me until I could come into the dealership to put my down payment down. She literally hid the car from other buyers for me!

Once at the dealership, she knew I was pressed for time and expedited the process by setting up all of my paperwork ahead of time and scheduling within my time frame.

The financing option was thoroughly explained, the benefits of the car were thoroughly explained, and I left the lot feeling 100% satisfied and confident about my purchase.

Elizabeth still keeps in contact to make sure everything is going well! I recommend Elizabeth as a diligent, honest, efficient, and friendly sales person.

I went into KIA interested in taking a test drive with my wife and son. We pulled up into the visitor parking in my M3. We were dressed well and had our child car seats with us. We walked into the showroom and went straight to the vehicle we wanted. We installed the car seats and started examining the interior. During all this time there were 3 salespersons sitting at their desks playing on their computers or phones. We knew they saw us as we we were in plain view about 25 feet away from them... And my son was loud enough to be heard. One of the salespersons went out to the used lot and asked a couple if he could help them. Funny how they saw them so far away outside? Plus (and not to be presumptive) but they were not dressed nicely not were they looking at more expensive cars. But I digress... Finally after 20 minutes I finally walked over to one of the salespersons and asked him for help in test driving the car. He slowly looked up completely uninterested and stood up. I explained to him that we would like to test drive the showroom car and to make a decision as to whether we wanted to buy it or not. I also told him that we'd pay cash so qualifying for financing was not an issue. He replied that he'd prefer to not take the car out of the showroom unless we definitely wanted to buy it. I said we wouldn't know unless we drove it but that we were fairly certain this was the car. He again declined. So we grabbed a brochure and left. Too bad he lost a sale as we've bought elsewhere and for cheaper. The sales service there was terrible. We opened the door so many times so a sale and they didn't pick up on it. Also, the dealership was empty on a Wednesday at 6pm. I guess they must be way ahead on sales as there was no interest in making a sale. Too bad.

I love it here! I used to go to the Steven's Creek Kia, and there's a reason they closed!  Capitol Kia is the best!  After I bought my car I thought they wouldn't even care about me anymore but when I come back to service my car, they're always so friendly and knowledgeable.  The lady that helped me was super helpful even at the waiting area, there were people making sure I was comfortable.  Getting your car serviced is already a hassle, they make it stress free! =D

First, this is the first time I have written a review but I felt that the service was so outstanding I needed to.

I have been car shopping for a while and stopped by Capitol Kia to take a look at their crossover SUV's. Jed welcomed me with a warm friendly smile and was immediately helpful. He didn't have that sales car guy feel. We test drove the Sportage and I liked it. We looked at several options and then believe it or not he gave me a brochure and business card and sent me on my way. I was so impressed with how relaxed he was. There was no pressure. I went to several other dealerships to find their sales staff sub par. I came back a week later to test drive the Sportage I liked and Jed was once again there to help without any pressure. I told him I wanted to think about it and left. The next day I came back and walked away with a new car. The negotiation was awesome and while there is always some time in negotiating a fair price, Jed went to bat for us and got a great deal with many perks. He even helped detail the car so I could get out faster!

If you are in the market for cars Kia has come out with some great ones and you can't beat the service and no pressure Jed provided. He really made the car buying experience awesome. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a car and all of the staff at Capitol Kia. They really took care of us!

I am looking to buy a subaru outback. I found one they had that looked like a really nice car and met a lot of my standards. I'm from Sacramento, so I called and asked questions about the car. The salesmen was nice and seemed like he was being honest, he admitted they're not positive the timing belt had been changed. I told him I was coming from Sacramento and would be there at 11. I got there at 10:45. My salesman is no where to be found for 10 minutes then he appears and tells me that a tech is driving the outback to get a minor problem, that he wasn't sure was, worked out. 10 minutes later we see the tech pull up and my salesman pulls it up to us. Then he explains that the car has a minor ticking that has just developed while it was at the dealership. He says the mechanics say its carbon build up on the pistons, from sitting at the dealership and using cheap gas. He also says that the ticking will go away with regular use. I don't believe that the ticking just developed and I have no clue what the cause of it could be. When I test drove the car the ticking was practically a knock. When we got back I told him I'm not going to buy a car with ticking in the engine. I am really mad, I talked to the salesman, he told me about the car and gave me more information, but he never mentioned a ticking, until after I had driven 150 miles. I guess he thought since I made the drive I would buy the car, even if it had a tick. Anyways, I'm pretty sure this car was a trade in, which they probably gave around $2,000 for because the engine has a tick. Now they are trying to sell the car for almost $9,000. The fact that this dealership is trying to sell a car with a tick and lying about its cause, if it was carbon build up they could have ran a cleaner through the engine to take car of it, is wrong. I will never come back here to look at a car, they're not trustworthy.

This review is for James Lee who helped us in our car purchase at Capitol Kia.

Let me start out by saying that we really dislike the whole car buying process (everyone knows what it is so I won't explain).  James made our experience buying a car so much different than what we usually encounter.  He carefully explained all of the cars we were interested in and the pluses/minuses to each and was respectful of our budget. He was not pushy at all.  We took along my in-laws who are Korean and they were very pleased that James spoke fluent Korean to them.  Having James available to explain things in both Korean and English was a plus!

I know it seems nit-picky, but James always wore his seat belt while we are on test drives.   There are so many sales people that don't wear their seat belt on test drives which bothers me for a number of reasons.

When it came to negotiating, James was professional each step of the way and outlined the costs of the vehicle very clearly.  Ultimately, we purchased a Kia Sportage which we have been driving for the past two weeks and we really like it!  We were also considering the optima, but with the extra cabin space and sitting higher on the road, the Sportage was really the best choice for us.

I would like to mention that we first visited a Kia dealer north of us.  Unfortunately they treated us so poorly and were so pushy that we were forced to look elsewhere to San Jose (which I'm really glad that we did because James exceeded our expectations).  

We really appreciated that James used every moment to explain the car features, show us different options, and help us find the right car for us.  

We are %100 satisfied!

I have changed my ratings for this dealership 3 times in the past year. It went from a 4, to a 1, and now a 3 (2.5 actual).

My first experience was great, since I was very sure to ask specifically for work to be done in a certain way due to my poor experience at Crapamonte Kia (see my other reviews) and the service i got from Capitol Kia was outstanding and quick.

My 2nd to last visit/experience left me disappointed for being charged for something I technically didn't need or shouldn't have been charged for, and the service department didn't to accept fault about their mistake (please see my picture about being diagnosed for a needed service but then being told it was a mistake when i confronted them)

After not being able to resolve the issue with the service advisor or the service manager, i posted a negative review on Yelp based on my experience.

Fortunately for me, the General Manager, Pedram F. of Capitol Kia came across my review and contacted me personally. That was very nice of him and I got to explain my frustration and disappointment. He listened attentively and told me he would speak to his team to make sure things are done properly. In fact he took care of the issue, and followed up with me to make sure things were taken care of.

That kinda customer service from a general manager does reflect on putting customers first. I hope the service advisor and service manager (Julie) were just as accommodating and accepting fault and i'd be a happier camper.

At least this situation ended in 2 positive outcomes. 1) I (and you should too) need to make sure you either verify the diagnosis or get a second opinion for ANY service work whether you're at Capitol KIA or any other dealership/mechanic. 2) Pedram went out of his way to get involved in the situation, contact me personally and let me explain things in my own words rather then going by the service orders or just his service department. I appreciated that very much.

I had a great experience with Elizabeth at Capitol Kia this week!  She was professional but personable and not the typical frustrating to talk to sales person I had seen at other dealers.  We already knew what car we wanted when we got to her so she basically helped finish the deal, negotiate our trade in price, and personally delivered our car to us by picking me up from the airport on a Sunday night so I would not have to take my Monday morning to drive the one hour each way once again to San Jose.  I have been texting and calling her mobile and getting quick and effective responses.  I love the '13 Sorento we bought and feel like I have a new friend who sold it to me.  Highly recommend Liz!

Great experience from start to finish at Capitol Kia.  I pretty much knew that I wanted a compact, low maintenance car with great gas mileage, however I was deciding between a few different makes.  

Bomdad let me take a Rio for a test drive and just looked at my ID and didn't do the whole photo copy and possible run your credit dance that most dealerships do.  He just looked at it and gave it right back to me.  He was friendly, but didn't try to do most of the talking like most salesmen do.  He let me talk and listened to what I was looking for.  We then went back into the office to check out the inventory and I didn't feel as if he was hiding anything from me.  I told him that I was shopping around and just wanted to test drive a few and he wasn't pushy and didn't try to hold me hostage.

I went across the street to Hyundai and got the complete opposite experience.  I test drove the Accent and the salesman did all the talking, saying irrelevant things like I should get a white one because I am a girl and I would look good in it.  Funny, I didn't remember asking him his opinion.  

We went back to his desk and the first thing he asked me was what he had to do to close this deal.  I told him straight up, I wasn't ready to talk price and that I still wanted to test drive a few cars.  He kept talking and bringing up points that I wasn't considering, like the fact that he drives a Hyundai and that this would be a great car for all my client meetings that I travel to, which I don't have to travel at all for work.  Talk, talk, talk and he ended up talking me into going right back to Kia.

I called Bomdad and told him my price and it was a done deal.  No haggling, no tricks, no trying to sell me their financing, no extended warranty talk, no extra bs rain guard coat.  I told him what I was looking for and he delivered.  

Another salesman Gil also helped me with the process in explaining the ins and outs of my car, filled up my gas, and made the whole process easy and painless.  Hopefully, I will go back to upgrade to the Optima in a few years.  Thanks again guys!

We stopped by last weekend to do a test drive of the Sportage. The experience was just fine. Sales people at this dealership (at least when we were there) seemed really young which is refreshing as some of the older dudes at other dealerships have been selling forever and know all the nasty tricks to pull when trying to get a customer to purchase. We didn't feel pressured and were able to drive the car both on the street and highway to get a feel for how it handled.

I know economy is bad and my review impact someone's living, so I really hate to give bad review. But Capitol Kia hasnt left much of a choice for me.
Me & my wife went to Capitol Kia took test drive of Optima & kia Soul, We liked sales person, liked both the cars and then decided to go for Optima. Sales person run my credit score and it came out fine. And then store manager said if you commit to buy car then only he can tell price. So essentially he wanted us to sign on buyer sheet without a price on it. I said forget it and walked off.
It was utter waste of 3 hrs of our time.

Next day we went and purchased a hyundai Sonata from Capitol Hyundai, and thats when the fun started.
We start getting perculier spam emails from Capitol kia. Upon first email I informed them that I am not in market for car any more... but these mails continue till now..

If you are women shopping for cars on their own, I would highly recommend not going to these guys, they may play some tricks and push people to buy cars on inflated prices.

I went with a friend of mine to Capitol Kia to get an oil change and service on her new Kia Soul that she purchased here. I have never purchased a car from them but I was amazed at how friendly everyone was!. The service attendant, Vicki was the sweetest thing. They were quick, estimated the time perfectly, and answered all of my friend's questions. They really know how to operate a dealership... just wishing the dealership that sold me my F250 was half as helpful, honest and friendly as the staff at Capitol Kia. Very impressed.

Came by to test drive the new Kia Optima 2.0T due to the $25 Test Drive offer from Kia Motors America. To my surprise, the vehicle was pretty nice and my salesperson, Jonathan, was a-ok.

For $30k, the Kia Optima offers a lot for the money. On the other hand, there's still stigma associated with Kia...even the previous generation Kia Optima left a lot to be desired.

As it was towards months end, Jon started getting aggressive by begging for the sale which was simply awkward.

I had a really good experience here. My wife and I just bought and Kia Serento SX AWD. The car is awesome and what a good deal! We dealt with William and he was very friendly and relaxed to be around. He was not pushy and was very patient with us. This was my wife and I's first "big purchase" and first new car so it was a big deal for us. They really seem to care about customer service and I feel very comfortable contacting them for any questions or concerns.

About one month after this review, I received a threatening message from Elizabeth, the Capital KIA's salesperson that screwed me over. Here is the exact message from her: "I really wish you were an honest person. We have a saying in Vietnamese troi se co tra thu cua ho. Not a good place to be... Especially over money... Do the right thing and redeem your soul. There is only 2 place to go when u die....where do u want to be..." The Vietnamese part in this message translates to: "God will have his revenge." For proof that I am not fabricating this, I have taken a screenshot and posted it in the photo section of this page.

I was ready to move on and leave this whole mess behind me when I read this message. This really caught me off guard, I never dealt with a salesperson who would actually get out of her way to threaten a potential customer (I was still considering to work with the GM despite what had happen, but not anymore). The cult-like language she used both infuriated me and scared me. I really have no clue what she is capable of and I was really considering reporting this to the proper authorities for my safety.

Bottom line is,  the only dishonest person in this whole ordeal was Elizabeth herself by committing to a price and not honoring it. And the message that she wrote just reaffirms the type of a person she is, how unprofessional she is and that she is a HORRIBLE idiotic salesperson. This is more than enough to show you why you should AVOID HER at ALL COSTS if you decide to go to Capital KIA. But just to be safe... you should just avoid Capital KIA completely. Elizabeth is the Internet Sales Manager there... If this is how a Sales Manager acts... Imagine what all her employees will do when you disagree with them.

This was my first time dealing with capitol Kia, and I could have not been more pleased. I worked with a gentleman, Bomdad Pourabdollah. I met with him several times looking for a specific car. When he was able to find the car I was looking for he gave me a call and set up an appointment. Long story short, I left the dealership in the exact car I was looking for and had the best experience buying a car I've had yet. I highly recommend capitol Kia and ask for Bomdad!

Recently leased a new Kia, which as car buying goes, was fairly easy and straight forward.  I purchased a black car at 10 pm so it didn't have time to get detailed.  The next day, I noticed that there were scratches on the door handle and drivers door, and a scratch on the gas indicator lens on the dashboard.

Ive had the car for 5 days now, and my salesperson said to bring the car in to be detailed when I had time, so I went in today.  Service buffed out one of the scratches, but couldn't get the others.  Since its a lease, the service manager went to financing to see if they would cover the scratches or replace the scratched lens.  

The short answer is no.  

When I choose a dealership, I choose them for their service.  The message sent today was that once you finish the paperwork, you're on your own.  

You can buy a car anywhere, but would I come back to have my car serviced here?  After that experience, probably not.

Update:  Withing hours of posting this review, the GM called to try again.  I'll amend my 2* rating to three for promptness.

Everything about my experience was great.  I love my Optima Hybrid.  The purchase process was friendly, fair and fast. I believe that bad car buying experiences are because buyers are expecting the worst.  I told these guys what I wanted; they went and got it.  The whole purchase was open and honest and I got a very fair deal.

Capitol Kia was fantastic. Hands down one of the best experiences I've had when procuring a vehicle. Ask for Jonathan Schwartz ! He was fabulous. He understood our limitations w/ our 3 1/2 year old son and helped to expedite the processing of our paperwork. Jon was friendly, informative, patient and overall very genuine.

Kia in general was best of class.

The only downside is that the process does take a long time (even tho Jon did a great job of rushing it)... But that is everywhere you go :)

I've just purchased a Nissan Sentra 2009 from Chad Lopes. The customer service was very patient in regards to my selection on vehicles due to price ranges and low gas mileage. He found a perfect replacement to the previous car I owned which had low gas mileage but broken head gasket. Not only does the car run perfect, but the down payment was extremely low. Only 500 dollars down and the payments were similar to my last vehicle (3000 down payment) Seriously could not find a better deal than that. If you need a reliable vehicle with a low down payment I would definitely recommend this place.

After visiting Kia in Stevens Creek and Serramonte (terrible exp.), we came here and ended up with a pretty good deal ($3K off invoice on Optima SX which equals $5K off MSRP).

We came in with a price quote and the negotiations did not start off smoothly.  The Asian finance manager tried to jack up the monthly payment even though the email from them had a lower amount.  I called out his BS and after a couple rounds of haggling he finally agreed to give us the correct monthly payment. He even offered an additional discount when I complained about the disposition fee which was nice of him.

I want to thank the internet director, Willie, and the finance manager, Mark, for being easy to talk to and  fair.  I highly recommend working with these two guys.

Buying a new car isn't on the top of my "Fun Things To Do On a Saturday" list, so it's fair to say I headed to Capitol Kia with a little trepidation last weekend.  But my anxiety started to lift shortly after calling the dealership on the way in to inquire about their inventory.  I wasn't forced into a "press 1 for this, press 2 for that," but instead was connected immediately with an actual person, and she was fantastic right away.  Extremely friendly and actually enjoyable to talk with, she found the exact car I was looking for and arranged for it to be delivered the same day, even before knowing for sure that I'd buy it.  When I arrived at the dealership, I was greeted by the person with whom I'd spoken with a warm, friendly smile.  I was still on high alert for the slimy feel that most car dealerships give me; I kept waiting to feel signs of "this is a bad idea - get out of here as fast as you can while you still have your wallet," but I never once felt pushed or pressured.  I mean, their business is selling cars and they have a job to do, so it's not as if they aren't motivated to make a buyer want a new car, but it was never overbearing or intimidating.  And really, you can tell a lot about a place by the other patrons; at some of the other dealerships I'd visited, when I looked around I saw a lot of frowns and you could feel the stress in the air.  It was the opposite at Capitol Kia - everywhere I looked people were smiling, laughing and having fun.  You can't fake that.  If you're looking at a new Kia (and you should be; they're awesome cars - love my new Optima EX Turbo!) I'd highly recommend going to Capitol Kia.

I just got a 2012 Kia Optima EX yesterday and I love it! Everyone at Capitol Kia was so nice and friendly. I went through TrueCar it find this Optima. I love the "No haggle" process. Willie, Internet sales manager, met us promptly and he was so friendly and kind. We found the car we were looking for and test drove it. It was a dream! The Optima EX was very smooth and quiet. I don't write many reviews......I actually haven't written ONE review yet, but I felt I had to write a little something about this place. We all pretty much do the same thing when we buy a car, its a major purchase, and we want to be smart about it. We research the heck out of the vehicle, then after we've done our homework, we head to a dealership in hopes we can get what we want at the price we want, and in the process, not get screwed over. Easier said than done? Well, in my case.....

I knew what I wanted, a 2012 black KIA Optima EX with gray interior. Why a KIA? Because after comparing it to Toyota, Nissan, Honda, etc etc, I discovered that the Optima was head and shoulders above the rest. Anyway, I live in Fremont, and I have two KIA dealerships closer to my home. At most dealerships, you end up in a stressful situation while haggling over price, options, etc etc etc. Not here! Margo is great, she was not pushy at all, she is very knowledgeable about the cars, and she was able to get me the exact car I wanted at a price that no other dealership could beat. Elizabeth C(sales manager) is also awesome, she made sure I would be well taken care of even after the process was over, and she was right. They don't sell you a car, send you on your way, then don't forget about you. They've kept in touch, which I appreciate..

This review is for the service department. Bought a brand new Kia Sedona minivan from another dealer, Kia of Stevens Creek. Within a few hundred miles, I started experiencing a brake squeal issue. After 2 trips to the original dealer and some supposedly substantial " fixes", the squeal did not go away. In fact, if anything it was somewhat worse. To make things even worse, they said that that, short of changing the brake pads, nothing could be done and that they would rather not do that as the noise was "minor". Stevens Creek Kia has an idiot of a mechanic (Matt) who told me that he could not even hear the noise for the most part, which was either complete BS or he was hard of hearing. To me it was obvious that the noise was not at all minor.  So I called Kia corporate and they suggested that I go to another dealer, so I took my car to Capitol Kia. I was having my car shipped to NY in a week's time due to my new job and wanted to have the problem resolved before I left.

At Capitol Kia, the service was unbelievably good. The service director Stuart Draper was very pleasant and professional. He rode with me in the car, acknowledged that the brake noise was indeed at unreasonable levels for a brand new vehicle, and immediately got his mechanic (Ken) to figure out the real problem. They took apart the front, right side brake pad and showed me what the problem was. In addition they also demonstrated to me how the hack job that Stevens Creek Kia had done on that brake pad had actually made the issue worse. They did not have new brake pads or rotors in CA but Stuart expedited them from GA and got them installed just 2 days before my car transportation date. The brake noise went away completely and everything was very good until the night of that day, until I started getting the brake noise again- this time it was less pronounced but present nevertheless. So, the next day (the day before car shipment) I took it back to Capitol Kia and once again, Stuart and his team were just as pleasant and helpful as previously. They found that there was some glaze and brake dust issue in the rear, right side brake pad and resolved it within a couple of hours. And now, due to their timely troubleshooting and perfect fix the vehicle is completely noise-free and I have bee able to transport it with complete peace of mind.

In my opinion, Stuart Draper, is the best service manager I have worked with. And he has an excellent team at Capitol Kia- Vicki Edmonds (the first level service specialist) and Ken (the technician). They solved not just the original problem but the problem that was exacerbated by Stevens Creek Kia, the dealer that I bought the vehicle from. And for all this, they did not charge a dime. Of course the car is still under warranty but they worked with Kia corporate to ensure that everything was still free, given that brake pad replacement is a big deal.

If you want your Kia serviced in the south bay area, go to Capitol Kia. Don't even bother with Stevens Creek. Trust me, its worth it even if it's somewhat farther away from where you live. The Capitol Kia service team is 100% thorough, professional and very pleasant to work with-you cannot go wrong with Stuart Draper and his team.

Let me tell you about my experience at Capitol Kia in San Jose. If you're like me and do not like to read long drawn-out reviews, let me give it to you straight: Go to Capitol Kia! Go see Greg Uhley. Start to finish it was a very positive experience: from introduction to test drive, from decision-making to financing. I bought an awesome Kia Optima EX. My wife and I love it!

Here's the long review for those who are interested or have the time:
I had shopped about quite a bit online and made my rounds through much of the auto mall on Capitol Expressway. As I narrowed my research it became obvious my decision was going to bobble between Hyundai, Nissan, Toyota, and Kia: More research, test drives, etc. Now it came down to Hyundai vs. Kia. Body styling and cosmetics aside, you're getting the same product & warranty... so, what made the difference? Greg Uhley. (I guess that's a "who"!)

Now, my decision-making process is long, so Greg and I spoke and met over 3 different days. He was ready to make the sale on the first day -- as any good salesperson is -- but, he was patient and informative. In my book, all great salespeople are great listeners first; given this, Greg is a salesman of the highest order. We found the make and model I wanted and sealed the deal. I purchased a most awesome Kia Optima EX; my wife and I love it!

By the time I had the key/fob in hand, Greg had introduced me to the entire service staff and had scheduled my first service appointment. While I felt I was getting special treatment, something tells me this high-level of customer service is the status quo with Capitol Kia. Go to Capitol Kia, you will not be disappointed!

So a few days later after taking the car home, we had some problems ... not with the car itself but with the financing bank and the dealership. I was over my head frustrated (especially this all happening before Christmas which brought many tensions and arguments between my husband and I), I decided to email Jeremy the General Manager at KIA. Although I never got a response back (I would have really appreciated a response though to let me know what was going on), I guess behind closed doors, things got changed and done. And after all the running back and forth my husband did to the dealership (among the Christmas shopping and errands he already had to do), he was told to come in and sign new papers that reflected the changes made. I honestly, do not blame Chad that helped us in the first place, he did what he could to help us and get us situated, it was the bank that made everything really complicated. But all in all, I am glad that Jeremy,or whom ever did whatever they did, to make things right but truly wished we did not have to go through any of it all.

I'll say this, even after going through all this with KIA, I'd come back here if/and when I need another car because even with the hassles and complications, I appreciate what these guys did for us and although I don't know what they did/do to make things right, I can honestly say that they go outta their ways for their customers.

These guys were great. I used consumer reports and to get a guaranteed price for my new Kia Sorento so when I walked in I already new what I was going to pay and I knew it would be a good price. Greg let me drive a bunch of different cars until I settled on the EX V6. The car is amazing. I wanted to buy the car as a surprise for my wife for Christmas and they were more than helpful letting me keep it there overnight and come to pick it up Christmas Eve. I wish they had found a bow for me but it was kinda last minute so I can't fault them for that. Greg even knocked off some more money to get me below the "lowest price" on Zag! So I would get the car below what I was expecting to ever pay for it and then he threw in some extra stuff after I agreed to buy the car "because it was the holidays"! This place really knows how to take care of its customers and I wouldn't hesitate going back in the future. I already have my eye on the Optima for myself :)

I recently helped my mom buy a new Kia Rio. The whole car buying experience at Capitol Kia was relatively painless, as far as car buying experiences go. And everyone we interacted with at the dealership was polite and able to answer most questions.

I went through , which got me a price I was happy with. Then I called and setup an appointment with Susana Torres at the dealership, who was very nice and accommodating throughout the entire process. She came in on her day off to help us out.

The only thing that could have made the experience better was if there was a bigger selection on the lot , but they had been selling the Kia Souls and Rios really well so they barely stayed on the lot. Guess I can't blame the dealer for being too good at selling.

And if we lived anywhere close to Capitol Kia I would encourage my mom to take her car there for service as well.

The finance guy was also nice and helped us get discounts we didn't know we qualified for.

Overall I was very happy with the experience and would recommend Capitol Kia to others. Susana in particular was very pleasant and easy to work with.

Just went to Capitol Kia today to test drive a Kia Soul and wasn't planning on actually buying the car yet. We were approached by MK Doshi who took the time to show us some of the cars that were available and this was the first time I felt no pressure when buying a car. He was great and the experience was a lot better than the others I've had when trying to buy a car. The process was a lot faster and smoother. I definitely would recommend this place if you plan on purchasing a Kia or any other car for that matter. I love our new Kia Soul. It's wonderful and drives really well. My wife and I had a great buying experience experience with Capitol Kia and virtually everything went smoothly.  

Earlier in the week, I emailed Capitol Kia with a VERY specific model request and included a fairly ambitious initial offer.  Susana Torres responded quickly and after some very brief negotiations, she met/exceeded my initial offer (well below dealer invoice).  By the end of the email discussions I had a full item-by-item breakdown of all the costs (including taxes and fees) so there weren't any surprises when we came in.

I want to take a moment to commend Susana's FANTASTIC salesmanship.  She responded to emails within mere minutes (even late at night and after standard dealership hours) which was in sharp contrast to other dealerships who wouldn't even bother to reply via email (or would take DAYS to get back to me).  I'm especially appreciative that Susana was willing to negotiate via email -- this saved me a ton of time.   Furthermore, she wasn't ever pushy (something I can't stand and see far too much of in car dealerships).   She also followed up multiple times AFTER the purchase to ensure our satisfaction.  Jeremy (General Manager), if you're reading this, give Susana a raise!

My only complaint (if you want to call it that) would be the final closing process with the Finance Manager (Mark Hatefy).  He was quite friendly but kept pushing for us to get the extended warranty / additional maintenance.  I get it - I know that the dealership wants to make money and that add-on maintenance packages like this can be "mutually beneficial" for everyone.  At the same time though, we had to tell Mark "No thanks" three separate times before he stopped.  My dream "5 star" yelp experience would have been for the finance manager to never try to sell me on anything else.  Just let me sign the papers and be done.

To be fair though, I have seen this same EXACT scenario happen at EVERY dealership I've ever been too so I'm not really that surprised that it would happen here.  And in the long run, it didn't really hurt the sale or my opinion of the dealership.  

Ultimately, my wife and I are quite pleased with the purchase we made.  The price was GREAT, negotiations were quite pleasant, and service was good,   I'd definitely recommend this dealership (and any others in the DGDG group) to people looking for competitive and friendly service.

The service here was fantastic! I would like to give a special shout-out to Elizabeth Czahar and Bomdad! Elizabeth was incredibly busy at first with other customers since we were just dropping by to test-drive, so she had Bomdad assist us with the test driving. Bomdad was very accomodating in searching for what we wanted, suggesting different models that fit our changing demands. When we were able to talk to Elizabeth, even though it was late and close to closing time, she took her time to make sure we got what we wanted. Elizabeth, Bomdad, and the finance person (sorry, didn't catch his name) all stayed to help us seal the deal. We didn't leave until almost two hours after closing time, but they all took their time to accommodate our needs. We are very happy with our experience buying a Kia Soul 2012 at Capitol Kia.

After submitting our request for a white Soul to several of the Kia dealerships in the area, Elizabeth Czahar confirmed that she could get the exact vehicle we wanted.

Elizabeth and her team were very helpful and professional. A few of highlights from my experience:
1) The price and all applicable discounts was disclosed upfront. No haggling.Yay!
2) They gave us the car with a full tank of gas. I'm not sure if this is customary nowadays, but on my previous 2 buying experiences with other dealers it was not like this.
3) While the Soul comes with a 3 yr bumper to bumper / 10 yr power train warranty, they offered us an extended 10 year bumper to bumper (electrical and mechanical) warranty, which was seriously discounted with our Costco membership. Gotta love the feeling of not worrying about mechanical issues for the next 10 years!

Overall, we feel like we had a great deal and will be happy to do business with them again.

Unlike my prior history of Yelp reviews that are weird, funny, outrageous, or filled with "interesting" stories, I'm going to keep this review short, simple, and to the point (or at least, try to). First and foremost, I never envisioned myself ever buying a Kia in my lifetime. In years past, Kia was a car company you wanted to avoid. However, in recent times, they have really upped their game and are now providing good quality cars at really great values. So I did my research for a couple of months and decided that I wanted a new Kia Optima SX (fully loaded, of course). I sent an e-mail to Capitol Kia requesting more information about this car. Susana replied that same day and asked if I wanted to test drive one. I agreed and I came by the next day to give it a whirl. I loved the car...mainly because I already knew everything about it. I worked with the "closer" (forgot what his name was) in seeing what I could get for the car and the car I was going to trade in. We came to some numbers, but I needed to sleep on it. I came back the next day and did some more negotiating...

...side note: I really hate the negotiation process of buying a car at any dealership. I don't like the back and forth of everything and I always feel like I'm getting screwed over somehow. #EndRant

Anywho, once I felt like I was getting a fair enough deal, I just took it. I drove home with a fully loaded black 2012 Kia Optima SX. I'll miss my Infiniti G35 that I traded in (and it looks like it found a new owner because it's no longer posted on their website), but I'm happy with my new Optima.

I gotta give thanks to Susana for making it a pleasant experience. She's really down to earth and is always there to help if you need anything (even after you've purchased a car). Definitely ask for her! David, who accompanied me on my test drive and explained the in's and out's of the car, was great as well.

We recently bought a brand new 2012 Optima here. We had bad credit, and we didn't think we had any chance of getting approved for enough money for an Optima EX with Premium AND Tech packages. We thought we would probably have to settle for a base Optima LX without anything on it, or maybe a Forte even.

Thanks to Frank in financing however, we left the dealership with the EXACT car we had in mind.

On top of all this, Frank was friendly and laid back the whole time. We liked the fact that he was friendly and personable; it made us feel welcome at the dealership. He made us feel like we were normal car buyers, unlike other dealerships who refused to even attempt to get us a loan. He also offered some great advice about our credit and how to build it up again.  

Thanks for calling in those favors Frank! We'll be enjoying our brand new 2012 Optima EX with premium and tech!

Nothing speaks less of a dealer than when you love the car, are ready to buy but hate the salesman SO MUCH you walk out in minutes.

We were fortunate to get a long test drive in the car alone all over the neighborhoods and highways. My husband and I were able to take turns driving and talk openly about what we liked about it. This car was so fun to drive, so filled with perks, what didn't we like about it?

When we got back to the dealership our feelings quickly changed. Doji who called himself "the floor manager" said he would answer our questions about the technical specs but couldn't even figure out how to sync up the blue tooth and operate the nav system. This is why we came to Kia to look at this model specifically. He said if we bought it someone would show us. Great. . .

We went in to discuss numbers because we were truly excited enough to make a purchase. We were ambushed by an unparalleled degree of negativity. When buying a car you want to hear what they CAN or will TRY TO do for you, not all the things they WON'T do for you. For a model that was a year old that was awfully snooty.

After explaining that I didn't want to pay for an added options package I didn't need he told me the car I wanted on the Kia website didn't exist. With 6 dealers in my area I'm inclined to disagree. "You're never going to get what you want." That was it, we walked out. Even if he was right, I didn't appreciate the attitude. If I'm going to spend $30,000, treat me politely. Buying a car isn't just about the vehicle, with numerous vendors selling the same merchandise it's about buying from someone you like and trust - end of story.

He eventually came running after us as we were pulling out asking us what price we would go for and when we agreed to come back inside for him to make good on that offer we were denied again. "That's simply impossible." Fine, he should have just left us alone.

The whole experience soured me on the car. I found reasons not to like it. Is it too big? Is KIA a car I can really see myself in? Would I like the VW cc better? I wasn't thinking about this until my encounter at Capitol Kia. They are doing a disservice to Kia Motors. If you like Kia try a different dealer because their cars are pretty sweet.

My car purchasing experience was great. The deal went down very quickly, smoothly, and with only one minor hitch.

1.) I called my old credit union back East to get pre-qualified for a car loan. (And with an excellent rate!)

2.) I'm also a member of TechCU here in San Jose, which offers a car buying service free to members. So I went online and filled out the form on a Thursday morning. I knew exactly which car I wanted: a Kia Sportage SX (turbo) in red with the premium package (leather, moon roof, etc.), and satellite navigation. By that afternoon, the car buying service called me back: Capitol Kia had the best price.

3.) The very next day, Greg from Capitol Kia delivered the red Sportage SX to my office by lunch. I signed a bunch of paperwork and 10 minutes later, that was it! Greg kindly offered to go over the features of the car, help me setup my phone's Bluetooth connection, show me how to setup the Sirius channels, etc., but I had to go to a meeting, so I figured it out on my own. (It was easy.)

The one minor hitch was that my name had been misspelled on the paperwork due to a miscommunication with the car buying service. So Greg re-drafted the paperwork, stopped by my office again for my signatures, and it was all set.

This was a great car buying experience. I strongly recommend going through a car buying service like I did to avoid the negotiations and hassle.

Greg was always very polite and professional, so I'm glad I got to work with him on this process.

I'm all about being quick and efficient.  So when it came time to buy a few cars for my company i sent an online requests to a few local car dealerships.

I was surprised at how quickly Susana got back to me....long story short, we bought a fleet of cars from her.  She is very responsive to emails, phone calls and text messages.  She is very experienced with dealing with companies and large amount of purchases, leasing etc.

She worked so well with me even texting me pictures and helped drive one of the cars back to the office at 11pm at night.  That's dedication!!

My husband and I have been leasing cars for the last 10 years.
Captiol Kia has been one of the best experiences we've had.
Not only were they professional, extremely helpful and fast in dealing with us - they have the largest selection from Sacramento on down to the South Bay. In fact, our first home as a married couple was just 5-7 minutes from the automall.

We are currently from the Sac area and drove 2.5 hours because Capitol Kia matched the deal we wanted, with the techno orange 2011 Kia Sportage SX we fell in love with.

We sent the email on Saturday - and Capitol Kia not only responded to our email inquiry that day, they secured a phenomenal deal with us. We literally picked up the car the next day. Sweet!

Perhaps a testament to the Kia design/cars - they can sell themselves.

I started looking for a car months ago on , and took my time to narrow down my search to something in my budget and that was a good drive. I settled on a Kia Forte Koup. I sent out requests for quotes for the SX or EX in Black or Grey. They had both in both colors and quoted a decent price. I decided not to wait for the weekend when there are more people and went on Friday, which was a good move. Greg, The Internet Sales Manager, passed us off to Liz once we got there. She was friendly and answered all my questions promptly. It turns out my sister had met her in a former career, and they were busy talking about it during the test drive. Liz pointed out the features of the car and I agreed and told her I was aware of most of the specs of the EX and SX. I told them I was interested in the vehicle but was working on financing. I believe it was Greg who asked me what they'd have to do for me to buy it that day. I said come down in price and if they could come in under my monthly budget for a car payment. At which point their financing guy came out and we worked the numbers. They came down in price, I came up in down payment and they gave me a rate that fit my budget. During the paperwork they detailed the car and tossed in a few extra that usually other dealers nickel and dime you for. When I got home and added up the extras it was a few hundred dollars more worth of stuff.

So the short of this is: Capitol Kia made the entire process of buying a new Kia about as pleasant as possible. They were willing to work within my budget and never tried to steer me to anything else. Liz made us feel very comfortable and after the sale took the time to go over all the cool features of the car including helping me set up the bluetooth sync to my phone. I don't think I could be any happier with the experience and Capitol Kia.

I needed a car. I was looking for a couple of months and decided on a model and searched Craigslist until I found one that seemed like a good fit for me. I sent an email and heard back within a few hours. I initially spoke with Chad who asked if I could come in that day. I didn't expect to purchase a car that day, so I was like, "oh, I'm not ready!" Then I got home and realized that I really needed a car.

One of the best things about Capitol Kia is that they are opened until 9pm. I rented a Zipcar and I got there a little after 8pm and spoke with Matt. I tried the car I went there for and didn't like it much. Saw another car (which I also saw on Craigslist) and fell in love. By 10:30, I had a car. Luis, my finance manager, stayed late to help get all the paper work done and answer stupid, first time car buyer questions without hesitation.

Now I had to figure out how to get back to San Jose to pick up my new(ish) car. I called the next morning and asked for a courtesy pick up from Cal Train. No problem!

The guys who work at Capitol Kia are friendly and down to earth. They heard my concerns and didn't sugar coat anything. Nor did they try to talk me into a more expensive car or something I didn't want. I would recommend visiting Capitol Kia for a new Kia or any of the used cars they have on their lot. I'm happy I did.

Walked in Friday night at 8 just wanting to test drive the sorento. Walked out at 11 with a 2012 model!

The sales staff is great - helpful and very patient. What I like the most was their willingness to work with us. I've bought a few cars before and we didn't have to go back and forth for hours here. They want to move these cars!

I worked with Greg - he's a no nonsense guy. Got the deal done. And he also got me good value for my trade-in.

My man Luis (the finance guy) closed the deal in less than 30 minutes.

As for the car itself - it's awesome. It rides so well for an SUV. I was looking at the Acadia and MDX, but seriously, this car kills on value.  The technology in the dashboard is sweet. It will spoil you. Bluetooth is pretty good (better than my Infiniti G37). Wireless iPhone connection - so I can listen to my music without a wire. Touch screen interface. And a built in hard drive. Oh btw - it's a spacious car with 3 rows of seats.

If you want real value out of your next car go check out these Kia's. I was a doubter, I am now an owner. Go to Capitol Kia bc the staff is great!

OVERALL: I am happy with my experience. I don't like dealerships but the salespeople were very friendly and helpful.  Some of the finance people could be a bit friendlier, but I guess people are allowed to have some bad days.  They are a new dealership so maybe they didn't have all their information straight, but the general sales manager was helpful and got things sorted out quickly.

I was a first time car buyer and the sales people were VERY patient with me as I read through everything and asked a million questions.  I had used ZAG's car buying service so we agreed on a price fairly quickly, although I found some errors in their price calculation (always double check) that were quickly fixed.

My experience with the finance people was a bit different.  It was nice that they didn't push any extras on me (extended warranty, GAP insurance, etc), but one thing that troubled me was that I was given very different information about some of the incentives by the sales people and the finance staff.  Not only were they inconsistent at this dealership, but a number of other dealerships I called as well!  

After badgering them for a day or two, I finally talked to the general sales manager about my incentives problem, and he was very helpful! They said they had to call the Kia Finance main office to straighten out some information, and he got back to me the next day with a solid answer.

I came here with a friend partly because of a $25 offer to test drive the new Optima and partly because I was thinking about getting a Forte 5-door for myself. The service was good; we were greeted the second my right foot hit the pavement while getting out of the car. I told him that we wanted to test drive the Optima and the Forte and he returned within a minute with an Optima LX. The drive was pleasant in that the conversation wasn't dry or awkward and when we were done, he immediately fetched a Forte SX sedan. Having just gotten out of the Optima, the Forte SX was unbelievably loud in terms of road/tire noise. I'm not completely sure if it was because it has larger wheels and stiffer suspension compared to the LX and EX models because I didn't get a chance to drive the other trims, but it was definitely louder than the current Civic.

Anyway, the are where he lost the dealer stars is the knowledge of the cars' features. When I asked him if the SX was louder because of its bigger rims, he stated matter-of-fact-ly that all Fortes had the same wheels, which I knew for a fact was wrong. While he was filling out our test drive offer paperwork, I asked him if the Soul was going to get a better transmission to improve its disappointing mpg figures and he once again stated matter-of-fact-ly "they've already been upgraded. They went from 4-speed to 6-speed". I was staring straight at the window sticker and it said "4-speed automatic". What put me off the most was that when I asked him if I could test the used 2010 Forte EX that was sitting in the front so I could see for myself what the difference was, he pointed out that the different gearshift styling was the difference and left it at that. I understand that potential buyers just aren't given the same attention that same-day buyers are given and I'm glad we got to drive any cars at all given that fact, but I was unsatisfied enough with the overall experience that I've decided to go to Kia of Stevens Creek for my Forte 5-door... unless they're worse, in which case I'll try another dealer or come back.

All Around grrrrrrrreat service!!!!!! My husband and I where greeted by Elizabeth... a very friendly and easy going sales associate who wasn't pushy at all. She let us take our time in every aspect of our purchase. We didnt feel rushed at all. We've gone to other dealers to look at they're selection... But Capitol KIA is a stand out for sure!!!!
