Reviews on Capitol Ford

Suzzie B. | 2015-04-19

I bought my 2013 Mercedes C250 sports here with Oscar Solis, Mckiver and their sales team, I am very impress by the service and their commitment to customer satisfaction at this dealership.  My rating for them has switched from a 4 to a ZERO  and now a 5!

I stumbled into this dealership after shopping all day for a Prius, I was set on the Prius since I loved my Prius so much for the last 6 years. My boyfriend and I dropped into (Capitol Ford) DGDG since he was looking for a truck and that's when I spotted my new car! I was super hesitant  about the car since I consider myself a hippie and kind of feel bad about anything that is not a hybrid. However, I was also opened to change after being T-boned and rolled over in my hippie Prius.

Oscar Solis and sales managers (Mckiver) were very helpful and worked out a price that we can both agree on. Unfortunately, the car did not have 2 keys as we originally thought but that's okay, we should've asked. During the sale, the dealership noted that the tires were fine and that the navigation is included.

The team stayed until 12 am to process the deal and paperwork. I was supposed to pick up my car the next day fully detailed and a full tank of gas. At this point in time, my review was a 4 star review. Maria was our finance person and she was super nice.

On 4/8/15, I called the dealership to check when I can pick up my car and was told that there wasn't navigation in my car which was very important to me and Oscar noted during our test drive that there was navigation in the car. I was very upset and I honestly felt like reporting them to the BBB and any other agencies since I felt like the sold me a car on false information. My review would have been  a ZERO STAR at this time. I probably would've gone on every website and stood in front of their store to warn off people for shopping here. I could not believe that they were going to try to offer me $150 for not having the navigation. I was so upset with myself for buying a car there.

HOWEVER, I stopped by to talk to the dealership that day and this is where I was impressed by the commitment for service and satisfaction. MCKIVER and OSCAR  worked with me and FIXED the problem. They took responsibility of their mistake and said they would install the navigation at the benz dealership during the week. They followed through on their agreement and fixed the problem. I am still monitoring the tire pressure concern and will report back if there are issues. For now, I will enjoy the car and I feel confident in the delivery of promises that Capitol Ford and DGDG group provides.

I would highly recommend shopping here and buying from Oscar and Mckiver!!!

Again I will write same as I did the other this is the third time my fusion has been in the shop and it's not even 3 years old. This time it's because my power steering failed I had to have it towed there thank God I was just backing out of the driveway when it happened. upon my husband investigating it online he saw that there were hundreds of other problems like this and there was a class action lawsuit in the works for 2010 to 2014 fusions,  hybrids and some mercurys. The stories I read were the exact same things that happened to me when the steering failed apparently Ford  won't recall it I am very disappointed in this because I trusted ford . I felt very safe in my car right now they are fixing or I should say replacing the part or wiring they say leaked fluid on it and a pin was un allligned ( just like lawsuit claim) hmmm. but I never again will feel safe in my car thinking the steering will go out on a freeway or something they were been 4 reported injuries due to this problem. I am not blaming the dealership itself although they did scratch my car and told me to cover it up with my license plate once. And once i waited an hour n a half and they didnt do my service oil change etc.  I had to wait another hour. Too many apologies and no compensate for it.

Well I don't know even where to start here. My wife took our Ford Escape in for its scheduled service on 04/08/2015. She was greeted by a service rep named Erika who didn't seem to have a clue. She informed my wife that in addition to the oil change and brakes the car needed a coolant flush and it would cost an extra $ 129.99. I contacted the service manager and inquired why their is an extra charge when we have the premium service plan ad his response was he would get back to me which never happened. Instead Erika calls back and said she was looking into it and let me know. I informed her that I looked directly on the ford website and it is listed as a covered service so I should not be charged for this covered service. The next call I received from Ericka was that the escape needed tires and a quite for them when I asked about the coolant flush she said yes it is covered however it is not needed at this time so it appears they are trying to make up extra services to charge you needlessly and once she was caught the story changed about needing the service. The service only gets worse from there as my wife finally called to see if the car was done at approximately 1600 Hours and was told it was. She arrived at the dealership at approximately 1630 Hours and the paperwork had yet to be completed.  Finally at approximately 1650 Hours the key was brought to her and when she asked where the car was the lot attendant told her it was around the corner and to just press the panic button to find her car. So what great customer service this dealership has. My wife finally finds the car and they couldn't even be bothered to run it thorough the complimentary was either which was standard whenever having the car serviced. To make matters worse on the paperwork it listed an engine oil leak and stated that we should have a diagnostic service done which was not discussed at all and would normally be covered under the extended warranty so now I need to make another appointment most likely at Frontier ford since Del Grande dealership group cannot grasp basic customer service or returning calls. I would not recommend them to anyone else in the future.

My boyfriend and I stopped by here to check out the Escape. First strike, the salesman wasn't aware of what was in stock. Second strike, the salesman didn't listen to what I wanted in a car. Third strike, after turning down their offer (which wasn't anywhere near what I said I'd pay) AND trying to get me to buy a car with NONE of the options I wanted, the salesman AND manager literally chased after us to our car and wouldn't let us leave. Basically harassing me until I told him to back off. Ridiculous! I've had my fair share of crazies at car dealerships. But never anything near this psychotic behavior. I will never go back here. Needless to say, I got a much better car and deal at Mazda.

We went in with a budget in mind - Oscar was great and helped make our buying experience totally painless. We were looking at the Flex SE and ended up getting a deal on the SEL. Very happy campers we are....

This review is long overdue and I cannot say how GREAT this dealership is, along with my salesman Cody!

Cody was the best salesman I dealt with out of the 5-6 different dealerships I contacted (I worked with one as far as Sacramento). I did lots of research before purchasing my "Eleanor" (2015 Mustang Ecoboost) and knew the rates I was going to be offered even from a broker at roadster.com . However, he did one thing different than all these dealerships--offered me peace of mind, a helping hand and NO PRESSURE buying! ZERO harassment, ZERO blow-ups on my phone.

He worked around my schedule, texted/e-mailed me as I requested since I'm constantly working or running errands in my daily life so I can't always pick up the phone. Additionally, he even found me all cars in transit to help match my specific wants-- and guess what? He got me the EXACT model, package and color that I wanted at the BEST price that I couldn't even fathom!

His team was also very prompt, they never kept me waiting and always gave me refreshments when needed. They were all so down-to-earth and friendly but seriously, if you're looking to buy a Ford, COME HERE! They will take care of you!

Thank you for making my dream come true!!

Did I have a good buying experience at Capitol Ford? No! Not to sound cliche, it was the worst car buying experience I have ever had.

I was holding off on posting this review on yelp because they said my $500.00 "purchase fee" at the end of the lease was "optional" and I didn't want to upset them, but let's face it they'll charge me it anyway if I buy the car.  They also made the acquisition fee and purchase fee seem like part of registering and taxes, I feel very deceived about these.

My sales person was nice.

First, they offered $150.00 for my trade in.  I insisted on $500.00.  Later I discovered they added a $500.00 "purchase fee" to my lease, I feel very deceived.  What's the point of negotiating the purchase price when they sneak it into another fee?

During the finance manager discussion, he said I could buy the maintenance plan and lease care plan and change my mind later, so I did purchase the plans, did some research, changed my mind and canceled the next day for the maintenance plan and three days later for the care plan.

The finance manager said he told me during our discussion it would take 4 weeks to get a refund and that the refund would not change my monthly payments, he did not tell me either piece of information.  I waited 5 weeks and called them back.  I left multiple messages for 5 days before someone called me back, and told me to contact Ford.  I contacted Ford, who said they didn't get the cancellation orders.  I then called Capitol Ford back, who didn't call me back for 5 to 7 days.  They told me to call Ford.  This went on back and forth between Ford Credit and Capitol Ford for THREE MONTHS - this is NOT an exaggeration.  It was like a 2nd full time job for me.  Finally Ford got the paperwork and issued the credits MINUS 3 MONTHS of pro-ration.  It took ANOTHER MONTH of me calling back and forth before I finally received all credit due.

After the sale I was treated horribly, nobody wanted to speak to me or call me back, I was talking to receptionists, office managers, other finance managers, it was obviously a game of trying to tire me out so I wouldn't pursue getting my money back.  Really it was one of the worst experiences I have ever had buying anything.  I dread the time when my lease is up in another 2 years and I have to deal with them again.

Monica L. | 2015-04-04

I had the worst experience ever here. I bought my very first car here in '91 and decided to go back and them a shot, but I should have chosen elsewhere.  The whole car buying experience was terrible. Omar was alright at first,  but never explained nothing in detail about the car to us. It like they seen a woman and her son coming in to buy a car and it was a quick sale. The finance guy was having me sign while I was on the phone with the insurance company so I had no explanation of what I was signing, I believe his name is Koosh. I went back a week later to resign the paperwork and the finance guy gave me attitude, once again Koosh. Elizabeth one of the managers was very helpful to me, as for the rest forget it. I would not recommend this dealer to my worst enemy.

Owen S. | 2015-04-04

Great dealer. The salesman Oscar Solis provided valuable information during the entire process of purchase. Above all, they give great discount. I bought a mustang GT. And their price is the lowest among all the dealers I have quoted.

Jacklyn P. | 2015-03-31

I scheduled an appointment to have my ford escape serviced. When I bought the car I purchased a prepaid service package of up for 76,000 miles. I was 20 miles over the 76K and they would not provide the last service free of cost because I was over 76,000. While I understand this is a contractual agreement it just seems a little unreasonable considering the fact for how much I purchased the car for and actually had already purchased the prepaid service. I had attempted early that week to book an appointment at another site. but they had me reschedule as they were unable to provide the service at that time. Which forced me to schedule the appointment 2 days later and thus 20 miles over the limit.

Also one of the women at the front desk  kept complaining about the customer request sthey were receiving over the phone.  Probably one of the top rules of customer services: don't talk poorly about customers in front of other customers.

Overall not impressed. I have been to other ford sites I liked much better.

Communication from advisor to customer is very poor.

Called in on Friday because my AC wasn't working properly and my car only has 24k miles on it.

When i finally got ahold of a service advisor after waiting on the line for over 20 min. The advisor told me it would take all day to properly diagnose the problem.

I don't have a problem leaving it w/ you guys for a whole day just put me into a loaner vehicle then.

Did you buy the extended warranty ?? Me: "No"
Sorry I can't do that then.

Although I am still under the original manufacture warranty shouldn't you cover that. His response was still NO.

Ok ,, I called Fremont Ford where I originally leased my vehicle and they are putting me into a loaner.

So disappointed how I can to travel over 30 miles from now on to get my car serviced when this dealership is less than 5 miles away from my house.

They may be under new dealership but they are still operating in the old school way of doing business.

"Take care of your customers and they will come back"
If you fail to do that then they won't come back.

Irene F. | 2015-03-28

The experience I had here was not terrible, but it could have been better.
I worked with Oscar, based on previous positive reviews from other yelpers, who was pleasant during the 'meet the car' phase. After talking with Oscar and moving on to the contracts and price portion, we were routed to a haughty and rude finance person. In the end, we did not buy the car and two things continue to stand out from the experience: 1) the financial person epitomized the awful car sales person who yells and demeans and 2) during the test drive we were offered a printout of their car maintenance check record. When we asked to see this printout in the dealership building, it suddenly couldn't be found... then we were given the wrong one (for a newer car in better condition that they had already sold)... when we noted that it was not the right one we received baffled looks and disregard. This was clearly a bully tactic. All in all, Oscar was fine, but the entire experience could have been better.

Talia O. | 2015-03-27

I was in the need of a car, and looking for a good deal. I went to Stevens Creek and they gave me the run around. I went online to see if they had a trade in value and a couple minutes later I got a phone call from Oscar. After dealing with those other people it was a nice change to hear a happy voice. My mother, boyfriend and I came to check out a Ford Fiesta. I fell in love with a green SE. They were willing to talk numbers with me. I am a first time car buyer, and 19 so I was concerned about payments and insurance. They worked hard and got me insurance and my car payments all in one. One stop shop! I am so excited, and glad to have gotten such an amazing deal on such a great car. Come here first you won't be disappointed!

My opinion has undergone an about face!

Nervously, I had to bring my 2014 Escape back in to chase down a renegade warning beep. Gary Sefried was my service advisor this time. He couldn't have been more accommodating, persistent and determined to chase down what was wrong and fix it.

In addition to having the warning chime fixed, he had the multi point inspection done and I didn't even ask him to do it!  (My sticking point in the previous review)

He genuinely cared, listened carefully and asked pertinent questions. He not only restored my faith in having my car repaired at a dealership, but has earned my business as long as I own this car.

Thank you Gary, you stand out from the rest!

Buyers be aware!!!!
This is by far my worst car buying experience EVER!!! I decided to lease a Ford Fusion Energy from this dealer as we need the HOV stickers for our commute. The dealer was changing ownership the same week I wanted to sign for my lease. I explained to the staff over and over how my registration and HOV stickers had to be filed promptly as this is the main reason for my purchase. After 8 week of not receiving my license not heard anything I decided to call the dealer. The DMW coordinator who by the way is at a Volkswagen dealer could not locate any records whatsoever as the dealer did not have electronic filing for three weeks during the time I purchased my car!!!   Nobody disclosed this to me as they of course was just eager to cram away another car to a helpless customer. I have now called the DMW lady 4 times and she can still not tell me what the status is of my registration. Any honest dealership should have told me the truth and sent me to another dealer. Not this one! I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. I am calling the Better Business Bureau and Ford North America next next!! Nobody should have to deal with this kind of snake oil business again.

Rigo A. | 2015-03-19

Oscar helped me buy a new 2015 Ford Fusion. He was great! Very honest and helped me find the lowest possible price on the car. I definitely appreciate his service! I fully recommend Capitol Ford because of their friendly/helpful staff and true pricing

Moniqa G. | 2015-03-15

I went in two days ago with the mind set that I would be going to get ideas. Turns out... I bought a beautiful 2015 Mustang. I am in sales myself so I know how things work and I was truly taken care of here and everyone there made sure of that. A special thank you to Oscar who helped me through the long process and being understanding of all my fears with making such a large purchase. Oscar did all he could and succeeded in making me feel good about the buy. THANK YOU FORD!!!! n thank you Oscar

Kevin L. | 2015-03-14

With the help of Tommy, Omar, Jacqueline and Byron, I was able to drive home my brand new 2015 Ecoboost mustang today. I got an amazing deal compared to what other dealerships were asking for.

Every single employee here greeted me and showed me respect. Being only 20, practically every other dealership around the area brushed me off like I was a kid up to no good. I was shopping at other places before hand without my parents. I would show up to an appointment and they would just pass me off to one of the assistants in the front, as though I was wasting their time. This dealership however treats you like family.

For the financing part, absolutely no tricks are played. They lay out a paper in front of you with all the information you need to know about paying for your purchase. There are available options that can be added. There's non of that bullshit other dealerships play where the salesman goes back and forth with the sales manager's office to negotiate a deal.

My buying experience was extremely pleasurable. You absolutely can not go wrong with this dealership. Not once was I pressured into buying anything I did not want. I cannot be any more happy with my purchase today.

Jim T. | 2015-03-03

Just bought myself a brand new mustang 2015. I usually dread going to car dealerships but I got to give props to Tommy Q who helped me find the specific model I wanted and was accommodating throughout the process. I highly recommend  Tommy and his team at Ford Capitol .

Austin S. | 2015-02-23

First off I would like to say I'm somewhat new to the car buying "game" as I'd like to call it but I'm still very aware of salesmen tactics and ways.

Quite possibly one of the worst car buying experiences I've ever had and I didn't even buy a car from these guys. My dad and I walked in looking at the 2015 Mustang GT's and after a few minutes of looking around we found a younger looking sales guy and he asked us what we were looking for. After asking "do you have any automatic GT's on the lot?" His response was "are you buying today?". We told him we weren't sure yet because we wanted to see the car in person and possibly go for a test drive (and also to test out his game) he then said okay and pointed us to the showroom floor where the ONLY auto GT they had was $75,000 and we couldn't even touch because it was already sold...... So why show us that? Again we asked him what else he had on the lot and his response again was "are you buying today?"

At that note we walked out. Personally, I don't think we should have to be buying that day just to be shown around, that's your job isn't it?.... This place is the spitting image of a place who only judges a book by its cover.

OH... and by the way... We WERE buying that day! If maybe you hadn't only cared about making a sale or not and cared more about customer service we would have stayed and quite honestly bought a Mustang. We ended up waking s few doors down to Capitol Chevy and brought home a 2015 Camaro SS. Better luck next time gents!

I just turned in my leased 2013 Explorer and picked up a 2015 Explorer. Thanks to Elizabeth and her team the transition was super easy and the experience was great. I wouldn't purchase another Ford without going to Capitol Ford. I highly recommend contacting the Elizabeth and her team when it's time for your next Ford. With the change to the DGDG family from the previous owners I now have a dealership I can trust.

Samuel H. | 2015-02-19

Accountability and integrity. Two attributes that are unfortunately hard to find these days, but perfectly describe this newest member of the dgdg family and the dgdg family in general. I was very happy to find out that dgdg bought this dealership and I can now bring my newest car purchase to a dealer family I can trust.

I had a transmission/clutch issue with my 2012 Ford Focus (apparently a common issue with 2012 Ford Focus' built during a certain time frame) and had a fantastic experience with the service department.

Chance, my service advisor, was fantastic with explaining to me what the issue was and what they were going to do to fix it (all under warranty). They reprogrammed my PCM and my car checked out fine after that.

However, they also let me know that if I have any more issues, the next step is to order the clutch that is usually the problem if the reprogramming fails (all work was done in accordance with ford technical bulletins and procedures). They also gave me a rental for the entire time.

Upon return there was unfortunately a new issue with the car for which they took full accountability and put me right back into a rental. There were no intriguing questions, attempts to blame me or attempts to diffuse responsibility in any other way. It was a simple, "I'm sorry this happened, but we will take care of it."

Would it have been better if that issue wouldn't have been there upon my return? Sure, but we are all human beings and I understand that accidents  happen. What matters a whole lot more to me is how you handle your mistakes and dgdg did an absolute fantastic job at that.

All in all, thank you very much Chance and Capitol Ford for taking care of me so well and for having integrity and accountability. You have my business.

Tmz N. | 2015-02-17

Bought my car at this location several months ago and the whole experiment were horrible. The sale person gave me a hybrid model instead of the electric/hybrid model that I asked and was shown to. Of course the price was a big different between the 3 models.  Good thing I didn't sign the contract before I double check the car when it came back from "washing".

Today I had an oil change at this location and it took 2 hours to complete. If I went elsewhere, it would take less than 30 minutes.  The oil change supposed to have the "multi point inspection" and rotate tires. The service order surely stated that all the items on the list were checked, fluids filled and tires rotated.  Not sure if they did any of the work or even replaced the oil.  The rims are wheel locked, and one of my rims got a small scratch (prior).  The service person never asked me to give him the key to unlock the rims, how could he rotate the tires?  All the tires were not rotated because the same rim (with the scratch) is still at the same location.

Do not trust this service location or come here to buy car!!!

Cody! He is awesome.

He helped me (& my family as well) to pick right cars (yes we bought two cars at Capitol Ford in two weeks!)  and took me through very tansperant pricing process.

I had very bad experience with a car dealer when last time we bought a car somewhere else in CA. It was my first experience to buy a car from a US dealer. (I'm from outside US).  It gave me hesitation to step into a dealer again. This is one of the reason why I used TrueCar which can give me price at a dealer beforehand and Capitol Ford participates.

Cody gave me clear explanation how the price comes and what will be different according to different equipment options.  It made me comfortable to have conversation on pricing.
He worked hard for me together with Liz, a sales manager at Capitol Ford.

People working at the site are great. I recommend to stop by there if you think to buy any Ford car.

Melinda R. | 2015-02-12

DAVID BRIONES!!!  All I can say is he was the ultimate salesman and after experiencing the lack of customer service at other dealerships I visited during my car search, this guy deserves 10 stars!!  He not only makes the car search fun, but he listens to what you want and did his best to keep me within the budget I wanted.  I had a few demands, (lol) but he was quick to ensure that all was taken care of!  If your looking for a car, look up David at Capitol Ford...he's the funny guy with the mischievous smile on his face...believe me, he will take care of you!  I would definitely buy another car  from this dealership as long as he's there.  Thanks David, for helping me out.

I got a Ford Escape SE from Capitol Ford last weekend. Tommy Q guided me to drive the car and answered all the concerns I had. He is a nice gentleman and his team did  wonderful work! They are so patient to every questions from customer! If my friends will to purchase a car, I will strongly recommend them to Capitol Ford!

Jennifer K. | 2015-02-09

I purchased a car from this Dealership just about two weeks ago. I spent months and months car searching and dealership hopping from Sunnyvale, to Milpitas, to Stevens Creek to Capitol Expressway. I must say this dealership was by far the friendliest and most accommodating from anything I had come across. Tommy Q was the gentleman that helped me with my car and he listened to what I wanted, understood I was on a strict budget and was able to fix every worry I had.  I must say the new owners have made all the difference it was the first time I didn't feel attacked upon walking onto the lot. I purchased a used car and there were some concerning scratches along the front and back bumper. They were not surface scratches(which you'd expect on a used car) but rather deep scratches and cracking of paint.  Tommy got the approval from his manager to get them repainted ! I paid nothing!. After the car purchase was over I was so concerned that would get pushed to the side for the repair part. It was the exact opposite! Tommy still kept in touch with me Via Texting! and updated me until the service team took over. The woman I spoke to her name was Lisa she was amazing!, sweet! and just a delight to speak to on the phone!. if I ever need to purchase a car again I know to come here. This new staff and management team really made me feel at home and what was a stressful horrific experience going from dealer to dealer and being treated awful to such a wonderful experience from beginning to the VERY END.!  HAPPY AND AMAZING! Thank you to the staff at Capitol Ford.

I came to capitol Ford to checked on the SUV 's and I found Martin, Elizabeth, and Byron which they were willing to work with me on the price and I bought a Ford explorer they  make a good team. I really recommend  capitol Ford on your next purchase.. outstanding job guys!!!!!!!

Louie M. | 2015-01-29

Well, let me start off by saying I had the worst experience at Capitol Ford about 3 months ago. I was looking for a Mustang at an affordable price, which seemed unreasonable once I sat down with the salesman. Without going on much more, I walked away from the deal. I recently heard that DGDG had took over ownership so I decided to take another trip out there. HOLY COW! What a difference in everything! From the customer service, to the negotiating on the vehicle. Everything was extremely transparent. I knew about everything before I even got into the finance office. Cody and Liz the manager were great. She really seemed involved in all the customers in their dealership. I am also in sales, so seeing things like that, really push me to recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a car.

Capitol Ford is the place to be. Not to mention their access to like a million used cars. (ok maybe not a million but dang! A lot of used cars)

Ethen R. | 2015-01-28

Cody and Elizabeth were Great! My wife and I needed a new car for our 5th child on the way. We were very hesitant about a ford but Cody helped us and it was a a no brainer. My wife and I
Were convinced and got the best deal. We didn't have the best credit but Elizabeth helped us get a loan and a payment we could afford. Now we are cruzin in our new ford explorer! I Recommend this dealership to anyone and when you get there ask for Cody and Elizabeth!

Vignesh V. | 2015-01-27

I have to say there is a significant difference in customer experience with the change in ownership. The change is almost instantaneous. I walked into this dealership a few days before they were being sold and was left with a very poor customer experience. The salesman was least bit interested to even let me have a test drive unless I guaranteed to make a purchase that day.

A week later, I go in again (as I was at the DGDG buy center next door for my trade-in) and I am treated to a completely different experience. my sales person, Amy, gave me a no hassle experience. They took the efforts to locate the car I wanted and work with another dealer to bring it there but still give me a good deal on the vehicle. The car  (Mustang)buying experience was friendly and easy.

steve p. | 2015-01-26

I am so happy that DGDG bought this  store. The change in service already noticeable.
