It don't matter if you're lookin' for a new appaloosa, calico, or wagon, Armando is the buckaroo to talk to. The boy don't back sass or try to bamboozle nobody. He just rounds up the best dang deal he can do.

And they don't try to scalp ya on all sorts of frills neither. Scott done let me make my x on those fancy documents and got me ridin' my way out of town by sunset.

So take a tip from this old cowboy - if your filly falls over and you need a new buck, go down and see these boys. You'll get a spittin' handshake and back in the saddle in no time.

Their "certified service" sucks!

I took my car for a simple check up. And asked to check on a noise my 2012 chevy cruze was making. It turned out it had a coolant leak, which they fixed, but here comes the interesting part...

After i picked up my car on a friday, i noticed the noise was still there, so i let it go.... But then a few days later as i was driving on the freeway to work, the car started shaking, at firstbi thought it was the road, but then i started losing power on the car, and lost control of it... And almost crashed!!! I pulled to the side opened the hood, and it turns out they left 2 hoses UNPLUGGED!!!

I almost died, thanks to their stupid mistake!!

My experiences at DGDG Chevrolet have been nothing short of amazing.   After my first Impala was totaled by a drunk driver, I was mortified at the thought of having to dive into the used car market again.  Searching on-line was making my stomach curl and visiting other lots, the sales people were more interested in their big sale than what I was looking for. At DGDG, my sales guy Carlos was amazing.  He sat me down and showed me cars that were within my price range and didn't try to hustle me into getting something newer or more expensive. He found me a car that I love! That same day I purchased another 2008 Chevy Impala, very similar to the one that was totaled.  Any issues or concerns that I did have about the car I was purchasing was handled by Todd with the Service team and Carlos.  I have never felt like I had more people on my side, without trying to wring my wallet dry!
A+ service, A+ experience. I am definitely a happy DGDG car buyer.

Marcos was awesome, being fairly new the the car sales gig he was very knowledgable and sincere about the car we were looking at. I enjoyed working with him and was very adamant about purchasing my car from him. Luckily Isaac, the sales manager, was agreeable and was able to meet us at a good price. After a shitty run in at Nissan of San Jose, DGDG Chevrolet on Capital Expressway was able to take care of us and put me in a brand new 2015 Suburban LT. I have to commend Marcos in being able to sell me a car just by showing me a piece of paper LOL. Must be hard trying to sell something that is sitting at another dealership about 2 hrs away. But he did it.

GREAT customer service!! I came in to look at the dealership next door and was disappointed so I walked over and was instantly greeted by Frank. He was honest, and very helpful. I test drove the rogue and was very happy with it, but the price did not agree with my budget. Frank then let me talk to Keith, who tried to work with my mother and I to get the price down and look for other cars within our budget. It ended up not working out because of the price not being able to drop, but I would absolutely buy from this dealership in the future if they had a car in my price range.

Had to get a recall notice resolved, oil change and a drive mode button replaced on my 2014 Chevy Volt.  Came in early on a weekday and Glenn in the Service Dept worked with me quickly and accurately to get things moving as I got there.  Oil change was clean and quick this time in comparison to my last oil change here.  No excess oil on or around opening, down the engine block or on top of the plastics.  Last time I had to do a little bit of a cleanup after a simple oil change when I got home. Car was done including taking care of my recall notice in a few hours.  Shuttle drivers were very courteous and prompt.  I had to come back the next week as the drive mode button was not in stock.  Again, Glenn handled it expeditiously in replacing the part and I was back on the road smiling again.  I am very impressed and happy with the service (especially from Glenn) receieved this time, compared from my last visit about 6 months prior.  I will continue to come to Momentum Chevy.

I bought a 2015 AWD Traverse LTZ and it is gorgeous!  Drives like a dream!  Buying it was a NO Brainer!  Our salesman, Richard (I suggest you ask for him), was literally right there for us from beginning to end.  He took care of us, answering questions, showing all the bells and whistles the car had. Absolutely love these guys! I figured after giving my one-star review on Capitol Ford down the street I should give some well deserved love to the people at Capitol Chevy!

The SECOND my dad and I stepped onto the dealership we were greeted by Carlos Thomas one of the best salesmen I've ever worked with. What I liked about him was the fact that he seemed to actually care about us as people as opposed to just a sale. He assisted us every way he could when we told him we were there to look at the Camaros. He asked us what we were looking for in detail and he brought me exactly what I wanted. Granted, I didn't know too much about the Camaro when j stepped on the lot but he definitely helped in my decision in the end. I decided on a 2015 Summit White SS with about 29 miles on the odometer after we took it for a test drive. He told me I had been the only customer to ever drive it since they got it delivered and I believed him considering most of the interior was still wrapped in the manufacturer plastic. All in all the sale was a breeze and Carlos made everything seem so simple. Definitely recommend these guys to all of my friends and family looking for a new Chevy and if I ever decide to trade my Camaro or buy another vehicle I WILL be going to these guys! My sales person, Carlos Thomas, pleasantly met me at the door, and asked me if I needed help. I provided him with the car that I was looking for and a few minutes later he had pulled the car around for me to test drive. It was freshly washed, doors were opened an music was playing. The enthusiastic presentation the of the car made a great impression. He was very patient to walk me through all the features, and answer any and all of my questions.

After the test drive, I was sold! Carlos was very efficient in collecting my information,and getting the finance process initiated. The whole time making sure I was comfortable, and informed of what was going on, and the next steps.

During the finance process Rudy Madrigal was very upfront and genuine. The conversation was comfortable, and relaxed, yet very professional. He was able to pull together options that suited my needs, and guided me through each form very patiently, and reiterated any areas where I had questions.

At the end of the process, Carlos had the car detailed, a full tank of gas, and had setup the OnStar system. Again, we patiently walked through the features of the car, the OnStar system, answering any last minute questions, and reassuring me that I could call him at any time.

The level of TLC and detail to attention was above and beyond, making it a GREAT car buying experience.

We cannot express how much we love Capitol DGDG!

My finance and I have been shopping for his first car for about 3 months. Myself having a chevy, I recommended him looking into it. Unfortunately as we began truly shopping, we were unable to find the perfect car at the perfect price with a perfect lender. We were a bit discouraged, but a friend who purchased a car from Capitol DGDG a month ago, told us to go there and work with Kevin Rodriguez.

At the time we visited, he was busy but introduced us to his co-worker Andrew Soliman. Andrew & Kevin were stellar! We had been to quite a few dealerships and no one was as kind, courteous, and honest as these guys. We were able to find a great car at an amazing price! Andrew & Kevin really bent over backwards to help us out and help us acquire our new vehicle. We only spent 3 hours there and were out and rolling the same night.

This was my finance's first car ever and it was an amazing experience. I cannot wait to take my chevy in and work with Andrew & Kevin again.

Edgardo is great with the customers. Very patient, as I witnessed with the customer in front of me.
I did come in on a Saturday, so it did take a long time for an oil change and a tire rotation. About 2 1/2 hours. I do appreciate the car being rinsed off. Thank you!
The only thing I found slightly annoying was my radio station was changed. You may want to advise the employees not to touch the radios. I would have been ok with it being turned off.

My husband and I got the TrueCar price of a 2015 Traverse and the best deal appeared to be at this dealership. They called us very enthusiastically and confirmed that they had the exact car we were looking for down to the trim.  Unfortunately, that was not the case. When we showed up for our appointment, the car was not ready and worst of all they didn't even have the car we were looking for!  We were given the runaround and Paul Duran kept pushing us saying we had asked for a vehicle with many more options that was more than $10,000 above what we were looking at.  Paul was rude and pushy.  I do not recommend doing any business with him.  We are serious buyers but apparently were not taken seriously by this man.  Too bad, the dealership is fairly close to my house but would much rather take my business elsewhere, where I will be treated with respect.

BTW We had the same type of experience at Capitol Kia so this horrible behavior must be part of DGDG's "happy buyer" experience, NOT!

This dealership  did not have a problem taking my money for the brand new car I purchased from them.  As soon as I realized that they forgot to give me some accessories.  It has been nothing but a nightmare.  I even spoke with the General Manager  about the issue and he told be he was going to take care of it.  Four weeks later, I still have not heard from him.

Extremely disappointing.  I like the car that I bought from them, but I would never buy from this dealership again.  I paid for an SUV package that included a roof rack, but when I went to purchase accessories for the roof rack (through Capitol Chevrolet), the parts department told me that I would have to buy a brand new roof rack, because the one they had sold me with the initial purchase would not integrate with any of the accessories they sold, and was effectively worthless.  I tried to talk to the sales rep who sold me the vehicle, and then the sales manager, and each of them admitted it was a problem, but said they couldn't solve it, and I would have to talk to the general manager.  After 4 messages for the general manager, I finally was able to speak with him, and he promised to look in to it, and get back to me, but it has now been a month, and despite trying him several more times, he has never gotten back to me.  They don't care about their customers, so my advice would be that if you would like to buy a chevrolet, purchase it from a different dealer that has integrity.

I had talked to about four dealers via email before coming in, Robert Perez was by far the most helpful, starting off our emails by asking me a handful of questions to gauge my needs for a car, and only offering cars that fit my requirements.

When I got in, people were very friendly and when I met with Robert he was great about breaking down all the information I needed to make my decision. I had planned on a 2015 spark LS because of the budget I had to work with, that was going to need to be picked up from another dealer, but he had a 2014 spark LT that he was able to get me a great price on so I didn't have to wait till the next day to come back for the car.

He showed me all the features of the car, which were more than if expected an affordable car to have, got me a better finance rate than I'd gotten from an online lender, with enough time for me to cancel the online funding, and the finance guy was able to get me an extended warranty that was a good price and should make keeping the car as long as I hope to, much easier. When I got home I even got an email from Robert making sure everything was good and letting me know I should let him know if it was not.

I used to rate my car buying purchases by how great Saturn was about being no pressure and friendly, but Robert definitely met and exceeded that standard.

About  2 weeks ago or so we started looking for a new car. Went to  gilroy  chevrolet  ufff...service was not positive there..We decided to go to DGDG dealer Chevrolet. We where looking to lease an Equinox. ..the staff was very pleasant my sales person Mojee Sanson  was very attentive. Cordial and professional  with my mother and I. Really liked the fact that he was very accommodating. No so desperate to sell but made sure we felt confortable.

I recently purchased a car from them. I gotta admit this was the best car buying experience I ever had. It was a breeze. This dealership really lives up-to their motto "Happy customers!!"

A gentleman named Armando helped me with my car purchase. He was very honest on the price and the negotiation. No gimmicks or no dramas, no time waste. He was being very honest and we quickly agreed upon a price. He made all the process painless. Also, the checkout was super fast! I could never imagine an express checkout like that.

Since it was a used vehicle, I noticed a few issues with it and I showed them to him. He made a note of them and assured me that they will be taken care of in a couple of days. And, they did - free of charge.

Another gentleman Tony helped me when I went to the service dept. after a couple of days. Tony was very polite. He immediately took the car for inspection. Also, I told him of another issue that was not noticed on the day of purchase. Surprisingly, he fixed that one too for me, free of charge. I salute their honesty and superior service. As good as it gets!

Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the car buying and service experience with this dealer. Now, I have a great opinion on DGDG and Capitol Chevrolet. Next time, when I am in the market for a car, I know where to go without any hesitation.

I was in and out of the dealership looking for a Chevy Colorado. I worked with multiple guys there just to find the car and get it to the dealership and everyone was pleasant to work with. I worked more closely with Keith. He was very good with breaking down everything, calling me to update me on the status, and keeping me updated throughout the entire process. When the car finally came in, he called me on his day off to tell me it was ready and since it was his day off he told me he had already explained everything to Chris and he would take over everything. I came in and Chris came and greeted us in a professional manner and knew everything that was going on like I originally talked to him and not Keith. I have bought several vehicles and I can say that Chris was the most pleasant person to work with thus far. He was very professional, understanding, and knew what he was talking about. He wasn't one of those salesman that pushes you to just buy, he was caring of my needs and concerns. He made the whole long experience of buying a car that much more pleasurable with his great attitude and calm personality. Everything he was doing he explained in detail so we were on the same page. Where do I start? It all started when I took my car in for a transmission/engine oil change.  What I got was a world of problems.  I drove to work the next day to find white smoke blowing in from the vents.  I stopped and then noticed my whole hood was smoking.  I come to find oil completely covering the motor.  I then checked the oil to find it actually above the 100% mark.  They apparently over filled my engine oil.  

That's not even the best part,  when I take the car in they claim they can fix it. Their "fixing"  it consisted of UV dye and a black light to test for leaks.  Some air fresheners to cover up that smell, because why fix the problem when air fresheners are cheaper.  Oh also a new belt.  They then give me back the car claiming it's fixed. Totally ignoring the fact that my motor is now comprised by their careless technicians mistake.

I'm giving the two stars because I have never seen some one destroy a brand new car that fast.  It's quite impressive. Especially when they are the people I bought the car from with 0 miles.

Just because your at the dealership doesn't mean the work being done is top notch. I need to stop thinking that.  I know Jiffy Lube doesn't do this.

Just remember this review when you go to hand your keys over to Capitol Chevrolet Service Department.

I was interested in a used car I saw there online.  The car had 90,000 miles on it, and I was trying to get a sense of how clean it was cosmetically.  A clean interior and exterior that looks well maintained is important to me.  A red flag was that the pictures were taken while the car had seemingly just been hosed down, so there were water drops all over it that I thought might be a deliberate tactic to cover up imperfections.  Anyway, I lived ~50 miles away, and I didn't want to waste my time driving all the way over if the car was in below average cosmetic shape, because I had already shopped many similar cars and had identified the same model for sale elsewhere in average and above average shape.  

I called Capitol Chevrolet and was referred to a sales person.  I explained to him everything I just wrote, and told him that I understood his job was to emphasize the best parts of each car, but that I needed his honest assessment of how clean this car looked (especially the interior) given its mileage, because it would be a waste of everyone's time if I drove all the way down and immediately rejected it upon getting a close up look.  He said he would go out and sit in the car and get back to me.  Great. He called back a few minutes later and enthusiastically told me it was "very clean" and that he was surprised what great shape the car was in at 90,000 miles and he was sure I would agree.  No hesitation.  No hedging.  Just aggressive "when can I expect you" type standard sales talk.  

I drove there the next day, and the car was not "very clean."  It was not clean.  It was not even slightly below average.  It just looked bad.  It was beat up inside and out.  Lots of stains, accumulated dirt, worn down plastics, scratches, etc.

TO BE CLEAR, I am not talking about the mechanical condition of the car.  It appeared to be in perfect working order. Everything functioned, tires looked good, etc.  I'm not saying they were selling a defective or unsafe car or anything.   I'm also not saying that this condition was necessarily unusual for a car with 90,000 miles on it, though I think it was below average for that mileage.   I'm saying that the guy misrepresented the condition of the car to me over the phone when I made it very clear what I was asking about.  I get that condition is a subjective assessment, but in my judgment you couldn't call this car "very clean" in good faith, especially relative to the kinds of used cars for sale at a big name brand dealership like this.  

If you tell me the car is clean and I show up and it's not, am I going to want to deal with you?  Am I going to believe anything you say from that point on?  No.

I'm new to Cali. Someone hit me and caused an accident. Well because of that I was unable to lift my hood. Some brace was bent. I went in early to Chevrolet service because I was worried my hood might fly up. They had shuttle service, to take me home and pick me up. anyways I was unable to pay 600 plus to fix my car.
Paid 75$, for them to look at it.  I did not know, they did a 28 point vehicle Inspection and wash my vehicle I was very happy with their service and especially Jason Lawton. He is a good guy who will keep it real. Thank you guys for taking care of me. The shuttle drivers was awesome!! Thank you, A. Aguiar  for taking the dent out of my car!!!!

Really liked my buying experience.  Much, much nicer buying experience than when I purchased a Toyota from Magnussens a few years ago.

A week ago I called Capital Chevrolet to gather information on a used car for my granddaughter.
The receptionist transferred my call to their Internet Manager Frank Fletcher.  
He was friendly, and gave me great information about the  used car that I was interested in. However when he found out the car was for my granddaughter, he politely asked me some further questions about her lifestyle. Then he politely and with no pressure gave me great information about his recommendation.
Then to my total surprise, he never once used any hard sell. We ended the conversation simply with him letting me know that he was there if I chose to come in to look at cars. Frank was professional and had great customer service.

Wow, my updated review is for the service department.  I only had one bad experience from the service department, until last week.  I made an appointment at 7:45am and drove up at 7:40am.  There is a lot of confusion where to come in the place to get an appointment schedule or wait for the person to help check you.  Anyways you have to wait for the guy to come to you and I did not get helped until 8:10am.  I tried to use one of the coupons, but unfortunately mine require another type of oil, but usually they give me some kind of discount when I came by, but they threw in a free tire rotation and car wash.  The guy told me it will take 2 hours to do everything and knew I was a waiter.

Unfortunately, the 2 hours ended up being almost 4 hours and finally got the call at 12pm saying my car is ready.  My car was not pulled up, but parked in the parking stall which I do not mind the walk, but got me thinking how long was my car sitting there.  Anyways maybe I shall drive a little longer and go to Momentum Chevrolet and give them a shot.    

One thing to note, you must call for an appointment on Saturday.  For some reason, the schedule assistant does not work on Saturday.

Hands down the customer service here is awesome. I left a different dealership due to bad customer service and came's the best decision I ever made. I have brought my GMC Yukon here twice already for service and each time everyone has went above and beyond for me. The service advisors Jason and Edgardo are AWESOME!!!  Whether I'm spending $3k for service on my vehicle or $25 they gave me exceptional customer service. Mike in service is awesome as well.

I went in for an oil change today without an appointment. They did not tell me I need an appointment nor did they give me a hard time.  They wrote up my service paperwork and even went above and beyond to fix my alarm on my key ring for me with no questions asked. All I got was an oil change and they even washed my suv for free. I honestly felt like family when I walked into this place. They were sooooo busy with customers and yet still greeted me with a smile.  The girls at the service desk were very welcoming and nice as well.

Edgardo, Jason, and Mike you guys rock!  Definitely a class act group of guys and they are the true meaning of customer service and going above and beyond. Thank you guys very much. You have made a lifetime customer out of me and I plan to recommend you guys to all my friends.

After doing a fair amount of research, I knew I wanted a Chevy Volt (that or the hybrid Lexus ES).  I called Ed Bernal and asked whether he had the car with the specific colors and options I had in mind.  He gave me a ridiculously competitive price over the phone.  

A lot of my friends use auto brokers or online services (e.g., cartelligent) because they don't like having to spend hours negotiating prices.  I'm the same way.  Ed made the process incredibly pain-free.  We agreed on a price...I drove down to the dealership to meet him...signed the paperwork...drove away satisfied :-)

That by itself would merit 4 stars.  What makes Ed exceptional is the additional steps he took to ensure that:

* I understood every feature on the car.  The Volt is such a tech-toy joy that it took much longer than I thought it would, but Ed was enthusiastic in answering all of my questions!
* the rebate forms (California, Costco) were completed before I left the dealership
* I met the service team, including all-star member Jason Rulien (I hear Edgardo Oliver is amazing, too)
* I had access to the "bat phone" ANY TIME I had questions

To start off with buying a car has been HELL for me. Not only is it time consuming, but it is also very stressful.  I cant really explain how amazing my experience has been at Chevy with sharing a little bit of embarrassing back story on myself. I have BAD credit, like really bad credit.. which is why looking for a car has been hard for me, especially with all the "needs" I have to have with my new car! I have a 2 kids and needed a lot of space, and I am a single mom so I also needed it to be reasonably priced. I wanted something reliable, and because my credit was bad due to my recent divorce I really wanted it to be IN MY NAME ONLY! I was completely willing to bit the bullet and take the high interest rate just so I could build my credit back up. Soo.. with that said my journey started at Nissan, they are a total joke, they saw my credit score and almost instantly shut the door on my face. They became unhelpful and uninterested in helping me, to the point where I grabbed my paper work told them how RUDE they were and then walked out. After leaving a little more discouraged with this whole process, I ventured to Toyota this time I called in for help to my sister, who is a pro when it comes to buying cars and being a hustler, considering she has owned 4 cars in the past 6 years. So her and her husband accompanied me to Toyota. We reached the lot and everything went great, they wanted to help me, let me test drive some cars, but when it came to the financial aspect of it, AGAIN another dealership fell short. When he saw the my credit score the actual sales person, basically threw his hands up and said to deal with the accountant Sam, and went about doing his job as a sales man and helped other people. So entertained this immediately, I also new that my sister was going to cosign for me if it was necessary, however the sales men didn't seem to care about that and help anyways. Sam ( The accountant) was CRAZY RUDE. He laughed at us for picking such an expensive car with my credit score, and told us that we need to stay "within our means". extremely and my sister and brother in law got up and left. However I was not going to let this process defeat me! So on to Chevy we went. I was immediately greeted by a very sweet man names Chris Gomez. now at this point I was upfront and honest about everything, my credit, my cosigner if needed, the fact that I owned another car that I was not planning on trading in, and all my needs and wants in my new car. Shockingly he was not discouraged by any of this, and treated me as if I was going to be handing him cash and leaving with a new car right now! He showed my a couple different cars, let me take my time and test drive them, he was extremely knowledgeable, and COMPLETLEY understood what I was looking for! After taking my time making sure I found exactly what I want, we went inside to do the hard part. Chris took this challenge head on!! He took the time that was needed to make sure that we exhausted all options before we needed my sister to consign. The finance man that helped Isaac was extremely diligent is making sure he could do everything he could to get me out of there with a car. He stayed very positive, and told me he was going to make this happen for me, they did everything they could,   Even entertained different cars based on the price and the specials all of it! After about an hour of diligent work, it was clear that a cosigner was necessary. I wasn't happy, I immediately felt defeated and saddened. Chris was so comforting, he told me that what I was going through was not uncommon, and sometimes having a wonderful family is such a blessing. So my sister ended up cosigning for me. After take EVER MORE TIME getting my sister applied with me, he finally came back with some good news, he shook my hand a congratulated me on my brand new 2014 Chevy Malibu, (keep in mind he said this to me with almost the same exact excitement I had just hearing it) It was as if he just bought a brand new car to. MISSION ACCOPLISHED!! The finance man came out and congratulated me as well. It was a HUGE break through for everyone. The level of customer service I received at Chevy is indescribable!! I honestly cant thank you them enough for the care and consideration they showed me. They took the time to make this happen for me when no one else did, and in my opinion, that's what matters.. not the car, or the price, but the time invested, to be able to say I am so proud to of bought a car from someone truly worthy of my business. I want to extend a HUGE thanks to Chris and Isaac! Tray are truly amazing men! I will never forget me experience with them or at Capital Chevy! I will moving forward be doing ALL my car buying at chevy, and recommending this place and wonder staff to any one I know looking to buy a new car.  THANK YOU!

You learn a lot sitting in the waiting room. Lots of employees, but lots of socialization with each other while customers are standing. Need to kick it up a notch when customers are around.

Shuttle was out for over an hour, surprising that one of the not so busy folks did not give updates or grab a second shuttle.  Plan on extra time, maybe a lot of extra time.   Shuttle guy was nice and vehicle was clean.

Was checking out the new Corvettes and Z/28's which the dealer had tacked on extra markup of $12-19k. Guess it's good to sell in San Jose but you might buy somewhere else.

Nice facility, but drinking fountain was pretty gross (time for a little elbow grease).

Advice to management, don't let those fat extra profit markups make you complacent on customer service.  You can be better than average.

Worst experience ever!!!! I traded in a 2014 Ford Fusion for a 2009 Chevy Tahoe, it took Capitol Chevy almost a month to send the pay off to the Ford Store in Morgan Hill and mean while I was getting calls from Ford Credit that I was late on my payments and that if it went over 30 days that I would be reported to the credit bureau. I told Ford credit that I no longer had the vehicle that I signed the Fusion over to Chevy but all they told me was that until they received the payoff I was still liable for the vehicle. I called the Chevy sales manager, I called their general manager left voice messages I even sent him an email all and no one replied back. It's been over a month I still haven't received the plates for the Tahoe, so someone from Chevy calls me and said that I would have to take the vehicle to DMV so that they can confirm the vin number on the vehicle, why should that be my job to do that, they obviously didn't do their paperwork right in the beginning.  I would give them zero stars if I had that option, so if your going to trade in a vehicle just be careful because they lag on doing their job. It's all good when they are trying to sell you a car but once you buy it and you call back for what ever reason they just brush you off. I like Chevy cars but will not go back to that dealership, so much for their stupid radio commercials about being a happy car buyer!

I leased my Volt from this dealership. First of all I should say that it was NOT my first time leasing a car!! I see that people had good experience with the service department and not the sales! I should have read the reviews before going there. our sales person and even the store manager didnt know the options that come with the car and didnt wanted to even look into it. When I asked about one of the options in the car they told me I cant have it with this model and I accepted it, but then after buying the car I saw everyone has it. So I contacted them that they made this mistake and they didnt even care!!
After one week leasing the car we got a call back that the lease we signed was wrong and we need to go back and redo it. they promised that everything is ready and we just go and sign, when I go there nothing is ready, the finance person even didnt know how to redo the lease, he had me sit there more than one hour and calling someone to teach him how to redo the lease. After he was done he didnt know how to print and he told me to come back again,

one last thing that you wanna know about this dealership is that during the process the store manager offered us the insurance package for any damage to the car for $900. We thought it was expensive and we didnt buy it, when we went to the finance room to sign the deal, the finance guy offered the same insurance for $600!!! We told him we are not interested, then he dropped the price to $400!!! how is that even possible to sell something that is priced $400 to us for $900!!!!

Also, its been 4 months I have leased my car, and same as the other review, I never got my registration card and the tag. I requested from DMV and paid for it myslef! I didnt even bother to contact the dealership!

AVOID going to this dealership!!!

Why did you call us to follow up if you don't want to deal with the problem that the driver's door needs repair?? The used van you sold us was not in as good condition as it looked. A month after buying a used Toyota Van the driver's door sounds like it's disconnecting and ready to fall off! The dealer calls us asking how our recent purchased van is working out for us. After expressing gratitude for such a nice van & deal I let him know that the only problem is the driver's door. "Oh well I'm sure the auto shop can take a look at that and fix it." When when my hubby does go he says that since we don't have a warranty we will probably have to pay them to fix it if it's more than a minor repair. So another appointment is made but they don't give us an estimate instead they tell us they'll call us back with info but they haven't.
 Why do you call us asking how our car is working but then you don't want to deal with the problem ??? Poor service Chris. Really disappointed especially after you highly insisted that everyone gives amazing 5 STAR reviews on here. I don't know what you're talking about because I see a lot of negative feedback. It's just too bad for us that I didn't investigate before hand.

Brought my 2012 Cruze in for recall work and a checkup. Edgardo had amazing service. The only problem was with Enterprise... they wouldn't run accept the fact that Chevy was supposed to cover the rental. They didn't inform me about the "gm rental" policy... even though I reserved a chevy they still put me in a ford just to get my money. I would have perfered to be told about the policy because I wouldnt have been okay with the car they put me in. They told me to go to chevy and make them refund my money. Edgardo said he was going to fix it for me and straighten out the situation. I hope it does get resolved...

We just bought a new 2015 Chevy Volt and had a great experience buying from our local Chevy dealer. My wife has a new job and commutes 40 miles up and down the 101 each day. We wanted a car with a HOV sticker. We arrived on the lot @9:30am on a Saturday morning with that question and were greeted by Carlos, who knew everything there is to know about a Chevvy Volt. The fact that this car is hybrid electric is exactly what we needed. After determining we were looking for something fully loaded in a dark color, Carlos went and secured a vehicle that met our requirements. We went for a test drive. We learned a lot about the car from Carlos. We had other requirements - NAV with Traffic, heated seats, warning for lane changes. We were able to quickly establish which features did and did not exist on the car. At that point, we were interested in leasing the vehicle. I wanted a full quote breakdown to understand how each element of the lease was constructed. Again, I got all the information that I needed to make my decision. Before we pulled the trigger, we had to get out of our current lease (Mazda CX-5) and check out the competition, Ford. We quickly realized that the Ford Energi does 50% less electric miles than the Volt and had no trunk space at all. The sales person was only a week into the job and knew nothing about this product. Every answer to every question was 'I believe it does....' Carlos knew 99% of the answers and the one or two he did not, he went away and researched the answer for us. So it was an easy decision to lease the Volt. The finance process was easy and quick. We were in our car, on star signed up to, phone synced and NAV updated with Home and a Work by 3pm. All car experiences should be this good. This was the first time I had ever been into a Chevy dealership (usually buy Merc, but have bought BMW, Acura, Toyota and Mazda before)

I went here since a friend got his car here. Didn't think I would have any real problems (although some minor ones in the first 2 months)  and I get that there are recalls but don't promise a car the same day and wonder why I'm upset 3 days later when my car is actually done. That wasn't the worst part! The customer service area must be blind or care less when there's a line and think I know where everything is. I recently purchased a 2014 Chevy Cruze LTZ. The service I received was outstanding! I found the car online, made an inquiry about the vehicle through Capitol Chevrolet's website and was contacted in less than 10 minutes. The gentleman I dealt with was Armando who was more than helpful. He was incredibly friendly, answered all of my questions, worked really well with my bank, and stayed in contact with me via e-mail until I was able to go pick up the car.
When I met Armando at the dealership he was very friendly and personable. He showed me the car before finalizing the deal and made sure I understood how all of the features work inside the vehicle. He was very thorough. Then he introduced me to Scott in Finance. Scott was very nice, professional, funny and didn't try to up-sale me. Working with Scott was fast and easy. Then I went back to Armando who helped me set up the On Star in my car. Once that was done he asked if I had any other questions, which I didn't. He literally covered everything I needed to know. And that wrapped up the whole deal.

Bought a 2013 Camaro SS loaded for a deal!

Paid taxes, title, licensing, and tag fees June 2nd. Today is September 6th and JUST received registration but NO TAGs after nine (9) phone calls. Finally, the GM got the registration done but forgot the tags! Temp reg is dead, so I CANT DRIVE MY NEW CAR UNTIL MY TAGS ARRIVE NEXT WEEK.

Lame, lame, lame Customer Service.

Hmmm, So I wrote a review back in February about this place, and seems someone did not like what I wrote. Since I feel that everyone deserves to know what kind of service to expect here, I will rewrite what I posted, but with more updates. Purchased a care from this place in February. They promise you the moon, till you sign then they no longer know you. Getting a hold of anyone there is near impossible. I am still waiting for a call back since then. Anyways, so we buy this car. Was told the that this car came with syrius radio. Find out later it is not equipt, nor can it be loaded into the car. They loaded an external one right in the cup holder on the console. This thing looked flimsy and cheap. I said that is not what I was expecting. So I contacted corporate. They then contacted the dealer. After a month dealing with this issue, I was returned my car with no syrius radio installed. This is a 2014 mind you, and isn't that pretty much a standard feature in new cars? After dealing with this, I was offered a different car, for which I would have had to pay more for or 3 months of payments. We ended up with the payments. Sales lies to you, ignores you once you have signed on the dotted line. They tell you on your way out that you will receive a survey in the mail and to make sure you give them a good rating. After the month I had with this issue, there was no way in hell that I was going to give them a good review. After they received the survey from me, they had the nerve to call me and demand to know why I had done that. Once I started going down the list, the guy tells me he has a kid on the way and he would be fired. Well he should have thought about that beforehand. Second time i brought the car was more issues. This car, like many others have been recalled. I recently take my car in to have this issue taken care of. Also asked for an oil change and to fix the headliner that was already coming down. A brand new car, go figure. Lots and lots of cars there for all the different recalls. I was told it would take 3 hours and should have it back by the end of the night. Stupidly I did not get a loaner, because it was suppose to be a 20 min job. Nobody calls so i have to call several times before I get to talk to someone, who hangs up on me. Mind you this is how it has been since I bought this car. They supposedly fixed the recall issue, but no oil change nor did they fix the headliner. They said they had to order the part? A brand new car and they do  not have parts available for it? They give ma a smelly disgusting loaner and say it will be ready tomorrow. Tomorrow comes and goes. I called several times only to be told the person I needed was either with a customer or away from his desk. They send me to voicemail. I finally left a message. It was rather ruid what I said, but did get a call back finally. They say that the part arrived broken. Ok, I could by that, but it is a piece of weather stripping for Pete's sake. How the hell do you break that? Not once, but twice. So over a week later not a word from them. So i call, again several times and finally get someone. The person that i have been dealing with finally answers the phone and says, O yea it is on. Well when the hell were you going to call. They tell me the next available appointment is in sept. I let them know that is unacceptable. They finally say to bring it in anytime the following week and they will take it in. The initial time that they had the car for the recall, they had misplaced the car. They finally find it, and we go and get the car. This whole ordeal has been a nightmare. One thing after the next. Now there is a person emailing me telling me to make sure I give them a good rating. ARE THEY SERIOUS??? Managers as well as the sales people are the worst. I wouldn't give one star, but it wont let me give none. This is the most unorganized dealership ever. I am a die hard Chevy fan, but this is making me think I should have went Ford.

Let's see if this post stays around. I guess they don't like people being honest. They sure as hell aren't!!!!!!!!!

I regret purchasing my car here. Every time you call, you're being transferred over and over again. When you finally get someone, they place you on hold because they dont know the answers. After I purchased me car, they made me feel like my questions and concerns after signing the contract was not welcomed. One of the salesmen had the nerve to ask me "WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?!" A week after I purchased my car, the check engine light went on. They tell you, you have 30 days within purchase for assistants. YEAH RIGHT!

I recently took my car in for service yesterday and I had Edgardo Oliver as my service advisor right away i was pleased with his customer service. Being that this was the first time that I personally had taken my car in for service I felt like I wasn't sure what to do. He helped me by going above and beyond and made me   feel like he was there to help me. he not.only provided me with excellent customer service he helped save more money then I needed to spend which was great words can't describe how grateful I am. We had a great car buying experience today with Oscar Blanco. He was attentive from the minute he saw us on the lot, funny and friendly and knew his stuff.  We bought a used Dodge and he was pretty knowledgeable about it, which was especially helpful because it was not a car we had originally come to look at. (We had done all of our research on a Ford model.)  

We got a great deal. He didn't mess with us, and was super professional during the negotiation phase, even when I kept needling him about this and that.  He was straightforward and candid when I would ask about comparisons with competing programs, like the comprehensive warranty we bought.  We ultimately followed his suggestion because we felt that he was honest and not blowing smoke.

(This was a pleasant contrast with Capitol Toyota in 2011, who made what should have been a simple purchase take all weekend, with incompetencies all over the place.)

Sooo...10 months later... I call Edgardo Oliver to check out my truck. (2003 Chevy Suburban over 200k miles) Over the past year, my truck has been leaking in a few different areas and now the transmission is slipping.  

After meeting Edgardo for the first time here 10 months ago, I honestly felt pretty comfortable with him and his expertise. (As I mentioned in a previous review.)  He is the ONLY reason why I returned to this dealership.  

Online, appts are booked for another 2 weeks!  I call Edgardo and he gets me in.  They confirm that a "new" transmission is needed along with several other items.  He prints out the longest list of repairs I've ever seen! and we go through it in detail.  He's so patient with me as I need to know how it all works and at times I want to see the actual damage.  I've never seen a Spider Gear before and to see it destroyed the way it was? unbelievable.  I'm shocked that my truck never stalled on me!  His technician/mechanic, Bob was also very patient and understanding with me.  As he showed me the damages under my vehicle, he found a hole (pin-hole) in the transfer case!  Really? not what I wanted to see! but I guess...a good thing he found it :(    just add that to the bill!

With Edgardo there's no pressure, no hard sell, no intimidation.  If he did that, I would've been gone.  I need time to think about all this, get a second opinion and do some research.  

This is what they did: Installed a "new" transmission, replaced half the transfer case, repaired leaks on front and back differentials, axle seals were replaced, something above the oil pan? was leaking, they did an oil change and replaced a dumb spider gear, those bearings and whatever else goes with it.  It cost me a pretty penny, but it was well worth it!  The transmission (with 3yr/100k mile warranty)  is what cost the most, but I know I got a great deal on it!  Other places quoted much higher!

Edgardo provided me with excellent customer service! Treated me with respect and was always very patient with me.  He explained everything in detail and took the time to actually show me what was going on.  He's a busy guy, but never made me feel rushed.  He never made any promises he couldn't keep.  I took my truck in on a Monday and it was completed on Thursday evening.  I drove away a very happy customer!!

WAIT, THAT'S NOT THE END OF IT... the awesome customer service didn't end there... The next day or so he calls to let me know that he's stumbled upon a rebate for the transmission! He made copies of the invoice and paperwork needed, all I have to do is complete it, mail it in and wait by the mailbox for a $200 rebate!!   Who does this?? goes out of their way to make a phone call and copy paperwork for a customer who's already paid and has left the building? I guess.. this guy does! Edgardo really takes pride in his work.

There's no way I would've gotten a better deal ANYWHERE! well, not just on the cost, but the entire experience with Edgardo, his techs and everyone else I encountered at this dealership.  It sure is a much friendlier place.  Thank you so much, Edgardo!  I appreciate everything you've done for me and my family!

This dealership is absolutely phenomenal. I needed service done to my 2012 Chevrolet Cruze due to the rear inside passenger door handle not being operative. Scheduling for this dealership needs to be done in advance, and unfortunately I was scheduled to work on the day I was supposed to bring it in.

I coordinated with my coworker who took the car in for me and while I've never had issues with the dealership before, I was still nervous at how the coordination would work out. It turns out I didn't need to worry about a thing. The dealership took care of him like he was me and even gave him a shuttle ride back to his place of work.

I want to say that my service advisor, Jason, is absolutely the best person I ever had the pleasure with dealing with at any dealership, ever. Bar none, he understands the concepts of customer service and exceeds it by any measurable metric. I understand that things can get very chaotic and emotional sometimes when working in that type of environment, but he never fails to have an upbeat and absolutely positive attitude. How he manages to consistently be positive is even beyond me but that is the capacity of individual that is needed for a position such as his. He is carrying the torch with the "New GM" branding and with his positive attitude and sincere care to service he understands that the customer comes first and the good experience doesn't stop after the keys are handed over.

The manufacturer may be going through rough ups and downs and I think everybody can agree that the Cruze is no Mercedes. The fact that the dealership cares so much about the customer makes overlooking the recalls and service items so much easier.

Really, at the end of the day it's really all about the person, and not so much the car. No matter how well built a car is, a person statically or historically will not own it past the payment cycle, and just like that I'm sure that I will probably be trading in the Cruze after a few more years when I move up professionally and my needs change. You can bet that I'll make Capital Chevrolet my first stop, and it's only a matter of time until the showroom eye candy gets me in trouble with my wallet.

Going back to Jason though, he really is a phenomenal person. I think the entire thing can be summed up by a quote that Maya Angelou said, "People don't remember you for your actions, they remember you by how you make them feel." This, I think, is what bridges Jason with the phenomenal service. Free coffee, free shuttle rides, clean showrooms, nice cars, that's all well and good, but those are actions and those are the things that the more upscale dealerships have, such as BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, etc. But those don't have feeling or emotion attached to them, and in those regards that's what Jason brings that no unlimited budget can deliver. I really hope the dealership takes care of him and at the most, maybe GM corporate can recognize him and make room for him in the upper tier because he is making GM a lot of money by his demeanor and attitude and nowadays that isn't something that should be ignored by any corporate entity, no matter how big they are.

I had factory scheduled service on my 2014 Cruze LTZ at 7.5k miles.

I scheduled appointment late night Wednesday and had my car serviced Friday morning. All in all it took less then 2 hours. I enjoyed some coffee and read magazine I brought with me while car was serviced.

Overall I'm very pleased with services I get from Capitol Chevrolet dealership so far.

Selene, Kevin, and Jason have been the best through a difficult situation...i bought a 2011 Nissan Altima from Selene in June and three week later i got smashed inbetween two cars and the car was totaled...thank goodness we got all the options offered by them or i would be out a car at the moment. They were so helpful and understanding throughout the whole ordeal...not only helpful but concerned of my needs and feelings towards another vehicle....we went back before the other car was paid off because we couldn't stay with a rental for too long. The finance team is amazing! They let us open another account. I decided on a GM Buick Eclave CXL great car (which is at the lot as i speak) which within 2 days i realized i couldn't afford the gas in such a big vehicle because i drive way too much. As hard as it was giving up such an amazing vehicle i had to and Selene was off that day so Jason referred us to his salesman Kevin.. (Great guy) he made the confusing car hunting easy and showed me cars that i wanted but it was hard i didn't feel the right fit until he showed me the 2013 Nissan Altima SV pure clean vehicle...i wasn't set at first because i really liked the SUV but had a feeling this would be the one.....and it is...I'm in love with my car and i wouldn't go anywhere else to get one again....they made a horrible situation into a stress relieved situation and made me and my family really happy...please if you decide to get a car come see Selene or Kevin...and make sure to ask Jason any questions you need answered he's the best too! And tell them all Jessica said Hi!

I was ready to purchase a vehicle so I thought I'd check out their selection but the staff was extremely rude. First I spoke to someone over the phone who basically told me to go in to see them or take my business elsewhere. I thought it was really weird but I thought I should stop by just in case someone was having a bad day but turns out I was wrong. As I was walking in I heard the managers brother (which I found out as he was yelling this out) to someone who was picking up their new car and was mad about a huge scratch which the guy said was already there when they spoke about the price and as such they were not responsible. As I was about to leave someone came up to me and since they seemed nice I decided to stay however they quickly told me to buy or go elsewhere. Glad to say I will be taking my business elsewhere. According to the salesperson they have too many customers walking in to worry about losing a few....

I had recently been in a car accident that totaled my car so a new one was obviously needed. My sister constantly raves about Chevy's so I decided to try one out. I looked online and thought the Chevy Sonic was a good fit for me. I knew what I wanted when I got there which made the salesman's job a lot easier. I really have no complaints because I got exactly what I wanted. I love my car.
The only reason for the missing 2 stars in my review is for my first visit to see what they had in stock. I won't name this guy because I believe he was new and still learning but he was terrible. He drove us around the lot in a car that had just been purchased so the people were looking for their car. Then when we were in it he drove over the curb. Imagine buying an expensive new car and the salesman takes off in it with other customers while you're signing the papers and curbs it. Not cool. I felt so bad. Then he didn't know anything. I knew more than he did and I know next to nothing. I was so glad he was off the next day that I went to actually purchase my car.
Chevy's are great cars though and like I said I got what I wanted in the end. All is well that ends well.

I bought a pre-owned Mitsubushi outlander from this place and to be very frank i made the deal over another one where i was getting a 1 year newer model at same cost. I would like to call out that the sales person Art Rodriguez  did a great job in following aspects - 1) No pushy sales thing, 2) Very very cooperative, 3) Ready to discuss any query, 4) Patient and 5) Looked like a person of commitment. And so i got the car its been about 10 days now and all is going great.
Highlight was - I reached at 5.30 and came out with my outlander at 8 !! All the staff were friendly and helpful.

Hopefully things will go good going forward as i have my free services lined up with them :)

One point less in rating because i got an amazingly bad 8.9% APR interest rate on financing :(
Though, I doubt if it was in control of the capitol folks.

I recently got a new Spark EV from Capitol Chevrolet. The sales staff was very courteous and professional in assisting their customers, without the pushy salesmen's manner I encountered at other dealerships.

My purchase experience was quick and convenient. I tested a couple of electric cars and was guided through the paperwork in a few hours. The staff patiently answered my questions and also provided guidance on getting all benefits from the electric vehicle including credits and tax refunds.

I took my one year old Chevy volt with 10,000 miles on it which had a leak on battery cooling Radiator. They first told me that I have to pay the whole cost of repair, after I pushed back, they had me pay partial cost of the repair. Also it took a while that they fix my car.

This review is for the Service Department.  I went in today 6/3/14 to leave my car off for warranty service.  I brought it in at 10a.m for Service the next day.  The Service writer asked if I had an appointment and I told him no..i was bringing in so they could keep it overnight and work on it the next day.  He laughed, and said, "well, I will have to keep it over a week, since the next appointment I have is next Thursday." Now I know dealers are busy however this is 9 days away.   I had 2 problems...steering wheel would not adjust, and third row seat would not stay locked.   Since my car was 2000 miles away from the end of the warranty, and I was traveling the next week, I said ....well since I am reporting the problem before the end of the warranty, when I bring it back, and over 36,000 miles, it will still be covered right?  Well I got that laugh again, and he told me that if it was 1 mile over the 36000 miles I had no warranty.
Needless to say I left.... Went home, called Courtesy Chevrolet, and they made the appointment, I brought in today for service tomorrow, No Problem.
Attitude, plus lack of communication equals loss of customer for life.  
Im a Chevy man but DG Dealerships have a ways to go to win me over

The guy was great. He seemed super honest, worked as hard as possible to try to get the best deal for me that he could, and was incredibly attentive. He was quick to return phone calls, and went out on a very long test drive with me. If you go there, I recommend asking for him. Dealerships are going to be dealerships IMO, and it's often the luck of the draw when you walk in as to what kind of sales associate you get. I encourage you to request him if you can.  He's new, so I hope he continues to stay as helpful and honest as he was with me.

This is my first review on Yelp as I don't normally write reviews due to so little time that I have in my life, but I feel i should share the good experience I had with them with rest of the Yelp community.

Capitol Chevrolet has a very professional sales team, I highly recommend Art Rodriguez and Mitch Rozinsky. No pressure sales rep., very honest on the entire sales process, both great qualities that I am looking for when shopping for a car.

The trade-in process was very easy as well, they took care all of the paper work and later cut a check on the difference between my down payment and the value of the trade-in. I also thought the trade-in value they gave is really good, it saves me so much time and effort trying to sell it on my own.

Mitch is an expert on Volt, he has sold more than 100 of them, needless to say he is like an encyclopedia of Volt. He has always respond to my text messages when I have questions on certain features of the car after I took it home, that is rare! It is not easy to find a good quality car sales manager like Mitch to be honest. No BS and ALL knowledge.

Art is also very honest and works EXTRA hard to negotiate with the sales manager to meet your demands. Which is also very important factor during our sales process (my friend and I each leased a Volt). We will not lease two cars at the same location if we are not satisfied with our experience that we have received from Mitch and Art.

I dislike BS Car salesman and I am lucky to have meet Mitch and Art, thank you both again for making my car buying experience a pleasant one.

I would recommend any of my own friends who wants a Chevy to them. Don't hesitate to give them a try if you are also in the market for a car, I am sure you will also have a very good experience like we did.

I knew what car I wanted and specced it out on the Chevy website. The dealership I leased our 2011 Cruze from was less than helpful (much to my surprise and chagrin), so I looked around. Christian Dimas from Capitol Chev contacted me immediately and with great followup (without being pushy, which I hate). My wife was coming back from Palm Springs with the Cruze, and Christian was ready with multiple car options and leasing deals when we returned. I have bought a lot of cars in my time, and this was the easiest and most pleasant experience ever. He spent significant time to explain the sophisticated and complex features of our Impala, so that my wife (who is not very technical) was comfortable and confident in her ability to use them. This is coming from a 10+ Year sales person and Recruiter in the Silicon Valley. I don't take reccomendations or referrals lightly. Went in to "just look" and we were greeted by who turned out to be Luis Ramos.  He asked what we were looking for and proceeded to show us around with no pressure at all.   We were in the market for a good used truck.  After digging information out of us because we were "just looking" Luis told us it was truck month and that he could get us into a new truck for the same price as the used.  Me being the leery one that I am told him how much I was willing to spend and I was not going to be "truck poor" he assured me he understood and we continued walking to the new truck section.   Needless to say after looking and finding a truck we began the paperwork process (which if you are like me in the belief that no matter what happens you're getting screwed one way or another when you purchase an automobile) Luis was true to his word and he was thorough and knew what he was talking about and was a fantastic salesman.  I did not get that feeling of being screwed over at all and we left there without any tinge of buyer's remorse in fact I am here yelping to you all that Capitol Chevy is where it is at and you need to go see Luis Ramos!  It was painless and we were out of a truck we hated and into a brand new 2014 Silverado LT!  Thanks Luis you have a Chevy customer for life!!

All I can say is the team at Capitol Chevrolet is amazing!  My husband and I were in a few Friday's ago just looking at options.  After a couple of hours of test driving we decided on this Avalanche that we fell in love with.  Paul Duran made us feel extremely comfortable through the entire process.

Fast forward to Saturday morning... In general, I suggest never buying a car at night, especially not a used one.  Unfortunately with kids, this was the only time we could go.  We started to really take a look at the truck and noticed a "few" items that absolutely needed to be fixed.  It was borderline deal breaker!

This is where amazing comes in... My husband and I dropped our car to be serviced and set our appointment online for a certain person but when we got there, that person was with some customer. Here comes Edgardo Oliver asking if he can help us. I admit I was hesitant at first, but he was so nice and said he'll just start to set us up for this other guy instead of just waiting around. Well, that other guy that I set up the appointment for, never even acknowledged our presence (didn't really want to say anything bad but it's true), so we decided to just deal with Edgardo. And I'm glad we did because he was very helpful from taking in our car complaints to getting us a loaner car (since Enterprise didn't pick us up after we waited for an hour after they were called) and to making sure that we got our car back at the end of the day, and giving us discounts too :) He kept in touch throughout the day to give updates which is really comforting (as I'm sure anyone would agree). Then just as we got home, we realized that we left a shopping bag in the loaner car. I called Edgardo and he was so nice that he said he'll keep it safe till I retrieve it. If you want to learn about a Chevy Volt in a no pressure easy going atmosphere, you need to go to Capital Chevy and talk to Mike Morales.  I went last night, interested in the Volt but totally ignorant about how a hybrid car works.  Mike took plenty of time to explain the way the engine works, the way the state and federal rebates work and to show me all of the features the Volt offers besides just being a gas saver.  I never felt pressured to purchase and Mike successfully avoided all of those sales-ey phases that we all hate.  Ill be going back today to try and work on a deal.  But, I never felt any pressure to make a deal last night.  Mike and I talked for a while, I learned a lot and I comfortably walked away.  He seems genuinly interested in finding the right car and the right deal for me.  If youre thinking about a Volt (or any other Chevy for that matter), go see Mike!

I was really nervous about buying a new truck. I have had some really bad experiences. I had a goo friend recommend capitol Chevrolet to me. He told me they would give me VIP service. I went down there and met with a Scott Jobe he was a very nice man and turned me over to one of his best sells guys Frank Fletcher. He was berry knowledgable about the truck I was looking for. After a few minutes I felt a good vibe with frank and trusted he would do a good job for me. After we had settled on a price for the truck I wanted he got the guys on it had parts installed on the truck before I have even purchased it yet. When it was my turn I went into financing Scott he was an awesome guy took really good care of me  got me the interest rate I needed to fit my budget. frank followed the process all the way through to the end. The sales manger even came out to congratulate me on my purchase. When it was all said and done I got the truck a few bucks less then expected. Last fall my mom needed to buy a new car. Her previous car was old... A 1999! So she was really scared to buy a new car. My mom is 70 so she was really worried about going to a dealership and being fed a bunch of lingo and confusing words... She was afraid of being taken advantage of. She was worried about her credit and she was worried about paying high interest rates. The whole ordeal was scary for her. I told her to go talk to Paul Duran at this dealership. She was hesitant but she called him on the phone.
After talking to him for about 15-20 minutes on the phone she was on her way out the door to go see him.
He treated her really well. He allowed her to get comfortable with him and really just spent the better half of the morning just walking her around the lot and letting her go at her pace. She finally picked a car :)
He took her on a test drive and she decided she liked it.
So now the hard part... Credit checks, down payments, sales process.
She actually had MUCH better credit than she thought. And the rate he gave her was lower than the rate her own credit union offered her.
He have her a great deal on the car, and she left with a beaming smile on her face.
No sleazy salesman talk, just down to earth good treatment. She swears it was the best car buying experience of her life and he really made her feel like family. Go talk to Paul Duran :)

It's a car dealership. It's staffed by would-be criminals who will do and say anything to get your money. Every trick in the book will be used against you, including, but not limited to:

1. Advertised "loyalty" discounts nobody on the planet actually qualifies for to lure you in the door.

2. Idiotic "well, I have to ask my manager about that" games that go on for hours.

3. Completely bogus prices on "invoices" they just ran off on an inkjet as you were sitting there to make you feel guilty about robbing them of their money.

4. Absolutely worthless overpriced add-ons like "auto butler" services (i.e. wax) and gap coverage that keep showing up on the paperwork no matter how many times you say you don't want them.

5. Insisting that they need to hold on to the registration card for your trade-in so they can conveniently forget to give it back to you when you leave, thereby insuring that you'll be back to avoid paying $20 for a replacement copy.

6. Insisting that your trade-in is only worth roughly 1/8th of blue book for nebulous reasons no one is ever able to quantify (but hey, you still better buy that auto butler package to protect your precious resale value!).

7. Sad attempts to get you emotionally attached to a machine when your wife/husband/partner/whatever gets up to go to the bathroom. "Well, you know, it seems like SHE really likes it!" was a line that was actually employed during my trip.

And of course, assuming you actually manage to get through all of that nonsense without blowing your brains out, they'll make you sit and wait about two hours before your paperwork is ready and the car will be delivered unto ye with garbage OEM tires that are 20 pounds over/under-inflated and hard water spots all over its mirrors because their detailers are completely incompetent.

I think the best part of the "auto butler" upsell was how the first salesman insisted that "we ALL have it on our cars and they look great!" Went back to the lot on another day and talked to a different guy who had to text the first guy, at which point it slipped out that he might not respond for a while because he doesn't have a car and just bikes to work. Maybe he pays $600/year for them to wax his Schwinn? Yeah, I bet that's a thing that happens.  

Nevertheless, they get an extra star because:

1. They have a LOT of inventory. That means they're hemorrhaging money daily thanks to their own floorplan financing, and that makes them a little bit easier to slap down when they start in with the imaginary invoice guilt trips.

2. They're on a relatively open stretch of road where you can actually get a halfway decent feel for a car during a test drive. Can't really do that in Burlingame or Colma.

3. The finance manager's pretty honest and did not try to sneak anything onto my paperwork once the sales nimrods were out of the room. She actually got me a much, much, much lower interest rate than any of them said was possible.

4. It's not any better anywhere else. No really. It's not. I don't care if your dad owns the dealership--it sucks.

Aside from all of that, I was pleasantly surprised by the build quality of the post-bailout Chevy. Never in a million years thought I'd buy American, but here I am.

I had a great experience with Capitol Chevrolet.  I test drove and bought a 2014 Chevy Volt at this dealer.

The staff was friendly, and the pricing was very competitive with KBB's Fair Value Pricing and the TrueCar app.  Their pricing is lower than other dealers.  Frankie and Gabe spent a considerable amount of time for our test drive, and to answer my questions and go through the inventory and options.  They were both very professional.

I gave 4 stars, because I had been promised a great trade-in value for our 2011 Nissan LEAF, but after negotiations, the dealer refused to promise that quoted trade-in value of our LEAF.  The trade-in value was mediocre, but still in line with KBB's fair value and the going rate from other dealers.

I came in with my dad in December of 2012 with my eyes on a Subaru WRX. We were greeted by Jake shortly after arriving, and was pretty helpful! He gladly answered any questions we had, and anything he was unsure of he made sure to find out for us. I also had my eye on another Subaru across the street at a Subaru dealer so we went and checked that one out afterward.

Jake told us that since all of these dealers were apart of DGDG, that he could actually work with us to get the car even though it was across the street. We went to Subaru across the street, and test drove another WRX. I honestly think the salesman at Subaru did not take us seriously even though I was very interested in the car. My dad and I were unhappy with him to say the least. So we went back to Capitol Chevy and told Jake that if he could work with us, the sale was his. Sure enough, he got to work. He brought in Rider (Ryder? Sorry!) to help us work out a deal. Unfortunately for me, that WRX was just BARELY out of my budget. Jake and Rider did what they could, and I appreciate that. So we went back to the original WRX we saw at Capitol Chevy, and Jake hooked us up.

The rubber on the windshield wipers were ripped on the car however, and there was no owners manual with the car. Not the dealers fault, but Rider did say they were going to order those for me. So that was nice.

It was an overall pleasant buying experience. Everyone was very helpful, there were no gimmicks and it was all rather straight forward. If you plan on stopping by, ask for Jake or Rider. They'll take good care of you.

I just bought my first GM car, Chevy volt.  I started with Japanese brand (Acura , Lexus) and then switched to German cars ( BMW).  I never wrote reviews on any of those cars.  Those were great cars and I had fun, never a bad experience, nothing unique.  After working with Chevy Capitol for past 2 days, I thought it is good to share one of the unique experience.  I felt like I was getting a Bentley or Maserati.  I did not get this attention when I got my dream car (550i).  The entire staff was knowledgeable, helpful, and pleasant.  These guys truly define customer experience.

Went in to look at the Chevy Volts with the wife. Was only thinking to look that day, but ended up buying. Mostly because the local sales staff were so good at answering all the questions we had, without us having to take time out for research. Cost was a big factor for us, as this was the most expensive vehicle we'd ever considered, so it was great that the Capital sales folks also were knowledgable about the various rebates available, and even able to cut the price a little bit more, even tho this is a high demand vehicle in California.
Helped also that there were a good number of cars in stock, in various colors and equipment levels, so that we could see what we were thinking about, rather than guess.
Capital Chevy was an A+ for us. I have also purchased a Subaru from across the street, and give them high marks too. Seems likely that the Del Grande group is fostering good auto purchase experiences

I had the car towed to the dealership because I had flat. Turns out that the tire was completely destroyed by 4 nails. The tire got fixed in a matter of hours with a brand new tire. I feel that Jason, as always went the extra mile to take care of me. I have mentioned this before, he is a wonderful asset to the company and should be promoted!
(NOTE) The only complain I have is that no one ever told us that the car didn't come with a spare when we bought it. For spending almost 30k on the car, a spare should come with it. It caused a bit of headache because I had to tow the car and lose a day of work.

My car shifter was sticking in park and since I moved to the area near this dealership I chose to go there for service instead of back to the Stevens Creek location where I bought my car 3 years ago. I was met at my car outside before I could even get out (very impressive). It is obvious by walking in what type of team work goes on here. I spoke directly to a service consultant who took my information and my explanation about the issue. I also mentioned that I need an oil change and asked about a discount and was given the coupon rate (every penny counts). Then, I left.

I got a call the next morning (follow up, extremely improtant) of course my car was not doing what it was doing before I brought it in but I decided to leave the car over night and pick up a rental upon their offer. I came in and a driver took me across the way to get a rental car and I went back home. They don't make you feel like this is a mojor ordeal, they painstakingly go out of their way to take control, make you comfortable and you can leave feeling like they are going to take care of you (mucho importante!).  When I came back the second time I was able to talk directly to a service tech who was inside. He did get to experience the shifter sticking in park and told me that he knew right away what the issue probably was.

The next day they called again (follow up! awesome!) and told me they had discovered the problem and would order the parts right away and have it repaired by the next day which was fine because I had a rental car anyway.  I then asked if they have a car wash which they do and I asked if they could do both inside and out and for $25 I got a mini detail. I have never had such a great experience, why do I appreciate thier service? The Stevens creek location has a lot to learn about running a shop as smooth and supportive as these people are. I never had a good experience at that location so I was extremely pleased when I went into the Capitol Hill Exwy location. The BEST part about it? The guys right away had the info on my auto coverage and I walked away paying only for a discounted oil change and a car detailing! I looked at 2014 Corvettes they have in stock today.

I told the salesman I would not pay more than MSRP.  MSRP is what other Chevy dealers are offering to order Corvettes.  The salesman spent 45 min. taking information on my trade and wasting my time.  The salesman took me to the Sales Manager who told me my 2011 Grand Sport was worth about $31,000 according to and they would not sell me a Corvette, even a Demo car, for MSRP.

I walked out and at home I researched the value of my trade on , and myself.  TheTrade-in values they gave for my car with its options were: $38,135; $39,375-43,700 and $34,834-40,434, respectively.

These guys figured I was stupid and they are greedy sharks.  I wouldn't buy a candy bar from Capitol Chevrolet and I hope you don't.  I also hope they read this.

Next to the Dentist, shopping for a car USED TO BE my least favorite thing.  But not any longer.
I heard from MItch and the Internet Sales Department at Capitol Chevrolet as soon as I registered for the Costco shopping service and .  Capitol is part of the DGDG group. He sent me a couple emails while I was still organizing my goal of buying a new electric car, the Chevy Volt.
Ultimately, I met Mitch at the dealership (and promptly discovered we played on opposing softball teams 15 years ago).  
He showed us the cars available and I decided on what I would like in terms of equipment and color.   Unfortunately, it wasn't on his lot, despite Capitol having a huge inventory of Volts!
Mitch shopped around and found the only car with the right combination at a dealer in Woodland, some 120 miles away.  It was brought to Capitol and I picked up the car two days later.
In the process, I had to deal with selling my 2006 Mini Cooper.  At first, I went private party and put the car on Craigslist.  After the first person came to look at the car, I realized that I didn't like the whole process of private party sale.  I talked to Mitch (who has significant experience in used car sales also) and he offered me a fair amount (not overly-generous).  I decided to trade the car to Capitol as part of the purchase of the Volt.
After the sale was completed, Mitch spent a lot of time going over every button, option and computer screen in the car.
And the next day, he called to be sure everything was going well.

I leased a 2014 Volt. I really enjoyed my shopping experience with your Internet service. Since I had investigated the car features over the Internet, it was a great fit for me that the Internet sales manager provided me with detailed pricing information. It took less than 1 hour for me to test drive and make the decision that I got a good deal. The paperwork took a little longer, but it is understandable since it was a Sunday. Overall it was a smooth transaction and it was great experience working with Gabriel Garcia. I referred a friend to Gabriel while completing the paperwork.

Update on 3/30/14. The customer service at OnStar and Chevry is so wonderful. I am patiently waiting for my 3-year lease to end (This reply was rejected by because "It contains keywords rejected by the antispam content filter). I probably will never buy or lease any car associated with OnStar or Chevry.

We met with Frank, one of the sales managers, who introduced us to Mojeeb.  Mojeeb was great.  He was friendly and professional, and made us feel welcome the whole time.  He took us to see the large inventory on the main lot and the side lot.  He also worked to get us a great price.

After we shook hands on a car and a price, we went to see Scott in finance.  Scott was quick, but I never felt like I was being rushed.  We had some great chats while waiting for the forms to print.

Once I was done with finance, Mojeeb took me to my new car, helped me set up OnStar.  We were done, and I was driving off the lot by about 3pm.

Late on a Friday night saw an online deal for the car I wanted. I emailed them with a couple questions, Isaac promptly responded. First thing saturday morning I was at the dealership, Isaac handed me off to Frank Fletcher (the Volt specialist), and I was test driving the car.  Frank knew everything there is to know about the car and he's also a really personable guy.  I loved the car and my interactions with the people at Capitol, so I bought the car.  The whole process was free of stress and pressure.  I highly recommend this dealership!

My service experience was fantastic overall.  The dealer ship called me directly to inform me about the recall and threw in a free tire rotation.  Fantastic!  I especially loved the in-house rental car option and the fact that the service adviser knew in great detail exactly what the recall was for.  Keep up the great work!

The only recommendation that I have is to make sure the car is delivered with a fully charged battery.  That extra touch will really push the Volt service experience over the top especially since this dealership specializes in Volts.

Just purchased a 2014 Chevrolet Volt.  I highly recommend Capitol Chevrolet and Armando Arteaga, the internet sales manager.  I got a great price, first class customer service, and no hassles.  Got the price up front on line, and they stuck by it - no hidden costs or surprises, no haggling necessary.  No sales pressure.  Armando patiently answered my (many!) questions.  Some of my questions about the Volt were technical and he worked to get me accurate information in a timely fashion.  The actual transaction was a breeze.  Armando was fully prepared before I arrived.  The finance manager asked politely once about the usual extras like extended warranties and added protection plans, and did not pressure me in any way after I declined.  Hassle free.  I had noticed an issue with a noisy seat adjustment mechanism when I test drove the car.  Before I came to pick up the car Armando made sure the part was replaced.  He also had the car fully detailed, filled the tank with gas and fully charged the EV battery.  All this was done quickly and efficiently before I arrived to sign the final papers.  Service after the sale has been awesome.  In addition to taking care of the usual DMV paperwork as most dealers do, Capitol Chevrolet has a new program to get the carpool lane stickers directly so that their customers do not need to wait the 6-10 weeks after getting license plates and then applying.  I got my stickers less than a week after purchase, and I understand going forward, their customers will have them when they first pick up the car.  Armando even installed the stickers for me.  Armando is also helping me get setup at home with a level 2 EV charger.  He sent in an application to the California Energy Commission on my behalf to apply for a free home charger under the electric vehicle service equipment program.  

To summarize the purchase experience and customer service provided by Capitol Chevrolet and Armando Arteaga have been outstanding.

You hear the stories about "Used Car Sales" people but you have to actually experience it to understand how bad it can be.  You need to read this before you consider doing business with them.  Read the other poor reviews and you will see the trend and that I am not the only one they dealt with dishonestly.

1)  When I asked them about Kelly Blue Book and Edmonds they said they are way way to high in their valuations.  They are not accurate.  Capitol Chevrolet really knows the value rather than these sources.  My car was in mint condition .  They said there was damage and I asked where and they said a little scratch.  That was why they took almost $3000 off the value.  The car they had that I was interested in has several spots painted over with nail polish and they said that did not impact the value.  But a scratch you had to get a magnifying class to see on my car drops the price on my car by almost $3,000?

2) They were asking for $4,000 above the KKB  "mint condition" Retail price for the car I was looking at. How does that fit with their statement that KKB and Edmonds is way over prices and not accurate?  Their car was in average condition.  

3)  Before I came in I spoke with them on the phone and they said they would work with me on the price their car.  Boy, they sure did a good job of getting me to come in and a great job on working on the price.  Classic used car sales technique.

And it goes on and on. Misleading statement after misleading  statement and a few lies thrown in to boot.  I literally had to take a shower when I go home to feel clean after that experience.

The people I dealt with were dishonest, evasive, and flat out lied.

Make sure that they are the type of people you want to deal with before you go see them or speak with them on the phone.

We purchased a Volt at this dealership a year ago. The test drive, purchase, and after-purchase service was excellent. So far after logging 15,000 miles on the car we really enjoyed the experience of owning the Volt. The performance of the car exceeds our expectation both in driving and saving on cost of driving.

What prompted us to write this review is our experience in having our Volt here for the second maintenance service (every 7,500 miles as recommended by GM). We had the first service here and was going to try another Chevy dealer for our second one because it is closer to us. We were shocked that they were going to charge us $300 for the maintenance. We have no problem driving a longer distance (still electric miles though :-p) to Capitol to get tire-rotation, 28-point check and a wash for $19.95.

The people at this dealer are very pleasant to work with and helpful. The service adviser, Mr. Philip Wells impressed us as a very courteous, knowledgable and helpful representative at the service counter. They make you feel that your business is important to them.

We will continue to have our car serviced there although there is another dealer closer to us.

I saw a 2013 Chevy Malibu online I liked...I sent an email and was immediately responded to by Armando Arteaga. Kind, honest and to the point as I was to him. I asked many questions and they were answered within minutes. Met with Armando on Saturday and he helped us immediately getting the keys to the Malibu and a couple other Malibu's that Armando & Isaac Amaya suggested. We ended up really liking an ECO Malibu in a different color and way nicer than the one I originally chose. We brought in a trade also, And we got almost exactly what we wanted for my trade and cash back like I had asked and the payment I wanted for a nicer Malibu. Were so happy with our purchase, but would not have happened if it weren't for the above and beyond attitudes and professionalism of Armando Arteaga & Isaac Amaya. I recently bought a used 370z from Mojeeb Nuno and had an awesome time here. I let him know what i was looking for and he was happy to let me drive any car i thought was interesting. He was not pushy whatsoever and was happy to answer any and all questions to the best of his knowledge. After looking at and test driving a few cars i decided that i wanted the 370z..

I never felt pressured into buying nor did i feel uncomfortable at any time. Of course we did the whole numbers game like every dealership, but when i showed him the pricing on for this specific model, mileage, etc, he was not mad or annoyed. He went beyond what i would have expected from him and got me a price and financing that i was happy with. I did feel bad because the entire process did take about 4-5 hours which he could have made another sale or two, but he stuck with me the entire way.

Only thing i did have to complain about was that my car was supposed to be washed and detailed before i drove it off the lot. Because we left at night, we were not able to see a lot of dirt and gunk left from the stickers. It was cleaner than earlier when i drove it, but it looked like it was just sprayed down and dried. I had to rewash it the next day to get the glue off and to remove all the water spots.

My experience here was great. I have already referred a few friends and family to seek out Capitol Chevrolet and "Mo" when they are in the market for a new car. If not for the detailing, this would have been a perfect car buying experience

I wanted to give an update. I got a call from Armando apologizing for this issue. As I mentioned earlier in the original review, this fiasco is not his fault. He is a good guy. Unfortunately, the nature of the car dealership business is such that the almighty dollar overrides everything in situations like these. Customer satisfaction usually takes a back seat when it comes for a business like Capitol Chevy that is in a mad rush to meet and beat numbers, especially over a long weekend.

I think this was a lose-lose situation for everyone. I didn't get the car I wanted after being told that the deal was ready, the dealership gets a bad review (and deservedly so), and Armando is caught in the middle. I wish him the best. I think he is as honest as you can have in a car dealership.  I just won't ever do business with Capitol Chevy.

I walked in to inquire about the new 2014 Corvette Stingray and was ready to place an order.  The sales manager, David Azimi, told me that not only was their dealership not accepting GM employee pricing on the 2014 Stingray (I understand this may be a GM policy on new models, so be it), but also that he was charging $20k over asking price on the first batch of production.  I walked out the door and will never return.  Boardwalk Chevrolet in Redwood City is selling the 2014 Stingray for MSRP, not a penny more.

A dealer that eager to gouge $20,000 from their customers makes me wonder about the other, less publicized ways in which they strive to rip off their customers.  I will never send another penny of my business to Capitol Chevrolet, whether for sales or service.

I am really shocked by some of the reviews here. I bought my 2013 Camaro here and had a great experience  even though it was in the tent at the time. They did their best to make sure you were comfortable. It took  quite a few visits to find the right vehicle since I wanted a moonroof. Buddy was very helpful and kept in touch in helping me with my selection and finding the right vehicle with the moonroof and options I was looking for.The finance department was also very good at answering all my questions. I visited many dealers and the customer service here is top of the list. I have brought my car in for  oil changes and system updates a couple of times and Edgardo and Mike are both awesome.

Mike Luner, the General Manager, responded quickly to my complaint on Yelp, and I am impressed with how he handled it. He met with me personally to discuss my complaints, and reimbursed me for the work that had been done. He also had his mechanics look at my car again to assess their original recommendations. In the process I learned a few things about rack and pinions, and realize the reason the quote was lower in Truckee was because they were only going to stop the leak, whereas the quote from Chevy was to replace the rack and pinion.

Overall, I feel the customer service here is very good. I trust that all customers are very important to Mike, and that his goal is to make sure they are happy and feel taken care of.

I needed to bring my 2012 Traverse in for a recalled part.  I had opted to have my first oil change at my local mechanic since this dealership isn't as convenient for me in terms of distance and traffic.  However, I made an appointment and brought it in for the recalled part as well as a second oil change.  I was very impressed.  My appointment hadn't made it into the computer, but they accommodated me immediately anyway.  They respected that I told them I needed to leave by a certain time and were done way before that time.  The waiting room was clean and had wifi, so I was able to get some work done while I waited (although it was tempting to watch the Game Show Network that was playing on the large screen TV!).  And when I went out to get my car, it was washed and shiny!!  Overall great experience - great people, great service.  Completely changed my mind about coming down to San Jose for my regular maintenance.

I just bought a new Zl1 from David and Michael. It was a great experience and I am very happy. After looking at the negative reviews below, I realize that several of them were caused by the salesperson or the counter person having bad people skills. It's sad that people like this cause bad reviews for a company and I have owned businesses so know how hard it is to get good help.

For this reason, I really want to highlight how great David (Manager)  and Michael (Salesperson) were. Of course, they started out with the traditional sales approach (that is to be expected and I challenge anyone to find a dealership that does not do this) but once we stated what we were looking to spend and that it was a reasonable offer, they quickly worked the deal into our wheelhouse and made it happen within 10 minutes.

Michael was very attentive and kept touching base as I was waiting for the detail job on the car. I have seen the salespeople who try to intimidate the customer or who have basically zero social skills. David and Michael are the exact opposite and I highly recommend them to anyone buying a car.

My advice would be that if you walk onto a lot, any lot, and come across a salesperson who is an idiot playing with their 64gig Iphone and who really doesn't know the feature sets of the cars, I would suggest that you simply do what I have done in the past and that is to move to another salesperson and give them a chance. Who knows, you may come across a Michael or a David and have a really great experience. Tell the manager that the salesperson is not someone you are "clicking" with and that you would like to work with a different person. If this happens enough, that guy will eventually get fired.

Capitol is right down the street from my house, but I gave the manager at Courtesy Chevrolet my word that I would come back for my next oil change.  My last oil change was done free of charge, because of the poor service I recieved from an associate at Courtesy Chevrolet.  I planned on honoring my word, so I called to schedule an appointment this morning, but after making five attempts noone anwsered the phone!  So I called Capitol Chevrolet, noone anwsered in the service department, so I called back and spoke with the receptionist, she took my number and within 5 minutes a very sweet girl named Victoria scheduled an appointment for me.  When I got there Victoria remembered me and was just as sweet in person as she was over the phone.  The waiting lounge is  beyond belief, they have a giant sized TV, and computers with internet access, I am writing this review while I am waiting for my Car!  I will defintiely be returning to Capitol Chevrolet

I brought in the 2012 Camero for an oil change. I called late on a Saturday afternoon for a service appointment. It was a last minute appointment request since my son was in for the weekend only and was taking the car with him. As always, the allstar service team at Capitol Chevrolet was able to accomodate my special need. Mike Guiterrez said, "If you can bring it in in the next 15 minutes, I can still squeeze you in today, and indeed they did. The service was done perfectly, no hard sell to add additional services. It was completed exactly on time. The customer wait area has been expanded and improved and is very comfortable. They have a large screen TV plus off to the side, several computer stations with Internet access which made the time fly. Before you know it, the car was ready. To add icing to the cake, the car was returned completely washed  

It really doesn't get any better than this ! I only wish is if Capitol Chevy would also service my other car which is an Audi :)

Okay, this dealer is just "okay". I say this based on the service and parts departments. I have no opinion on Sales because I have not bought any vehicles here. Also, I want people to know that Edgardo is one of the best service advisers I've ever worked with. That being said, here is my review.

The dealership is looking good after it's recent remodel. The waiting area has no windows but has a high-tech big screen "matrix" setup which is like an entire wall screen. It's worth visiting the dealer just to see this if you are man that loves watching stuff on a big screen (or even a woman for that matter). :-) Now for the bad stuff.

I went to take my car in for a 7:30am appointment about 1 month ago. I was not greeted at my door. I had to walk-in and then someone (Edgardo) helped me out. The service took several hours for an oil change, alignment, and fuel injector service, which is reasonable time to me if they get it right. (They also picked me up with a return shuttle which was good.)

When I got my car back, the driver's seat was dirty (luckily I had seat covers). Also the car did not have the oil-life system reset. I only found this out several hundred miles later and had to reset it myself... So yeah, the services were not done well in my opinion, hence the 3 star rating. However the parts department was good and everyone was very friendly.

this place is a joke!!!!!

i usually don't write bad reviews but i must say this place is by far the worst dealership i have ever gone to!!!!!
the people that work here are clueless. i bought a car from a salesperson named luis who was clueless on what he selling he told us our truck has things it didn't have and withheld certain information from us. i recently found out almost 6months later that our registration was never paid by the dealership and that our car could get towed or if we got pulled over impounded,. could you believe after calling the dealership and going in person people were not very helpful everyone gave me the run around .they all need better communication because when i call no one has any answers .i'm always told someone will call me  back and they never do. i finally received a phone call yesterday after like 2weeks that we must go and have the truck weighed since dmv needs it to release registration. at this point  i contacted the "manager" mike lunars who spoke so fast and wouldn't even let me get a word in explained "they" whoever it is forgot to weight car before selling. i then explained to him why am i doing there jobs. he apoligized & said he would fix it, i explained to him that i dont live around the corner and i cant afford to be going every time to drop of paper. he promised me that he would look into it and call me back never did!!!. Now i have to do there job and go weigh the truck  and pay $30 out of my pocket so i dont get my truck towed or impounded can u believe this place the nerve they have!!!!!

This was my first car buying experience and I must say it was amazing! Capitol Chevrolet gave me a sense of calm about buying a car. It was not a battle but more of an assistance. I had my eye on the Spark for my commute and was willing to get a base model to save money. After my purchase, I picked up my car and drove it home. I had the worst buyers remorse because I felt like I compromised too much on what I wanted (and my wife was not happy with my purchase). As soon as I got home I realized what I truly wanted the Sonic LT. I  called the Sales Manager and he said to come right in and he would put me in the Sonic! I was so relieved . You aren't going to believe my story! I was ready to buy a 2013 427 Corvette with cashier's check in hand. Went to pick up the car and found extensive damage to both rocker panels. Found out this car was used in a promotional video on youtube that caused the damage. Manager said they would make it right and paint the car. I was scheduled to pick up the car the following weekend, and the manager called me the day before and said the new paint job would be $4,000. Then he said the dealership will pay $2,000 and I had to pay the other $2,000 for the damaged they caused! So as far as I'm concerned, this dealership is unethical, non-truthful, and did not deliver on their promise of "MAKING IT RIGHT". I would avoid this dealership and BUYER BEWARE of the Silver 427 Corvette!

I was going to buy my new vehicle here.  This wasn't my first time so I knew what to expect.  Buying a car is not like buying shoes, this is a major purchase if your going to take my money at least show a little professionalism.

I was being helped by an elder man, stated he was new, he showed me around.  Real nice man, hella  patient, soft spoken, friendly.  
I found what I was looking for but it was missing a nav system.  
He walks me in and introduces me to this youngster and walks away.  
This is were it goes bad.

So we start going back and forth he puts 2, 3 different offers on the table WHILE playing on his cell phone, bragging about its a 64 gig iphone asking me how many gigs my phone is. I ignored him but he kept asking finally I pick up my phone and say its not an iphone it's a galaxy IM ANTI APPLE PRODUCTS but my phone does have a 64 memory card.  He keeps bragging about driving an escalade, which he pays $1,300 a month cuz he just refinanced it and he still has to pay another 3 years.   talking about what school he went too.  
BUDDY WHO CARES!!!  I just let him talk while I did math in my head.
I pointed out the vehicle wasn't really what i was looking for.  Do to some speks I don't care for it's a high price and i really want a Nav.  He said "They don't make the vehicles like that, they either have it or they don't.  If you want cloth interior there is no way you are getting a nav.  They don't make them that way,,, this is the vehicle you liked I don't see what the problem is just buy it"
Yeah You Dumba$$, I liked the TAHOE and they all look the same from the outside now I'm looking for details I want at a reasonable price.  

The next day I got what I wanted from Courtesy Chevrolet. I saved about 3,000 plus the navy.  (Not that happy with them either but there service was way more professional than this place.  read review)

So I took in my suburban to be taken a look at regarding my oil light that has been going on which I assumed maybe it needed some type of sensor change. Well after my truck was taken a look at I was told I needed a new engine!!! I was super shocked and felt as they were trying to jack me, which they were!!!

I would never in my life recommend this shop ever! They just want your money. I ended up just  paying a service fee of $145.00 so they can tell me I needed a new engine, which they also were not able to give me an exact quote, but all I was given was $7,000 plus. This is bullshit a new engine and my truck is a 2007!!!!

I took my truck into another shop and all that was wrong with it was that I needed to get a sensor replaced which only cost me $250.00! Glad I took it into another shop

I was interested in a pure electric car or a plug in hybrid and I did a lot of research into different models and features. I went to Capitol Chevrolet because they were close and are a high volume dealer for the Volt. I got a test drive and Greg Wilson was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful even though I was clear that I was still researching leases and that I would not be deciding for about a month. He sent me a couple emails in the meantime, and when I called them up with competing deals they matched the pricing.

Greg went out of his way to accommodate our tight schedule and pull the sale and financing off without notable inconvenience. There were a few teething problems initially (not their fault), but Greg was diligent about getting them resolved quickly.

Both Greg and Kirsten (Customer Relations Mgr) followed up after the sale to assure that I was happy and to inform me about the features of the Volt, Onstar, and related phone apps.

And I'm very happy with the Volt, and with their service.

I don't really know where to start.
I bought a car from here. The sales guys that sold me the car barley spoke English (which is not a problem with me) but he wasn't even able to communicate with me at all. So this is my first time to buy a car and I tell you one thing: The financing guy(Tony you my friend is a big con job) knew for a fact that I've never owned a car before and he took every benefit out of me for that. Now it is also my mistake for not researching how to buy a car but here how it went:
He runs a credit check on me and he comes back to me telling me that he is going to sell me the 17ks car with a 20% APR and 4ks down payment and I said ok to myself I will finance 13ks and it is not bad at all.
The con job that happened to me is after I signed the papers and a day later I look at the papers and it says that I was financed for 17ks and the 4ks that I paid it was "dealership fees". Son of a gun took my money knowing that I don't really have any experience on how to buy a car and financed me for the whole 17ks with a killing 20% APR. Now everywhere I go to a dealership and tell what had happened to me they think that it was a clear scam and that it is not even ethical from a company to take that much money for "dealership fees".

Now I don't have his name on my yellow papers, he is so used to the shady deals that he wouldn't even bother putting his name down on my papers. I only have his title: FIN MGR.

People be careful when you go to this place. It is the worst that can happen to anyone that is happily trying to buy a car. They turned my life upside down with their con job.

I would love to see the government emplace restrictions on con jobs like this one against first time buyers. It would make sense to have a set of rules so people won't be fooled by pro-scams like I was fooled.

Yelp removed my first review (too many harsh words) but this is not the end of it. I'll tell everyone that I know to stay away from this place that runs deep scams on noobs like me.

The problem is that I came across Shaun the owner once and he is a great guy but what can I say about a bunch of guys that needs some ethical job training.

My experience with these guys was awesome.  I dealt with  Issac Amaya over email to work the deal first then met him at the dealership for a test drive and to work out the trade in of my old.  He was a total class act and got us a great deal on my new sonic rs.  Took good care of my wife and I, answered all of our questions, and wasn't pushy even when we switched from manual to automatic and he even found the same car and color in an automatic.  Overall, just a great experience and Issac was great at following up to make sure all was okay in the days that followed.

Thank goodness for happy accidents!

So I had an appointment at Courtesy Chevrolet (which I've given a few low-star reviews) that I was NOT looking forward to. After my negative reviews, I had been contacted by the girl who helped me and two separate managers. They actually CALLED me about it. Honestly, it was getting a little weird.

Oops, I'm on a tangent. Anyway, I had an appointment with Courtesy, but through an intense blonde moment and Siri being a useless hag, I ended up at Capitol. I walked in confidently, and told Eduargo (I hope I spelled that right 'cause he was awesome!) that I had an appointment. As he searched through the computer for my non-existent file (being super polite the whole time), I looked down at a business card and realized that I was in the wrong place. I was super embarrassed, but when I admitted my mistake, Eduargo was totally cool about it. He fit me in (right away) even though I didn't have an appointment, and he didn't make it seem like an inconvenience at all.

They had to keep my car overnight, so he helped me get a rental car for 24 hours and emailed me a diagnostic chart stating what was up with my car and what the warantee I have did and did not cover - super helpful!

A lot of places will try and tell you that you need extra, expensive, unnecessary things done just to get money, especially when they see that you're younger or female, but there was no bullsh*t here, just super friendly, honest people.

I will definitely be coming back whenever I need work done on my car, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone with Chevy issues.

So I found a posting for a car I was looking for online talked to Eric over the phone told me about the car I was looking for one with a sunroof he said it had one so I took out cash from my bank drove an hour in traffic to buy the car only to find out it didn't have one manager Steve offered to install it but wanted me to pay for a warranty on top of the price that was posted with a sunroof I was so mad for them wasting my time I just left and never got gas promised by Eric for my driving down there  if I didn't like the car I would of bought it with a sunroof and the worse part they still have the ad up with the price advertising a sunroof

My parents are long time chevy lovers and when I was in the market for a small SUV I knew I had to visit Capital Chevy. So I was comparing the Honda CRV and the Chevy Equinox 2LT. But when I visited Honda the sales agent assumed it was a done deal before we even ran the numbers. And tried selling me a black on black car that they didnt even have on the lot. Im sure we can all agree this is what we hate the most as buyers....can you give me a minute to think about it before you assume I am buying. So I walked over to Capital Chevy and was warmly greeted by the Sales Associate Ed. Even before pushing me to settle on one car (which I already knew what I wanted to see) he explained the different models and what they had on the lot.

So I settled on the Equinox 2LT, grey with navigation. I am in love with it and it met all I needs. Ed explained to me that he was most concerned with me being a happy car buyer- So I really felt like he was about making me happy.

Now I hear the commercials and when they say "be a happy car buyer" and I recall hearing this throughout all our negotiations. If you have any needs for a new or used car ....def recommend Ed as a sales associate.

I went into the dealership indecisive of what type of car I wanted and Robert Perez, the Sales Consultant, assisted me in narrowing down my search completely. Robert's outstanding knowledge of the cars helped tremendously - he was able to identify the key factors and features of each car my husband and I were looking to get. And surprisingly these days most Salesmen are more concerned with making a sell more than knowing product. I was there almost all afternoon because I wanted to look at different cars & see the price variance of each, but Robert was so personable, patient, and willing to go above & beyond for us. When Robert brought up the Cruze for us, I immediately knew that car was meant for me. Rachel assisted us with the paperwork, she was very clear when explaining everything and she was a sweetheart too. Our 2009 Chevy Traverse was totaled in an accident so we came to Capitol Chevrolet looking for a replacement Traverse or Equinox. Erik Butter was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about the different vehicles/options available. The first visit we were not ready to buy, but Erik took his time with us, test drove different vehicles and patiently explained our options. Everything was transparent and above board. We bought our second car from this dealer because the first Chevrolet Dealer had delayed and then messed up the HOV sticker application causing a significant delay.

The sale of the car was quick. The trade-in deal was the usual rip-off. All in all things looked more promising than at the previous Chevrolet dealer.

Unfortunately this dealer messed the HOV sticker application as well causing over a one month delay. They made two mistakes: First they told us that they would handle the HOV sticker application and told us that we should not apply for it ourselves - only to call us two weeks later to tell us that we had to do it. We then filed ourselves - only to receive a rejection letter from the DMV because the dealer had incorrectly classified the vehicle at the DMV.

The dealer had also promised to sell us several accessories at cost. However, they did not honor this promise. Instead they offered to sell the accessories at a 10% discount. They told me that at that cost they only made 50 cents, which I know to be false, since other dealers offered to sell us the accessories for a lower price.

Lastly this dealer did not honor the TrueCar "Minimum Savings over the MSRP".  I would not use TrueCar or shop at Capitol Chevrolet again.

I took my mother in law to this dealer after researching Malibu's for about 2 weeks.  I had some various internet searches and there was very specific requirements needed.  One being very simple the car must be "red" the other features she was very open to so long as it wasn't over the top with features she wasn't going to use.  The dealer had over the email that there was various black ones in stock but he had found a red one in his research.  Now we came prepared with thoughts of cost and ready on standby with a trade in so that we can get the ball rolling.
We went to the dealership at our specific time and was handed off to someone other than the one she was email back and forth. Keep in mind this is the second time this has happened.  We where shown the models so that we can get an understanding of the vehicle.  We even went as far as going on the test drive so that she was confident and comfortable with the vehicle.  The other test was that my big self can fit int he passenger side.  All things considered it was fine.  Now comes the time of "sit down" and everyone has had to go through this.  First they "looked" for a red car for her and came back within minutes saying none was available.  Then the rushing of going back and forth with the numbers here and there.  Now we didn't have the trade in on site so we had to go back gather and get things going.  I saw the hesitation in her eyes so I opted for the walk away grab some dinner and think about this.  Buying a car is a big deal to us normal people out there.  Well we were able to escape the clutches of this dealer and we even had some phone conversations with the original dealer after we left.  We informed over the phone that yes the black Malibu was a fine car indeed but it was not red and therefore we were going to go back out and look for a red vehicle and if there wasn't one that fit her needs then we would be back to their site should she feel confident enough etc.  Here was their response:

"Wait im confused last night you told me you would be back today after church and that you really wanted the car.  That is what you said right.  I just want to make sure I heard you correctly. Greg got the car ready for and went through all the trouble to gas it up and do the onstar registration.  Why wouldnt you just havw told us this in the first place.  This is our job and we take it seriously.  If we give our word to someone we keep it and we expect the same back.  Regardless bring your trade in to us and maybe we can give you more for it."

Now remember all we did was discuss over all the finer details of the vehicle and we had not owned up to anything.  There was other emails here but that email really didn't sit well with her so she went off in the morning to Piercy Toyota and walked up to a fine gentlemen who treated her with the utmost respect and she got more car for the deal.  At the end of the day a bit more pressure from Chevy and now "nice" emails from them trying to get their customer back.

With this day and age of electronics and opinions online you would think people would treat people with a bit more dignity and respect.  Just because she was a women doesn't give you the right to bully her around.  That's what I saw.  By the way I myself WAS looking at an Avalanche but refuse to go this route now and will be looking elsewhere to provide vehicles for my family friends and business....

They had a car transferred for me that I liked at a Fremont dealer within their group and bam I was in and out in less than 45 mins. That is what I call a great car buying experience. DGDG is supposed to be a great experience right??? WRONG! Well let me start off by saying I have bought one car from there only because the second time i was going to go get a car from them apparently I wasn't "good enough" to buy the car I asked for.

First car i bought was a Chevy Cruze great experience did it all on-line no hassle no problems :) BUT then I asked about a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and well that is when the DGDG experience went all wrong.......

I wanted to purchase a Chevy Camaro ZL1 for my husband as a surprise... now I'm a T-shirt and jeans type of person and when i went to go ask about how to order one the finance guy behind the desk looked at me up and down then with a smart a** attitude remark said with a smirk "sure you can order one you just need to come back with a $60,000.00 check in order for us to take you seriously."  um mm EXCUSE ME?!?! I then responded "ok... could I get a card and we could talk further to see how i can order the car exactly how i know my husband wants it" he ignored me when he so blatantly ignored me a younger salesman eager to make a sale rushed right over to hand me his card.

I never knew that you had to come in with a $60,000.00 check to insure the delivery of a car!!! I was so upset because I truly felt that I was not taken seriously because I was in a T-shirt and jeans WTF?!?!

The comment and demeanor of the finance manger pissed me off since he obviously judged the book by the cover. I couldn't help but tell my husband about the situation.  A few weeks later he mentioned to me that Chase Chevrolet had the EXACT car he wanted and he wanted to go "look at it" we live in willow glen and chase is in Stockton that's almost 2 hours away but being the supportive wife I said OK. I was a bit nervous the whole way there not really knowing what was going to happen.  We pulled up and quickly Joe the sale rep said "Can I help you?" we pointed to the ZL1 and said "we want that one" he pulled our credit we put 7K down signed the paper work and drove the car off the show room floor the whole thing took 45 min now that was on hell of an experience!!!

such a shame that Capital Chevrolet with DGDG  could have made that sale especially since the damn car has a $20,000 mark up WOULDN'T THEY WANT THAT SALE?? but no they had to be better than you and swear they already know you based on judging a book by its cover never will i buy a car from DGDG much less recommend it!!!

A trip to Capital Chevy = total waste of my day.  Went to test drive a new family SUV. We were honest up front about our credit history and our concern for financing. They ran our credit, told us everything was fine. We haggled on the price but needed to leave for another obligation and told them we'd return that evening. Went back, signed all the paperwork and were literally driving off the lot when they came running after us to say that our loan app was denied and we couldn't have the car. Really?? REALLY??  Because that wasn't the very concern we expressed and in the FOUR hours we spent at your dealership you couldn't figure that out until we were driving off. They never returned our down payment check (it wasn't cashed but we still want it back) and several calls and emails have all subsequently been ignored.
Then to add insult to injury we find out that our salesman gave our personal information to his friend who subsequently tried contacting us numerous times to 'help us with our situation'.  This blatantly goes against GM's privacy policy but all their manager could do was apologize and say it won't happen again.. doesn't do me any good now!

Had a great experience with Isaac and Steve. I got the Chevy Volt which is a great car. I have always owned Japanese vehicles for their reliability but the Volt got my attention and after doing some research and driving it, I realized that it was time to make the switch. I got a great deal and Isaac was great in getting the approval from the bank. Steve did a great job explaining all the options on the car. I had a small issue with the charger and Isaac went out his way and came to my house with a different charger to see if he could figure out the issue but then realized that the issue was with my garage outlet. It was not grounded and that's why the charger wasn't working. So I hired an electrician to run a ground wire for that outlet and now it is working just fine.

Horrible customer service. Not only do they fall under the snake like salesmen stereotype, but they use tactics of force to keep you there when you want and beg and plead to leave. Just horrified by the whole experience. They wouldn't give us the price after obvious incentive discounts even though I was quoted a price over the phone already. We were considering a trade in. They asked for keys and we had to wait for an hour plus to get a price on the car which we never did and when we wanted to leave thee refused to give us back our keys to our car to leave. We had to ask 3 times and make a scene whole being asked "What's wrong?" What's wrong is they weren't giving us the key back to our own vehicle. Totally rude!

For the last decade, I've owned or leased a Honda.  When the company I work for decided to put in EV stations, it definitely got my attention.  Once I heard the HOV stickers would be available, I started thinking seriously about an EV!  So I shot over an email to Capitol Chevy to see what kind of deal I could get.  I kept getting email after email, with different info, pictures, and I'm thinking, what the heck is up with this guy!?  I never told him to stop, and in a couple weeks after I got back from vacation, I was like, hey, what was his #???  Then I was happy I had emails at my fingertips :)

After setting up an appt to meet with Paul Duran, I was still having second thoughts.  I had just paid off my Honda, but every time I pulled into a gas station (even with my great MPG car!), and every time I was in stop & go traffic for an hour to go 20 miles, I would think about the Volt.  Sure there were other EV's on the market, and they could get the HOV stickers also, but lets face it.  The Volt is just hands down the best looking one.  Hey, that is always a factor, right!?  

So I go and meet Paul, find out the deal is exactly in the range I was looking for (and no haggle, hassling, GREAT experience) and signed the papers right then.  Woo Hoo!  What an awesome car.  The first ride home was an eye opener.  Test drives are just not a good way to "really" check out if the car is right for you.  Yep, put that sucker in Sport Mode, blasted the Bose speakers, and fell in love on the spot!

I've never loved a car before, it is quite an interesting experience.  I pat it in the garage "don't worry, we'll go driving tomorrow", actually READ the manual for the first time ever for any car, and get excited every time I drive to work.  Whats up with THAT!!??

Never mind the check I just got for the Clean Energy rebate, or the ONStar service free for 3 years (which I love love love) or the 30 gig hard drive that I packed all my music on and still have 70% left, I HAVEN'T EVEN BEEN TO A GAS STATION YET!   2 months,  2000 miles, 3.9 gals of gas.  Oh, how I so do NOT miss the gas station.  Hey, does anyone even know how you put gas in this thing??

Oh yea, and my commute now is a sweet 25-30 mins each way, no matter what time of day.  If I had more thumbs, they would all be UP!  :)

I set up a Volt test-drive through this dealer's site. I was contacted by Paul Duran, Capitol's "Internet Fleet Manager." We set up an appointment for a Saturday morning at 9am and when we got there, there was no one around. Literally not a single person in sight, even in the makeshift tent that is apparently serving as their office/lobby during construction.

Just before we left, someone walked in and asked if we needed something. He went to get a car salesman who I assumed was Paul, but it wasn't. Paul wasn't even there and, according to the rest of the staff, "didn't get in until around 11." But the new guy was nice and was very helpful during the Volt test-drive, so whatever.

A day after the test drive, I got this email from Paul (the first time I had heard from him since scheduling the appointment that he missed):

"I just wanted to say thanks for coming in today and letting me help you in your vehicle-buying decisions. If I can do anything else for you, please let me know.  Here is some additional information on the vehicle you looked at today."

So I reported his email as spam so Gmail would block them and I moved on with my life... or did I? I continuously got more emails from him, including one with the headline "Still interested in a VOLT???" (Notice the extra question marks).

"If you would like, I am available to set an appointment to help you in your decision-making process.  If you have already purchased another vehicle or are no longer looking, please let me know so that I can remove your name from my computer system."

At this point, I replied that I was no longer interested in his services and to please stop emailing me.

He immediately replied:

"Did you buy a Volt????  =)

We purchased a 2010 Chevy Tahoe a few days ago, and we had Frank Fletcher as our salesman. He is so nice and made it a pleasant experience for us. From walking the lot with us, to making us laugh and enjoying our test drive to explaining and answering all of our questions to helping us with numbers so we could leave with the truck we had our hearts set on, Frank was very helpful all around. Two days after our purchase, I called the dealership with some question for him about our new Tahoe and he was happy to look into things for me and told me it was not a problem and to contact him with any other questions. It's nice that even after the sale, he still cares about helping his customers and making sure theyre happy. I would definitely recommend using Frank as your salesman if youre in the market for a new Chevy.

I purchased a car here about 1.5 years ago after a terrible experience at another Chevrolet dealership. The sales person at Capitol made the process easy and fun.

Today, I went to the same other dealership (which is closer to my house) for a rattling noise that my car was making. I was told that my car wasn't under warranty (which is was) and basically that they couldn't help me. I was furious and drove over to Capitol Chevrolet hoping that they could help me.

Edgardo Oliver was my sales consultant and he was amazing. First of all, he calmed me down immediately by saying that my car was ABSOLUTELY under warranty and they could help me figure out the problem, at no cost to me. He even offered to give me a rental car for the day for all of my trouble while they solved the problem. I was there for a few hours today and he really went above and beyond to make sure that my customer experience was as good as possible. I was very impressed with the entire team at Capitol Chevrolet and definitely would say GO HERE if you live in the Bay Area and are looking for a Chevrolet.

Went to Capitol Chevrolet yesterday, 6/10/2012 - and tried to make a deal with the sales people there. We were offered ridiuclous monthly payments on a 2012 Equinox. After spending an hour wasting our time, we said forget it and came home. I then emailed the dealership and told them of our disapointing visit and within minutes received a call from "Erik Butter" - remember this name. This guy is amazing!!!  For the next hour Erik did whatever he had to do to make the deal. But even more incredible is - he delivered us our brand new Equinox to "Salinas" - on a Sunday night at 10:00 p.m. to close the deal. We got the interest rate we wanted, we got the monthly payments where they needed to be AND it was delivered to us clean and with a full tank of gas"  who does that???? ERIC BUTTER DOES! Dont waste your time with anyone else, seriously, just go see Eric. He will get what you want or need in a timely fashion and with a sense of humor. Thanks Erik!!!

We purchased a 2012 Camaro, Transformer edition.  That in and within itself is pretty darn exciting, especially for my husband, since he's been wanting a sports car for a while now.

I have to say what ever positive experience we had purchasing the vehicle, which was minimal, has now been overshadowed by subsequent events that prove to be plainly irritating and disgusting.  I hate to admit it, but my Dad was right, never buy a car from Capitol Expressway.  In one way or another they end up ruining your day, or in this case, your month.  Our sub-woofers took two trips to resolve.  Our brand new CD player in our brand new car needed to be replaced and that experience was just plain awful.  I won't get into the sordid details, but if you are interested, PM me.

I'm not a big fan of people wasting my time without results or my husband being told by the service guy, Edgardo, that we shouldn't have talked to the Manager, Sheriff, because it got him in trouble.  Really?  Super unprofessional and not to mention NOT cool!  Maybe if he actually followed through and called us to inform us about how long it would take to replace the CD player, we wouldn't have to speak with a manager.  We waited two weeks and still we didn't hear from him when he assured us he would call and let us know the status the next day.  What does he really expect?

One of the things I really dislike about this place is how we always had to call them to follow up with things.  I think we also could have lived without the General Manager telling us that maybe we should have shaken hands, walked away as friends, and not sold the car to us.  That's really nice to hear after he accused me of calling him a liar.

This whole event was such a side show I can't help but laugh every time I think about it.  It got to the point where I had to ask the GM to make sure no one did anything to our precious second child since it had to stay there for several days.

In the end, we are glad this horrific experience is in the past.  Moving forward, we definitely wouldn't go back here for our services or recommend this place to anyone.

This place is living proof why GM filed for Chapter 11.

I took my truck in for service.  I used to take it there when it was Carl Chevrolet and it was great.  This was my first time since Del Grand took it over.  I took it in for a factory recall on the HVAC blower wiring.  I assume they did that, but will not know if they fixed it for awhile since it was an problem that happened infrequently.  

But hear is the interesting thing.  My son took his Impala in for regular service at the same time.  They told him when they called to say it was ready that his steering rack was leaking and should be replaced.  They told him they would order the parts and call him to make an appointment to fix it.  Then on the same phone call they said my truck was ready and I also had a leaking steering rack that should be replaced and also the seal on the rear of the transmission was leaking.  Two vehicles with the same unreported problem at the same time?  I was suspicious to say the least.

So I pick up the truck and talk to the service adviser.  I ask him how bad the leaks were.  He says he didn't see them, but that the mechanic would not recommend the repair if they were not necessary.  Then he looks at the paperwork and says the mechanic says the transmission is a 2 on a scale of 1-5 where 5 is a slight leak and 1 is it pouring out.  So he fact tells me it is significant.  I told him I would have it checked out, but I made it clear that if he were BSing me, I would not be back.

Well I got home and climbed under the truck.  There was no dripping from the transmission, only a sign of some grease and dirt around the front U joint, which is normal.  I could not find any sign of leakage around either boot on the steering rack, and no dripping or sign of anything other than normal road grime.  I will have another mechanic check it out this week, but I am pretty sure they are just trying to get more work for unnecessary repairs.

I would be very careful with these people.

I just bought the most perfect tahoe ..

My Interent Manager that assisted me in my entire purchase was Erik Butter. Erik was very focused on my needs and my wants. He listened as I talked and told him the things i wanted and didnt want.. He found the perfect tahoe for me. It was low miles for a 2004 and had all the right amenities i needed . His boss Shariff was also very helpful. He secured a price that I couldnt refuse. i worked with me and never once pressured me. I almost felt like i needed to buy the tahoe becuase of such a good job they did. The earned that sale . How could i pass on it ..?? good price, good service, good overall expereince ..
I thought i almost had special treatment .. but even when i talked to the guest at the next table they told me they were getting the same service from there sales guy named Ryder and his manager who was also Shariff.

I recently bought a 2011 Chevy Camaro from Capitol and everything about the entire experience was 5 star.
First of all, I am new to this country, I am new to 'car buying' in this country as I am new to a whole lot of seemingly obvious things.
The moment my wife and I entered Capitol we were greeted and treated with a lot of courtesy and respect.

Ryder, was assigned to give us a tour and he very patiently took us around and went on multiple test drives of many different vehicles. He was very professional in his conduct and very patient throughout the evening despite of me asking some pretty 'obvious' questions. He also helped us finalize a model that would suite our budget and needs.

I bought the car the next day. Yes, it took me just one visit to Capitol and a couple of visits to some other dealers on Steven's Creek to figure out the tremendous difference in the way one treats a customer.

Ryder and the manager, David, both were super supportive and made sure that we left the shop as 'Happy Car Buyers'. They took care of my financing with Star One, DMV and every minute detail that you would know if you would have bought a car , in my case, I hadn't and these guys went the extra mile to explain me everything.

I drove the car for 500 miles before writing this review and there have been no surprises. Well thats not true, I am quite surprised the way people have been showering me with compliments on my new car.

This is a great place and those are some really great people to work with. Give them a try, I can assure you, you will get everything that you can ask for from your car buying experience.

We don't like buying cars. It should be a simple experience for a cash customer to buy a car, but car dealers still play games, run credit reports (they claim they're required; I'm not so sure), and have slippery, confusing pricing.

So we were prepared for the worst when we went to purchase a Chevy Volt, and were pleasantly surprised when we went to Capitol Chevrolet, the second dealer we went to that day, after visiting a different "Yelp one-star" dealer.

We were greeted by a salesman who calls himself "Ryder", and took us on two test drives. They had several Volts on the lot, and there was one with the option package we wanted. We were able to take the care on the freeway, and try it in various modes, under battery and gas engine. (Ryder claimed that people tell him he looked like Anthony Michael Hall. He doesn't.… )

This dealer made us wait a long time, as most car dealers do (not sure why they do that), and we were handed off to a manager "William" to actually make the deal. We wanted to trade in our current car, a 6-year-old Lexus IS-250.  While he first came back with a low-ball trade-in offer for it, after we stated we wanted to get at least the KBB wholesale price for it, he quickly met our request. William was polite and didn't play very many games.

There was another long wait for the finance manager, and we had to fill out credit forms and have a credit-check run even though we were paying cash.. However, there was no attempt to sell us on aftermarket crap like most dealers do (alarms, paint protector, undercoating, extended warranties.) We were very pleased that he didn't waste our time with this, and eventually we were on our way.


We came in to buy a Second Volt!  Again, they kept us waiting an hour and a half from the time we agreed on a price to the time we could sign the paperwork. But the worst part, and why I lowered their rating, is that the numbers on the final contract was a little more than $600 more than what we had agreed to with the sales manager. If we didn't have the foresight to photograph the "deal sheet" with our cell phone, we might not have noticed this.

Everyone pretended like is was a "mistake" of some sort, but I don't know how it could have been. The deal sheets are printed out with a computer, and the numbers are forwarded directly to the finance manager to print up the contract. It seems to me, especially with how the numbers are all broken down differently on each form, that most people would never notice this and that most of the time this technique would work.

It could have been a mistake, but I'd be very wary about recommending this dealer to anyone.

And whenever you deal with any car dealer, be careful to check the math. We've had many car dealers in the past try to do this; it's a common trick among car salesmen in the industry. And the "mistakes" are never in the customer's favor.

As GM shareholders, we're very concerned about this practice from dealers, as it hurts the brand. I will be in contact with GM Executive Management about this.

We have been in the market for a new Chevy Equinox. After doing a lot of online research and emailing multiple dealers, we knew what we wanted and what we wanted to pay. We went online and saw that Capitol Chevrolet had the car we wanted so we sent them a request for quote on Friday evening. They called us at 9am Saturday morning and after a few calls confirmed they could give us the price we wanted.

We arrived to the dealership and asked for Steve or Erik.  Met both, Erik let us know the car had just arrived on the lot the night before so it had to undergo a pre-sales check but would take about an hour. During that time, we test drove a similar car, started our paperwork and went through the specs of the new vehicle. By the time we were done doing the final sales paperwork, the car was ready. They followed us to the gas station to fill up the tank and we were good to go.

Being Suburban owners and having more than one in the family, we knew the vehicle and yet did extensive research into current available amenities, prices and costs and determined for us it was better to order the car how we wanted.  Capitol Chevrolet deserves a 5 STAR rating as their knowledge, helpful service in ordering, getting the best price, provided regular updates on construction and delivery along with making us 100% satisfied with all terms and agreements.  This is not just a slogan as they really mean it!  We had a little confusion and we saw them promptly respond with care, a great attitude and in short order made everything right so we would be 100% satisfied!  Ben the Internet salesperson, Keith his superior who helped with our order and processing and their sales manager William all worked diligently as a team to insure we had a great experience.  I can't speak for the entire team, but these three were wonderful!

 Before leaving with our new Sub, Keith made sure our Suburban was inspected, programmed important features, personally filled the car with gas (Not cheap) and went through a final run-through of our Suburban.  In a difficult economy where many businesses cut corners to make ends meet, I never sense this dealership did any of this.

Great first time buying experience.  I'm really glad dealerships aren't shady and pushy like I remember them being 10 years ago when I first tried!  I was referred to Capitol Chevrolet through my bank, because of an agreement between the two to take $750 off Chevy MSRP.  Isaac promptly contacted me after my bank sent the inquiry, and offered to pick me up at the BART station at whatever day was convenient.  He actually arrived in the car I eventually purchased, which gave me an opportunity to get a feel for it prior to test driving.  The rest went pretty straight forward.  Applied for credit, signed contracts, etc.  They detailed the car while I used their public computers, helped me set up On-Star, & gave a rundown of how the car features work.  And I was on my way.  Couldn't ask for a less stressful experience.

So I'm  A first time buyer, but in general I know enough to go out and buy a car with out being sold a lie. I had emailed a bunch of dealerships in the bay to see who would give me the best price on a chevy equinox 2012 or 2011.
This guy named Ben emailed me back and said they can beat whatever price by 200. Ok no problem, Orginally i was gonna go with my dad to have a co-signer, but they said just to come down anyways. I get a low offer from this dealership in redwoodcity, print out the offer then go down to the dealership. Now Ben wasn't there but i spoke with this guy named Robert, takes the email and gets his manger Steve.
Steve comes back and is like ooh well see this is the price but then there are these fees, taxes, blah blah and bascily we can't beat the price. OK! fine you can't beat it, but yet you didn't even try and get close to it or offer somthing else. YOUR JOB IS TO EARN MY BUINSESS! so you would think they would have tryed! But no It was like...ok we can't beat it, and thats it! WTF?!
So we went to curtosey! They were alot nicer, offered a great price, but now i think i'm gonna go for a v6, gonna go back with my dad in a few days.

My partner and I had been exploring the idea of buying a new Chevy Cruze since GM released it.  Since I live in downtown SJ I went to the closest Chevrolet dealership on Stevens Creek Blvd and was not treated very well at all!   I went to several dealerships before going to Capitol Chevrolet and was extremely excited by their enthusiasm and helpful nature.
I was introduced to Keith Reynolds at Capitol Chevrolet after mentioning I would like to order my Cruze from the factory.   He was very helpful in the process and explained every part of the ordering process.  I placed my order and he told me in would 8 weeks until I took delivery.  I got the car in 4 weeks and everything was perfect.  Keith was great throughout the ordering and paperwork process.  They gave me a great deal (better than I even  expected!!)  I couldn't ask for a better sales person or a better Chevrolet dealership!!

Hubby called the Internet Rep on 11/11/11, inquiring about a particular vehicle.  Nick, the Internet Rep, was extremely helpful and did area search for various vehicles.  We drove from Patterson to San Jose, just to do business with Nick and Capitol Chevrolet.  Nick met us at the door we looked at the car we came to buy and then ended up buying a different model.....again Nick was very accommodating, we even put the 2 vehicles nose to nose to decide which vehicle we wanted.  We arrived at 9am and did some quick negotiating with Nick and the Sales Manager, David, and signed all paperwork by 10:30a.  Jason in  financing got us in and out and made it so easy!

They took our NEW vehicle back to Service and had it detailed!

Great experience, friendly staff/sales representatives.  If you need a car this is place to come and totally worth the drive.

We recently bought a chevy volt from Steve Perez. It was such an easy buying experience. It actually felt eerily odd how easy it was. We told him a reasonable price we wanted to pay. He was able to get exactly what we wanted and he even found better financing that i had gotten from my credit union saving me thousands over the life of the loan. We did have a slight problem with the car so we brought it to there service department. Ed in service handled the car issue extremely well and made sure i had a rental car and explained what needed to be done. He exceded my expectations. I have to also mention Noe the technician who made sure that the rattle in door panel was gone.
I still can't believe i am giving a dealership  a five star rating. As always you need to do  your home work before buying a car. Once you do this is definitely the place to come.

My recent visit to Capital Chevrolet was experience I'll never forget.  I was actually on my way to a nearby car lot and decided to stop at Capital Chevrolet to check their inventory before heading over to the other car lot.  After about 3 minutes of browsing the lot, I was greeted by Sales Consultant, Frank Fletcher.   Frank was unlike any car salesman I've ever met.  He didn't put on a hard sales approach which most sales consultants are so accustomed to doing within the first 2 minutes of you stepping foot on the their lots.  Frank was truly interested in helping me find a car that find my requirements and was within my budget.  Frank went above and beyond what you would typically find for most car salesman.  Capital Chevrolet is fortunate to have Frnak as an employee.

Even though I already bought a 2011 nissan versa (LOVE IT) from another dealership, I might give another try to capitol chevrolet in the near future.

So some time ago I took my brother in to look at a brand new Chevy pickup...

We were treated with horrible customer service BUT.............

For one whole year the General Manager was trying to contact me to bring me back in to talk......(Mike L)

I told Him No I moved on for many months. He never gave up and Finaly I cracked and went in to "TALK".

This guy was Super nice and Straight to the point. I know it takes a real person to say sorry. BUT Mike did.......  

He said that This sales person had been bumping heads with the mangment for a long time and Was stuck in the OLD days of cars sales and with that reason they had to move him along.......

So I We talked for about 20 minutes and resolved our issues.... With the bad things that I said about this place yes they happened but I was givin a Meaningful apology and one day if i'm in need of a chevrolet I may give these guys another shot.

I'll start off saying that I bought my first brand new vehicle here. 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT with a ton of accessories on it. I loved the truck the second I saw it. Anyhow, my sales person was Keith who had some help from William when things got busy. They both were very polite and did their best to keep me happy and satisfied with my purchase. Sure, it took a while to get all the financing and approvals to happen but in the end it pulled through and they tossed in a couple of nice accessories that I would have ended up buying anyhow. On top of that I worked late and came in with only 45 minutes to close. I ended up leaving well over an hour after the dealership closed and nobody had any hard feelings; just a will to help and get the deal done. Overall, my experience here was alright. I will be back of course when I need anything for my truck and hope to receive the same good service when I return. Thank you for putting me in a truck I've wanted for over 10 years and getting me down the road.

I am late posting this, but they finally got my floor mats and all. Took a while about as long as it took me to update this..

This was the worst car buying experience ever. I only got the car here because it had all the features that I wanted. The sales person was shady, the sales manager wasn't any better, and the car is missing things like floor mats that I paid for. When I told the dealer, they told me just to stop in, only problem is that I live 75 miles away, so just stopping in is not an option. They didn't offer any other solutions.  My other problem is they weren't interested in providing service because that is what they are paid to od, but because they want a high rating for Corp. Well, they won't get it from me. Shop there at your own risk.

I recently bought a vehicle here. I was not pleased at all with my experiance. I actually love the car I bought from them, that is not the issue. The issue was the sales person I delt with. I went in by myself, not sure if it was because I didn't have my husband with me but being that this is 2011 not 1951 I didn't think it would be an issue. The salesman flat out lied to me about features of the car, acted irritated with me for asking questions and really didn't seem to want to spend time helping me, just wanted to take my money. When we went inside to "negotiate" he would not listen to me on what my absolute bottom line was. He kept trying to fast talk me and push me into signing a contract that I told him from the begining was not going to happen. I walked away and didn't think I'd go back.
I later delt with the manager who was very nice and honest. Because I really did like the vehicle I came back the next day and delt with someone else. I was pleased overall except one thing; they like to play the "waiting game" at this place. It brought back memories of my experiance there years ago. I had my two little kids with me this time, I just wanted to pay cash for the car and I was there for a hour and a half! He was e-mailing people, talking with co-workers etc everytime he walked away, my kids were rearing to go and he still took his time. I don't know what the delay was but it was ridiculous. I would go to a Chevy dealerhsip again but not this one.

I just bought a used Silverado.  I had made an appointment with Jason the day before to check out their inventory but unfortunately he was not able to meet; BUT with his professionalism and courtesy he contacted me way ahead of time and made arrangements for me to meet some one else on his team.   Richard, William and Scott were great in helping me with my purchase.  No hassle, no BS and straight to the point.  I bought a couple of vehicles from other dealerships in my life time but my experience in Capitol Chevrolet stood out of the crowd.  I will definitely recommend this dealership to my friends and family.  Definitely coming back for future auto needs!

This review is for the parts department only!!!

I was looking for a very specific part for my Chevy Tahoe, and the auto parts store was unable to find the correct part, if i was not describing the area or just not finding the right item. After looking for the part all day on Saturday, on Monday afternoon I decided to take a chance to get the part from a Chevy dealership, I know what we all think about them, but I was pleasantly surprised with Capital Chevrolet Parts Department, they knew exactly what I was looking for and within two minutes of being greeted in the area, I had the part in my hand and the cashier was ringing me up.

Everybody had a smile on their face, I do not know it was because they were charging me a higher price, or because I was in a good mood and had nothing to loose. Honestly the gentleman that helped me knew exactly what I needed and told me they do not just sell the cable only, but it is sold as whole assembly, and it was something I have done without for several months, but I was done with not being able to fix it, so I purchased the item and within a few hours I had the part installed in our vehicle.

The only reason I did not give 5 stars was due to the pricing the Chevrolet has on their parts, which is usually 10~20 percent more that an after market part, but the service of the service desk and cashier was incredible.

I went to the dealership to look for a new Chevy Colorado. Not one sales person walked onto the lot until 10 minutes after I had been there. His response of not being out on the sales lot was "he was just tired". WOW! ...didn't want to make a commission either then buddy; eh?

At least two other sales people were inside the showroom....just hanging out having coffee with each other. I guess they didn't want commission either.

After getting off to a slow start, and expressing my frustration. I was contacted by Mike Luner (general manager) personally the next day. I was shocked and pleased that he took time out of his day to address a customer concern. Mike reassured me whatever inconvenience that I might have had at his dealership he was willing to do whatever it takes to make my experience better. "And he did". Not only did he take care of my initial problem (check engine light) but he noticed that I had another minor issue (hood strut) that was missing, and he replaced that at no cost. "Beautiful". While waiting for my part to come in I had to relinquish my car overnight. No worries, rental car at your request which is what I did.  I can not be more pleased and impressed with the entire staff at Capitol Chevrolet. From my service advisor (michelle) to the service technicians. They were professional, courteous, and went above and beyond customer satisfaction. Keep up the exceptional work.

Great! Just awesome!!!

Got a recall on my car a few months back for my Chevy Cobalt. Decided to stop putting it off and found a dealership in San Jose. The dealership I bought the car is back in Bakersfield and that's a 4 hour drive! Also I thought the computer thingy in my car was freaking out and telling me my wheels were doing weird things.

So I go here. Pretty easy to find.

Everyone was super nice. Especially the girl helping set up my appointment and when I came in for the appointment. She was nice and full of smiles. She took everything down and off they took it. I waited in the waiting room which was nice and clean. A bit cold due to it was chilly and raining today.

After an hour and a half they she comes back with the key. Says the recall is free. Also I was crazy, the car was right. The wheels were doing weird things. They didn't charge me anything because it was quick and easy to look at the computer of the car apparently. They found my left rear had a nail in it and needed to be replaced and so did the other rear tire. Also it needed the tires needed to be rotated. I think they filled up my tires with air and let me go to find some place cheaper to do this.

But like I said they were super nice and super awesome. I'll be back here again if something happens to my car and only Chevy can take care of it!

I just purchased a car from this dealership and there service couldn't be better. I worked with Jason Rulien in sales and he worked hard to get me the car I want at a price that worked for both of us.

I will note there was a slight hiccup last week. I went in and thought I had purchased a car with them but the next day (mid-day), I found out the car was already sold to someone in Nevada. What happened was the car I was going to buy was at another dealership and by the time I wanted to buy it, Jason and team weren't able to verify the car was still available at the other dealership. They said there was a "slight" chance that it could have already been sold, but I wasn't expecting this to be the case. For some reason, I felt confident about the purchase when I put a deposit down and signed the sales contract. Unfortunately, the next day, they called and let me know the car had been sold. This was really disappointing.

But, Jason and team bent over backwards to make sure I was happy. I went back to considering a purchase with another dealership. I ended up deciding on buying an Equinox LTZ rather then 2LT. With the other car, I had opted for a different color then I originally wanted, without a sunroof. I searched the next day for inventory across the state and decided I would just go ahead and move forward with an LTZ. I started working with another dealership (one that I didn't really like, but at this point I just wanted to get my car search finished).

Jason and the team had an LTZ on a truck that matched what I was looking for, however it was going to take at least another week for it to arrive. The other dealership had it, only a day away from delivery, and they ended up offering a better price then Jason. I called Jason to let him know given I really respect how he is as a salesperson and I really value the team he works with a Capitol Chevrolet. I wanted to give him a chance and honestly, I really preferred to work with him versus any other Chevy salesman. Jason matched the offer of the other dealership (which I thought was fair, I didn't think it was necessary to ask for even lower) and he said he would work with it. We had a deal again.

This dealership will not only offer you a good deal, but you'll get to work with a team that is not overly "sales-y". You walk in there feeling comfortable and at least from my experience, I always felt like I could trust Jason in particular. He never steered me wrong. Other Chevy dealers I visited were the opposite. The dealership that gave me a good price which Jason matched, actually came from a salesman that I found very condescending. I much prefer giving my business to a dealership that I feel has good ethics and I find trustworthy. And Capitol Chevrolet is trying to ramp up their business again after new ownership and I want to help them out. They deserve it.

I am just amazed with this dealership and I've never felt so thrilled about purchasing a new car!  Yesterday, I purchased a 2011 Camaro and I was treated with respect throughout the entire transaction.  Jason Rulien is the best salesman I've EVER worked with and he got me the deal I was looking for.  

I walked into the dealership thinking to myself that I will be "attacked" by the sales person and I was mentally prepared to deal with that, however, when I met Jason, he seemed very polite and treated me like a real person.  He listened to what my needs were and worked extra hard to get the price I was expecting.  I appreciated Jason's true honesty with all the numbers and the options he shared with me.  I've had unpleasant dealership experiences in the past because I always felt that the salesperson wasn't being truthful and seemed like they were hiding the details from me.  Jason was the opposite of this and he worked as hard as he can to meet my needs.  I've already told my family how wonderful this dealership is and I absolutely recommend anyone to visit this dealership because it's definitely 'different' from the other dealerships.  The Capitol Chevy team will not pressure you but offer their help in finding the deal you are looking for!  On top of that, their service is a quick one and you don't have to waste your time waiting for an answer.  

Today, I took my new Camaro to the dealership to install the Bluetooth and exchange the wheels.  Again, I was greeted with respect and kindness by the entire team.  I talked to another salesman, Steve Sarich, who assisted me by taking care of all of my needs in a prompt manner.  

I am more than satisfied with my purchase and I hope my review will persuade you to at least visit Capitol Chevrolet before going to another dealership in town.  I am really glad that I made an excellent choice to visit them and feel complete satisfaction with my new auto purchase!

I called Capitol Chevrolet after finding an ad for a specific car that I was interested in. I told the sales rep (named John to remain anonymous) the maximum amount I was willing to spend on the car assuming it was in the condition they claimed. I told John there was no point in me coming out there unless that price could be met. John spoke with a sales manager and confirmed that price. John also said I should hurry since someone else was interested in the exact same car. I told John I was on my way and he said the car was waiting outside for me.

When I arrived about 1.5 hours later I was informed that the car was in another dealership at least 15 minutes away and that I'd need to wait to see it. Rather than wait, I wanted to first confirm the price we had discussed on the phone. The sales manager I spoke with said that price was not possible and that there had been a mistake. I was very upset and was about to leave, and then they came back to me with a price 7% higher than the maximum we had agreed to on the phone. I said that was unsatisfactory and after some back and forth we got to within 2% of the agreed upon price. In addition they told me they were going to lose money on the deal. Although I was not happy about the situation, I thought the sunk cost made it worth following through. We drove to the dealership that had the car, test drove it, and then took it to a mechanic to be inspected. The mechanic did not find any serious flaws, but pointed out that the transmission had been replaced and some panels underneath the car were missing and should be replaced at some point. However, the overall assessment by the mechanic was that the car was in good condition.

I brought these issues up with the manager and asked why the transmission was replaced and whether they would fix the missing panels before I made a purchase. They did not know why the transmission was replaced and were unwilling to fix the missing panels. We argued about the these details and eventually I just left.

In summary I was bothered by the following:
1) They agreed to a low price on the phone and then we had to go through a haggling session in person that ended up at a higher price.
2) They did not disclose issues with the car that an independent mechanic found. However, they did not claim to have thoroughly looked over the car either so this may be reasonable.
3) They were not able to close the deal when I asked to have the undisclosed issues repaired.

I'm not sure if most of the blame falls on John or the dealership as a whole. If in fact John misled me about the price to bring me in without consulting a sales manager, then perhaps the manager at the dealership tried hard to compromise on the price to make up for this. In all fairness, the price we reached after some discussion seemed reasonable based on my research. Had we gotten there in a more direct and honest discussion I might have purchased the car.
