Buying a car from Jay Vaswani at the Auto Emporium in San Jose was an unexpectedly enjoyable experience. My husband and I found him to be not only personable (outdone only by his friendly dog Dakota) but extremely knowledgeable, honest, flexible, and professional. We bought a beautiful, well-maintained Audi A6 with low mileage at a reasonable price. If you're in the market for a used car, we highly recommend his services.

He took us on a test drive for a truck we came to purchase but allowed us to see the rest of the vehicles to choose from. He gave us a great deal on a jeep we liked. Then he took our car for trade-in. After we went back with paperwork he financed it.
If you are looking for a straight shooter who can answer all your questions and tell you everything about the car - Go see this man.
He is honest about the car. Will show you the facts report, finance your car with their low rate.  Our first impression was that the place looked rich and expensive but when we set down with Jay and realized he is down to earth and no BS guy.
It took us less than 4 hours to select the car and buy it. And he has a great sense of humor. You want to have a good experience buying a car of your choice - Go see this man.

It could be a ZERO if possible, DO NOT try to sell your car to them. BOTTOM LINE: Jay is a liar, he doesn't care about his promises. They will try whatever tricks it takes to get you to accept their low ball offer!

Details of my story:
I put my 2006 Subaru Impreza on craigslist for sale, Jay contacted me and asked me to bring the car into his shop. After test driving, I told him all about the car and an accident it was in, then gave him an offer of $8900 to buy the car. He told me the price is good but he wanted to confirm with his partner, fine, I took the car home and sent him everything he wanted about the accident and repair. After a few days I asked him if they want to proceed with the purchase, he said yes and asked me to take down the craigslist, and confirmed our sale date to 08/18/2014. It was all smooth and up straight experience until the day before our appointment.

First he wouldn't reply to my texts or calls the day before, until he got tired and told me he would call me back at 6:30 because "he is at a party". And of course he didn't, when I finally managed to get ahold of him he told me "My partner still wants to see the car before we write you a check tomorrow, let's meet at 1pm because my partner only comes in after 12:30pm". I am already uncomfortable that even though he confirmed and the car still has the same condition but they want to "evaluate" the car again.

But I am still confident he would honor his own words and we'll just convince his partner together. Unfortunately I was wrong, fast forward to 12:50pm on 08/18/14, I went to my car and started driving to him and his partner. Then he called to confirm the options of my car so his partner can check KBB price again. Fine, I pulled over and gave him the specs. Minutes later he called again and said, "KBB shows the car is worth 9247, but given your accident my partner thinks we can only give you 8000." I asked him, "But you confirmed our price, does your confirmation mean anything?" Jay's response was funny, "Of course it means something, but my partner is the one who writes checks, can you take 8000?" Of course I wouldn't, so he said he would talk to his partner again and call me back. At this point I finally realized he might be just trying to trick me, after 20 minutes not hearing back from him I called again.

The final conversation between us revealed who is really is, a liar.
Jay: "I just talked to you 20 minutes ago, my partner is not here yet so I haven't talked to him."
Me: "But our appointment is 1pm, he is supposed to be there now, don't you think?"
Jay: "I'll just talk to him and call you back."
Me: "Please make it quick, I don't have all day."
Jay: "Feel free to re list the car, bye."

So all I got from his "confirmation" is a low ball offer from a "partner" who may not even exist. To top that off, I took down my ads, turned down several potential buyers simply per his request, wasted two weeks because I trusted his words. So my advice is: "DO NOT TRY TO SELL YOUR CAR TO THEM!"

I have attached the messages between me and Jay showing his confirmation, and at the end of the day Carmax took this car for $9000 which again proved this place is just low balling me.

Jay was a super professional no pressure saleman, and we appreciated that very much.  He had a Mercedes we were interested in purchasing, he let us take car to our mechanic and inspect it, even picking us up from the shop.  We ended up changing our mind on the V8 E350 and bought another car elsewhere a few weeks later. I was still calling him for advise and to check on his inventory, also asked him about his 3rd party warranty program.  Always was very helpful and a straight shooter.  He would have found the exact car I wanted as well, but we are an hour away and we found d\a deal too good to pass up near our house in the city.  Jay is by appointment only, and he is busy, so set a specific appointment time with him and he will take great care of you making the car buying experience super easy.

I recently purchased a car from Auto Emporium and had a great experience working with Jay and Gurpreet Grewal.  

Gurpreet was very personable and professional when we took the car out for a test drive.  He answered all my questions and was very helpful.

I have been to other dealerships where I've felt pressured, but not here.  If you see they have a car you might be interested in, I would definitely recommend checking it out!  

Pros:

* Pleasant overall experience
* Professional
* Fair price for the vehicle
* No pressure environment
* Staff is knowledgeable and responsive
* Jay is very quick to answer calls/questions/e-mail

Cons:

* Limited selection of vehicles
* Possibility of purchasing vehicle with no gas in tank, might need to fill up immediately after purchase

This review has been long overdue, my apologies to Jay and the Auto Emporium crew.

I have been in the market for a WRX hatchback for quite a while trying to find a good deal while also getting a vehicle that hasn't been beat up by its previous owners.  I had attempted to work with previous auto dealerships and either received information that was not true or their price was way out of touch with the market.

I experienced neither of those things at Auto Emporium.  

I found the WRX on craigslist and immediately called Auto Emporium.  They picked up the phone right away and were able to answer all my questions about the car.  I then asked for a car fax report on the car which they sent me as soon as we were done with the phone call.  Everything with this WRX seemed to be perfect so I arranged a time to see the car later that evening. I cannot stress this enough, make an appointment with them.  This will make viewing the car so much easier on you and them.  They meet you with the car ready to go and have all the paperwork and information on the car before you get there so you have everything you need to make an informed decision.

I met up with Jay over at Auto Emporium and he took me to the car in his showroom.  The car was perfect.  Exactly as he described it in his ad.  I couldn't have asked for a better example of what a used WRX should look like. We took the car for a test drive and Jay didn't just let me drive it around the block like most dealerships.  He let me get a real feel for the car, making sure I would be happy with my purchase.  We went on the freeway, drove on city streets, pretty much took it on a normal every day drive so I could really get an impression of the car and what it would be like to own everyday.

After the test drive, we returned to the office to discuss terms of the deal.  Jay was very accommodating with my financial situation.  He made sure I was getting the best deal possible.  

When you go to any other dealership the part you dread the most is the negotiating, they tell you all this crap to try and get you to pay more, then when you counter offer with a price the salesman disappears for a while and then returns.  They basically try to wear you down and make you wait so that you're willing to just pay what they want and leave.  

LET ME MAKE THIS CLEAR!  You do not experience this at all with Auto Emporium.  Yes they will work with you but there is none of this smoke and mirror stuff that you get at other places.  They will make sure that you leave with the best deal they can give you.

If you want a car at a fair price and a pleasurable purchasing experience then you need to go see Auto Emporium.

I have now owned my 2011 WRX for about a month now and absolutely love it.  The car is rock solid reliable and brings a smile to my face every time I take it for a drive.  

I could not be happier with my purchase from Auto Emporium.  When I am ready for my next car I know who I will be calling first!

I currently in the process of looking for a SUV for my growing family.  I was lucky enough to find a car for sale by Auto Emporium.  I called to setup an appointment and Mike called be back within a few minutes.  After looking at the car and taking it for a test drive, I felt it was a great car for my wife so I decided to come back another day for my wife to look at the car.

After I left, a few minutes later, the owner called me.  He understood my wife was pregnant and getting around isn't easy.   He decided to let me barrow the car to take home for my wife to see, drive and inspect.  Even better, they dropped the car off at my office.  EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

To make a long story short, the car did match what we were looking for so we did not purchase it.  Upon returning the car, Mike didn't give me a hard time and was very courteous.  I would definitely recommend Auto Emporium!!!
