Bought my car there almost 2 years ago and now I've decided to upgrade to something newer. They're very helpful and I'm excited that I'll take delivery of my second one from them later today. Thank you Matt & Sam.

Yeah sure its a shady place, but tell me a car lot that isn't shady?  Anyways i bought a used bmw here at a great price.  I've been driving it for a few weeks, no check engine lights and it hasnt imploded on me.  I know bmw's and consider myself a good weekend mechanic as far as hobbiests go.  The bmw checked out and was in great condition, despite the 127k miles.  Best advice i can give is before you buy any used car, do your research and learn how to properly inspect the vehicle. If you're still unsure, buy the warranty for a couple hundred bucks more.  Bottom line is when you buy ANY car over 100k in miles a check engine light is going to come on, its not a matter of if but when.  If your not handy with a wrench and you don't have deep pockets for repairs you have no business even considering these cars.  Be prepared to spend some time on youtube learning how to repair your car and get on the online forum for advice.  If you finance a luxury car with over 100k miles you are an idiot.  Anyways it was a smooth transaction, they took my trade in no questions asked.  With just a few signatures the car was mine.  They don't have much flex on price, but what i was offered was fair.  I'm satisfied.

My wife and I stopped by to look at a couple of cars on the lot. After 3 employees passed us by without acknowledging our presence, I flagged one down to ask if the cars were unlocked. He told me to try the doors and walked away. As I suspected, all 4 cars were locked.  We lingered for another 10 minutes but the employees were too busy talking among themselves and smoking cigarettes to offer any assistance. For a used car lot they don't seem very interested in selling cars. Makes ya think, what's really going on here?

This dealership is so amazing that I  purchased an Audi in February and within two weeks went back and purchased a BMW.  I couldn't believe how easy it was.  I went
to look at cars during my lunch break, a white convertible Audi immediately caught my eye but still wanted to look around.  As I walked around I kept looking over my shoulder waiting for salesperson to approach me and start pressuring me. Wrong......I was  able to look around as much as I wanted without ANYONE pressuring me. When I told them I was interested in the Audi I thought, ok here comes the dance ( the one between managers and salespeople). Wrong again!  I filled out short app told them down payment I had and returned to work. Two hours later Matt called to tell me I could pick car up after work.  I arrived there at 5:15 and on my way home with my new car at 5:30 pm.  Not only was process smooth but Matt told me that the down payment was actually $1000 less!  Unheard of!  With the $1000 I saved I was able to go back the following week and purchased a BMW.  I again received outstanding, courteous service.  And even though vehicles are purchased "as is" they go out of their way to correct/fix issues even after purchase.  Without a doubt I give this place 5 stars!

Very shady place.  My husband was about to purchase a Prius from them today.  As he was on the lot, I decided to look up the Yelp reviews and saw all the bad reviews, so I told him to not buy it until we could take it to Toyota or another mechanic for diagnostics.

When we told them we wanted to take it to Toyota they said they had their own mechanic and would not let us take the car to check with an external mechanic.  When we asked about the return policy since we couldn't take it to our own mechanic, he said buy at your own risk.

What kind of shady response is that?  How can we trust their mechanic?

Also, do you notice how all the people who give them 5 star reviews only have a few reviews under their belt in total?  Coincidence?  I think not...

I wouldn't buy from them.  No thank you.

We have purchased two cars from this place. First time was perfect and no problems on a chevy Silverado. Our most recent purchase was a Nissan Maxima and within the first few weeks our transmission started slipping. Matt promised to take care of us. It was a long process due to the warranty company however matt resolved our issues and satisfied us; this is the best used car dealership in san diego. I recommend getting vehicles from there because they go out of the way to ensure your happy with your vehicle. Good job Matt for making your customers happy and want to come back.

I came in to this place so many times debating if I should finance a car or not, especially from a smaller used car dealership. I can tell you that I could not have bought from a better place! These people are amazing to you, they make sure that you get in the car you want and they also make sure that you are satisfied after. They are not like most grimy small used car dealerships- they take car of you! I have now became great friends with them and plan on making all of my used car purchases from them! They have a nice selection as well, which makes the buying part pretty easy because there is always something to suit everyone :) I am a real person and I am truly satisfied with this place!!!

Recently bought an older truck from these guys. Left the lot and about a week later the transmission went out. Matt went out of his way to make sure I got the transmission fixed. All is well and I am back on the road. Good stuff. Thanks Matt

I was in the market for a car for myself and i needed one right away for work,  I was in the midway area and saw their selection. I saw a porsche for 6 grand and I said why not, I already have a brand new SUV for my family and this porsche is kinda perfect just for myself. I called miramar porsche and ask what would be needed to be done, and they said that I would have to do the 125k maintenance, when i brought it up to their attention, they said they did everything already and he was pretty sure about it. Matt keeps talking about how good the car is and how much they spent tuning it. My fault is that I didn't take it to a mechanic first but since its a porsche I would have to spend a lot just for them to check the car. After a month of barely driving it, all hell comes loose. Check engine on, and the car started acting weird. I bought a CEL reader and goddamn 11 codes comes on. Maf sensor, misfire, oxygen, the whole nine yards. I have never felt  dumb so bad. I replaced the spark plug myself (btw, everything underneath the car was disgusting, it looked like the car haven't been worked on in decades, and the plugs and coils was soaking in oil)and barely made it to a real Honda dealership and traded it in, the good news is that i brought the car at night when there is no mechanic and they gave me a fair price for the trade. i kinda felt bad but i still lost a couple grand just like that. Do not buy from these people, they will lie and tell you everything they need to to get you to buy the car,  if you want a used car, but it from a certified dealer not from these scam artist. This dealership doesn't even deserve a one star. Again, AVOID this place!

I would give less stars if I could. My husband and I dropped by here after doing some on-line research. We test drove the two Prius's on the lot black and silver '07. The black one was horrific-gross, dirty etc. We test drove the silver and asked if it had been in any accidents, anything we should know about-all the appropriate "used car questions". They said the car was perfect. We scheduled an apt to get a diagnostic done at Mossy Toyota and paid $106 out of our pocket to wait 2hrs and have Toyota tell me that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced and "someone" had manually turned off the check engine light-this is actually illegal!! Of course when we brought the car back they denied.
They let me take the car to get the diagnostic run and pay out of pocket knowing everything that was wrong. I'm glad I went into this reading the previous Yelp reviews-was hoping my experience would be different...but it wasn't. Terrible place!

I was considering buying a car from them (1999 323i, to be specific) but then I ran a Carfax...The odometer had been rolled back at least 50,000 miles! The "Carfax" they had on their website failed to mention this. I'm sure this isn't the case with all of their vehicles, but it might be a good idea to do some research before you trust these guys.

I purchased a Ford F-250 from Point Loma Pre-Owned on behalf of a research group at the University of California, San Diego. I worked closely with Matt over the course of 3 weeks in order to get the car registered with the university.

When I first test drove the truck, I found there to be a lot of play in the steering. After getting it inspected by university mechanics, we found the brake pads to be on their last limbs and its steering box to likely be faulty (play in the steering).

I returned the vehicle and Matt was more than happy to fix everything we found to be an issue with the truck. He purchased brand new brake pads, resurfaced the rotors, aligned the steering, and replaced the steering box with factory recommended parts. On top of all this, the price of the truck did not change. I then drove the truck again and found it to handle and brake spectacularly.

I could not expect any higher service from a used car dealership. Matt was not stingy at all in fixing what issues I found with the truck, something I could not find in any of the other dealerships I visited.

As this purchase was for the university using university funds, the paperwork to transfer the funds stalled midway through the process. Matt was very understanding and patient with this incident. He was more than accommodating in waiting for the money to come through.

Overally, I must say my experience at Point Loma Pre-Owned was phenomenal. The salesman are warm and welcoming and above all treat you as you should be treated.

The other reviews don't do this place justice. Each and every vehicle purchased second hand needs to be inspected by someone who knows the ins and outs of a vehicle. It is the buyer's job to understand any faults with an automobile before they purchase it used.

Thanks Matt!

These guys are great!  They went above and beyond to help me find exactly what I wanted and they financed me when I didnt think it could be done.  Thanks guys!

I have to agree with the previous reviewer Andrea. The sale of the car was great, the customer service during the sale was good, and then the same thing happened - one day, something happened and then it was a horrible domino effect after that. We took the car back to get it serviced and they said it was fine, they turned off the 'check engine' light. Even the owner Jay tried to help us out but he was as joke, all to well. You're better off paying the bigger bucks at a well known dealership - Toyota, Honda, Ford, etc - for the warranty, customer service, car servicing, and sales price than coming here. I have to admit, we did have our share into this by not asking as much questions as we should have to the rep. Regardless, this place is a joke and I highly do not recommend this place for any car or service sales.

I would recommend you do not buy a vehicle from this place. It may seem great because of the prices and the way the people act, but sadly they aren't all they claim they are. My husband and I bought a car from them and they tell you they have fixed all the problems and the car was ready to go. It seemed like they were telling the truth, the car was great for a few months, then one day 5 things went wrong at once. And of course when you talk to them they swear up and down that they fixed everything and it's not their problem.
