Reviews on Midway Chrysler Dodge Jeep & Ram

Sandy M. | 2015-04-22

What an awful experience! It started off great and ended awful.

I spoke with a woman on the phone! That started things off with a bang. She was knowledgable about their cars and others. She was super friendly. So I made a appt, she told me ask for someone else.
She said that the vehicle I was looking at would be ready for me too look at!

I get to the dealership, they had no idea who I was, the person I was told to ask for wasn't there, and the car wasn't ready. So I finally was matched up with another sales person . Then had to wait because they couldn't find the Car. 10mins or so later they found the car but wasn't able to drive it because it was blocked by other vehicles. So we went to see it and the new vehicle had damage to the rear and side! And the other vehicle had garbage in it like someone had been taking a break in it! But liked the vehicle and there were more on the lot! So I went to talk numbers!

Waste of time! We are military on a tight budget and they acted like they had so much business they didn't need ours!

Major disappointment! Be ware before you buy there.

Definitely not the caliber place I bought it from.  The waiting area looks like a dmv that can hold maybe six people.  It was a long time to get an appointment and it's just squished into this hill between other businesses.   It's not hard to get to and not too far away.  They can't administer nitrogen and besides just one oil change I haven't had that much more to deal with them.  In jax they had very comfortable couches and good TV and internet.  They had a deli in there and everything was much more spacious.

Buying a vehicle is never an easy process. The pressure from sales, the negotiating with finance...the whole process is just a nightmare.

Then I found Midway Chrysler Dodge Jeep. Harlan greeted us right away and took me to the 2015 Dodge Journey that I had found on their website a few days prior. After a nice little test drive with the entire family in tow, we went inside to discuss numbers.

Harlan really took the time to listen to exactly what my budget is and what it would take for me to purchase this vehicle. His manager Chad came over to talk to me and discuss numbers. To my surprise, Chad was able to knock the price down (more than I asked) and was able to offer me a really great deal on the car.

Overall, the process was fast, friendly and very impressive. I had actually gone to the La Mesa Dodge dealership a week prior and walked out the door because the manager there was so rude to me. At Midway I felt like a valued customer and I am 100% pleased with Harlan and Chad's efforts.

Bought a car with a ton of promises to get a detail and a gassed up new jeep. Took a day off work after tons of confirming with Andrew and Stan. There was no detailer on site and 7 weeks later with nothing done. These people don't return calls or texts and play nice until it comes time to fulfill promises. Then dealt with Jeremy who helped me get some detail
Work and a full tank as promised. A part was
Replaced, but my seat is still making noise( found this after purchase, sounds like plastic cracking).

Jeremy for fixing what you could

We lease cars, so our experience at a car dealership is important, since we will be back within a few years.
We recently leased our first Grand Jeep Cherokee yesterday and the friendly experience was awesome!!! Tim and Kevin on the sales team were amazing!! Full of knowledge and open to all questions. Chad, negotiated the price. He was fair and had fun with us during the process. Cary was the financial guy who moves at lighting speed!!! We will be back and more importantly now part of the midway jeep family!! Thanks guys for making our experience so great!!

Today I took my car in (2014 challenger-100 year edition) to get the finishing touch & protective coating  service I purchased when I bought my car. I had to leave my car there in the morning but their shuttle (a really nice minivan) dropped me off at work and picked me up once my car was ready, which was really great. I couldn't have been happier once I got my car back. It looked better than when I first drove it off the lot!
I drove off with a bigOsmile on my face.
A big thanks to Ryan C. in the service department for making it happen.

Kareem A. | 2015-01-22

One of the best car buying experiences that I've had. My salesman was great and finance guy was too. Everything was quick and easy. Plus I got a great car!!!

Mike F. | 2015-01-19

Time before last time I brought my car in for an oil change.  They do the vehicle inspection, everything was marked GREEN.  I went and brought one of the service techs out to my car and asked how the brake fluid can be an inch low and still be good?  No answer...  Talked to Bruce the service manager about it and he gave me a free oil change.

This weekend I brought it back for an oil change and was told it was $49 for an oil change that cost me $21 two months ago?  explanation was Sorry, we don't do that one anymore even though Mopar sends out a coupon for it and lists Midway as a location to get it done.

Talked to Bruce, the service manager who said with a care-less attitude they only do synthetics now because that's what Chrysler recommends for their new cars now.  My car is a 2011 and their forcing me to change?  They can't support a car that just turned 3 years old the day after Christmas?

Went to Ranch Jeep Chrysler and they had no issues doing the work.

Nathan D. | 2015-01-15

My review is on the service department as I bought my Jeep used. I've always had a great experience whenever I have taken my 2012 Wrangler here. They always get me in right away and either have maintenance done quickly or arrange a free shuttle to take me home. This really helps on the early morning appointments so my wife and 3 kids don't have to get up early to help me drop off the Jeep. Competitive pricing on oil changes and they wash my Jeep when done. I've dealt with Pat and Ryan the most and they have always been very professional. Free wifi and coffee in the waiting area. Lots of selection to choose from on their lot too.

Jenna C. | 2015-01-07

I love my Jeep but I would never buy another vehicle from Midway again.  After I signed away $25k and drove off the lot, they washed their hands of me.  I had a lot of problems with my brand new vehicle immediately, and they consistently had the absolute worst customer service I'd ever experienced, over and over.  Ever.  I mean, I realize things go wrong, but when I bought a brand new car from your dealership so recently that you recognize me when I come back with problems, make it right and take care of me!  Don't leave me stranded!  Believe me, I was at the dealership way more often than I would have liked, and it was never pleasant.  One time in particular I lost my mind because I was so appalled and so, soo over it, and the guy I was unloading on admitted that they all know customer service sucks at Midway.  Communication is non-existent, and blatant rudeness in the service department is their gold standard.  I finally got everything fixed on my poor Jeep, but it took several months and many, many contacts with management.

Matt S. | 2015-01-06

Bought a used 08 Titan LE with Ryan as the salesman. Was a little tough to get a break down of the numbers (they kept trying to give me a monthly payment and asking me if I could afford it... what was more important is how much the actual price of the truck was and how much the price of the warranty was...)

Also, they forgot to weigh the truck, so I had to go do that for DMV paperwork. Luckily they hooked it up with a couple free oil changes for the inconvenience. If you find the right car/truck, this place isnt too bad... just have to make sure you are getting what you want and not just walked along into signing an "affordable monthly payment".

Katrina-Mae S. | 2014-12-30

This place deserves a five but yelp is messing up but Gabriel Zamora is amazing! Spent a the whole day pricing cars and met a variety of sales people but this place-- they honestly make you feel at home. No pressure just there to serve my husband and I! Would recommend 100%! Thanks for the accommodation!

Bcs C. | 2014-12-28

Had a great experience at Midway Jeep.  We came in just to look , and left with a new 4 door jku.  Rick, Stan and Mike in sales all worked really hard to make the numbers work for us.  Very pleased
I would recommend them to any and all looking to pick up a new Jeep , or a new Viper... what ever your pleasure they got you covered.

Robert M. | 2014-12-20

Purchased a 2015 Jeep Cherokee at Midway Jeep, and let me just say that our sales consultant Lio Leon was really great. After a couple weeks of searching for the perfect family car we decided to take the Cherokee on a test drive. Since then we knew were walking away with this car. Best of all everyone at Midway made the experience feel welcoming and not at all overbearing. Again our sales consultant Lio was great by being very thorough in explaining the financials, and more importantly the safety features. I'm definitely coming back to this dealership for my next car. Thanks Midway Jeep!!!

Mark S. | 2014-12-20

Rick helped us get a great deal on a '15 Grand Cherokee Limited. Very knowledgeable about the vehicle and the technology, and he identified a deal that made more sense than just going with a base Laredo model. Highly recommended!

David C. | 2014-12-18

No one from Midway asked me to write this review.
I custom ordered my 2015 Chrysler 200 after 3 months of research.
It's black with a linen/black interior.
My friends can't believe how damn good this Chrysler looks inside and out.
Even the hard ass reviewers said the interior looks like cars costing $15K more

The sales guy Andrew Ptacek was courteous and professional during and after the sale
He followed me home to drop off my old and drove me back to the dealership to pick up the new car. Then they sent me on my way with a full tank of gas.
I felt like Andrew tried as hard as anyone could to make me a happy customer.

Aly B. | 2014-12-16

Overall this dealership is very nice with a friendly staff and a huge selection of cars. I was helped by Andrew Ptacek who was very knowledgeable about the dealership, the inventory, and cars in general. He also provided a comfortable and enjoyable experience while searching for and purchasing my new vehicle. He really wants his customers to walk away happy about their purchase and continue to feel that way. I never felt rushed or pressured into choosing a car, I felt as if I had everyone on my side to make sure I was beyond satisfied. I am very pleased with my entire experience at Midway.

Steven R. | 2014-12-14

Today I surprised my wife with a new Chrysler Town & Country thanks to Ryan in sales. My experience was great. I picked a car that was out of my price range and a little over budget, but he managed to make the deal happen and lower my payments so I didn't have to settle for a cheaper car that I wasn't going to be happy with. Ryan went out of his way to make sure the car was properly detailed and got me a big Christmas bow for the hood which gave my surprise that extra special touch. My wife was sooooooo happy. Thanks again Ryan

Cortney C. | 2014-12-11

If I could give 10 stars I would!

When I first walked into the dealership I was expecting to be dissappointed by the salesmen, but I couldn't have been any more wrong. Andrew Ptacek and Bobby Stanton treated me like family as soon as I walked in the door. At first I was indecisive and thought I could find a better deal somewhere else so I shopped around. Two weeks and a few dealerships later, I was right back with Andrew and Bobby to purchase my Jeep Rubicon. They did everything in their power to make me the happiest Jeep owner in San Diego and continue to make sure everything goes smoothly each time I return.

I will never go to another dealership while I live in San Diego, and I will recommend this dealership to everyone I know.

Brent D. | 2014-12-11

I bought a wrangler from Midway Chrysler back in March which got stolen a few weeks ago. I found myself visiting Midway Chrysler for the second time within 8 months.  My sales consultant was Derrick Watkins and couldn't have asked for a better sales consultant. I was a little indecisive at first but with the professionalism and understanding of Derrick and the whole Midway Chrysler crew it made my decision that much easier.

I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone who is in the market for a new vehicle. TWO THUMBS UP to DERRICK WATKINS and the whole Midway Chrysler family!!

Ernesto C. | 2014-12-10

After considering many Jeep dealers in San Diego, we opted for Midway & based on proximity to our home.

We got lucky.   Our salesperson was Andrew Ptacek and contrary to the aggravation & frustration that one has come to normally expect in the car sales business & transactions, Andrew has been an ace.    Super nice guy, very bright & professional ( & patient with a picky guy like me - about 3 or so visits to make this decision).   His customer service - A1A.  His follow up throughout the process - excellent.

My wife and I actually had fun shopping our new Jeep Rubicon with Andrew.

Mychael T. | 2014-12-09

Thank You Andrew Ptacek for helping me close on my first ever car! 2015 dodge challenger! Drove down from LA because I heard a lot of great things about him and sure enough they were right. He made sure that we were on the same page and that I drove off with the car that same day. The transaction was effortless and I'm VERY happy with my purchase. I'll definitely be coming back to him for future purchases

Thor A. | 2014-12-07

Great experience buy my new car and truck. I worked with internet sales on both purchases and highly recommend it to others.

Jennifer M. | 2014-12-02

Rick was the best! I shopped around for weeks. Courtesy Chevy wanted 3K more for the same car that Rick sold me! He was very nice and gave great customer service!

Seth R. | 2014-11-25

This review is about Rick D'Andrea. While truck shopping, Ram was last on my list. We walked onto the lot more curious about the brand than anything. Rick was extremely helpful, enthusiastic, and patient as we rapidly became Ram truck converts. He explained the entire line, showed us through a LOT of trucks and explained the differences, and which ones fit what we really wanted, filtering out what we didn't really need. We visited several other dealerships to comparison shop, and didn't have the same experience there. Felt some intense pressure from several dealers, even though the deals were fair. We ended up back at Midway, and Rick remembered us right away, and the experience continued to be friendly and pressure-free. We ended up with the best truck I have ever owned (2014 Ram 1500 Sport), and after quite a bit of haggling with the (also patient and friendly) sales team, we got a pretty darn amazing price. Car buying is never easy, but this was honestly the best experience I've ever had with a dealer.

Jeff M. | 2014-11-23

Bought a used Jeep this week and had an excellent experience. Derrick Watkins was a great help. He took all of the hassle out of the car buying process. I will definitely return for my next purchase.

Jackie C. | 2014-11-22

Ryan abney was the reason we purchased the jeep at midway. After some frustration with other dealers Ryan was honest, worked hard for us, and in the end came up with a great deal. Good guy go talk to him if you want a jeep for the best deal!

Eric L. | 2014-11-21

Thank you Rick &  Stan for finding the car of my dreams. You're empathy and knowledge really help me decide that this is the car for me, 2015 200 Chrysler Limited!

Jessica P. | 2014-11-21

I hate this place! Rick (the prick) is a extremely rude, sleeze ball sales guy who has been there forever and makes fake promises.  He actually made me cry.  I asked to work with the manager after that, and even he was awful! I had an appointment at 12 to pick up my brand new jeep....well they didn't get my car to me till 2:30.  What a joke! They made me still there for over 2 hours when we scheduled an appointment for noon earlier in the week.  After 45 minutes they finally pulled the car down and said "ok now we have to go wash it."  I can't believe how unprofessional this place is!

Then I got a brand new 2015 jeep and my radio doesn't work. They said nothing was wrong with it when I took it to the service deaprtment two days after purchasing the car.  Sat there for 3 hours and hassled them to get me a new radio.  Still waiting for my "postcard" in the mail telling me my new radio has arrived.

Avoid them!

Marla D. | 2014-11-20

This review is for Kevin Adams the dude that helped me convert from SUV to a minivan!?!?! We were not in a hurry to trade out our SUV and one of the things I appreciate about Kevin is his follow-through on questions we had about purchasing our new car. He was not pushy. He was informative.

Something to know about this dealership though ...parking is awful.

Tiffany F. | 2014-11-16

Love my new jeep!  Big thanks to Ryan Abney for making my experience at midway enjoyable!

M R. | 2014-11-16

Just got a fantastic deal from this dealership thanks to Stan, Derrick, and Cory.  They are  a great team there.  My sister recommended them to me; and she was right.  They will work with you to get you the best deal.  I am very pleased.

Sophia D. | 2014-11-14

We bought a Jeep Wrangler from Rick D'Andrea.  This was by far the most enjoyable car buying experience we ever had.  Rick is very knowledgable about the Jeep line and helped us select the right model.  He offered a great deal on the truck we wanted.  We would definitely buy from Rick again.

Ramon O. | 2014-11-12

If you come here make sure you don't get helped my Raymond Garcia, I cough him in several lies trying to dry out my wallet as much as possible, very dishonest person, I feel sorry for the customers that get taken for a ride by this guy.

Troy H. | 2014-11-06

Awesome service experience!  Pat has been my service rep for over 10 years.  Very satisfied!  I always look forward to seeing him.

HOWEVER, I'm having an AWFUL time with the sales team.  TERRIBLE communication, zero follow-up, and nothing but lip service since the beginning.

First of all they have no clue why my Jeep hasn't arrived from Mira Loma, CA (where it sits after coming in from Ohio via train).  Should take a day or so, I've been told, but it's been almost a week and it seems no one on the sales team cares, or has a desire to find it.  The sales guy I am working with has odd hours and doesn't communicate when he will or won't be in the office.  He says he'll follow up and call me in the morning - then I find out he doesn't even work the next day!  The sales manager hasn't returned my call, along with another sales rep who said he would "find the answer" and call "first thing" in the morning.  Nothing heard.  I have had numerous questions over the last month about my new Jeep and after-market alarms available on the sales floor - no one wants to follow up or discuss the options, after repeated attempts to ask for help.  I was told they will provide me a rental.  Nothing.  I was told Jeep would send me e-mails as my Rubicon was being produced.  Nothing.  I've asked for the final price.  Nothing.  No one wants to sit down and figure it out the final cost with the license, tax, and fees, other than an "estimate".

I'm tired of being told "we'll get back to you first thing in the morning", only to find zero follow up over the last 4-6 weeks.  I'd recommend going to Rancho.  Don't order a new vehicle from Midway!  Total crappy experience.

My 2012 Rubicon was stolen 2 months ago, and I've been paying out of my pocket for a rental since.  I just want my Jeep.  My next one will come from elsewhere!

Tyler H. | 2014-10-25

Stay away from the service department!!!

No communication, HORRIBLE workmanship, and completely disorganized. They installed new visors in my wife's jeep and left greasy fingerprints all over the new visors! And this was the 4th visit for recall work in the past few months. I would call and leave a message with NO call back. Finally had to call the general manager of the store. Then I got a call back. Paid for an oil change and the oil change light was still on... COME ON! Get your s&%t together! This kind of stuff should NOT happen.
Ive had some bad experiences with service department before but this place is by far the worst I've ever seen....

By the way, im a master motorcycle technician. I know how all this works, ive worked in dealerships my whole life.

Will NEVER return

Mariela M. | 2014-10-25

Rick helped me get a great deal on a Jeep Wrangler! Great customer service! Rick worked with us for a great price!

Candace A. | 2014-10-25

We just bought a Ram and Challenger from Andrew P. at Midway Dodge and it was the best car buying experience ever! He was so knowledgeable and easy going it made the usually torturous experience smooth and enjoyable. He answered every question we had and patently waited for us to figure out which models we wanted. Everyone there was super nice and helpful. Go to Midway and make sure to ask for Andrew.

Katie D. | 2014-10-25

I went in yesterday and was greeted by a wonderfully delightful man named Derrick!! He was an absolute delight to work with and got me an amazing deal on the exact jeep I wanted yo buy!! I am kinda a pain in the butt and ask a lot questions and he was always very polite and happy to answer them all! If you are thinking of getting a jeep go here!! Ask for Derrick and his manager Stan (the man) was great too! Customer service exceeded all expectations!!

Portia H. | 2014-10-22

Traded in my truck for a new jeep grand Cherokee a couple years back. LOVE these guys.  They're so helpful and courteous.  Rick D'Angelo was FANTASTIC. I actually came back in for the first time a few weeks ago for a brake inspection and he recognized me immediately and asked about my husband and son by name. Awesome.  The service department is on point.  My jeep is my only mode of transportation and they understand that when I come in I'm going to have to wait and they do their best to accommodate my needs. Pat is AMAZING and such a pleasure to deal with.  He's my favorite part of coming back to this dealership for service.  This group of people is fantastic.  I'll for sure come back when it's time for a new vehicle. :)

Michael C. | 2014-10-20

This is a huge shout out to Christine Baker.

I was bringing in my jeep for an electrical problem and I broke down enroute to the dealership. I actually broke down on the 8, and when I say broke down, the battery failed and so the car stopped dead center in the freeway. I was stressed and panicking.

By the time I got to the dealership I was pretty frazzled, but Christine came right to my rescue. She put me at ease and dealt with everything super quick. She even sorted out a free rental for me when I didn't have rental coverage.

I'm now sat waiting for my rental and am writing this. After coming close to crashing earlier, Christine has put everything back on track. THANK YOU.

Teresa W. | 2014-10-20

Christine Baker does an awesome job at customer service. She saved me money and got my jeep done early. I am really happy to write this review because she goes above and beyond to get the job done!
Thank you Christine- I will be back to Midway jeep because of you!

Denise O. | 2014-10-20

I recently purchased my new vehicle from Midway Jeep Chrysler. Rick D'Andrea, Marco, and Mike (finance) were all very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. They made it an easy and pleasant experience! Thanks to them I am enjoying a brand new jeep Wrangler sport. What a great team. Thank you!

My biggest issue with buying a car is being pushed into buying something I don't want all because the sales person wants to make a commission off of my sale. Just gotta say if you want some help with buying a car and having the perk of a down to earth laid back man go see Derrick Watkins he hooked it up!

Ric S. | 2014-10-16

Christine in the repair department is definitely on the customers side! She is kind, extremely helpful, and more than fair! She works with you to make sure you are way more than satisfied with their repairs. She FAR EXCEEDED every expectation of customer service I could think of. if there is anyone in San Diego, or anywhere for that matter, that I would take my jeep to, it is Christine at Midway Chrysler Dodge Jeep Eagle. Best service. Best quality. Best caring compassionate employees. And Christine tops them all!

Ibrahim N. | 2014-10-16

Im so happy with my jeep wrangler I came in to see christine in service to fix my heater she took good care of me. Even though my key was missing they really went out of there way to help me the manager bruce came out to tell me whats happening I totally understand this happens with so many keys to watch out for but they jumped into action and got me a new key. Great service guys. When I bought the jeepni was helped by ben smith and mark haffy great set of guys here....

Diana D. | 2014-10-11

Had a great experience at Midway Chrysler. No hassle, great price. Rick D'Andrea was great. He was very knowledgeable and energetic. He likes his job and you know it from the first time you meet him. We are extremely happy with the service, the financing,  and the car. Rick also took time to walk us through all of the special features and how to use all of the controls on the car. Thanks for all the help and care. We'll definitely be back for our next car purchase.

Josh A. | 2014-10-05

We purchased a car here from Albert Robinson. It was a very pleasant experience.  We bought the vehicle we wanted for less than the KBB/NADA suggested retail.  Everyone was friendly and accommodating. We received a current CarFax report with ZERO surprises.

When we told Al we were paying cash, unlike at other dealerships he took us seriously.  He wasn't the typical annoying salesman.  We were in and out is about 30 minutes.

I highly suggest Al for your next automobile purchase.  He can be reached at 619-224-4151 or arobinson@midwayjeep.com .  On a side note, we did most of the deal via text messaging which made it more convenient.

Larry A. | 2014-10-05

Well took my dodge in again, worst experience!! Cashier should be the last smile you get, or at least treat you like a person. Heard they have been sold. Figures!
I tried to talk to my service lady and she said she didn't have time? Hmm idk what's worse anymore, service or the sales. Wish my old advisor Robert was here.

C M. | 2014-10-03

Great salesman (Rick), but one of the worst car buying experiences I have ever had.  It was like 1990 style, all over again.  Constant back and forth bullshit, "managers" posted behind the mirrored glass.  The old "4 square, what do you want your payment to be...." negotiating style.  Lowball (I mean really low ball) offer on my trade in.  I felt like I was in a time warp there.  A time wasting time warp.  I did buy the truck, but they would not even loan me a crescent wrench to take my surf racks off of my trade in, and they were overly generous with the 1/4 tank of gas they gave me to get the hell off of their lot, which I am sure they wanted.  I am just bummed that Car Max did not have the car I wanted at the time.  That is how it should be done.  If you have some time to waste and like to be irritated and treated like a pawn, This is your Place!

Arvil L. | 2014-09-27

Bought a brand new jeep Cherokee from here last week. Awesome customer service! Talk to Ron Nori he can get you into a new vehicle and he's honest. He Gave me some good advice! He also called me a few days after just to say thank you and ask if I was happy with the purchase. They also worked with me on giving me time to come up with the down payment. Great place to go!

Ryan B. | 2014-09-25

Just bought a car from these guys and had such a great experience.   They truly understand financial needs and personal needs and balancing those when it comes to buying a car.

Rick was he one that helped me.  He is outstanding.  Really knows Jeeps very well and is so helpful in finding the right car.  So happy to give Rick, the dealership, and the rest of the team 5 starts.  Awesome experience :).

Thank you so much Rick !  Excited about my new car:)

Michelle B. | 2014-09-21

If you want a car dealer that spends over a month to pay off your traded vehicle resulting in you having to make payments on a vehicle you no longer own, and if you want TERRIBLE customer service and all of your phone calls and emails to be ignored.. This is the place for you. If not, DO NOT COME HERE!

Brent G. | 2014-09-15

Lied to me on the phone saying they had 3 Jeep Grand Cherokees in stock at X price and when I showed up 30 minutes later, these 3 vehicles did not exist at that price. They blamed it on a website error. Lol. Yea right. Straight Hustle. Will go elsewhere.

Ashley R. | 2014-09-14

Omg I had the best experience here today!! I don't usually write reviews, but I really love my new car and the service was awesome! I was referred to Stan from my sister in law.. She and her husband bought a truck from him a couple months ago and said they got a good deal and haven't had any problems since, so I went to check it out.

I've been between two cars for a while-- the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon & Dodge Nitro. Stan told me that the Nitros are pretty hard to come by, and when they are in, they're gone quick! So I test drove a wrangler and fell in love. Stan walked me thru the whole process. I was also pre-approved with my credit union so it made the process a little easier.

This is my first truck and I'm so happy! I think this is about my 5th car since I had a license, but my first brand new car. If you're in the market for a jeep (or Chrysler & dodge) I'd would highly recommend you go to Stan. He got the job done! I don't like to deal with car salesmen b/c I've been in sales myself, but they took care of me here. I will definitely come back!

Thanks you guys :)

I came here to purchase my 2014 Grand Cherokee a year ago after they agreed to work with the price I was looking to pay. Overall the sales process wasn't too much of a hassle, even though car-buying is always stressful. The reason why I'm giving 5 stars is their service department, especially Christine. I took my car in yesterday morning for an oil change and it turns out my car needed a tire rotation and 2 recalls to be taken care of. I only had about an hour before I had to head to work so they gave me a free rental which was included with my contract. They took me to Enterprise and was able to ride a Challenger for a day. Later in the afternoon I got a call from Christine letting me know my car was ready to pick up. My boyfriend went to pick up my car and there was no problem. When he got to my work to drop off my car I noticed they even washed the car for me! It was really dirty and was going to get a car wash soon but they even took care of that. I've had zero problems since I bought my car but they never forget to call me now and then to check up and making sure I'm satisfied with my purchase. Thanks Midway!

El M. | 2014-09-12

Wow, let me tell you. These guys do not stand behind their product. I have been a Chrysler customer for over 10 years. Recently we purchased a new vehicle from them (3 months ago). Immediately had problems with the media center on a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. Would shut down while driving for a minute or two while driving while computer rebooting or something. It finally went out completely. The response from Stan, the sales manager was, "it's new technology, sometimes it's takes a while to work the kinks out". BS dude, computers are not new technology neither is GPS, navigation, radio and climate controls in a car. All of which are out with media center down.
So then Stan says, "hey we are just a third party here, the factory built the car, not us. We can't do anything for you, call them". Again BS! He is the one who sold us the car, not the factory. I buy something at Best Buy, Target, even Amazon, my stuff messes up, guess what I don't have to go back to the manufacturer to fix and or replace it. A friend of mine had a similar issue on his new Ford Fusion that he bought at El Cajon Ford. El Cajon Ford, not only stood behind their product, they gave him full car detailing for 3 months, a full tank of gas, took off 2 payments and cut him a check for his troubles. That's a place I would buy a car from not these jokers! Get a clue Stan, your customer service is a joke. Aside from Stan, the lady behind the service counter is rude as hell too. I will definately be taking my business elsewhere from now on, stay away from Midway Chrysler Dodge Jeep & Ram, far away!!

J D. | 2014-09-12

Do NOT buy a car here. I love my car and I came to get it here because it was the closest place to my house. I found out about a different dealer not too far away,  I wish I would have gone there. They will belittle you into terms, just because I am a woman doesn't mean I don't know how to buy a car. Then call in for anything you need! never expect them to call you back. They will not.

Carlo T. | 2014-09-03

Well last year I got a car there, and yes, I got ripped off. Part of it was my fault so I decided not to give them a bad review (also, I've heard that all car salesmen are the same so I thought this was the standard). But now, not only are their salesmen selfish cretins and rip you off as much as you can; their service overall is also horrible. I've been trying to contact the finance department for a week now to get some documents I need, and they never pick up the phone. I've left voice messages and messages with the receptionist which supposedly she "hands them over personally" but no dice. I don't have time to go there to see of someone's in the mood to help me, but they left me no choice.

Also, they're car service is very low quality. I went there to get my first oil replacement. First off, super expensive (around 70 bucks). I also did tire rotation, so, second, they forgot to put the tire key back in my car; so I had to go back two days later to get it back; and last but not least, they forgot to reset the oil replacement timer; so every time I turn on my car, I get the little chyme saying that I need to replace the oil. Now I have to go back so they can reset it (which I haven't done yet).

Do yourself a favor and do not buy with these thieves, and if you do, forget about getting your car serviced there.

I recently purchased a Jeep Cherokee from Midway. From the initial phone call with Jeremy to sealing the deal with Ron Noori, I was completely satisfied with this dealership. I found the staff very knowledgeable, courteous, professional and most importantly considerate of my time. I basically gave the finance manager (Ron) my info over the phone and a few days later when I came in to test drive he had everything all set up.  This saved valuable time and once I picked out my vehicle I drove off the lot in less than two hours!! I was also pleased with how he was able to negotiate my APR to a respectable rate especially considering my not-so-perfect credit score. Most other places wouldn't give me the time of day or wanted to stick me with ridiculous rates!! I highly recommend Midway Chrysler Jeep and am very happy with my first ever NEW vehicle! :)

DJ Kia D. | 2014-08-30

Aight, this goes out to my man ALI KHSOOSI!!!
Lemme ask this, can car shopping be any easier than this? NOOO
I was looking for a limited GC. He helped me to find the exact one that I'm was looking for. More important, he got me a killer deal on this vehicle. Unbeatable compare to any other dealership. Sales people promise about number all the time but, when you actually go there all the numbers change dramatically. I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about.
This guy Ali, is very knowledgeable about all the vehicles, their options the finance options that will fit in your budget.
This was my first time getting a car loan I always bought my vehicles cash. I never liked going to a dealership and let sales man waist my time. But, guess what This guy got me approved, financed and signed all the papers in roughly 30 minutes! This changed my whole perception.
I highly recommend Ali. If you want real numbers, a good deal and someone who is caring about customers then hit him up. If not, keep on doing whatever you've been doing all this time.
Good luck to whoever is in the market of buying a car :)

Jeff G. | 2014-08-29

Overall the really pushy salesman. I did get a great deal on my car, but that was after hours of negotiation spread out over to days. We went in just to test drive the car that I had been researching online and they basically wouldn't let us leave. They pursued us all the way to our car and proceeded to try and sell us the car while we were in our car trying to leave. They do the whole good cop bad cop routine and pretend like the junior salesman is really on your side he's trying to hook you up. If you go there you can get a great deal but just stand your ground and be prepared to deal with some really committed salespeople!

Paul Z. | 2014-08-25

I've been looking on the market for quite a while now for a new ride... So many dealerships use cheesy gimmicks, or dumb tricks to get your attention, but that's not the case here.  I walked in with low expectations, but I had it from friends to ask for a guy named Josh.  I ended up finding Josh and it didn't take long for him to impress me.  It's almost as if he knew what I wanted without even asking.  Josh had me look at a Jeep Wrangler, which we ended up taking for a test drive, and I was sold.  We got back to the office and hammered out the specifics, and not even an hour later I was driving off in my brand new car.  Thank you Midway, and a huge thank you to Josh for being as helpful as could be.

Az A. | 2014-08-25

I recently purchased from this dealer and can say that these place is full of incompetent personnel. The failed to pay off my trade-in on time like they said they would. This place is badly managed.

Jim S. | 2014-08-25

Let me say that it takes a lot for me to complain and I mean a lot. It seems that the only thing Eric and Ali at Midway Jeep wanted was their commission checks. They sure did call me often until the sale closed then I never heard back from them. We had an agreement to install leather in our new Jeep and it was supposed to be two weeks tops, well try almost two months later. No one returns any calls so I am the one having to call them to find out what is going on. I still did not get an apology for the delay. Sadly for Eric my father in law wanted to buy a jeep as well and he did but it wasn't at Midway Jeep. Eric lost out on a second commission check because he didn't bother to check my messages and return my calls. It gets better, my sister also loved our new jeep and I sent her with my father in law to get it elsewhere. I should have known to expect this after all we signed a contract and I drove home only to get a call the next day that the deal fell through and that I would need to sign another contract with higher payments. They said the bank didn't approve the deal yet I had a signed contract and drove home after they made me buy insurance to cover me driving home. Eric was supposed to come in on his day off to meet me to close the deal and promised me he would be there. He never showed up and had no intentions of showing up. Ali the other so called salesperson happens to see me and comes right to me. He says don't worry about Eric he can help me. I have an MBA degree so I am somewhat educated, don't play me and think I don't know what is going on. Eric never had an intention of showing up that day. It is funny once the second contract was signed I never got another call or text returned. They got their commission they felt hey they won't see me again and if so it is not going to be anytime soon. Eric and Ali really have a lot to learn about business but then again I teach business for a living and until these salespeople are trained properly they will keep on looking for that commission check and nothing else. Eric lost two additional sales because of this but as he told me, hey sometimes you have to take the fall (his words to me when I said it is bull that I have to go back and sign the second contract because it was not approved). I suggest that anyone thinking of going here to Midway Jeep read and research first. Hopefully you won't get the 'I told you so" because you went somewhere else. I will be sure to make this experience a learning lesson with all my students.

Jen M. | 2014-08-23

These guys gave me a terrible quote. I ended up buying from Perry for over $2000 less. I don't know why Costco's program is associated with this dealer because they have bad price points and rude customer service. No thank you.

Jess E. | 2014-08-20

Despite all the one star reviews, I called to get a general quote and make an appointment to fix an electrical problem with my Wrangler. The woman on the phone was not friendly in any way but I figured, hey, maybe she's just a rotten egg and it would make more sense to go to the dealership rather than a random auto body shop since they're more accustomed to working on Jeeps.

When I asked if there were any available appointments on Saturday (because I work Monday-Friday) she said, 'Ohhhh yeah, we only have three technicians on Saturday and none of them would have time for that'. When I asked if there were appointments available so that they could make time for it, she replied, 'Yeah, none of them would want to do that." .... seriously?

So rather than giving you money for what I know is going to be an expensive electrical problem, I will take my business elsewhere! Whoever is running this place needs to have a serious chat with their employees!! The one star review trend is 100% spot on!

Michelle C. | 2014-08-20

I wish zero stars was an option.
Do NOT buy a vehicle from these ppl.  We purchased a band new Durango July 4th.  On July 24th we received a call from our finance company stating they had not received payment for the vehicle we traded in.  I called and left several voice mails and never received a call back.  Finally I called and spoke to a "manager" by the name or Marc.  He assured me he would call me back once he spoke to the finance manager.  I never received a call.  I called again 8/1, 8/3 and 8/6.  No call back.
Today is August 20th and we just received a notice from Navy Federal stating we are now delinquent on our loan for a vehicle we traded in well over 45 days ago.  So sad we have to go to the extend of contacting the Better Business Bureau and getting an attorney involvved.  BUYER BEWARE.
Wish there was a way to attach the photo of our notice received today and contract signed 7\4

Tiffany S. | 2014-08-07

Lets face it, new car shopping is never fun because car salesman can be pretty crummy to deal with.  After visiting several car dealerships I went to this place.  We were working with a decent salesman and decided to go in and crunch numbers to compare the cost to a car that we had seen at another lot.  The moment that the Manager, Stan, got into the picture everything went down hill.  Not only was he rude- he was a bully!  He uses scare tactics to try to get you to buy the car.  I repeatedly asked him to give me the bottom line price on the car and all he kept going doing was going to the back to try to change my interest rate.  We finally got fed up with his shadiness and walked out.  Total waste of time!

Justin B. | 2014-08-07

purchased my 300c here and have had nothing but good service
here. pat twist has always been very helpful in getting things
done in a timely manner & let's me know when covered by the warranty.

Grace W. | 2014-08-06

Took the car in for maintenance. Nothing major.

The appointment was scheduled for the wrong day. Ok. That I can overlook.

A few days go by. They call. The car is ready! Great!

They call later the same day. Car's not ready. Something else is wrong that we couldn't see until we got to this point. Need to wait more and tomorrow they'll tell me what MORE it's going to cost me.

The next day i get the pricetag at a hard-to-swallow $1000 for additional repairs AFTER the car was supposedly already fixed.

I call the service manager and ask/demand for calls back. He calls once, gets my voicemail, and despite REPEATED requests that he contact me again so we can speak about this unfortunate situation, he never calls again.

Fine. Fix the car.

I go to pick up the car. They drive it up and I walk up to it and place my hand on the car. Whoa. This thing is vibrating like never before! This feels NOTICEABLY weird and off. I tell this to my repair guy who dismisses me with a simple "That's normal." And sends me off the lot.

Day 1. The car doesn't feel great. The vibration is weird. It has a new bass sound in the engine. This isn't normal.

Day 2. The car hesitates before starting. The electrics continue to falter. A complaint when i first brought my car in.

Day 3. The car doesn't start. I call. I'm mad. The fact that I told them the car felt weird, and they let me drive off the lot infuriates me. The service manager tells me to stop yelling. They tow the car. They pay for ONE DAY of a rental car.

Phone call late in the day, Friday. I'm at work. Message says they have no problems. They see nothing wrong. By the time I get the message everyone who I need to talk to is off work until Monday. The rental car they are supposed to be paying for, has now been extended over the weekend, and I'm on the hook for that. Thanks, guys.

I call and beg them to try it on a cold start in the hopes that they will experience the same stall that I have been. They call on Monday....nothing wrong. Come get the car.

I don't trust them. I'm not making up the problems with my car but I have very little faith that they are the ones to fix it. I have never driven away from a repair with less confidence in my automobile than AFTER they worked on it.

Will. Not. Go. There. Again.

Walter M. | 2014-08-06

service department isn't perfect but still best of the bunch compared to other local jeep dodge dealerships.

Drew M. | 2014-08-05

This place is a JOKE!! They "supposedly" fixed my air condition problem last time which cost me about 700$ and 2 months later the same problem is occurring I take my car back up there and they said it would cost 800$ just to see what the problem is and then it will be extra for parts!
When it was the same problems as before! Which is covered under warranty!
I'm going to another auto body place and if they tell me it's what the Chrysler place fixed before I'm suing the shit out of them for my time and gas and the charge to fix it!
This place is a joke!!
Don't  ever take your car here!!!

Stephen L. | 2014-08-01

The worst service department I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. They have an online appointment system that is useless. No one ever calls back...EVER! I am trying to remedy a recall issue and they haven't contacted me even after two attempts with their online system.

David C. | 2014-07-28

Uh oh.  Recall notice in the mail for my truck.  I call the other Dodge dealer in the area and am told it will be a long wait for the part to come in and have the service done.  I mean long time.  I would be #167 on the wait list.  I call Midway Dodge.  They have the part and schedule an appointment for me the following week.  Awesome!

I show up just a few minutes past my appointment time. No line and the service writer quickly gets my information and directs me to the waiting area.  They have a free shuttle available to take you where you need to go, and Enterprise Rent-a-car is right next door as well.  Me, I don't need the ride, I'll just stay here and work.  It's only scheduled to take an hour or two for the fix.

Free coffee, tv in the lounge, free WiFi and Vipers in the showroom to look at.  This should be a short wait.  But it wasn't  My truck was not cooperating with the mechanic and fought a four hour loosing battle to give up the bad parts.

With the new parts installed, alignment done, and road tested, I was on my way.  The only way this could have been a more pleasant experience was if they had kept me more informed of what the delays were.  I had to keep searching out the service writer for updates.

Now..if I could have taken the Viper for a test drive, they would have received six stars!

John W. | 2014-07-26

My girlfriend and I recently both got into new cars at Midway.  She leased a Jeep Cherokee and I bought a Ram 1500.  Our salesman (the Fleet Manager) was Ben Smith.  Ben is very knowledgeable about both vehicles and was truly great to work with; no hard-sell tactics, not "salesy" at all, and was very responsive to our calls and texts.  Overall, as the car-buying experience goes, we both had a really good experience and thought he represented Midway well and that he paid attention to our needs / wants without trying to up-sell us on anything.  The rest of the Midway staff was very pleasant, as well.

Dick F. | 2014-07-24

Their service team is great.  My car broke down yesterday.  I called Dodge, was informed I had roadside service where they would take it to the nearest dealer, which was Midway.

They told me they wouldn't be able to even look at it until Friday, (this is Wednesday) but to go pickup a free rental car and I'll be all taken care of.

I get a call today (Thursday) saying my car is 100% ready.  Turns out it was a bad alternator, they had one in stock, and I was back on the road in less than a day.  $100 deductible covered the warranty, and I got a carwash, vacuum / quick detailing.  Not a bad deal.

They were perfect.  I couldn't have asked for a better experience.  Thank you Midway, and thank you Dodge.

Paul J. | 2014-07-20

The cars were filthy and both the inventory manager as well as the finance man is among the rudest people I have ever started to do business with. Go to Carl Burger and be treated with respect!

Krystle L. | 2014-07-19

The one star explains it all. Had way too many issues at this dealership customer service is beyond rude, including the general manager. I called to discuss an issue and he on yelp looking at my previous review. What GM is on yelp during work hours??? How about you help me and stop being nosy. They ficked up my car paint job twice and didn't fix the issue with my locks when they sold me a defective car. And failed to mention about the locks not lovking 100% of the time. And they actually will be smart asses with you and argue back. And not be proper, idgaf I will never buy from this dealership and I will MAKE SURE ALL MY

Jim M. | 2014-07-15

This was my first time using Midway Jeep and so far I'm very impressed.  I took our two jeeps in for oil changes and tire rotations with two appointments 1 @ 7:30 am & 1 @ 8:30am and both were finished before 8:30am with 5 people in front of me.  Awesome Job Midway Jeep!

Tim M. | 2014-07-14

Its been almost 3 years since I purchased from them. I think the first thing I noticed from them was their professionalism. As soon as I drove up I was treated very well. I forgot the sales persons name that helped me out but he was very helpful throughout the deal. I purchased a 2001 Dodge Dakota RT. They were able to work with the price and even agreed to putting all new tires whereas the current tires were pretty bad. They had just got the car on their lot so it still needed to be detailed, so after I purchased the car it took about 3-4 days before I could pick it up and the sales person contacted me each to day to let me know the status, so that was cool. When I came to pick it up, it looked awesome. Overall, I was treated great and got a great truck. Its an older vehicle so it has its issues but I can't say they ripped me off or got over on me. I know there are a lot of bad reviews on this site so I can't speak for those, but all I can say is that I had a trouble-free experience and I have nothing but praise for the people that helped me out.

Norma G. | 2014-07-11

Service Manager Jim Doucette:

Midway Jeep has been servicing my Jeep Liberty for the past six years.  My warranty has well expired therefore I could technically go to another mechanic for servicing.  However, what has repeatedly brought me back these past years is the stellar service provided by service manager, Jim Doucette.  Mr. Doucette is not only knowledgeable about my Jeep but takes a personal interest in providing the best maintenance/repairs at affordable prices.  It is Mr. Doucette's honesty, knowledge and reliability that keeps me coming back to Midway Jeep.  Thank you!  N. Jillian G.

Stacy S. | 2014-07-08

Brought my 07 Dodge Caliber in for service after it had been making an awful noise for a couple weeks. I was told I would need to leave my car for a couple days but I got it back the very next day. Pat was very helpful and called me twice to update me on what was wrong (needed a new alternator - he got me a good deal on a refurbished one) and to talk me through my options. Fast service and as affordable as I could have hoped considering I needed to replace something significant

David C. | 2014-07-07

I recently purchased a used 2009 audi a4 a little less than 2 months ago. Man did I make the worst decision of my life making a purchase with these guys. Everything about them is ridiculous, I can't believe they're still in business for how poorly they run everything.

First off, I got overcharged on my audi over 3,000$ of what kbb said my car is worth.
Second, My audi didnt even come with an cabin air filter, so i was breathing in unfiltered air when my ac was on, and made my ac smell like stinky feet every time i turned the ac on.
Less than 1,000 miles with my car, my Malfunction Indicator Lamp turns on, so i call the dealership to speak with Bruce Webb, but of course he's unavailable then i get transferred over to a guy by the name of Raymond who works in the service department, and he said that its the check engine light and asked if i want to come in the next morning. I ask how much and he said 110$ to just take a look at it.
I flipped out on him saying that I purchased the car less than 2 months ago so he said that he can try and ask sales if they can hook me up. No hook up happened and I told him that this is ridiculous and that it is their fault, then Raymond asks me how it is their fault(with attitude) and claimed that they sold a Brand new Jeep Wrangler and within 400 miles the transmission broke and he said that it just happens sometimes and theirs nothing they can do about it.

On top of that Rick  D' Andrea who sold me the car has no idea about anything going on. Told me to give him a call if i had any questions or concerns, but when I call him he always has no idea and just transfers me over to someone right away and that someone never can help me out.

I  hope people can read this and not make the mistake that myself and a lot of others have made. There are tons of other horrible reviews about this dealership and I wish I read them before coming to this dealership.

Renee R. | 2014-07-06

I received a notice in the mail regarding a possible defect/ recall on my 2012 Jeep and quickly looked up a service department that would help me in addressing this issue, especially since they said it had to do with the breaks. I don't mess around with cars especially when it is carrying one of my most precious pieces of cargo, my husband. we are a very busy family so between my work schedule and my husbands I need to stick to a strict schedule to get things done. The notice itself said that all I had to do was take it in and the test that needs to be done is very quick however according to the person I talked to, I actually needed drop off my vehicle for several hours. Although this would be inconveniencing, it was also understanding, so I scheduled myself an appointment two weeks out on a Saturday. I called two days before my appointment just to verify my appointment in which at that time I was first told that I did not have an appointment. I was then told not to worry about it because they haven't found anything wrong in any of the tests. Lastly, she told me not to bother with scheduling an appointment because they didn't have the necessary parts to fix it, and probably wouldn't for two months. end of conversation. No one offered to reschedule. No one apologized. No one tried to make the situation better at all. That's nice for you that two months from now works for you, but that doesn't work for me because two months from now I will be busy giving birth! I attempted to contact the manager to talk to them about the situation, however 9 days later, I have not heard anything back on them. Shame on you midway jeep for your poor service and carelessness. If you cant even provide decent customer service, there's no way I would trust you with any of my families cars. Especially knowing that they will have a new born in it.

Bojan A. | 2014-07-03

I've purchased a new Jeep Wrangler from Midway the other day.  Rafi and Mike W. helped me out.  These guys ended up beating dozen other Jeep dealership's price.  The purchase and closing experience was quick and easy - I was in&out within an hour.  Kudos for being able to view and sign all forms electronically on a table-surface PC instead of old-school paper forms.

Theresa N. | 2014-06-29

Very poorly run establishment.

I dropped my car off for an estimate on servicing repairs. When it came time to pick my car up they said they would make my keys available for late pickup and they did not, resulting in a wasted trip to retrieve my car. The following day I showed up to retrieve my car and the clerk said they would drive it right down. 20 minutes passed and still no car. After questioning the clerk I found out they had misplaced my car and could not find it. After waiting 15 more minutes I went through parking lot myself, found my car, and pointed it out to the clerks. They then admitted that they had also lost my keys. After 10 more minutes I finally had my car and keys and received no apologies from the staff.

While waiting this long time for my car, I heard a dispute between a sales representative and customer. The customer had thanked him for the test drive and stated she was going to see a few more dealerships before making a decision. The representative grew angry with her, berated her for taking such a long test drive and then continued to speak negatively towards her. She told him he was being very rude, however he continued lecturing her. That woman also left the dealership in an outrage.

Earl G. | 2014-06-29

By far the worst attempted car purchase experience I ever had.  There should be a negative star rating.

It began with a promise of deliver of a Jeep in 7 days,  in 7 days I was told that the Jeep I put a down payment on was sold to someone else.  The bait and switch began with an offer of replacing it with a Rubicon to about $5000 more.  When that was unacceptable I was told another one was found not exactly what I wanted and would take another 7 days, still holding my deposit.  4 days later I was told it was going to take longer than thought to receive it, up to 8 weeks.  I asked for my deposit back and was told it take some time.  I was forced to threaten legal action for my deposit.

I proceded to an alternate dealer and drove off the lot with what I wanted in 4 hrs.

res d. | 2014-06-19

Recently purchased a new Patriot and Robert was able to help me over the phone and once I got to their dealership. I am five months pregnant and told him what I wanted and the price I was anticipating on paying. He was not aggressive like normal sales people nor pushy. Only negative experience I had was that I test drove a dirty car because it had been sitting in another lot. When I received my jeep, the wash wasn't great and I could have done better. Although I felt I could have gotten a few hundred dollars knocked off the price, I think my overall experience was a great one.

wish i could give this place zero stars!  I've actually been a car/motorcycle salesman for 10 years and work hard to change the (sometimes rightfully so) perception of sleazy dealers but this place will continue to keep that stigma going!  Brought in a used wrangler to have a pre-purchase inspection done, was checking out new ones while we waited.  Didn't see anything that caught my eye but they offered to run a locate for me.  Actually found something that would work and we worked out a reasonable deal for the truck.  Was pretty stoked that they were making it so easy for me.    THATS WHEN THINGS WENT SIDEWAYS.

They continually tried to force me into a credit app, even though i had a pre-approval through my own credit union (i do this for a living guys, nice try).  All that I needed was a purchase and sales agreement to bring to my bank to finalize financing, bring them back a check, and they'd have the unit within a few business days.  Pretty standard.  After waiting an hour and half a mystery man came out and started showing me completely different wranglers...HUH?  I thought we had a deal worked out on a specific truck already, and NOW you want to switch me?  "Well, we sold the car that dealer wanted to trade for."  How is that MY PROBLEM?  It was suggested that I leave while they tried to figure it out and they'd call me in an hr. 2 days go by without a call back, i call in and they act like I WALKED OUT ON THE DEAL...Excuse me?   the kicker is the used wrangler i was looking at originally has been sold, leaving me without a vehicle.  I've always lived by the advice in a customer service job to "under-promise and over deliver."  Apparently they've got it backwards here, and when they screw up, somehow its your fault!

I recently purchased a new Jeep Grand Cherokee & Rafi was my sales consultant. He was very friendly, professional, knowledgeable, & went of his way to earn my business. This was my 1st time buying from a US manufacturer & from the Chrysler Jeep brand.  Rafi, the sales manager, & finance manager all made my car buying experiencing a good one.  I was recommended to this dealership by friend who also recently purchased his Dodge Ram truck from here. I'll defintely recommend others to this dealership.

Also I noticed that there was stain on the dashboard. Rafi & Jim in Service took care of it right away!  Great service!

I came to Midway Jeep thinking of buying a used car for my growing family.
i left with a brand new Grand Caravan and impressed on how Ron and the team
at Midway took care of our situation. Marcus the GSM made sure i was completely
satisfied. Nothing but good things to say about the staff!!!

Scott T. | 2014-05-11

They make no mistakes....(so they say)
I guess the only mistake made was me using them for service, and that was a big one. Unfortunately for me this is the closest Jeep Dealer to my home. I will drive clear across town before I go to Midway again. If they would had just owned up to mistakes made and said sorry but no, they tried to turn it around and make it sound as if I had taken off (for what reason) rubber stripping under the hood when I pointed it out and said its missing. Its not like it flew off on the freeway. You would have to be driving with the hood open (NOT). Also my engine cover was loose and the said that they didn't do that. That's what made me check under the hood to begin with. It was loose and banging around under the hood. Save yourself grief and try to by-pass this dealership. People say they're all the same, but lets hope not.

Absolutely unprofessional. Every 1star review seems spot on. Unethical car sales at it's worst. They tried to sell me a used jeep that was supposedly clean (carfax) well I ran my own on it and it had been in two accidents. What a horrible place to do business. Don't risk buying from this place.

Patrick N. | 2014-04-15

I come here because it's very convenient as I only live 2 miles away.
If you leave the premises after dropping your vehicle off for servicing, ****please make sure you ask the cashier if you're vehicle is ready when you return*****. Quite often, they complete the work before the estimated time frame and they only call your name once then toss your invoice in a basket where it can sit all day. Another customer and I sat for an additional 90 mins waiting until we finally got up and asked about our vehicles. UNACCEPTABLE. The cashier stated she called our names already (but we both weren't on the lot at that moment). Apparently no follow up notification or a phone call either.
This is extremely problematic not to mention horrendous customer service as everyone's time is valuable to them. ALSO....this is the only Dodge dealer I've been to where they do not have free WIFI. Considering how many customers sit there for hours it would be nice if they offered this.
Oh, but rest assured, they still gladly took my money.

Five stars hands down!!!! From sale to the closer and finance all the gentlemen who helped my were very helpful.  Kevin, Mike and Kerry you guy are awesome.  Thanks for everything

My wife has a Jeep Grand Cherokee and have brought it into the Midway Jeep in Mission Valley to have it serviced and each time the staff has been very professional. They have never tried to upsell us and usually have the vehicle back fast.

Jeep is getting 1 star because I don't know how to give them zero stars.

Just going to give the sequence of events that have led to me giving my first review:

1. Problem with jeep. Towed to midway via AAA. Note gas tank is quarter full.

2. Jeep owner was then coaxed into spending $120 extra on "additional tests and diagnostics" as the jeep service manager couldn't come to any conclusion on what the problem was, so she guessed it could be this or it could be that. Glad to hear the level of expertise at jeep is that of a giant guessing game.

3. Jeep owner was not told the vehicle  would be held overnight. Obviously that would put most people in a bind at 6pm when they get off work and have only arranged a ride to the dealership. Busch league.

4. Upon getting a call the next day the jeep was finally ready, the service manager states to the jeep owner "you need to go to a gas station right after you pick it up." Hmmm.

5. Arrived at midway jeep to pick up vehicle where I addressed the fuel issue with the manager on call. After receiving the equivalent of a "not my problem" shrug, I tried to verify that was in fact how jeep handles it. Tell someone they have no gas and leave them with a tank on red. He responded with "no that wasn't jeep, that was that person."  (Referencing his own coworker) Setting aside my blood boiling at this point, I confirmed the Deflection Game was very much in play.

In summary I expect jeep service to act like jeep employees, not careless one-off contractors.

I look forward to telling every person I know how un-American, unprofessional, and downright pathetic Jeep looked, because they allow their employees to take no ownership in their jobs.

I recently had to take my brand new Grand Cherokee in to the shop.  I had a 13' Overland and it had electrical issues coming out its ears.  The factory bought it back. During that process, the service department at Midway was nothing but helpful.  Maybe it is because I had reasonable expectations of what they could and could not do, but they really impressed me.

Anyway, I got a 14' Overland and everything was 100% better on this car.  Until I tried to use the sunroof shade.  For months, literally months (Nov to end of Jan) Midway emailed/called back and forth with 'Detroit'.  They replaced every single part in the sunroof and visor assembly, changed out control modules and computers etc.  The tech rep came and went pronouncing my vehicle 'fixed'.  It was anything but.

Long story short, finally Midways tech tried something at random and it worked!  He figured out that the factories installation instructions were missing two key steps.  Once you installed and power tested the parts, you had to 'learn' them for the start and stop points.  Two visits from a factory rep and 60+ days later my car is fixed.  I'm happy with Midway because all during that time they did their level best to keep me up to date and taken care of.

A quick shout out to Pat Twist my service adviser.  Thanks for keeping what could have snowballed something simple.

I would never recommend this dealership. My experience first with Raymond in the service department was terrible, and after that, I was passed along to his boss Bruce who never returned any voice messages I left for him. Just HORRIBLE customer service.

My Jeep needed to be fixed back in October. After being told twice that my car was finished, rearranging my schedule and my husband's (and our 1.5 year old) to pick up the Jeep on two different days, it was in fact not finished on either occasion. This was such an inconvenience to me and my husband. Raymond was apologetic and took responsibility for the mix-up, and offered me a rental car for an additional week that my car would be there, and that the rental would be paid for by Jeep. At this point, my car had already been at the dealer one week, going on two. I took him up on the offer.

After getting my car back, finally, after almost 20 days, I returned the rental only to find a $107 charge to my credit card shortly thereafter. I called Jeep to see why all charges were not covered and Raymond told me he would absolutely take care of it; it would be covered by the dealership. This was in October. A month went by and I was still not reimbursed. I called Raymond again, and - again - was told the charges would be covered; he would take care of getting in touch with Enterprise and figuring it all out. Another month went by and still nothing. This is when I began calling his boss, Bruce, and never once has he returned my phone calls.

I am so disappointed in my experience with Midway Jeep Chrysler Dodge and Ram. I only thought it was fair that after spending $1400 to fix my Jeep at their shop, and having to deal with two separate occasions where I was told my car was ready and it was not, the least they could have done was taken care of an additional $107 charge from the rental car that they promised they would.

Take your business elsewhere.

Bruce Webb, the manager of this body shop is the most unfriendly, unapologetic, unwilling to ever help a customer come up with a solution I have yet to encounter.

* I dropped my car off for service, their shuttle driver takes me to a car rental place where I proceed to rent a car.
*  I turn the car back in to Jeep, cashier accepts the keys and I leave the next day.
*  I get a call from Ole Brucey that the car is still on the lot and the car was rented from Hertz and not from Enterprise where they have a relationship.  How would I know that since the driver took me to this specific place.  So now i'm gettin charged extra, and he says "IT's your responsiblilty, it's yout fault."
He doesn't care that the driver took me to the wrong place from the start, and the cashier accepted the rental car keys and said "no problem sweety, I'll take care of it."

This guy has no concept of customer service, and I plan on letting the GM know of his rude attitude as well.

Have a nice day Brucey!

Had a bad experience after taking our Chrysler Town & Country mini-van in for a brake job but the Service Manager (Bruce Webb) stepped up to the plate and took care of everything.  Let me begin by mentioning I owned an independent auto-shop for over 20 years so I know STUFF happens.  It all began one sunny Saturday morning.   We left box-lacrosse game and began hearing a loud screeching sound at the front brakes.  We were too far away from our neighborhood dealer so we dropped in to Midway.  About an hour or so later we got a call that we need front-pads and rotors but the rear brakes were ok.  We authorized the work and picked up the van that afternoon.  So far so good.  A few weeks later, however,  a mechanic found a nail in one tire while the van was in for an oil change at another dealership.  Problem was the lug studs/nuts were so over-tight some broke off and had to be replaced.  Fast forward to the next week and we starting hearing a horrendous noise from the front while breaking.  Well, it turns out that one of the front brake pads that Midway used (non-OEM) had come apart so new pads had to be installed.  I contacted Mr. Webb and told him about the over-tightened lugs and the brake pad problems and he made sure that that both bills were refunded and we received a refund on the brake job they had performed also.  Excellent.  Mr. Webb also told me that hey had a meeting and instructed the mechanics to either hand-torque the lugs to specs or plunk the bucks down for an air-gun that has built in torque limits.  I would have given Midway another star (4-star rating) based on this experience and the fact we have taken the vehicle in other times without incident, except for the fact the Service Department used non--genuine parts without notifying me.  I understand the brake job was cheaper accordingly, but when I drive into a dealership for repairs I expect genuine/OEM parts unless I am given a choice and I then agree to use the cheaper parts.  In this case I did not find out about the non-Chrysler parts until they failed prematurely.

Let me start off by saying... I loved my sales experience! I have had terrible car buying experiences before and my husband and I were a little wary on buying again.

I have been researching the new Durango's for months. I even waited to see what the 2014 were offering.. I ended up liking the 2013 rear end better so I looked around. We started at Carl Burger and didn't have a good outcome. they didn't have what I wanted (white exterior with black interior) so they wanted me to sign a deal then come back the next day to pick it up.. sight unseen... and wanted $655 a month... NO!

So we waited a few weeks and I found one at Midway. let me tell you... we are from east county.. this is way out of our way... we drive up and are immediately greeted by Tim ( DEAL WITH TIM ) he was so nice. we have kids the same age so we hit it off talking about them.. My son was with us and he was so patient with us.

He took me to a few then found the one I saw... I fell in love.

Long story short, 4 hours later, Mike (sales manager) and Tommy (sales manager) we came to a great deal! ASK FOR THE COSTCO PRICING!!! (must provide your Costco membership)

I have sent three friends back to Tim and they have all had great experiences as well!

There was a ding on the car from the Detailer and they fixed it right away

This is for the service department. By far the worst customer service I have ever received at a Jeep dealership. I'm sitting in the lobby right now waiting for them to "open". My car was finished yesterday and no one called me until after their shuttle service had stopped. I called a few times to get the status but kept getting their voicemail. So I had to catch a ride this morning and arrived 10 min before they open. A service guy was standing around so let him know I'm here to pick up my vehicle. I get greeted with "we will be open soon". Will never get my car services here again.

T M. | 2014-02-11

I was charged over $100 for them to tell me my speed sensor was out, something I told them when I dropped my car off.  They then wanted to charge me over $400 to replace the speed sensor (a $35 part).  I checked with my local guys and they said they would do it for $140.  I was hoping it was covered under warranty, but unfortunately, no.  Well, this situation taught me again why I don't bring my car to the dealership for repair.

Lulu T. | 2014-02-04

This is an email I wrote to the GM of this place. Atrocious if I had to sum up my experience in one word:

"I cannot share with you enough how disappointing and stressful my experience with your dealership has been.  Specifically with Ben Smith.  I regret how I came to land on him as my sales associate trusting the Costco Auto Program that they only refer quality salesmen.  Besides having to deal with his predjudice remarks during the showing of cars (about Japanese customers he couldn't understand and not imagining me listening to Country music since I'm Hispanic), he also would put down the things I was looking for in a vehicle if they weren't on his lot, such as my request for a sunroof and that the vehicle be white.  And all for nothing; you had to make me wait another day for the car to be delivered from some place 50 miles away which Ben claimed to be a Poway location the next day when I received vehicle.  At that time, it was evening and he rushed showing me the specs of the car commenting that I was, "a smart girl, you'll figure it out."  I did not even test drive the car.

I started getting kicks from the vehicle two days after purchase.  Then I had two people test drive with me to make sure I wasn't just getting used to breaking the car in.  No, there is a bad problem.  Anytime I coast 10 mph or under, the car bumps as if I were pressing the gas and break over and over.  Then when I hit the gas, it bucks!  I'd imagine if any of you were having these issues, you'd be doing all you can to get a crap car like this off your hands.  I know I received a unwinded car.  I was given the car prepared with LoJack that your dealership does not install without someone having paid for it and the car was filled in the interior with dog hair and dog drool in the back.  I've taken photos of this.

I am so upset that I was taken advantage of in this manner and I will be spreading my experience via any outlet I can because my experience, after purchasing three vehicles prior to this, was absolutely on the shadiest level and having to be paired up with what, up to now, has been the snakiest salesman I've ever met.  He was kind enough to mention last night though that my particular model of car has had recalls in the past year or so, that might be why my car is giving me trouble already???

Your employees left me in the dark with many items while making this car deal.  Your sales manager, Mike, was very charasmatic when first meeting him.  I trusted him when he presented what my payment would be for the next 72 months on my Jeep.  My brother showed up to help out and he was surprised to see I wasn't provided with a breakdown or layout of what I was paying for exactly.  He told me this is pretty standard and now he was curious if they weren't marking up on the deal.  We proceded to request the breakdown and I didn't worry since Mike had already told me that the added items were already included in the price, which were the lifetime warranty and gap insurance.  He shared with us that he'd given us the same deal on the warranty he'd paid himself and that the gap insurance was at cost.  However, when he brought the breakdown to my brother, my brother questioned these prices and in his presence, Mike in one moment slashed the gap insurance from $795 to $500.  A request I'd initially made, stating I didn't want to pay more than $500 on gap insurance and Mike had dismissed that request when he told me it was at cost.  In the moment Mike lowered the price, I felt a sinking feeling.  I'd already had a less than enjoyable experience with Ben trying to find the right vehicle for me (it was like pulling teeth each time I wanted Ben to do a search on another style of car and not without him rolling his eyes) and now I was dealing with a sales manager who was not fully disclosing items on my contract.

The next morning (1/27) I woke up ready to not get the vehicle. I'd had such a bad experience that I thought I'd give a try at the more popular dealership in Rancho.  I called them to set up a time and told them what they charged for a lifetime warranty on a car and although at first they told me it varies, when I told them what I was being charged at Midway, they laughed and assured me they could come down $1000.  I took drove my mother's car to Midway and spoke with Mike again and was immediately ready to do "whatever it takes" to bring down the lifetime warranty down.  And this is where I question why it took all this stress for me when he could have made me "happy" the night before when we were asking all these questions, looking for a true deal?"

Fast forward to now, this vehicle has huge mechanical issues. They lied to me about everything, have been hugely unfair, and on stuck with this car and a bad memory of that dealer!

The other reviews on here are 100% Spot on!

We went in to midway just to LOOK at some vans. Met with one of sales floor people and he took us out for a drive in one of the used vehicles. It was actually a really nice Van and I really liked it a lot. The price though left a lot to be desired. They were charging 4-5000 more than the other dealerships in the area. He told us we could probably get it in the price range  we were looking for if we traded in our current car.

Okay, we go in and start the negotiations. We told them about 20 times that we would be financing through our own bank because we know the exact rate we would get the vehicle for, and they tried to trick us in to signing their loan application saying that the "state of California requires you to sign this". Yeah right, I might be young, but I am not stupid. Neither my husband nor I have ever had to sign a finance sheet. And this would have been the fourth vehicle we would have bought.

They wanted to give us only 12K for our trade in, saying basically that we were stupid and didn't know what our vehicle was worth and actually laughed in our faces. Right then and there we knew we couldn't trust them. Told them that we needed to go home and think it over first. Which I am glad we did. Got the carfax for the van they tried to sell us and it had an outstanding warranty fix that STILL hasn't been fixed for over 6months. When they called us back the next day asking when we wanted to come back in and re-start negotiations on the Van, my husband brought up this fact and told us that it "didn't matter because the van was still under warranty." Uh, I'm sorry, but I was going to be driving this vehicle with my small children in it and if the engine shut off (which was what needed to be fixed) while we were driving we would have been screwed.

Ended up going to South Bay VW and getting a better van with HALF the miles on it and all the options we wanted for 5000 less. Also got our car at the price that carmax valued it at, which was 18000!

Dan S. | 2014-01-14

This is for their Service Department. We made an appointment for a minor repair covered by warranty... the interior clock doesn't work.

The car was brought in on time at 9:30 am, with a written estimate of time of 2 hours and 10 minutes for the repair. Some 5 hours later and still the vehicle is not ready, and cannot be repaired.. You can't repair or replace the interior clock? Really?

The Service people claimed they had to email someone and they could get back to us whether they could repair the clock in a couple of days. To fix a clock??

Okay, so far they are unable to fix a broken clock under warranty. I did purchase the vehicle from them, so I thought they would not have any problem honoring the warranty. But my confidence in their ability to timely diagnose and fix a warranty repair is beyond damaged... I'm looking for another vehicle, and am crossing this place off the list.

I'd give negative stars if I could for my lost time resulting in no repair in sight. What a waste of my time.

I had no intention of writing a Midway review, for the record.  Sometimes you just need to vent, you know?

We're looking for a slightly used 4WD or AWD SUV, something very clean and with low mileage that we can take with us when we leave San Diego later this year and move back into a climate that receives heavy snowfall.  I like the Cadillac SRX and Mercedes GLK; husband is a Jeep Grand Cherokee fan and has his eye specifically on Overlands.  We recently visited Midway to check out a few vehicles.

Our options are limited, it turns out.  4WD is somewhat of a rare bird in the San Diego area.  Why wouldn't it be though?  Why spend the extra money for 4WD when precipitation isn't exactly a threat?  We were bummed to learn that the pretty used Overland Summit in stock was a 2WD, and, after determining that Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited just isn't all that special after test-driving the Summit, felt defeated.  We had spent about 2 hours with Adolfo, a "Sales & Leasing Consultant," and liked him.  Nice guy, full of personality, knowledgeable, clearly loves Jeeps.

We weren't so fond of "Crew Leader" Stan, however.  My guy and I work a lot and have limited free time together, so suffice it to say I don't appreciate people wasting our time.

We were on our way out, and Stan grabbed us at the door.  (Yeah, we should have just left.)  He asked about our situation, and we said we were having a tough time finding a nice used Overland with 4WD.  Stan then mentioned that Adolfo should show us a new Overland and that we should really consider leasing.  I responded that (A) we're not into new vehicles and (B) we're neither comfortable with nor interested in leasing.  I could not have been clearer or more firm about our position on leasing, I assure you.  Stan asked us to take a look at a new Overland, so we agreed to that since we were there anyway.  Upstairs Adolfo showed us a couple new Overlands that retail for around $50K and then, of course, asked us what we'd be willing to pay.  I warned that our number would be offensive, and then, when encouraged, proceeded to give him the offensive figure.  Back downstairs we went.

Long story short (yes, this is the short version), a bunch of information sharing, talking, interruptions, time, and a few bottles of water later, Stan came over and eventually told us that our figure wasn't possible unless we leased.  Actually, I interrupted his schtick and said something to the extent of "Our price isn't possible unless we lease, is that the case?"  What a shocker.

A couple miscellaneous notes:
* The elevated outdoor platform on which employees stand to better see approaching customers--we heard employees call it the "jail"--just exudes sleaziness.
* The trade-in value offered for our Cadillac CTS was astonishingly low.

If you're interested in leasing, Midway might be for you.  If not and if your experience here is anything like ours, prepare to have your time wasted...even if you insist you have no interest in leasing.

Kendrea P. | 2014-01-12

Pretty good experience here. Researched for about two months for 2013 Durango wrote down the vins from online and took in my offer. We negotiated for three days and then we got the call! Love my car love the negotiation process I'm truly happy with the service. There was a dent in the back of the car. I forgot about it until they called with a reminder (thanks) I take it in next week. I will definitely go back! The minus star was for three days of waiting lol

Dear Thomas:

Please remove me from your E mail list.    I will not be buying any cars from Midway, Ever.

I wasted half a day of my life trying to do a deal with you guys on a jeep and ended up doing it in less than an hour at Rancho.  Really liked your selection, really liked your sales guy but other than being efficient with the refund of my deposit the process was painful.   The manager seemed nice but couldn't seem to get that I was paying cash and didn't need a loan and he couldn't get that my trade-in was already sold so all they had to do is process the cars paperwork for title transfer.

Just so you know when a customer has to repeat himself and explain the deal more than a couple of times it makes you look either ignorant or doubtful that the deal presented is anything more than just a lie.    I am not sure which it was but for me there are to many options to try and work my way through a deal with you again.   I love my new Jeep and the sales guys at Rancho Jeep were much more efficient and never tried to run my credit since I was paying cash.    You tried to sell my trade in that was already sold and you would have run my credit for no reason had I not stopped you, even after explaining the deal more than three times.

Your owner has a problem, they need a better manager, that store has to much potential to have managers that are that inefficient and unable to process deals smoothly.

As I stated above, please remove me from your system, I do not want anything to do with Midway, Ever.

Good luck!

Mike B.

This place doesn't even deserve a one star, I called and made an appointment and they just blew me off. I went in on a Saturday morning and they lied about the services they had there. Will NEVER go there again!!!!

Stephen M. | 2013-11-15

Had an appointment for my 5,000 mile scheduled service including an oil change on my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited today and have nothing but nice things to say. Very nice people and was in and out within 30 minutes. Unfortunate to see so many horrible reviews on here.

David A. | 2013-10-28

HORRIBLE SERVICE EXPERIENCE.  I left my 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee for an oil change, front end alignment (due to steering right), and tire rotation. I picked up the Jeep and several days later reviewed my receipt to see what alignment adjustments had been made because the vehicle still steered slightly right.  I noted the alignment results were not attached.  I left 3 vms with Christine Baker (service rep)  and then 3 vms with with Bruce Wall (service manager) without any call being returned.  On each call, I noted the invoice number and that I was calling to request a copy of the alignment printout because it was not attached to my invoice and the Jeep was still steering right. I also noted that there was a nail in my tire (which I'd forgotten about) that was not pointed out as a result of the rotation, calling into question whether the rotation and alignment were actually accomplished.  No call was ever returned.  I noted in my last vm to Bruce that failure to return my call would result in a Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) report and Yelp review to let him know I was serious about resolving my concern.  We'll see what happens when BAR contacts them. I was a former regular service customer with them...but no more!!

Stephen B. | 2013-09-30

I have to admit, this was going to be a horrible review but they turned the experience around. My first experience with Midway was to try and set up a pre-sale inspection and they dropped the ball because the person I was dealing with on the phone was a moron. Common, no surprise.

Now I had to deal with a tail light issue at a dealership, because it went way beyond the bulb, and into the assembly and the wiring, and I happen to live in Mission Valley. Took it in, paid (under $40 too, sweet) and they said they had extensively tested it and it was good to go. Until my girlfriend was behind me one night and said uh uh. Still flames out when the headlights are on.

So, I had to take it back again on a Saturday, which I was plenty pissed about as you can imagine, because I thought it was fixed. I was also burning because I could not get to the "head of the line" in the service department on what I felt was a redo.

Then, I got so busy on Saturday that I completely forgot I had dropped the car off until well after hours. I went in on Sunday to find out why the $%^&* they did not call me, and could not get answers. I was loaded for bear at that point.

I went in ready to spill blood (verbally of course) and was met by Christine at her booth. Turns out she had an old number and neither one of us had verified my new number when I dropped it off. We will not place blame, I am sure she could see that I was not happy when dropping off so she probably wanted to get rid of me as soon as she could that Saturday.

So, I show up and quickly determined what had happened, and she told me they had fixed it and at no charge. Reading the invoice, it was probably significant because they had to get into the socket and wiring. I am pleased at how everything worked out despite the inconvenience. The way they handled me and the redo was very professional. Thank you Christine.

I drove to Midway Dodge to have a new key fob programmed for my 2006 Dodge Viper, I already have the fob (brand new) it just needs to be programmed. First  I walked into the service waiting area (where no one showed up for ten minutes), I thought 'no big deal, Ill just go cruise the show room for a minute.' I was greeted by a salesman and mentioned I was interested in looking at the new Viper (I didn't mention I already own one), he gave me the infamous "up and down" and said 'cool' and walked away! Didn't offer to show it to me or open the doors, nothing! But, again I said its cool, he probably thinks I'm just a looky loo I have tattoos on my legs so he probably assumed I just wanted to see it.

Then I walked outside and found a service supervisor looking person and asked him about programming my fob he said "that will be $50 and we wont get to it until after lunch" I thought for a second and before I could answer he sighed and said "pull the car up" I thought GREAT, he is going to take care of it. I hop in my car and pull it up, then stand there for the next 10-15 minutes with NO ONE and I mean NO ONE saying a word to me, the guy disappeared and not one person (despite there being many employees walking by) asked if I was being helped, they just let me stand next to my car like an idiot for 15 minutes.

I can take being slighted by some young kid salesman who judges a book by its cover, to my own fault I was wearing shorts a T-shirt and Chucks so I was kinda asking for it. But, seriously, dont act like your customers should walk on egg shells to get YOU to do your bloody job!!!

This actually makes me want to sell this Dodge and by something else just because of what (expletive) there employees are!!

Save yourself the hassle, and dignity. Go somewhere else.

While I wish I could give ZERO stars I had to choose a one star rating, but Midway Jeep does not even deserve that.  This is my second review of Midway because I made the mistake of giving them a second chance.  After all, I believe that we all deserve second chances, unless you're Midway Jeep.

I decided to trade in my Wrangler for a little more power.  I called and made an appointment to see what they had to offer and was told to bring my trade for evaluation.  On the day of my appointment, I walked the lot for 20 minutes and no one ever came up to me to ask if they could help.  I then went inside and told them I had an appointment to discuss trading my Wrangler in, and they said someone would be right with me.  So....40 minutes later, I decided I wasn't going to waste any more of my time waiting for my "appointment."  If Midway is doing so well that they can throw potential customers away, then they certainly don't need my business.

Went to Rancho Jeep and guess what?  I was helped within moments from my arrival and I ended up buying a new Jeep Grand Cherokee.  Rancho has great service, great sales and they are eager to assist you.

This dealership is has THE WORST SERVICE i have ever experienced.  First the receptionist acts like I interupted her day by calling. Service: First, I bought a full set of tires and when months later found out they do not repair tires.  Second, after fixing my coolant leak, a month later it was leaking again (thanks to a smog technician letting me know)  I called to get my jeep in immediately because I do not want an engine catastrophy.  It is inconvenient to find a ride and to miss work for their lack of work/repair.  I will NEVER buy another vehicle from this place.

Buyers Beware: Midway Jeep & Eagle LABOR DAY SALE!!!!!!!!!!!!

DEFECTIVE VEHICLE: 2013 NEW vehicle purchased was defective beyond repair.

Please be sure to thoroughly inspect your new vehicle B4 test driving it (also ask for vehicle to be cleaned so you can see if there are any damages to paint job). Beware of damage body, scratches on paint and/or defective external products in vehicle (stereo, vanity light, door lock, etc).

All parts of your NEW vehicle should be in working order. Do not trust any one when stating that they will repair or replace any part of your vehicle after purchase. The salesman and service advisors have poor awareness of their own products. I identified defective parts and damage to paint on my new vehicle immediately after purchase ( on 2/16/2013 ) and BEFORE driving off the lot. I was promised that the body shop would resolve paint job and that defective internal parts would be order and replaced. Paint issue never resolved and when ordered part came in, the service advisor and general manager apologized acknowledging defective part stating issue can not be resolved due to vehicle not being equipped electronically equipped part. Yet, I previously test drove the identical make/model/yr vehicles at other dealerships and no issues with parts.

Throughout this whole ordeal there was No offer to trade it in for same make/model/yr with defective free parts & paint. Now that's the level of service you don't expect to receive especially being a prior customer (I purchased a vehicle from MIDWAY in 2000 and had a good experience and reliable vehicle so I choose to return). Needless to say, the experience this time was unfair, overwhelming and my attempt to resolve the issue was overwhelming- poor attention to customer relations and devastating decline in customer satisfaction/service since prior purchase. I did even get a chance to enjoy the rush and excitement of a new purchase.  I have warned all my clients, colleagues and family NEVER EVER BUY FROM MIDWAY and will continue to spread the word publicly- online and radio.

Bottom line: Take time to read the specifications and check that all are in working order on your NEW 2013 vehicle. DO NOT ASSUME THAT ALL NEW VEHICLES ARE IN EXCELLENT condition, OPERABLE, AND DEFECTIVE-FREE. They are not and MIDWAY will NOT replace, repair or resolve issues making the vehicle as New- in the condition that it is suppose to be upon purchase.  Please note: Once you drive off the lot they will not adhere to their verbal commitment to resolve any issue or repair!

WARNING: Do not be mislead into believing your issues will be handled- scratches on car, dent, defective door locks, vanity lights etc. Have the understanding that your new vehicle is sold to you "AS-IS" so check everything out internal and external---- this is an investment and you should be 100% satisfied with your NEW vehicle purchase. . .  as you can see sales/services individuals are not aware of their own products!!!!!!!!

Advice to you: View their off site lot across the bridge- crammed vehicles, some will not start and others with body damage. TRUST YOUR GUT & Go to a different dealer!

(I'm very happy with my recent purchase at Toyota- a review will soon follow to include the names of the financial advisor and salesman who provided exceptional service.)

I rarely review but I had been looking to buy a new Jeep and happened to stop in on Midway Jeep and Chrysler after having an extremely unpleasant experience at another Jeep dealership. I am so glad I did, not only did they have an amazing selection of Grand Cherokee's but Rosalina my sales person was not only pleasant but extremely accommodating.  She was very well informed on all the models and options associated with the Grand Cherokee as well as infinitely patient, as any new car purchase can be stressful and time consuming.  Mike Wilson the sales manager was very accommodating and helpful as well.  When it came down to my new car purchase I couldn't ask for a better experience.  I would recommend Midway Jeep to anyone looking for a no hassle, non- salesey approach to buying a new car.

Vanessa S. | 2013-08-22

5000 miles on a new Dodge Durango and its already breaking down on me.  Flapping noise coming from under the car and it's losing power when I accelerate.  Christine in the service dept tells me its "user error" and that my ALREADY SECURELY FASTENED license plate is the source.  Well guess what... after leaving my car it's STILL making the noise.  I took my car to Rancho Dodge today and found out it was a bad drive shaft that could have caused a serious accident.  I would NEVER take a car back to Midway for repairs again.

Stephen L. | 2013-08-20

Worst service department ever. Brought my car in for a recall, had to wait for the part. Brought i9t back, had to wait for instructions on how to install the part. Found out there was a 2nd recall, gave my okay to repair that. After they repaired it the computer switch broke. They have had my car for a week now. Offered me a loaner car yesterday because the new part we're waiting for was a week out. Negotiated with them to not use rental, keep using alternate vehicle and they were going to fix my POS door handle that broke 3 days after the warranty expired.  The service manager, tech and I were all in agreement. They called today to say all they can do is a $50.00 discount in a $200,00 repair. I am totally disgusted with these people. Go anywhere else but here. They SUCK!

Lauren H. | 2013-08-13

When Chrysler's corporate inspector denied to repair our car after catastrophic engine failure caused by the thermostat, Joe Gardon and Bruce Webb fought for us and were able to get our engine fixed! They put an incredible amount of effort into making sure we are satisfied customers and we appreciate it greatly!

Steve B. | 2013-07-09

We had been to Midway Jeep and both my wife and I have each had separate, isolated, experiences both in sales and in service, and will not give that dealer another dime. Beware of Midway. We have 2 Jeeps (2011 and 2014) and will not go back for service or sales, period.

We bought our 2014 last night, and went through Carl Burgers. The staff was much easier to work with and they made us feel like valued customers. There were no games or BS, and i didnt have to meet 4 additional sales people/managers, as i did at Midway on Sunday. The Midway team has a lot of people, and i am sure that some are fine, but the service was nonexistent, and many of the sales people didnt know what they were talking about. When we were there earlier this week, we were driven over to their second lot, on the other side of the 8 freeway, to look at new inventory, and the sales person that drove us over was literally on his cell phone, texting and on the internet while he drove my wife and I....no joke! He also was speeding in one of their preowned Jeeps, and almost hit a cab on the way...it was a little unsettling.

More important than the dangerous driving, 2 different sales people corrected me on things that they were wrong about. I went in looking for a specific set of options, which are often found on dealer lots. These are common options that i was looking for which include: Sunroof, Nav and premium wheels on a GC Limited. I know the car that i wanted and knew that they had a number of them, in a few different colors. When i asked about where to find these on the lot, i had one guy tell me that i was wrong and that if i got a sunroof, the car would be much more money than the MSRP that i was looking for, etc.  At first i was friendly and shared that i saw a few of these on their own website, as i had also built the car on Jeep.com , which found a number of local matches. The "boss" or supervisor of my initial sales guy, again said that i was mistaken, etc. Wrong! In fact after finding one myself on their main lot, i even showed one "manager" the sticker on a car that was sitting right near us... all i heard was crickets. These guys dont know what they are doing and are a bit arrogant when it comes to selling cars. I am not a Jeep sales person buy i knew more than any of my sales people, when i was at Midway. What a joke...

I recommend Carl Burgers Jeep in La Mesa. It was further away, but worth the drive, as we were treated well, they were honest and fair, and were in and out with a new car in a few hours. Ask for Troy Baldwin if you go to Carl Burgers!

L L. | 2013-06-25

While our sales experience was great, dealing with the financial department has been a pain in my backside. Rude attitude and very negative. While they were trying to help us out by sending someone to pick up some last minute paperwork, I received attitude every phone call dealing with this.
Our salesman was great and so was the manager. They got the price and payments down to exactly where we wanted. They were great to work with and incredibly respectful.
I'm giving this a two star review because my experience with the finance department has been that bad. Makes me pretty upset that we bought our car from here as now we are stuck dealing with a rude department. My suggestion, go elsewhere for your car buying needs.

Verity C. | 2013-06-18

While the experience of buying my new car was not that bad, I even referred a friend that bought a car on the same day, the after sales customer service was less than desirable. I didn't like how my new car handled. Very low on power. I asked if there was anything they could do and they asked me to drive back to the dealership to see what they could do....basically they had me drive down so they could personally tell me there was nothing they could do without charging me a lot of money???? I mean couldn't they have told me that over the phone and saved me time and money?  Once they have your money and your trade they wash their hands of you.... A lot of lessons learnt from dealing with these people.

Sadly TRUE Customer service no longer exists. I won't be referring anyone else to this dealer.

Andy G. | 2013-06-04

Negotiation and purchase price was what can always be expected regardless of the dealership.  Never a good experience and you feel dirty afterwards.  I came out of the purchase process feeling pretty good about everything until I was handed a $30 voucher for gas at the Arco next door.  No full tank after spending almost 40K on a new car!  When I mentioned having a problem with it I was told the factory no longer reimbursed for a full tank.  So what, have some customer service as a dealer and fill it up then.

The above gets a 2 star rating but it was what happened after the purchase that makes this dealership the worst.  My current vehicle that I could not negotiate a trade in on was mistreated extremely during the delivery process back to my home.  Speaking with both the Sales Manager and GM got me nowhere.  I will never, ever go back to this dealer or recommend them to anyone I know.

Chris M. | 2013-05-28

First Id like to say Suzy is Awesome! Ray is a young salesman with a great personality! Two stars is for Lack of communication mostly from another sales person! I wanted to buy a used F150 but they would NOT Go down on the sticker price! Who pays sticker price for a used car?? I ended up going to Kearny Mesa Toyota where I got a Used Jeep patriot! Im paying $112 less a moth for a newer car that was at the same sticker price. KM Toyota knocked off 2k from the sticker price!! Not to mention when I went back for the F150 the deal was completely different from what was agreed upon via text! If you do come here expect to pay sticker price!!! But ask for Suzy and Ray (they did not have anything to do with the deal) But they are both super Awesome!!!

Taj S. | 2013-05-04

I yesterday visited Midway Chrysler Jeep and Dodge here in San Diego. After an hour or so of negotiations I thought we had come to an agreement on a price, terms and conditions. After filling out and signing all the paperwork to include the temp registration, bill of sale, privacy act statement and actual sales contract I was told to wait. After waiting another 10 min I was approached by what I'm guessing was one of the sales managers who told me that they could not honor the deal we had agreed upon and that I needed to pay an additional $1500 or so if I still wanted the vehicle. I of course told him this is no way to conduct business, asked them to void everything and left. I have been around the block a few times and own a few cars. What are they doing to younger folks who are in buying their first car?

Sonia O. | 2013-04-03

Just bought a 2013 Journey SXT last week! LOVE IT!!
Had a great experience with these guys!! Got the deal we wanted and will continue to come back!! Thank you for making our experience a good one!!

Karen B. | 2013-03-28

I recently purchased a Jeep Wrangler from Midway Jeep and I feel that I was treated very fairly and I would definitely return in the future.  In fact, my husband now wants to buy from them and we may do so, again, fairly soon.

Richelle R. | 2013-03-24

Not impressed. We bought an 08' Wrangler from them a couple of years ago. A week after my husband bought it, the entire tranny went. That was nothing but a hassle. But, it got fixed.

Fast forward, we're looking to trade in our CRV for something bigger. We really liked the Durango, and after feeling like Carl Burger's tried to take us for a ride, we figured we'd do some more research on Dodge dealerships throughout SD.

USAA, a military banking institution, has a "car buying," service. Basically you put in all your info, they hook you up with a dealer, and give you a GUARANTEED savings certificate for whatever dealership they have a deal with, which is about the same as the online sales price... you know, the one that includes all the rebates you probably aren't eligible for. Anyway, this guaranteed savings certificate only included the basic Dodge consumer cash rebate, military, and then a USAA discount. Midway was listed as a certified dealer through USAA, and they were supposed to accept the certificate.

I called and spoke to Rosalina and Mike Wilson. He said he wouldn't honor the USAA certificate because I wasn't eligible for all of the rebates. Obviously, I know this, that's why I have the USAA certificate. He REFUSED to honor it, and wanted to charge me $4k more than the car was worth, and wouldn't negotitiate any further. Even though they have the 2014 redesigned model coming out in like, three months, they apparently are doing well enough that they didn't need to make the sale.

It's all good, you guys just lost a $25,000 sale. But hey, with all your one star reviews, it doesn't look like you need the business :D

Kristen B. | 2013-03-08

Do yourself a favor and never bring your Jeep here, especially when you can do the work yourself. I ONLY brought it in because it's still under the extended warranty, but that apparently means nothing to these guys.

My Wrangler JK shimmies around 50-60mph. First they told me that it was my steering stabilizer and that I needed a new one simply because it was mounted wrong. Ridiculous, being that anyone with a brain when it comes to cars knows that it's pretty hard to mount a steering stabilizer wrong unless you mount it completely backwards. Secondly, I switched out my steering stabilizer with an aftermarket one to see if that was the problem and the shimmy was still there if not worse, so I put the stock one back on. My brakes are bad. They wanted OVER $1,000 to do my front and rear brakes, when I can go to M.I.T. Drivetrain Specialists and have it ALL done for $600.

Second problem: I called Christine to tell her that I didn't want anything done to it and that I wanted to pick it up tonight. Wasn't there, so I left a message. Two hours later I called again, no answer. 5 minutes after that I got a call back saying that I could pick it up asap, and then she literally hung up on me. Sorry I don't want your crappy service, no need to be rude about it.

Third possible problem: I got my oil changed and tires rotated, etc. Checked the wheel weights when I got it back and it doesn't even look like they rotated my tires. If they charged me the extra $60 to inspect and rotate my tires and didn't even do it, i'm going to be extremely upset. I probably can't even do anything about that, considering I didn't take pictures before I took it in and can't prove that they didn't rotate them.

Monkeys. All of them. Respect your Jeep and DON'T take it to a dealership, at least not this one.

Julie M. | 2013-03-06

I finally found a dealership that did what they said they would and they made the whole process very easy. It took less then 5 minutes to drop off my car and picking it up was even quicker.
Thank you Midway Jeep for treating my Jeep and me so well. We'll be back foresure!

Wendy Z. | 2013-02-28

I bought my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited from Midway Jeep.  Every Service Dept appointment is handled with the utmost courtesy and care by Christine Baker. I can't imagine taking my Jeep anywhere else.  Unfortunately my Jeep has been the victim of careless drivers in parking lots lately and my Jeep has been a frequent guest in the Body Shop with Suzette Berry at Midway Jeep.  Outstanding group of people that go out of their way to keep their customers happy and that's why I keep going back.  My next car will be another Jeep for sure.  Thank you Midway Jeep.

KERRY S. C. | 2013-02-21

I wish I could give these morons a minus five, heck, minus 1,000.

I purchased a Jeep Compass from them.

First, I had someone back into me at a red light.  I took the vehicle in to have it repaired.   When I got it back, someone with the dealership had scraped it by hitting a post or wall.  The rear passenger door and passenger side fender were dented and scraped down to the metal.   Were they so stupid that they thought I would not notice it?   The body shop manager denied that it happened on their property.   I had a witness that it was not damaged when I brought it in and indeed it was done while in their care.

At about 13,000 miles there started to be a vibration upon acceleration to about 35-40 miles per hour.  Also, the seat trim on the drivers side kept breaking and as a result the seat foam would collapse.   I had the vehicle in more than 9 times on these warranty issues.   I kept working with Midway Jeep and Jeep/Chrysler Corporation hoping they would honor their warranty.   Jeep/Chrysler Corporation eventually told me they were closing my case.    What?   The last thing I told their representative was, "well, I guess I will just have to have my lawyers contact your lawyers."   We filed a "lemon law" lawsuit.   A very nice settlement was finally reached which cost them much, much more than I paid for the vehicle.  I had purchased four Jeeps from 2001 to 2006, so I was very loyal to the brand.  Lets just say Midway Jeep and Jeep/Chrysler left a very bad taste in my mouth which means I will can never recommend them or do business with them again.

During this whole process I told my "expert "and "professional" mechanics at Mission Hills Automotive that I would bring the vehicle in when the lawsuit was resolved.   I did, and without any difficulty at all they diagnosed and repaired the vibration noise and I came up with a no brainer resolution the the seat problem.

Cat A. | 2013-02-09

I love Jeeps.
I love my Jeep that I bought here.
I love the $19.95 emails I get for an oil change.
I love the availability of scheduling my car in for an appointment.
I love their customer service and that they have never pressured me to get any work done here.
I love their honesty.
I love the free WiFi while I wait and that I've never had to wait too long.

For all this love is why I'm giving this 2 star average business a 5 star review.

Austin S. | 2013-02-08

What a joke... Found a brand new Ram 1500 that I liked and agreed on a price. Then they couldnt produce the truck after signing all the papers. Truck was legally mine at that point, but one lie after another and 4 days later they finally told me they sold the truck to someone else. They ended up trying to give me a stripped down basic model trick, not one with all the options I paid for. Are you kidding. Dont support this dealer they are crooks

Iain f. | 2013-02-05

Just went to see the new Dodge Dart and wasnt very pleased with the service.  Our salesman wasnt very knowledgeable about the options on the car and it was just a very pushy experience.  You just feel uncomfortable going through the motions of it all.  I felt like i had to run to get away....i actually really liked the car but the situation left me wanting to head to another dealer or another car company.

Markus K. | 2013-02-02

I want the GM to call me ASAP (I hope someone at Midway reads this): I dropped my truck there today for 12 months service which is oil change and tire rotation. When I picked up my truck, about 300 yards down the freeway on I-8W my steeling wheel got crazy. I pulled over and noticed that the bolts on my right two wheels were barely attached. 10 more yards on the freeway and those two wheels would have fallen off, making 60-70 miles an hour. I can't imagine what accident this could have caused. And, I had my 3 years old son in the truck. I am currently extremely upset.

Diego N. | 2013-01-02

I took my car to have it looked at for a routine check up.  Not only were the prices laughable, I went home and removed the part and fixed my tail light myself.  The most irritating thing is they will not stop mailing me, emailing me, calling my number with a automated message to let me know I need to follow up  check up with them.  I've asked them to stop harassing me for 6 months.  No deal.  Do NOT give them your phone number or info. if you can help it. AWFUL.

JC C. | 2012-12-30

Terrible Sales Department...Saw a car on their inventory.   Emailed my interest, they told me to come down and see it...they even gave me a contact person to ask for...when I got there the salesman walked me around and around.   Come to find out the car was sold two days earlier!  No apology at all...

Stacey S. | 2012-12-18

the worst! bought two cars had issues had to take to another dealer. nightmare.....

Audrey L. | 2012-12-08

My dad got an oild change on his charger here. the oil started leaking the next day.  had to have it towed to the dealer. i fear the engine may have been damaged. avoid avoid avoid.

Brittany N. | 2012-09-27

i just bought my jeep here in MAY 2012. and i have taken it in because of the check engine light going on 4 times  ! =[
i have another appointment tomorrow and hopefully it gets fixed. this is absolutely ridiculous to me to have this problem with in just months of getting my jeep.

Brad B. | 2012-09-17

A few years back I bought my car from a dealer down the street from these guys which has since shut down. Once that happened my service department defaulted to Midway Jeep Chrysler Dodge and Ram. I've been there ever since.

I feel like this place has a bit of a bad rep but in the same sentence don't think that they are doing 5 star work either. I dropped my ride into this place this morning sans appointment and they were still happy to help. I need an oil change and my check engine light is on but one of the service department members assured me that I have little to worry about since I am still under my warranty. Music to my ears.

In and out within a few minutes with a coffee in hand and they even offered me a ride home. I declined the ride since it was about 20 minutes away and opted for the car2go sitting outside on the curb.

We are very satisfied with Midway Jeep Chrysler of San Diego during the recent purchased of my new Jeep (7/2012). The staff was courteous; knowledgeable of their product and spent time in several test- drives. And when it came to the sale: they were upfront and expedited a cosmetic correction on the purchased vehicle. What set Midway apart from other dealerships I have experienced were their follow-up telephone calls and e-mails to ensure my satisfaction with their product they sold me.

The Salesmen there greeted my wife and I verbally and with a smile. They made us feel welcomed. Never got the feeling I was in a 'shark tank', but always felt comfortable.
About the Jeep Rubicon Unlimited: I was very surprise how well and smooth this SUV is to drive. In addition, it has so many amenities inside like most luxury vehicles. As I have learned, searching on the Internet helps a consumer become well informed, but for me seeing and experiencing the Jeep in person convinced me this was the right vehicle for my family.

Midway Jeep Chrysler of San Diego has a great reputation for a reason. I would recommend other to shop at Midway Jeep. Note: I drove approximately 30 miles to this dealership because of previous reviews I have read and glad I did!

Jeff O. | 2012-09-16

very poor customer services skills in service department. Would not honor drive train warranty.

Jacob H. | 2012-09-01

I browsed their lots for a Ram 1500 truck with a Hemi engine. I found a pretty decent model priced at $34,000. The salesman ( can't remember his name) promised he would get me out the door with that truck. I wanted to pay $22,000. I sat there for a few hours while the management went back and forth about the price. I walked out with a brand new, perfect truck for $22,900. I'll give props to the dealership that will cut $11,000 off the purchase price (with rebates) to make a sale. The finance department ran smoothly and helped me resolve payment issues promptly.

They gave me a military discount on an extended warranty and service plan, which included free oil changes for a few years. I am saving more money on oil changes with the plan, and it has an extended warranty on top of that. This dealership saved me thousands of dollars and sold me a great deal with no bad surprises. The only problem was the excessive time it took to get the right price.

William L. | 2012-08-16

I went in to buy a Patriot that i had found on their app for the iphone at $18700 and it was a bait and switch. After filling out their bullshit four square "offer" the guy came back at $21700 stating that there were discounts he could not apply, even though the ad didn't mention that. He told me that i could think what i want, but that's just how it was. So I took my $12000 down payment and 2% pre-aproved loan to Rancho of San Diego on Balboa.

Joanna H. | 2012-06-25

We came in with cash. The lady tried to say we needed to buy bc we're young and need to establish credit. NEWS FLASH we have excellent credit scores. The used car sales man and manager or more senior salesman were RUDE. Do not return calls. Have yet to get warranty info, after 2 mos. Do not fulfill promises. WOULD NEVER RETURN HERE AGAIN FOR A CAR.

NayNay J. | 2012-06-18

If you love your Jeep, DO NOT TAKE IT TO MIDWAY JEEP'S AUTO BODY REPAIR because if you think the service sucks, wait til you have your bodywork done. Don't do it!!! I experienced this wanna be 5 Star stealership's service in 2005.  Not impressed. What sucks about Yelp is that you have to give at least one star during a review even when the business doesn't deserve any stars at all. At least I know I am not the only person who things Midway Jeep sucks balls.

Michelle H. | 2012-06-09

HORRIBLE!!!!!! Took my jeep in yesterday to get "serviced" and brought up two other issues I was having with the seat belt chime and temperature fluctuating. 6.5 hrs later I'm told my my car is "PERFECT"?!?! And nothing was found wrong. Of course!!!!! And as far as the service I received a call for was a waist of time. They didn't change my oil nor rotate my tires. I don't know much about cars, but I can for sure check my own tire pressure and it'll take me no more than 5minutes. So unless you have a whole day you'd like to waste don't ever bring your car here for service. Brought this issue up to the service manager and that too was a waste of time.

Erwin S. | 2012-06-05

I received a courtesy phone call the other day regarding my ownership experience and I usually do not respond. However, due to my negative experience, I thought I'd send you (Midway Jeep) a quick note to give Midway jeep a chance to make it right.

My issues with midway jeep is in regards to your service department. I am at 29k miles and I have come in twice in an attempt to get my vehicle covered under warranty. My first was over a year ago, I came in to see if my tailgate was covered since the "stopper" malfunctions and fails to limit the range of motion of the tailgate. I came in around noon and "Christine" the service advisor tells me that everyone was at lunch. I asked her to see if it was covered and I immediately felt like I was bothering her with a petty question. She walks in the break room to ask and comes out stating that it was not covered. Without even looking at my vehicle. I brushed it off and drove away. I continued to use midway for service. A few months ago, I was getting my vehicle serviced and asked to see if my driver visor mirror cover was covered under warranty. This time I insisted on an inspection and they proceeded with taking pictures. 3 months go by and I've called 3 times expecting a response. I was told every time that Christine would call me back. No call back from midway. I call today to schedule an oil change and I am told that they are booked until the end of next week. I think that it is unacceptable to turn away customers for a simple oil change.  I believe that it is unacceptable to reject warranty issues without even looking at the vehicle.

I've owned several brand new cars in the last several years. All of which varied in makes and models. They all ranged from Toyota, Subaru, and my most recent purchase, my wife's Honda Pilot. I've had warranty issues on my past vehicles, my most recent was my wife's Honda Pilot. I brought it in to Tipton Honda of El Cajon due to a small section of the rear view mirror appeared spotted, blemished, and discolored. It was minor, but it appeared to have an obvious defect. The service advisor didn't even hesitate and ordered me a new part without question. Our mirror was replaced within 48 hours and we are very pleased with their service.

I purchased a Jeep because I have always dreamed of owning an off road vehicle. I did not realize how much of a hassle it would be to get warranties covered. I was told that I had a "bumper to bumper" warranty for 3 years or 36K miles which ever comes first. I hope that Jeep/ Chrysler/ Dodge will soon realize that customer service is a priority and start training their dealerships and service centers to treat their customers the right way.  I've switched to Rancho Jeep on Balboa Ave. San Diego. I would hope that they will treat me better than Midway.

I wanted to write a separate review for parts but yelp wouldn't allow it.  Parts department guys were very helpful when I made a purchase. Service was horrible, but parts deserves props. 4 stars for parts.

Took my 07 Jeep Wrangler there for some minor issues (recall, water pump, seatbelt) They did the first 2 and told me the seat belt doesnt chime and its normal...Mind you it used to chime (passenger side) and my manual says its suppose to. Worst service I've EVER received considering I work for a car dealership I expected more...Learned my lesson I should have YELPED this place before hand!

Mark G. | 2012-05-02

Very deceiving service employees. Also very expensive work. I had them replace a starter in a '06 Dodge Stratus and it cost me 400+$. It also took 2 days longer that expected. A starter for this vehicle costs less than 100$. They charged me 400$ for parts and labor. You do the math. Plus they were extremely rude and not helpful. I would recommend sending someone you hate to see these guys for help because they are the rudest people I have met in SD. Plus do not call them during business hours or you will be received by the possibly most rudest female on earth. The dispatch or operator that they have employed here is the worst in the business. She was not only rude but also offending and sounded like she had been subjected to torture by the hands of this evil empire.

Had my driver side window stop working due to a crack at the bottom of the window.  Had to go to a dealership to get a new one.  They had to order out to get a window on a pretty common car and it took 6 days.  They claimed it took 2 hours to take my door apart and diagnose the issue?  When I first dropped off my car they asked if they could keep it until the window came in?/?...really...sure I'll just rent another car while mine sits drivable in your lot...I have another car to drive..but regardless...NO...call me when you get this rare part in.  After getting the window fixed it didn't fit adequately and when driving you could hear this annoying buzz over 30 mph...Probably won't be my choice for any future repairs due to cost and time.

Mike R. | 2012-02-01

Every time I take my Chrysler Crossfire to these guys they return the car saying they could not find any problem.  I've needed to bring it in at least 4 times.

As soon as I drive off the lot I have the problem that caused me to bring it in, in the first place..

So far once I manage to PROVE to them that the car has symptoms...usually by insisted that the mechanic go for a ride with me...they do an decent enough job.

Seems like otherwise they just give the car a cursory look and return it. This is a waste of time for me and costs me several days of rental car that would otherwise be unnecessary.

I once brought the car in with transmission problems while it was under warranty. I told the service manager the automatic transmission won't down shift on a hill.  They gave it back to me the next day saying they couldn't reproduce the problem.  I took the mechanic for a ride and showed him first try that it won't down shift.

Chrysler then gave me an new transmission.  So I went from zero diagnosis to new transmission in 10 minutes!  That doesn't sound like very good diagnostic skills at midway.

I bought a car at the end of November 2011 with this dealer and let me just tell you their business ethics are nothing to brag about. More like I feel I should warn the next consumer about their unethical business practice. It started that out that I called prior to my husband and I going to this Dealer on and Advertised Ad they had and I called because I knew prior to going in that we did not qualify for all the rebates and I wanted to know if they could honor the price without all the rebated and I was informed they could honor the price. When I first arrived at the dealer we informed them we had our financing in order and we didn't feel like negotiating the price and wanted to see if they were still going to honor what they offered over the phone. In reality this is a much better price for them not us. That's when the haggling began - They didn't want to use our financing, they wanted to run our credit through other banks even after we told them we just wanted to go with our pre-approved lender. They informed us they could get a better rate. We decided we didn't feel we were being heard and decided to leave. Warren the sales manager called us the next day and told us if we came in they could honor the price they initially told us and use our financing. I explained to Warren that my husband would only be able to go in since I was working - Warren the sales manager said no problem have him come on in. My husband went in and while he was in financing they informed my husband that our lender had conditions on our loan that require that we buy the $1,495.00 extended warranty, otherwise the lender would not finance us. Their explanation was "The lender wants to make sure they are covered for the life of the loan on the warranty."  We were also informed we now needed an additional $800.00 down payment.  At this time my husband conference me and Warren repeated that this was all a condition of the finance company.  My husband and I thought we had no option so ok. I explained at that time that since we had to make the addition $800.00 down payment that we would need our payments to start in January.  "That won't be a problem" is what Warren said to us. Because we had to include the extended warranty at $1,495.00 our payment went up $50.00 a month more.  When I did get the extended warranty contract I saw that the contract did not extend to the end of my loan in fact the warranty was only good for an addition 30K miles.  The best part was I received my statement for my new loan 3 days after the due date in December!!! So much for "That won't be a problem", apparently it was a problem. As the finance company explained to me "They're gonna tell you whatever they need to tell you to sell you the car." So since I had the lender on the phone I asked if in fact there were any conditions on my loan for them to approve our financing. Can you imagine to my surprise how I felt when they informed me that "No, we would never request that there be an extended warranty added to your contract."  Mind you this was $1,495.00 added to my car purchase and it was done by providing me with fraudulent information just to make a sale on an extended warranty that they even misrepresented by telling us it would cover our new vehicle for the life of the loan! Gee what great business ethics are being practiced at this dealership!

I spent several weeks looking for the perfect used Infiniti G35 to buy.  I saw it pop up on Auto Trader at Midway Jeep.  I called and the salesman Patrick said it was there and I could look at it.  I went in when Patrick was on duty. We walked the lot and couldn't find it.   He said he'd talk to the GM.  He disappeared and 5 minutes later he introduced me another salesman, Manny, who was going to help me.  I guess Patrick didn't want to hassle with finding the car.  Manny was a gem and spent 15 minutes searching for this car which was in the body shop.  It took 10 days before I could test drive it!  I wanted to take the car to my mechanic and had to put a $500 deposit on my credit card.  The car checked out and I bought it that day.  I was told the credit card slip would be torn up.  Two weeks later it appeared on my credit card statement.  I called Midway and a manager said he'd take care of it.  Three days later he called to say it had been taken care of.  Three weeks later the charge was still on my credit card statement and I had to go through the hassle of disputing the charge with my bank.  Thank heavens I did not finance my car through them!

On February 24, 2011 I brought my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee into the San Diego Midway Jeep Chrysler service shop to be examined for a severe electrical issue.  At this time several electrical issues were occurring, including the following:
1) The automatic headlights stopped working
2) The windows would not roll down
3) The AC stopped working
4) The temperature gauge stopped working
5) The speedometer and fuel level gauge stopped working

The service advisor who helped me, diagnosed my car, saying the car needed a new Body Control Module, which would cost just under $1,000.  At this time I began to consider purchasing a new Jeep rather than having the repair made, as I was not sure if the value of the car justified putting this amount of money into it.  After looking at my options and discussing the repair work with the service advisor I decided to have the work done.  The service advisor promised me this repair would fix all the electrical issues with my car and he provided me with a discount, bring the total repair work to $860.95.  I believed, he was an expert on car repairs and Midway Jeep Chrysler was an expert on Jeep repairs.

After the repair was made and I received my Jeep back, the very next day all the electrical problems returned.  I drove the Jeep straight to the Midway Jeep Chrysler and immediately spoke to the service advisor.  Unfortunately, by the time I arrived at the shop, the electrical issues had disappeared.  The service advisor promised me this incident was just a "fluke" and would not happen again.  He said if for some reason the same electrical issues reappeared, I had a 12 month warranty on the work.  At that point, I felt I could not do anything but trust what he said, as he was the specialist, so I took my Jeep home.

On September 22, 2011 I was forced to bring my car back to the Jeep dealership as all the same electrical issues resurfaced permanently.  At this time, I am living in San Francisco and unable to bring the vehicle back to the Midway dealer.  Therefore, I brought the car to the Putnam Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Burlingame.  The Putnam dealer told me the work was under warranty, as it had been less than 12 months since the initial repair, and therefore, I would not have to pay for the work.  The Putnam dealer replaced the BCM and I received the car back.  A week later all the electrical issues came back again.  This is the third time all the same electrical issues have resurfaced since the initial repair.  On September 27, 2011, I took the car back to the Putnam dealer and told them to test drive the car before they returned it to me.  They replaced the BCM again and after test driving it, discovered the electrical issues reoccurred.  This went on 5 more times.  Putnam ended up replacing the BCM 5 more times saying they kept receiving defective BCMs.  After several BCM replacements, the Putnam dealer had their electrical engineer look at the car.  The engineer determined that the BCM did not need to be replaced.  Rather, the defective part was the Powertrain Control Module.  Therefore, the car was initially misdiagnosed.

After learning this fact, I immediately called Midway and left a message for Bruce Web, the service manager.  It took me 3 messages to finally receive a call back days later.  When I spoke to Bruce and explained to him the situation, he said he needed to do his own research on this repair and get back to me.  I told him that I understood his need to discuss these events with his colleagues and that I would wait to hear back.  I did not receive a call back from Bruce so I left him numerous voicemails, which I have still yet to hear back from.  On Monday, November 13, 2011, I spoke to the service technician at the Putnam dealer and he informed me that he spoke with, Ken Gardon, the general manager, about this repair.  He mentioned that Ken was not going to authorize Midway to pay for the PCM replacement in my vehicle.

When I initially authorized Midway to replace the BCM, I trusted the service manager when he promised me the replacement work would fix all the electrical issues.  Secondly, I trusted him when he said the reoccurrence of the electrical issues post the repair work was a fluke and would not happen again.  Thirdly, I had the work completed under the agreement the work was warrantied for 12 months.  Lastly, I agreed to have the electrical issues repaired for $860.95.

I have spent over a month leaving messages for Bruce and Ken regarding this repair and meanwhile my car has been at the Putnam dealer for about 2 months.  Midway Jeep Chrysler misdiagnosed my vehicle.  Midway Jeep Chrysler has acted in an unethical manner about this repair.  They have still not stepped up to the plate and taken responsibility for their faults.  To this day, I am STILL waiting to hear back from Ken Gardon about this repair.

You decide if you want to be treated the same way as I have been treated.

Matt G. | 2011-11-09

I had my '11 Jeep Grand Cherokee towed in because an electrical problem prevented it from starting.  After I was notified that my car was ready I picked it up, the panels on the center console were not installed correctly resulting in poor fit.  The key less entry no longer worked and one of the accessory doors didn't open any more.

I can understand making mistakes however clearly nobody checked the quality of the repair prior to pickup.

Charlie G. | 2011-11-09

I have to say, I've been looking for the time these guys screw me because you always think car dealers will do that... I had a few issues, but they seem to keep giving me service to make up for it. I just bought a 2011 used Jeep Cherokee and I'm really happy. It's used and I went in to talk with the service department and they seemed smart and willing to help with anything down the road. One lady at my work said she took her 96 Jeep there for years and was always very satisfied.
I might change this review in the future, but right now they gave me the deal I wanted on the car and seem to have a good service department and I love the Jeep.

Kevin W. | 2011-11-04

This review is for the Parts Department only...

These guys are nice, helpful and the prices are very reasonable for a dealership. It's the only place I go for factory Mopar parts.  Manny is awesome!  Keep it up guys, and thanks for not gouging me on my factory parts.

J. M. | 2011-10-31

I had a very positive experience here this weekend. Charlie and Fernando did a great job finding me the perfect ride and went out of their way to make sure I had a good experience. I can honestly say that my wife and were never made to feel uncomfortable with sales tactics or pushy salespeople. We felt like we were a priority but not ever whelmed. Charlie even called me today to make sure I was still happy. The Jeep only had 1/4 tank of gas but it was clean and ready to go. I would recommend Charlie, Fernando and Midway jeep in general any day.

Danielle F. | 2011-10-29

Horrible customer service and should have read the reviews before coming here. People, please look elsewhere to avoid the aggravation you'll receive from this wretched place.

Robyn G. | 2011-10-18

I'm surprised at all the negative reviews here because I'm pretty impressed with Midway's service.

I took my '07 Wrangler in for an oil change and tire rotation last week. I had made an appointment earlier in the week, but when I arrived my name wasn't on the day's schedule. However, they took care of me right away.

The two gentlemen I dealt with were extremely friendly, they kept coming in to the waiting are to give me an update on the progress and how much longer I'd be waiting.  The service guys even put the soft top back on for me because I had a little trouble the last time I did it, and it had an air leak.

I was also impressed that no one tried to convince me that I need some other repair. As a female, I'm often told, "Oh, you need to take care of this widget right now, too." The folks at Midway did just what I asked for, and I was never pressured to pay more for additional "necessary" services.

I was amazed at the price as well. I just moved to California, and I expected to pay through the roof, however it was extremely reasonable.  I'll definitely continue using Midway for my Jeep's maintenance.

I have nothing but good to say about this dealership. I walked in looking for a Ram Truck and got the full tour of the facility as we went through the vehicles on the lot. They do parts and service along with body work.
I ended up buying a new Ram Truck last week and the process was very easy. The sales agents and financing was a breeze to go through and I never felt rushed.
I left my old truck there for some repairs and got it back today. Everything was perfect and I couldn't be happier with their service and my new truck.

Thanks Midway!

Update: Since purchasing a new Ram truck from them in October I have received a free oil change certificate (which I just used) and a birthday card. This dealership wants to work with it's customers. The service with a free oil change was very painless. Set an appointment, drop off truck and they gave me a ride to work. I got a ride back from a work partner and the truck had been washed inside and out! Nice touch!

I would never purchase another Jeep vehicle and especially not from Midway Jeep!  Our 2007 Jeep Wrangler which is not even paid off needs a new engine!  We are barely 200 miles over the so-called warranty and they refuse to fix it!  So much for good customer service!

Farrah P. | 2011-08-31

Was 100% ready to buy a new Jeep Grand Cherokee and this was the closest dealership to my home.  Filled out a form online to deal with the online sales manager of several Jeep dealers in the area and was referred to Jeff Henderson at Midway Jeep Chrysler.  All 3 other online managers emailed back and answered all of my questions via email.  Jeff emailed me 4 times - every time sending a generic email  telling me to come in and test drive a car or saying "I sent you pricing and info on the car you wanted, let me know when you want to see it."  He NEVER sent me info on any cars, nor prices, nor stock, nor photos.  He called me and left me two voicemail messages with generic info telling me to call him.  If I wanted to call and haggle the regular way I would have just gone to the dealership.  I have purchased cars before online, always dealing with online managers and it is the fastest, easiest way to buy a car.  I didn't want to talk on the phone, I wanted valid specific information emailed to me....which I never got from Jeff.  All other dealers did email me and one of those ended up getting my business.

I would have left well enough alone except that Jeff sent me a follow up message - as did a couple other dealers - where I notified him that I purchased from another dealer because I never got the info I was looking for from him.  Mind you, the other dealers were very polite and thanked me for considering their dealerships.  NOT Jeff!  He emailed back accusing me of never returning his phone calls.  When I told him, I just thought he would want to know why he didn't get my business, he wrote back "Goodbye" on email (of course now, he responded directly and specifically).

Do yourself a favor, don't buy a car from this dealership.  If Jeff is any representation of the caliber of "professionals" they have working there, then it is no surprise that they rank poorly on yelp and are losing business to other respectful, efficient and polite Jeep dealers.

First off, let me start by saying Ben in sales is fantastic, it's a shame he works for that dealership.

So between Jan-June 2010 we bought three cars from Midway, a 08 Grand Cherokee, 07 Wrangler and a 06 Chevy Truck......sales was a bit pushy but I've bought cars from other dealerships and they all have the same practices along with their finance people. Present offer, client denies, go back into office to talk about boats and hoes and eat a donut then come back out and pretend you just talked to the bank and they said they can now do this.

My girlfriend is very happy with her Wrangler (other than it keeps getting broken into), my friend has had her share of problems with her Chevy (A/C never worked after a few days of owning vehicle and they refuse to identify/fix the problem) and I'm relatively happy with my Cherokee except that the brakes started to fail not too long after I purchased the vehicle and I'm afraid to take it in to them to look at because I might have to give up a nut and my unborn child to get it fixed. Maybe I'll just take it to Midas.

Ahhh, my never ending battle with Jeep finally concluded in Feb.

I bought a Jeep Liberty from Midway. The price was good and it was still under warranty. I signed the papers thinking "wow what a good deal!"

I got in the Liberty and looked around. I've bought other new to me cars and the inside was always detailed and the gas tank filled prior to me taking it home - not at Midway! I barely had enough gas to make it home.

As I was driving home from the dealership and the freaking driver's side window breaks - of course its raining to add to my drama.

Once I got home I called Midway, they tell me bring it the next day and they'll fix it. It was fixed within a normal amount of time. A month later the same freaking window breaks again thus starting my never ending battle.

The damn window broke a total of 6 times within 6 months. At one point I was bringing it in every other weekend because that damn window kept breaking.

After I reached my boiling point with this piece of crap car I filed a Lemon Law Claim.

A month after filing my claim I finally got rid of that freaking Lemon Midway sold me! I got all my money back - down payment, every payment made to the bank, and got my loan paid off.

Be careful buying anything from them!

Barry S. | 2011-08-03

Unfortunately, had a very lousy experience with this dealership and wouldn't ever recommend them.  Had to get a replacement key made and was charged $400.  A few weeks later the key fab still wouldn't unlock the car doors and they wanted to charge again for this!

Beware as they send mailers out for cheap oil changes to bait you in

We had a great experience with Midway Jeep purchasing a used VW Jetta on their lot.  We found the car on Auto Trader and called Warren, the sales manager to make sure the car was still there since we were driving in from Riverside.  We have bought a lot of cars from dealerships over the years and I can tell you this was the most refreshing experience where we felt they all valued our time.  Granted, we knew what we wanted, knew what we were putting down, knew we had excellent credit so that our financing would not be a problem.  They even beat our Credit Union's loan rates, so we went with their financing.  Warren came in on his day off to meet with us, Kevin was our Sales guy and Kerry (spelling?) was our finance guy.  All 3 showed professional, friendly service.  We were out of there in under an hour.  5 Stars from us!  Thanks guys!

liz r. | 2011-07-29

Midway Jeep is the only place I will ever buy a car!  They have a great selection. The owners are straight up!  They made me feel comfortable and didn't pressure me into anything! Their finance manager Renee is awesome!

Hilary H. | 2011-07-27

HORRIBLE SERVICE DEPARTMENT!!  This is the first time I have written a review about anything, but my experience with their service department has been so bad and I am so pissed off that I had to let people know.  I brought my Jeep in there numerous times only because every time I brought it in they messed something up and I had to continue to bring it back because they caused another problem from the previous visit.  I brought my Jeep in 3 different times to have the AC fixed and paid every time for nothing.  It wasn't until the 3rd visit and $2K later that they found the problem.  Once they did "fix" the problem, my check engine light went on so I brought it back in a 4th time for them to tell me nothing was wrong.  The check engine light came on again so I decided to take my car somewhere else only to find out the Jeep mechanics installed a part upside down.  Now it is 3 weeks later and the Service Manager won't call me back to reimburse me and he conveniently only works M-F until 3pm so no angry customers can come in and talk to him.  What kind of manager won't apologize for their service teams mistake or return a phone call to a long time customer?  DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE.  WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!

I  am a Jeep Girl. I have an old beat up 1992 Cherokee and a 2006 Liberty. I brought them both in for service and despite extensive maintenance and repairs necessary, had a wonderful experience with Christine. I am not a friend of hers, I do not own stock in the company, and I am unbiased in this review. I only say that because I was shocked at the previous reviews.  I was treated with respect, consideration, and given honest evaluation of services needed........seriously and truthfully. Christine took care of me and made me feel as if she was really working in my best interest.

I bought my Liberty from Midway back in 2005 ( when the 2006's came out) and was happy with the interaction. I never have a problem using the shuttle and despite the delay in completion time, have no negative comments at all. I am not comparing Midway to other dealerships, simply telling my experience as I see it.

This is one of my first Yelp reviews even though I read them all the time. Yelp Rocks especially when we are honest about our views.

I and a young friend of mine went to buy the 2011 Jeep Patriot Sport on May 28,'11 that is advertised every week for $13,911 noting that there are always" 5 at this offer" Well when the Piranhas' in the showroom saw a old man (me) with a cane and a young lady they almost slipped and fell in their own drool. Forget the $ 13,911 advertised price. We did not qualify because due to the fine print i did not have 3 arms, was not a native of Nepal, and my name did not start with initials of ZZBBK ! Instead the young rep shoved us into a 2 year Laredo with 69,000 miles on it for sale at $16,000.00 !
We declined his best offer and his boss "Warren" ran out onto the lot and ambushed us with "what do we have to do to put you in this car"?
We declined and then his boss came onto the lot and we were surrounded by 3 bodies demanding we sign a note for 7 years !!
I thought these practices went out with the 60's and expected to be treated with respect not some dumb rube who will sign anything.
Do NOT even THINK of stepping foot on this car lot.
Abandon all hope if you visit this miserable excuse for a customer oriented business.
    You have been warned !

First I will never return to this jeep dealership, under any circumstance.
I brought my jeep in due to a window lift plate issue, which has been recognized and recalled by jeep. The service was sketchy. I was on crutches and told there was no shuttle that day (that it was a convenience not a mandatory service) and that I could walk to the mall to kill time (while I was on crutches). I took a cab home, and was called later that day to pick the car up in an hour. Which I did. I was so frustrated I drove home without checking the window. Upon checking the window is making worse noise and couldn't move. AWESOME.

Due to personal scheduling conflict I could not bring the car back in for two weeks. When I checked the car in the service attendant gave me a hard time for waiting so long to bring it back and told me I would have to pay for the problem. As I was rolling down the window what looked like a metal worm came out of the window. The service gentleman got real huffy and made me turn the car off. Let me tell you this is where things spiraled downwards. He told me that even though the parts were connected it was my responsibility. I asked why they hadn't seen this problem when he worked on the car two weeks ago and he said he was only working on the warranty issue.

When I had made my appointment I asked if the shuttle could drop me off at work in La Jolla. 1 mile over their 10 mile shuttle limit. The gentlemen said no problem. When I told the service attendant I needed a shuttle ride he laughed at me and told me no. When he asked me who told me they would do that and I didn't know things began to escalate. Telling me I was lying and no one would promise me that ride.  At 7 in the morning I had a older gentleman yelling at me pointing his finger in my face saying, "you act like you are entitled, like you have a history here, you don't". Over a shuttle ride. Actually I did have a history-you f'd my car up once already. I told him to stop and that I wasn't having a conversation like that.

I have never been treated so poorly. I may be a girl and blonde but this was total b.s. I work in customer service and would never speak or raise my voice in that manner. Besides the fact that they are providing a service, which I was paying for. I drove a volkswagen for 11 years, and this would have never happened there.

I later contacted jeep corporate to intervene. I also had my boyfriend pick up my car because there is no way I will set foot on that lot.

We also found missing bolts left in the car and now my back window is not working as well. I will be going to a different Jeep dealership, with out question.

I would never recommend for anyone, even my worst enemy to go here.

Kevin C. | 2011-06-03

I have used Midway jeep a couple of times and like every dealership all they want to do is rip you off! I went a couple of weeks ago to get a new window motor for my rear window and a set of tires! The window was a recall! They told me there was no record of the recall and charged me for a new motor before asking me if it was all right! When it came to the tires they told me a week and that I would have to keep my jeep there plus over a $1000.00 not including a rental car! I said no and went somewhere else for the tires! Do not go here unless your stupid or really rich!

John M. | 2011-05-27

I have purchased both a brand new 2006 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited from Midway and also have visited the parts department on a semi-regular basis since 2005.  When I purchased my Jeep from Midway, I felt as if I did fairly well on price because at the time of my purchase in 2006 they took $5000 off the top of MSRP even before negotiations began.  That was a good start.

I still paid too much for my Jeep because it was brand new.  Anybody that tells you that they walked out of any new car dealership boasting that they got a screaming deal is probably stretching the truth, in my humble opinion.

I have been none too pleased with the after sale customer service at Midway, period.  Today, I went to the parts department as I have done several times previously and like clockwork, I got the " I DON'T REALLY CARE" attitude.  Long story short, I asked for a refund of my money on the parts that I had just purchased minutes before.

Afterward, I drove to Carl Burger Jeep in La Mesa and purchased what I needed, at the very least, they seemed happy to get my business.

Midway is not the worst Jeep dealership in the USA, but it certainly is not the best either.  I can take it or leave it...

Outstanding service, follow up and friendly attitude. As someone new to San Diego I was amazed how I was treated as if I had been a valued life long customer. As such I am now.
Thank You

Horrible horrible horrible, this is pretty much all I can say about this place. First, whatever you do, DO NOT DEAL WITH CHRISTINE! She's the rudest person ever and provides horrible service. They take forever, don't communicate with you, and on top of that they really have no idea what they're doing. I'm not a mechanic and I basically had to explain to them that their diagnosis was BS. I had a problem with my A/C and they tried to tell me that my fluids were just low. Really? So my a/c blows hot on the bottom but cool on the top and my coolants are low?

The finance department is also rude, and they lie...when I first bought my car they agreed to certain terms and then I got a bill for the overmilege of my lease. When I called to protest it and say that it was factored in when i purchased it, they basically called me a liar and said tough luck

After two local mechanics could not tell me why my Sebring kept breaking down, I finally bucked up and took it to an authorized Chrysler service center who figured out the problem in about an hour:  the crank sensor.  Friendly, fixed the same day.  Washed my dirty car down for me and gave me a cold bottle of water.  Can't really complain now, can I?

Recommendation - really do your homework or you will be taken advantage of by their sales department.
Disclaimer - part of this review's rating is based on product quality.

My wife and I purchased a 2006 Chrysler T&C Touring here in October 2009 with about 68k miles on it for $13,200 cash (about book value for retail, $14,600 after taxes and fees).  We drove it until December when the engine started knocking; she took it to a mechanic who said dump it before your engine seizes.  Turns out the oil pump had locked up and it was running dry without any warning lights or other problem indicators despite proper maintenance.  This was at about 89,000 miles.

She took it back to Midway for trade in figuring as a return customer she'd get the best deal there.  Now she's not the most savvy negotiator and they convinced her that they had to undervalue her trade in to get her the best price.  This means the vehicle they sold us in late 2009 that we paid $14,600 for they now gave us only $6,500 in trade in.  She walked out with a 2007 T&C LX with 42,800 miles and financing for $7,700.  She said the sales people were really friendly and nice!  I have no doubt they were.

We've had the second minivan we've purchased there for almost 3 months now and have been experiencing transmission problems since the beginning of the second month of ownership - just 1k miles after purchasing.  We became afraid to drive it anywhere because the 3 month, 3,000 mile warranty only has about 200 miles and 2 weeks left.  Now on it's 4th trip to the service department for automatic transmission problems (heavy clunking and hesitation when shifting) it has to go back again.  These mechanical failings have been verified by their mechanics and already "repaired" once (trip # 3).

We have been taking the vehicle to Midway's service department for warranty repairs.  My wife is very pleased so far with their customer service and warranty coverage except for an occasional long wait for rental coverage of about 3 hours.  Also of note, the 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan they obtained for our loaner (service trip #4,) through Enterprise, while better in handling, gas mileage, acceleration, seat comfort, and interior features is also displaying the same transmission hesitation as our 2007 Chrysler (same manufacturer).

We talked to Midway about buy-back, offering to buy something else off the lot that's more reliable, and they offered us $8,600 for trade in instead.  That's a lot of nerve.  Keep in mind we had to finance $7,700 because they only gave us less than half what we paid them a year earlier for our trade in.  I told them no way and after some calm but firm negotiations came up with $10,000 - best offer.  So essentially they took $13,200 from us and just over a year later offered us $2,300 back.  They wanted to know what was wrong with their offer and what would it take to close the deal.  I told them buy-back or at least give us what we paid for it and we'll eat the taxes and fees.  They weren't interested in that.

Nice and friendly indeed.  We're currently pursuing arbitration through Lemon Law related statutes pertaining to used cars still under warranty.  My advice?  First, do your homework.  I've included a few links below to research and consumer advocacy sites.  Second, don't give in to impulse and high pressure sales pitches - avoid our mistake and save yourself thousands.  Lastly, stay away from someplace that will take advantage of you however they can, and stay away from Chrysler products - they're unreliable.  One bad apple may not spoilt the bunch, but 3 strikes in a row (sorry for the mixed metaphor) and they're out.

Arguably the least biased website to find help at - the Federal Trade Commissions website:

CARFAX?  AutoCheck?  I recommend first checking out The National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS) or at least do a google search for "vehicle history report"

The National Association of Consumer Advocates (NACA) "is a non-profit association of attorneys and consumer advocates committed to representing customers' interests":

Consumer Reports has some good information for free, and more if you subscribe:

Allpar disagrees, go here to see why:

I like Consumer Guide Auto, now part of How Stuff Works (formerly auto.consumerguide.com ).  They have a nice breakdown of changes from year to year, though website revisions took away some of their nice summary page features:

California's Attorney General's Office and Lemon Law: ag.ca.gov/consumers/gene…

Hope this helps some of you out, and good luck car hunting!

HORRIBLE CAR SALESPEOPLE. I called them up wanting a specific car which they had, I wasnt able to com in until the next day and they wanted me to put a deposit on the car to take it off sale I spoke with the Sales Manager he said that wasnt necessary and the car would be there.  I was running late the next day and called to let them know, spoke with Jeff who I had been working with and he never mentioned the car was sold. Drove down and then he told me and try to show me the car that I had told him I did not want and was scratched. Throughout the process he seemed more interested in the sale and not making the customer happy telling me that the bank wouldnt finance or work with me on things which turned out to be a LIE because I got a lower interest rate when I want to a different dealership.

Alyssa P. | 2011-01-24

I recently just bough my husband a pickup as a surprise gift when he comes home from his latest deployment and these guys helped me out SO MUCH! The customer service I recieved was awesome! If I still live in san diego when I go to get a new car I am definatley going to go back! I had problems with my bank the finance department went out of their way to helped me, I had a small problem with the truck fixed in a very timely manner no questions asked and no cost, I just had a fantastic time buying this pickup honestly and I absolutley loath car salesmen. They were so nice professional not pushy and listened to what I wanted! It was fantastic! I really could not rave more about them and I will be recommending all my friends to buy cars from them. I actually left the dealership feeling good about everything, it was a really nice change!

Deanna M. | 2011-01-15

Customer Service here is right on key! I have to mention Jose Beltran, Fernando Vidana, and Mike Stufano. Jose was my sales dealer and went above and beyond for me. He is very friendly and understanding of what I was looking for in a car. He was not pushy at all...that's a huge plus! Now, Feranado was also very friendly and willing to work with me on getting the loan through. He always made me feel comfortable knowing that they could work on my situation. Mike in finance is very easy going with no attitude, unike most other finance dealerships. He made me feel like I was talking to a friend! Midway Jeep is by far the best experience I have ever had purchaseing a car. Thank you guys for all your hard work and great customer service.

Josh P. | 2010-12-23

TERRIBLE! I purchased a used vehicle from them because they stated it had a lifetime warranty. I paid for it and then 2 days later it started to have issues with the 4wd low. I was going to bring the car into be worked on and I received a call from the financing manager "that the car didn't qualify for the lifetime warranty any longer". I brought the car in and demanded to unwind the deal or to give me the 100K 8 year deal for free and they refused. Horrible customer service and I wouldn't recommend for anyone to buy a car from this dealer!!!

Gabriel D. | 2010-12-14

I cannot believe this business is a sanctioned dealership after what I went thru. The salespeople have no care for customers. They tried to sell me a convertible in which the top would not fully work. I gave them the option to give me a discounted warranty or something to cover for the top being defective if I bought the car. All they said is 500 off sticker and that I had the "maxcare warranty for 3 months" and I asked, does it cover the convertible top for at least that time and he said no. I simply walked out. AVOID this place

Craig H. | 2010-12-14

unprofessional, they tried to sell me a convertible in which the top did not work and to top it off they insulted my intelligence by saying the "maxcare warranty" that only lasted for 3 months was enough to cover all my problems for the life of the vehicle.

Scott S. | 2010-10-30

Had a horrible experience there. Waited at least six hours for the car to finally get the car. Salesman was working other deals instead of making sure mine was done.
We took the car to get a call back two days later to restructure the deal. I refused.
Then to get my money back, I was told it would be a three days to get my money back.
The only positive thing was the finance guy, Mike who was understanding to our situation and agreed that it should have been handled better from the sales side.
Check other places first, make this your last resort even after checking out dealerships in LA.

I have to say that I was blown away when I stopped in Friday to get help with my door handle after some jack ass tried breaking into my Wrangler. Anyways, I was pleasantly surprised when I took my jeep into the repair department, they fix my door handle for me at NO COST!!! I left not paying a dime! WOW!
Later that afternoon, I was cleaning my car only to the realize that the door handle wasn't working at all. So I drove back down to see if they could help me out and I was pleasantly surprised when the lady in repairs said she would only charge me for the part and not the labor!
By this time my Jeep had spent about an hour with the mechanic!
All I can say is 'Thank you' and I will be back!

This 5 Star Rating was earned by 1 person at Midway Chysler/Jeep. Christine in service has been working with me for the past three years. I have had my 2006 Chrysler 300c serviced here many times, and after 66000 miles, needed to replace some major parts. Christine has routinely gone above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that my car, and I,  are well taken care of... She keeps me posted on the progress of my vehicle if it needs to be there for any extended periods of time, she works closely with me to determine whether any of my service needs are covered by my extended warranty and she consistently meets her quoted times and prices for service and repairs. I have worked in the automotive industry and tend to be a "difficult" customer when it comes to my needs and expectations. Christine not only puts up with me, but manages to meet, and beat, my expectations nearly every time. If you own a Chrysler or Jeep in San Diego County... go see Christine in Service at Midway.

Paging customer service... Oh wait, THERE IS NONE!  After purchasing a vehicle from this dealership (mistake #1), I was told that I would need to return for the floor mats (apparently their employess steel them from the cars, as do they the knobs on the dashboards).  After more phone calls than a drunk-dialer on a Friday night, I'm still empty.  FINALLY, after three weeks, I just show up in person, and wait in the lobby for the manager to personally bring them out.  FINALLY!  I can't even imagine what the service department would be like here.  Ugh.

Winston F. | 2010-04-03

This is a review of their service dept. They wanted $995.00 for the 30,000 mile service on my 2007 Dodge Ram 1500!!! The vehicle is 2 years old with 30,000 miles, what needs to be done with it that cost almost a thousand dollars? Be careful - they'll recommend all sorts of unnecessary services to separate you from your money. I went to another Chrysler dealer and they charged me a more manageable $309.00 for the recommended service.

Ben K. | 2010-03-29

This review is for their service department.  I was consistently amazed at how poor the service was when bringing my Jeep Cherokee in for fixes (which were many). Two of my favorites were for a faulty power window that they said a warranty rep told them was not covered under warranty but they would fix it for over $200.  I told them to wait so I could call a warranty rep, who quickly told me this was false and immediately followed up with their service department...oh.  The other was a loud, obvious squeaking in the power steering pump which on three separate occasions they told me they didn't hear.  I finally took a mechanic on a test and, despite a loud wailing, he told he could not hear it.  We went back to the service manager who luckily did hear it and they both told me since it was a lease I should just ignore it until the lease was up...ummm...it's not a lease vehicle and the squealing was too annoying to ignore.  I have since gone elsewhere for service because I could no longer stand it.

Tony H. | 2010-03-01

I would give them a 2.5 star if available.
Sales:  High & low pressure.   Good prices if you are well informed and don't buy into all the extras... see finance.
Finance:    High pressure.  I had a cash deal and they wanted me to finance?  Why?  To pay for all the crap we didn't want/need.  We didn't need a $1,200 TV in the back.  We didn't need two power sliding doors (now standard in the higher vans).
Service:  Generally well informed, they get your job done in the time promised (mostly) and are generally nice.  Warranty work is quick and easy.  Out of pocket is a big high, but that's dealers for you.
Parts:  Good selection of most stuff, but I had to drive to Poway to get some lights for the dash they didn't have in stock - and Poway was cheaper per bulb.
When they have the oil change deals, they are reasonable, and they do a nice job.

wes q. | 2010-02-22

i've had my car serviced here for years, so when I wanted to by a new one I came here first.  everyone was easy to work with and found a jeep almost exactly like i wanted except for the color.

Danny W. | 2010-01-29

This review is for the parts and service center. They are lifesavers. I'm good for about a mimbo (male bimbo) move a month, and it just so happens that this month the move was locking both sets of keys in my Jeep.

I called the service department over here and they told me I needed proof that I owned the vehicle and identification to cut me a key. After promising a buddy of mine a reach around I was able to persuade him to take me to Mission Valley to troubleshoot this problem right before they closed.

I was in and out of here lickty- split with a new key and the service manager, Bruce, even gave me his cell phone number and said to call him if I had any problems getting in. Now that's what I call personal first hand awesome service! After a few drinks I can get a bit I-love-you-man-ish so the next time I'm tipsy early enough in the day Bruce is getting a drunk-text telling him how awesome he and the service department are.

eric k. | 2009-10-15

I used to love this place, enough to buy no less than 4 vehicles in 6 years from them.  The sales and service staff were great, before the good folks left.

I decided to ditch my last Jeep back in 2006, a high-end Wrangler Rubicon, which was leased.  I advertised it and found someone to take over my lease for me.

Can you believe that Midway wanted to charge me $1800 just to do the paperwork?  No kidding, JUST TO PROCESS THE PAPERWORK, after I bought 4 cars in 6 years from these people.

I asked, repeatedly, if there were costs to them other than labor, that I didn't know about, and they repeatedly said no, that was just 30 minutes worth of paperwork, but it was their policy and even the general manager was not willing to waive that.

I went up to Poway Jeep and they took care of me for a couple hundred dollars.  I sent the nice lady flowers in thanks.

Jennifer F. | 2009-08-31

First of all, ladies watch out, there are so many sleazeballs at this dealership it was disgusting, if you want to be oogled and asked your number then please go to Midway, but if you want a good experience go elsewhere.

I have only had this jeep for not even two months and my key is "broken" and they are charging me 200 dollars for a key!!!!! I tried to speak with several managers and they all treat you like your an idiot, when all I wanted to know was why this wasn't covered in my warranty when all my electronics are covered?? I HATE THIS DEALERSHIP....IT WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD....RUN AWAY AND DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS

Michael L. | 2009-04-20

Saw a one star review pass by Yelp's front page and thought I'd write a review of my own to be fair.

3 stars.  "OK."

My experience with the salespeople was probably a 5.  They're very helpful, and definitely wanted to make a sale.  Hell, they had a sunroof put in on my 300C because they didn't have one with a sunroof in the color I wanted.  Nice move.  5 stars.

Talking numbers was a pain in the ass as these guys tried to squeeze every penny out of me... can you come up with $XXX by this date.... we can hold a check...         Damn fucker, cant you just make me a fucking deal?  1 star.

The service department is a pain in the ass too, but they get the job done.  If you've got something under warranty that needs to be taken care of, like some bubbled badges or cracks in the cheap plastic interior, you better check up on that shit frequently or they'll blow you off.  2 star.

I'm no math whiz, but 5+1+2 / 3=2.67.  I'm rounding up.  They suck, but the other Chrysler dealers in town aren't any better.

Kris S. | 2009-04-20

Some of the sales guys are okay. But when you get to the finance department they are just plan aweful people to work with. They are crabby and just deliver poor customer service. There is one person by the name of Justin, that works there he just seems oblivious to everything and botched up my financing, and I've had to go back a couple of times to fix HIS mistakes, and he is just one of the people in that department that I have problems with. I never thought getting a vehicle was such a horrible experience. I mean I don't mind paying but have some business professionalism and treat your customers a little better than a junk yard dog, especially when you are bending them over a barrel.

kristin b. | 2009-01-29

Can I give negative stars?  NEVER buy a used car from here or trade a car in.  I traded in a car - they gave me 3000 - later I find out they sold it at an auction for 6000.  They also installed my oil filter incorrectly - causing my engine to blow up - and put some sort of blocking solvent in my heater core - because it was failing.  When I stopped to have the heat checked, the mechanic flushed the coolant - thus flushing out their blocking solvent so my heater core blew.  Never leave a voicemail here - no one checks it admittedly.  Better yet stay as far away from this place as possible.  I never wanted to believe what they say about used car salesmen...but this place makes it impossible not to. WATCH OUT!
