Reviews on Luxor Motors

Every thing was cool, love my car.

Chris S. | 2015-03-08

I hate that my first review is a negative one, but this was the epitome of lousy customer service. Actual transcript of a phone call I just had:

Me: Hi, I'm calling to see if the silver 2007 Mazda is available.
Dealer: Not until Thursday.
Me: Oh, how come? I was hoping to see it today (the car has been advertised for sale on several different sites for well over a week)
Dealer: Because.
Me: I'm sorry?
Dealer: Because I'm not selling until Thursday.

Tell me that it's getting smogged. Tell me it's getting detailed.  Tell me that it's getting new tires put on it. But just "because"? That's an answer one would expect from a 5th grader when you ask why he doesn't want to go to bed--not when you are ready to drive 100 miles to spend thousands of dollars willingly.

One star for great pictures of the car on their website. Would give zero for everything and anything else with the lousy customer service. Talk about wrong foot forward, I can only imagine how any follow-up post sale would be with this business.

Navid is a f*$@#ing beast!! I have never received service from any owner of any company on such a level. Navid has taken care of me like I was family on more than one occasion. THIS IS NOT A FAKE POST!!! It's at a level where I don't think I would ever buy a car without speaking to him first. Anyone who didn't get great service at Luxor Motors was probably a jerk. Navid never pressured me at all. His laid back demeanor completely contradicts the widespread view of the "shady car salesman". Navid went out of his way to make me happy at every level of the negotiation and continues to take care of any issues I've had with the car since I purchased it. I live in L.A. and I would drive to him to buy another car in a heartbeat. Simply put, this is a great place to buy a car.

So far the car that we purchased is in excellent condition. The pre-car inspection checked out and our car is nice.

The issues I have with this dealership come from feeling like something wasn't right. The dealer negotiated with us to do some work that needed to be done on the car. It took over a month for the work to be completed when it should have taken 3 days. We received excuse after excuse and promise after promise and it just got to the point where we ended up picking up the car without him completing all he had promised. We also had an issue getting all of the licensing stuff we had paid for. When he gave us our plates, he gave us ONE plate and the year sticker. We did not receive the second plate or the month sticker. This became a larger issue when he promised that he had someone who regularly went to the DMV and would get them for us by the following Tuesday. So Tuesday rolls around and he has not talked to or heard from this person. We ended up taking the car and what was given to us and taking care of it ourselves. This was incredibly frustrating because we paid him to do it, we both work and had to take time off to do it and because it took well over a month to get the car we had purchased.

I am happy with my car. The carfax checked out and inspections checked out. The owner does what he says he will do, but it is entirely on his own time. And I wasn't being impatient. I really mean on his own time....excuse after excuse.

There are some very good reviews here and there are some very bad reviews here. While I cannot comment on others personal experiences, this was mine.

I was looking for this type of audi a8l all throughout the state. The others that I found were 70% more in price, without the service I received from Navid.

IMO, he has set a bar very high for how to make sure the customer is happy and communication for any car dealership.

It started with a few phone calls, and, knowing what I was looking for and what I was looking at, was able to get him in the car and give me assessment of my questions, and pictures of what I wanted to be. So I knew exactly what I was getting when I was making the purchase.

1st, just like others have posted here, his price was not negotiable.  It was lower than any I have been able to find by at least $8,000 and then up from there. Not being totally ignorant, I knew the car came from auction, & having friends that work for Audi, had them pull the vin information and all the vehicle data directly from the dealers database and Germany.

Navid did not try to do any smoke-n-mirrors with me from the get go. Said the car looked perfect to him when he saw it, so he bought it, but stated he didn't know a lot about this type of vehicle.

As a side note, if you are buying a used vehicle, whether it be from a private party, or a dealer, it is used and was usually sold for a reason, so you could not expect everything to be perfect.

Being I did my background and knew what I was looking for, and looking at, it was decided to make the deal work out.

He was quick to get me all the paperwork required in the mail, overnighted to me (as I am 500 miles north).

He answered all my calls if not when I called, very soon after...and I called even late at night.

During the negotiation, he mentioned that it looked like condensation on the water pump area.

I asked him to have the water pump, thermostat, and the timing belt repaired, which I paid for at an excellent price!!! (even having people locally that could do it, the price was still better)  He had pictures and videos of the work that was done on my vehicle.

The sale was delayed 1 week due to the work needed to be done, as I suspected since the entire front end of the vehicle had to come off.  That was acceptable and he was communicating with me constantly throughout the week.

I booked a flight to San Diego, which he agreed to pick me up with the vehicle and we could finish everything up. I missed my first flight in the morning, due to selling my other audi, then missed the next flight out due to full flight, I called him in between flights and he was nothing but, hey no problem, Ill still take care of you...

The next 2 flights- 1st, was canceled due to a broken part, then the second one was full and I was bumped again.  I called him and checked if it would still be flight, if I could get on the last flight out, would land at about 11:45pm.  He said he was going to be out, but he would call me back.  5 minutes later, my phone rings, he said no problem, he will have his employee come and pick me up.  UNBELIEVABLE!!!

I booked a hotel room while at the airport, and figured, if all else fails, ill call a taxi.

When I landed, turned on my phone, and there was a text from the young man who was picking me up.  It was all his contact information and confirming that he was already there waiting to pick me up.

I called him, and in 5 minutes from that call, he pulled up with his personal Honda, pleasant, and well mannered, asked if I needed help with my bag.

It was my intention that he would just drop me off at my hotel, but that is not what happened.  He took me to the dealership, where I could see the vehicle, and Navid had him give me the keys to the vehicle so I could drive it that night and on my own time, show up in the morning and finish the paperwork. Keep in mind, nothing was paid for and signed, but he was just making sure my experience was great.

Vehicle was everything that was expected, and actually nicer, especially on the inside.

The next morning, I took it to get detailed, and he said he would pay for that, I did not agree for that, then went to his location, and had a great conversation with him.

His location is that of a small business owner, not some large franchise or Penske-type location. So you shouldn't expect everything to be the way you would see a big floor room display etc.

We finished up and I started my drive back to the San Jose area.

Vehicle was and is impeccable for what I paid for it.  Knowing what I was getting, I still put some money into it.

After a great ride home, couple things came up.  One, on the way home, the TPMS sensors went off.  Those only last 5-6 years, so the batteries on them died.  I was able to find the sensors for all 5 tires for $180 and pay $100 for getting them installed.  He offered to pay, I declined.

Navid followed up with me on everything, on his own.

Navid was a very nice guy! Friendly . Had all the paperwork in line. Smog check, oil change, inspection was done on the vehicle made me feel very safe and secure about buying my car used!! Good place to go!

Kyle S. | 2014-08-14

It's hard to find a trustworthy car dealer, but look no further! Navid was super helpful when I bought my 2006 4runner. He had a carfax on hand when I started looking at all the vehicles, he also told me everything straight up. All his vehicles were of solid quality and very well priced, I left the lot with full confidence that I received a great deal and an ever better car.

When I needed to get my car checked up he even gave me the name of a local mechanic that he used.

If you are looking for a solid car, with reasonable prices and amazing customer service be sure to visit Luxor Motors.

Brian Z. | 2014-08-13

Met with navid, and sold my girlfriend and I a very nice 07 BMW coupe.  He was very accommodating and did cut a few hundred off the price....nice person sowed us all nessary paperwork to make us feel happy about buying.  We were in and out faster than big dealership

Chase A. | 2014-08-02

I haven't received the title to my Audi in over a year.  The DMV has never heard of the documents Navid sent me, and I encourage anyone looking to this dealer to purchase a "luxury car" should look elsewhere.  False documentation and bad attitudes.

Xtreme Fitness Center S. | 2014-07-16

I will start off by saying that all these great reviews "friends" are not fooling anyone.  However I will take my own review.  I bought a car cash on March 20th 2014, car was delivered without smog, plates or license.  The car had no brakes, air condition died on the way home, he patched the car up to sell it, did a horrible one day paint job on it that is embaressing. Additional Navid the owner wrote the contract for $5k cheaper. .reason is to pay less tax for both of us. I have not received my license plate within the 90 day period,  I got 2 tickets and the car impounded for not being registered. Meaning he never did the registration for the vehicle nor the smog which a requirement by law. Additional when you call him he yells and scream about how corrupt the DMV is and that I am miss informed.  I went to DMV three times and had them on the phone and he was still denying it. Finally I got arrested for driving a stolen car, paid $3500 bail to go out and proof I bought this car from luxor motor.  As of today I don't have my plates nor the registration,  even though I did the smog for him to expedit the matter.  Navid picked up my plates from DMV on June 6th, that's well over a month and half. I am now taking him  to small claims and served that fraud bastard. AVOID this dealership at all cost.

Suxor motors should be the name of this place. These guys are very shady. Went in to check out a vehicle about a week ago and was quoted a price and came back in a week later and now quoted a new higher price. They are unwilling to negotiate at all on the price. These guys are selling cars that need a lot and I mean a lot of repairs. They are unwilling to fix anything. They will tell you great stories about each car and that is when the red flags start to go up. Buyer beware!

I had been through many local car dealers and private sellers before I finally made it to Luxor Motors. I had seen "rollbacks" "washed titles" and all kinds of scams from other dealers and sellers (my fellow car buyers - be careful - do your homework). So, I approached Navid at Luxor Motors with caution because I thought he may be like all the others. Boy, was I wrong. Unlike the others, Navid allowed me (even encouraged me) to take the car I was interested in to my mechanic. No "1 hour time limit" like some of the others. He told me to take all the time I wanted. I was looking at a 10 year old car and was expecting my mechanic to find a few things, but as long as there were no major issues and my mechanic gives me a "thumbs up" I would purchase the vehicle. My mechanic told me to buy this car (this was the third car I brought to him and the only one he approved). When I brought the car back to Navid, he offered to take care of the items found by my guy (motor mount & CV boot). I came back the next day and verified that the parts were installed - they were. Navid told me he noticed a "click" in the steering, but I didn't notice it until he showed me. My mechanic didn't notice either. He offered to fix the steering for free and he did. He replaced the rack and pinion unit. Huge improvement! I thought it was fine before, but it's soo much better now. Not many (not any) dealers would go this extra mile for their customers. As a 20 year Navy vet, I appreciate when a salesman shows some Honor. Thanks Navid! I will recommend you to all my friends and family.

Went in this weekend to look at a nice Silverado for my wife. I must say there was absolutely no pressure we looked at the truck took it for a test drive and then worked out a deal. There were a couple issues and Navid was quick to address them and get them fixed and when he noticed the brakes needed to be done he had them fixed right then and there. I will recommend them to anyone I know looking for a good vehicle from a respectable dealer.

Julia N. | 2014-05-13

I bought my 1st BMW ever from Luxor Motors. I love my car!

Navid, the owner was so accommodating.  I got a great price and the car runs great.  I have read the other reviews and am shocked that other people have such a bad perception of Navid.  He was so nice.  I guess you can't please everyone.  It was a very smooth transaction.  I didn't feel any pressure at all.

I bought a subaru forester here in December of 2013. Navid provided us with customer service that exceeded out expectations. He offered us a very reasonable deal on the car.

When we pointed out slight damage one of the front seats, he went out of his way to replace the whole seat's upholstery.

Overall we had an exceptional experience buying this vehicle and I would recommend the dealership to a friend.

Manager at this place is named Navid Adibi.

This place is very janky, four people hanging out with their feet on the couch, smoking outside. Parking lot is full of dirty cars.

Shady business owned by a very very shady person. Navid talks to me in a very unprofessional manner, conducts his business like a 19 year old teenager who is out to get every penny from you while having the least paperwork.

MaryAnn W. | 2013-10-25

My boss and I took a drive in his car and the car starting shaking so we pulled in and parked the car and wanted to figure out what was wrong. First we thought it was gas, so we walked to get gas and that was not the problem!

We were going to tow the car to a mechanic shop, but Navid came out of his shop to grab a smoke before he opened I guess.

He walked over to us and ask if we needed any help. My boss told him what happen and he told us to pop the hood while he looked under it. After 30 minutes of Navid messing around with the engine. It worked!!! I guess a part was loose and he also told us we needed to get an oil change quick and to take care of the Land Rover we had if we want it to last long. He also gave us some tips when buying a car and I guess its a good thing since he was a car dealer!

Navid was great and very helpful.

This has been long due. After being around looking for a good used car for almost a month, I ran into a nice car priced in my budget at Luxor Motors. I came to know about it on Craiglist. I called them up and Navid was willing to meet me on a Sunday and honestly he spent around 2 hours with me showing me cars and explaining other details about buying/selling cars as I was totally new to this(Being moved to US recently). I felt no pressures at all, Navid game me enought time to decide and also let me call a mechanic for an onsite inspection. I ended up buying a nice toyota Camry from Navid. This place is highly reccomended if you planning to buy  a car in a budget as Navid works with you and gives a lot of options with no pressures. Thanks Navid for making it easy.

A great place after recently relocating in the past weeks. I felt no pressure in purchasing a car when I visited, and even got a few minutes to glance at their inventory displayed before having been greeted, which can be a good or bad thing. I had a purchase in mind, and the pricing was unparalleled, however right next to it was coincidentally the car I ended up buying instead. Again, no pressure in purchasing it, but I felt this is the car for me. Navid did a terrific job catering to me and allowing me to test drive both cars I had interest in without question.

Upon test-driving, I was informed of all information regarding the car (as I am nit-picky when it comes to such a big investment as I'm sure many are.) I received the CarFax without hesitation, and had no issues whatsoever when it came down to business. Of course, only a sucker would pay for sticker price, so when it came to negotiating there was no way I would ever purchase a car at sticker value. Boy is he a hard egg to crack. Eventually, I got the price lowered a bit, which isn't surprising considering the value it's placed at is already quite incredible. Previous reviews geared me away, however I can't disagree more what a pleasant experience I had. Not only that, but he even dropped the car off at my house the following day after it had been detailed!

The reasoning for a 4 star not 5 (and will be changed depending on the future) is because of a few things. One, the car came to me with 1/4 tank filled, which, let's be honest, is pretty much a standard nowadays to have the tank completely filled out of respect. Second, a piece of the rubber stopper along the car door was missing, but he had said he would try his best and not "promise" or write in the contract to repair this tiny piece. It's quite noticeable, but again as it has only been such a short time since the purchase I figure I would give my input and edit it depending on how well the post-customer experience goes.

FYI: I bought a 2006 BMW 325i with about 106k miles on it for $12.7k after tax and all.

I went here today looking at a Mercedes E320. Firstly, if you are trying to find this place off miramar road, head into the lot that your navigation says and it's about 50 yards down. Anyways, The first question the salesman asked me is if i am paying via cash or finance. That's such a weird question since I haven't even been in the car yet. So then he tells me that there are no scratches anywhere on the vehicle. I go to the trunk and notice 3-4 downward facing scratches that cut into the paint. He got annoyed and said those were "wear and tear" which they probably were but that he said there were no scratches seemed disingenuous.

Anyways he tells me that if I want I can test drive it around the block. So I say sure, let me just get used to the car first. So I play around with it then decide I want to test drive it. I ask him if he needs my driver's license or anything and he then starts asking me all these questions about when I'm going to buy it, how'd i'm going to buy, if I'm trustworthy. He says that he has had people just test driving cars and wants to make sure I will. He then tells me that "it looks and runs great". Well I don't know if it runs great, I tell him, because he won't let me test drive it. Keep in mind that I came to this dealer wearing a dress shirt, dress slacks, tie, and drove a 2003 BMW. I didn't just show up wearing pjs and a beat up jalopy.

Back to the story, I tell him I'm waiting for my tax refund and then he asks me when I'm getting that. i tell him I am not sure. He then asks me if I am getting the car on deposit and then paying it back later. I say I just want to test drive the car and make sure it runs ok then going to decide. I forgot what he said after this but I took out the key and said "This isn't worth it" and start walking away. Then he practically begs me to come drive it. He puts the key in my face and says "Come on man, come drive the car. It's ready to go." I just walk to my car ASTONISHED that someone could be so daft and terrible to a potential customer to act like that. Unbelievable.

Watch out for this place!!! Susan was right!! bought a 2002 vw gti from this place. I was told that repaires would be done on the car. This was in december of 2011 it is now may 2012 and my car is still not fixed. Once i finally had enough i called luxor to tell them that the contract was not fufilled, they said it was never in the contract. "shady business, Scams". The dealer also called me multiple curse words and said if i want to rumble they could rumble. Unprofessional. "forged paperwork! never and i mean never go there, take it from me, you will be in the same postion im in now.

Susan A. | 2012-04-22

Watch out for this place!!! Scams, shady business, cars that seem OK on the surface- but have serious problems, disorganized, forged paperwork, etc. Luxury cars with heinous performance.
