I came here today to check out a new Chevrolet Camaro. I told them that I was just looking around and wasn't going to purchase the vehicle immediately. At most other dealerships you would start getting a bunch of questions and comments like "why not buy it today, we can offer you a great deal" or "you're wasting my time if you're not buying today", but here Ivan just let me drove the car for as long as I wanted and gave me all the information I need to make my final decision. He was honest, specific, professional and respectful. If I decide to buy the Camaro, I hope to buy it from Ivan. if you're looking for great customer service, ask for Ivan when you go to this dealership. You won't regret it!

Archie and his team were willing to do so without giving us a problem.  They did not need to do this, but they were willing to help us in a time of need.  I would not hesitate in recommending this dealership to others.

Over the weekend we happen to stop by and look at inventory,  my boyfriend saw a chevy impala cost of 10,450, sales personal Ian approach and offer us his assistant, shortly after that we went on a test drive. Ian was able to answer all question regarding the Impala . My boyfriend felt good about the vehicle, so Ian  brought us in to his office to check on my boyfriends status you know the whole 9 yards.
We got all information needed, we decided to come back after fueling on food. We returned after 1 1/2, worked #'s out and in an hour everything was approved contract was made ready for signing. Wow the finance department was quick and we had ask to go over all documents before signing,  finance had no problem with that and assure us of all.
I was surprised how fast in buying a vehicle with City Chevrolet overall took. Happy to experience a quicker service rather than spending over 4 hrs. In the dealership.

Only issue was some miscommunication with manager but got handle by Ian, but one other thing we weren't shown how to program bluetooth.  We are at this time working with Ian to help with programming.

So far so good with the overall experience and how quick the deal got us out of there not to exceed 2 hours of waiting on a deal (less then asking price on window); they were quick and easy.

We brought our 2013 Chevrolet Volt in for regular service.  In less than one minute after arriving in the service line, a friendly female came to our window and asked how she could help us.  We said we had an appointment for service and she asked for our name.  We told her our name and she said she would confirm our reservation.  Very shortly thereafter Sean came to our car and welcomed us to City Chevrolet.  We got out of the car and followed him to his service office and he reviewed the service we were scheduled for and we gave him a coupon we received in our email. He said the service would take no more than 45 minutes and said we could wait in the service lounge which he walked us to.  We sipped coffee and watched TV for 40 minutes when he popped his head into the lounge and said our vehicle was ready.  He pointed us to the cashier area and said we could pay our invoice and we would be all done.  He smiled and thanked us.  We paid our bill and were on our way home.  It was a very good service experience in every aspect.

Came here with my sister for her 30 day check on the volkswagon Passat she bought (within the 30 days she already had to replace the battery and has squakey brakes) I have never seen such horrible customer service. Patrick who sold her the car was rude,impatient and was not interested  in helping at all in fact he told us there was no manager to help us till Monday and there was no business cards,  after talking to us he walked away and 10 min later we saw him leave for the day. Not even a word to us I can not believe this company treats its customer this way. So glad I bought my car from mossy Nissan horrible.

We went there planning on buying the Chevy Traverse.  We test drove it and were ready to pull the trigger.  We started negotiation and informed them of our USAA Military discount on MSRP.  We had to leave, but were planning on coming back in a few hours.  After our commitment, we called them later to see what progress had been made and what the final price would be with the military discount.  We were told that they would NOT honor the contract with USAA because it was "too good of a deal for us."  An American car dealer not wanting to honor a military discount? What?  We ended up going to Toyota of Escondido, who did honor our USAA military discount.  How ironic- A Japanese car dealer honors a USA Military discount and the American car dealer does not.

Wow, one of the best car buying experiences I've ever had. Discussed trade in and new car finances via email, and used Truecar to be sure I was on-par with the price. I got a very good deal on my trade in, and got a 2015 Chevy Colorado. Ivan Martinez was my salesman, and I have nothing but good things to say all around. No pressure, just helpful people. When I went to sign the papers nobody tried to upsell me on things I didn't want, nobody tried to haggle with the pricing and sneak in things I didn't need. I went in on my lunch break, and was out the door in my new truck just a couple of hours later. It would have been quicker, but the bank I got my loan through wasn't exactly fast, so that's not City's fault. The showroom is clean, the people are nice, what more can I ask for? If you are getting a new car, I can say this place does it right.

The check engine light went on in my Chevy Cruze so I brought it to the service department and Lloyd in service was super friendly and was able to accommodate me on such short notice to fix my battery and replace my thermostat and coolant. They even checked my tire pressure and washed my car all for free. I would definitely recommend going to their service department!

Such a waste of time. Salesperson left me sitting in the office for 45min while he was flirting with the girl answering the calls. by the time he came around to show me the numbers I couldn't give a shit. told him I want my keys and the reg for my car back so I can leave... dude pretends he lost the registration until the manager comes back and he tells her that I'm leaving. She shrugs her shoulders like she doesn't care and out of nowhere my registration shows up on his desk. my biggest regret is not getting any names so I can shame then on yelp.

I had to bring my car in for a factory recall part and the experience couldn't have went any smoother (plus got picked up by a limo when my car was done). Shuttle service was always on time for pick up/ drop off, friendly staff, and they valued your time so you can get back on the road. SUPER impressed by everybody here!

We had to bring the Tahoe in one weekday, after we noticed the damn thing had sprung a leak and was running hot.

We did a quick Yelp search to find a dealer close to us, and found City (thank you, fellow Yelpers!)

We rolled up into the service bay at about 10 in the morning, and quickly stepped out of the car (mostly because I was a bit afraid that my car was about to 'splode...)

We were greeted right away by Guy, who asked if we had an appointment (we didn't), and then asked what brought us in. We explained what was going on, and pointed out the puddle of smelly liquid that was quickly forming under our engine.

Guy then brought us back to his booth to get more information, and asked if we had any other things that needed to be addressed. As a matter of fact, there was this pesky "Service Air Bag" message that we'd been getting for a few months, which we asked him to have checked out.

He told us that he'd call us with an estimate on everything before releasing the car for repairs, and then started the paperwork to get us a rental car for as long as they had our Tahoe.

We then went into the dealership to get the rental squared away, and worked with Tiffany (I hope that was her name). She was the only one working her area at that time, so she had a bit of a line, but she was fast and efficient, and incredibly friendly. She apologized that the only car she had was dirty, and asked if we minded. Assuring her we didn't, we finished the paperwork and went outside to wait for the car to be brought to us.

My god...if they think the car they gave us was dirty, I shudder to think about how they'd label my car! The rental was partially spotless! Silly people.

At any rate, before we left, Guy told us they might need to keep our car for two days, but we got the first call with diagnoses and an estimate not an hour later. Three hours later, they called to tell us the car was done and that we could pick it up any time before 7 that night.

Again, the cashier we met with to check the car out was so incredibly sweet (I wish we had gotten her name).

I really can't say enough good things about this place!

When you buy a vehicle from a dealer for the first time you do not know what kind of service they will provide when you inevitably have problems with it. I am here to tell you that City Chevrolet gave us outstanding service and stands behind their product when we have had problems with our vehicle. They have gone beyond what you would expect from a dealer in our dealings with them and I wholeheartedly recommend them.

In 2007 our company bought a Silverado 3500 with a dump body. It ran perfectly for 41k miles. The tranny went out at that point and it was quickly replaced under warranty. I mean seriously quickly- in two days! I failed to write the glowing review City Chevrolet deserved at that time. Now, at 81k miles, the tranny went out again. I explained the problem to Service Consultant Mike Kennedy. He looked it up and found that the truck was out of warranty but he would talk to the Service Manager about what, if anything, GM/Chevrolet could do about it. I am not sure of the process but I do know the result- they fixed it again (along with a few ancillary repairs). Again, very quickly.

I think that, based on my experience, you can buy a vehicle from City Chevrolet with confidence that they will do the right thing if you have problems with it down the road. I know I'll be back when we need another vehicle.

Bought my car from this dealer a year ago and had a really good experience. Since I had a good experience my husband was in the market for a truck and we went back, used the same car salesman but this time not only did we get the worst customer service but they weren't willing to even work a deal when my husband was going to buy a truck that day, needless to say we went to jimmy johns and they were fabulous!!!!! They worked and deal and got us into a brand new truck and treated us with respect. It is always frustrating when your car breaks down and you are in a new area and need quick service but I think I lucked out when finding City Chevrolet. My tie rod broke on my 2005 car and it was a Friday before Christmas. I called in and got e real assessment and decided to bring my car in. I was extremely satisfied to bring my car in and get same day repairs AND  get my car back by the end of the day. And a huge bonus - the repairs were only a little over $300. I have forgotten to write a review until now- shame on me! I was looking to lease a new volt at the end of last year (nov 2012) when my car was on its last leg. I knew not only was it hard to find a volt at that time because they were so popular (with state refunds, HOV stickers, and the 120+ mpg) and the new ones haven't come out yet. I truly dread going to a dealership with all the selling, disregard for your finances, time and IQ its usually a whole day spent in frustration. I did a lot of research on chevy dealerships i the area and while I normally wouldn't drive all the way down to San Diego from vista for much of anything this dealership stood out among them all on every website I could find. They also were not pushy or rude when I called inquiring about a volt like some of the others were. I knew what I wanted and I wasn't going to settle for less, a different color, a higher price tag etc like some others were trying to tell me I would have to. I made an appt, went in (very well informed and with the consumer report print out of what they paid for the car). I negotiated my way to a better deal than I could have ever thought and even my boyfriend was shocked and wants me to buy his next car. Feeling like I've been ripped off hangs over my head when I buy a car and I can never seem to let it go. I can honestly say I know I got a great deal! They have also provided me with wonderful service. Updating me on when they would like to do a free check on my battery and car, and taking the time to fix a loose bolt that was causing my car to sound like a plane landing when I came to a stop. When I showed up for the regular maintance with a book, and told them about my issue with the sound they instantly said "we are going to keep it and figure out what is going on, lets get u a free rental." I got to pick which rental I wanted (which was great because I thought I had wanted an equinox but aft driving the rental and realizing how slow the pick up is i don't want one anymore!).

They have great and while every dealership is out to make money I can say that this one also has the customers best interest at heart and they will work with you!

I was in my first car accident and was unsure what to do. I was rear-ended in heavy traffic and my insurance recommended I take my car to City Chevrolet. They were great! Tyler explained in detail everything that would be done to get my car to the perfect condition it was in prior to the hit. And John assured me that I was in great hands. My Suburban broke down in San Diego this Sunday on a trip home to Orange county. I had my vehicle towed to City Chevrolet for repairs on Monday morning.

I made my way back to OC fearing the worst!

Checked in on Monday morning and spoke with Bill, awesome guy, friendly, super helpful and made me feel comfortable right from the get go.

Fairly quickly, Bill and his team diagnosed the problem and let me know what they needed to do...and the cost of repair was very reasonable,  So much so I asked Bill and his team to make a few other minor adjustment to my Vehicle as well.

Out of a bad situation, I was able to find a great company with outstanding customer service and support staff...

In closing, when I dropped of my truck, it was a bit dirty! The night before the holel  I was staying at, valet parked my car under a palm tree... came out the next morning covered in sap...Bill let me know he would was my car to make sure the sap did not set and damage the pain! It came out great....Now that's customer service.

I would highly recommend this dealership. This was the easiest car-buying experience I've had. Both the salesman (Tori) and his manager (Kathy/Kathleen?) were great to work with.  I got the car I wanted for the price I wanted and I didn't have to jump through hoops or spend hours negotiating. Plus they outright crushed the best offer that Jimmie Johnson Chevrolet made me after several hours of negotiation. In July of 2012 we purchased our 1st Chevy Volt from City Chevrolet in San Diego for my husband! The service manager, Katie, couldn't have been more helpful. After sneaking it at every opportunity I could I decided I was going to get one of my own. So, I contacted Katie 8/7/13 to inform her I wanted one of my own. I picked my car out over the choices in stock (Keep in mind I already have one from them), so all I really needed was to pick the options I wanted on the car. Katie arranged to have my new car DELIVERED to me in Sherman Oaks, CA. and my trade picked up for the driver's return to San Diego.
Ian Romero was very professional while assisting Katie in the purchase of my new Volt and obtaining all the necessary paperwork for my purchase and trade.
If you are looking for a wonderful experience and smooth transaction this is the dealership to choose.
Even when there was a small hiccup in the transaction they were courteous and made sure that the issue was resolved.

I brought it my Chevy HHR 09, the check engine light was on and the car wasn't running too smooth to say the least. I got a great deal on a 2012 (year-old) VW Golf. So great that I drove from the Valley in LA to San Diego in order to pick it up. The total investment to drive down was about $250, and I still saved way more than that on the vehicle. Totally worth it.

Even though I already knew which car I wanted, Sam took very good care of me. He left me alone to do my own inspections on the vehicle, and even gave me a ride back from the rental car place, since I had driven down a one-way rental.

My daughter damaged her 2006 Cobalt, somehow breaking one of the control arms in the process plus some body work. City did a wonderful job of keeping me up to date on the progress of the car, updating me on when repairs and body work will be done, if it wasn't going to be when they said, why there was a delay. Overall wonderful job of making me comfortable with the process.

What I will say is that you ARE going to pay more at a dealership, but you also get the knowledge that they are going to use genuine parts and not aftermarket parts, if they have to use a part due to something no longer being made they WILL tell you!

Lastly, they were able to save me some money on some parts because of those parts actually being less expensive then they originally thought.

My fiance was in the market for a CC.  He'd been researching for a month when he found a great deal on a used VW and emailed these guys (they also own the VW lot next door).  

We swung by after the SD Auto Show (because test driving the car at the show really go him excited).  We were greeted by a friendly woman at the front and were introduced to the biggest ball of energy in a sales person I have ever met.  :)  First thing out of her mouth, "Call me Shaka, like Chaka Kahn.  My mom wanted my name to rhyme with her best friend's daughter's name - Rhonda.  Best part is my mom is white!"  LOL - definitely knew that this was going to be unlike any car buying experience ever (and we've gone thru 4 car experiences last year alone!).

They were closing but Shaka still took us out for a test drive and she even spoke in the British accent that the Fi and I tend to don when we're out and about.  (Also, she self admittedly explained that her accent began as British, to Chinese, to Scottish and ended at Australian LMAO.  At least she kept it up.)

We ended up coming back after the new year to bring our trade in.   They were still as great as ever and we closed out the place.  I got there at 8 to start things and they waited for Fi to get off work at 9.  We worked with Rick, the assistant manager, who negotiated a fair price with us.  Got us a great deal!  

This was by far the most fun and easiest car buying experience.  They took care of us and even gave us free Starbucks cocoa each time.  City Chevrolet y'all rock - thanks & happy new year!

If your a Corvette owner like me, City Chevrolet has the technical experts to get your Vette fixed properly and in a timely manner. Mike Kennedy is my Service Advisor and he is the Bomb! He is cool, understanding and does everything possible to get your vehicle fixed and back to you in a timely manner.

BTW, ignore the 1 star reviews, these people don't know what they are talking about. The mechanics are excellent and if they can work on a complex LS3, LS7 or LS9 Corvette engine. (Very high performance) they can certainly fix your Chevy Cruz!

Hats off to Mike and the entire service crew at City Chevrolet!

Had to file BBB dispute to get the dealers attention. Once I brought the car home I started noticing some features that'd been listed on the ad and paperwork were missing (bluetooth, mismatched tires, satellite radio.....) Salesman told me wrong information about the warantee length and previous usage of the car. When I confronted the dealer they said the salesman had made some 'honest mistakes' and that there wasn't anything they could do to fix them. They never just said sorry or offered to fix the issues. Took me over a month to get their attention, and once I did, they hardly solved it. Spent $25,000 on an almost new car, so I don't feel like these issues should come up. Shady and disrespectful. Take your $$ somewhere else.

Lupe Maupin steals the show again!!  It's not everyday that I take my car to the shop, I am lucky like that.  This (second) time it was just time for service.  

It was time for my tune-up for my old 2004 SAAB 9-3, so where did I go?  City Chevrolet (where I had such AMAZING service last time).  And what did I get?  AMAZING SERVICE ONCE AGAIN!!!  Lupe Maupin met me out on the service drive at before they had even opened to jot down some items from my car (mileage/VIN/etc) and we visited shortly.  It's nice to get to know your service techs on both a personal and professional level.  Once they opened, I pulled under the cover and she was printing my papers as I was getting out of the car.  I thought to myself "YES!!  This is the type of service I am used to!!"  Today, at work, I received an email (Lupe knows I prefer emails over calls) at 11:32 AM and at 1:59 PM just to give me quick updates and to keep me informed.  At 2:47 PM, Lupe sent me a final email to let me know that my car is ready for pick-up.  

In the end Lupe A) Saved me some money today B) Took EXCELLENT care of me and my car C) Kept me informed throughout the day.  They are the simple ABC's of the Auto Service World that EVERY SINGLE automobile owner expects and deserves, and Lupe hits them on the head every time.

I bought my 2007 Chevy Suburban at the dealership a few years ago. The salesman was easy to work with and friendly.

Since then, I've had to bring my suburban in for maintenance and also for some repairs. Lupe was the service person I dealt with most of the time. She was very friendly and went out of her way to make sure I was taken care of properly. I appreciate the help, it means a lot.

i hate car shopping because i am a swf. i dealt with 3-4 different car dealers and salepeople and many different weird calls on my cell phone because i did not realize that getting a quote online really meant they wanted to call you on your cell. one day i was so fed up with the lies from the douche saleguy across the street at city volkswagon that i walked across the street and ended up buying a car i never would have considered but i love the damn thing now. never go car shopping alone if you are a swf. they are vultures looking to pick your carcass.the guy i dealt with at city volkswagon lied to me two times that i caught him at within five-ten minutes. what a douche. how he can sleep at night is beyond me. i hope he reads this posting. armondo!!!!!you suck!!!!!!

This review is about the service department only.  I have no experience with the sales dept.

My main contact with the service department is Bill Graber, a service technician.  He's one of the people in those tiny stand-up offices you drive up to when you first arrive.  He's always friendly and always really listens to my problem.  Then he writes a service order that shows exactly what I said to be the problem.

I've been there three times for issues with my 2009 Colorado.  Each time they did a thorough check-out and fixed what they thought was wrong.  They even found things I didn't complain about and fixed those too!  There was never any charge since the vehicle is still under warranty.

Their free shuttle service is fast and efficient.  One of the cars is a stretch limousine!  They will take you to your home or office and pick you up again later.

After three visits and (hopefully) the solution to my starting problem, the service manager called me on the phone just to ask if my truck is starting as it should.  He spent a few minutes discussing the history of this kind of problem and why it was so difficult to diagnose.  These weren't excuses, he really wanted me to know the truth about what was going on.

If you need service on your Chevy or Volkswagen, definitely trust these guys to do as thorough a job as possible.

Since Saturn is no more, I have to take my car to a GM dealer for some things. I chose City based largely on Yelp reviews. All I needed was a diagnoses for a minor issue. Made an appointment for 9:00 AM. I got there about 10 minutes early. Finally got checked in around 9:30. At 4:00 PM I finally called Lupe and she contacted the "technician" working on my car. Not done but gave me a totally off the wall estimate for over $400 for a seat back heater element! I declined. Was not able to get my car back until the next day noon! A DAY AND A HALF to diagnose an open heater pad! I hate to think how long something difficult would take...or cost.

I went there on Sunday morning to look at a Chevy Sonic. The Sales Manager, Katie, was especially helpful in trying to get everything together to get me the car I wanted. I will absolutely be back to buy my next car from them. I have been to several car dealers, and this one by far is the friendliest. They are very willing to work with you on trade in value and price.

We always take our diesel truck to be serviced here. Bill grabber always works with us. The prices are high, but I do believe you get what you pay for. Our last visit we had a major issue with our truck wheel, and our truck is out of warrianty. Between bill and the service manager they took care of the problem. Over 1000.00 in parts and service. I believe that they took care of us because we purchased the truck here and we have the service work done here also. They did not need to cover this but they did, their service dept is a stand up organization!

I had to go to a dealer (gulp) for recall work on my car and I kept reading all the horror stories from Marvin K Brown, Courtesy Chev and others and I couldn't decide where to go.  When I finally came across City Chevrolet, well, there were only a few reviews but they were good so I decided to hold my breath and give them a try.

Chris was my service rep , and I feel he went out of his way to make sure I had a good experience.  I needed some other work done besides the recall and he priced under what he had quoted me.  

Folks were nice and I think the car is better than before I brought it in.  So that's good.  The cashier promised to mail something to me and it came two days later, as promised.  I would go back!

The 5th star is missing because the place is a bit old.  The lounge area is so so.  They have wireless but no computers, 1 or 2 snack machines (outside), a bunch of chairs.  They didn't try to up sell me, but there are a few things my car needed that they could've offered.  They didn't put a tire back into its compartment--probably didn't know there was one. Still, all in all, really a good place.  WHEW!  (Sigh of relief)

I am a young single female, which means the majority of placesI go to to get work done on my car, magically find 100 things wrong and don't actually fix the problem I go in for.  Not City Chevrolet, I have always felt that they have been honest to me (even when I come in with a list of repairs someone else tells me I need they will only do the work that actually needs to be done).  They also always fix whatever I bring the car in for, even if my descriptions of the problem are nebulous.  My only complaint is that they are a little pricey, but that is probably true for any dealer.

City Chevrolet service department is great!  I deal with Mike Kennedy when I go and get my Chevy Tahoe and he really takes care of me.  I bought the Tahoe at City Chevrolet and have had it maintained there since I got it.  Mike has always gone above and beyond to help me out and make sure I leave completely satisfied, which is not easy to do.  The work they do there is always top-notch and the customer service is great.

Went looking to purchase a truck. Very friendly staff, but the salesperson knew very little about trucks.  I had to answer his truck questions!  I told him what I wanted, and they found 2 in SoCal.  I asked about the prices, and got the usual "come in and let's talk to the manager."  Forget that.  On the printouts he gave me on the 2 trucks, I took the VIN of the one I was most interested in, entered it into Google, and found the dealership that was selling the truck I wanted (Selman in Orange).  Salesperson there told me the price, I went up to look, and bought the truck.  No BS talking to some manager.  When will these salespeople learn?
