Reviews on Primetime Autos

Please don't buy a car from these guys. We bought a car and within three days it had major problems which the owner blammed on us. They did the repairs but of course made us pay for them. He said he gave us a discount on the work. Gee thanks.
The car continued to have problems and I sold at a huge loss. They buy cars at auctions and most are pieces that need work. They are crooks!

Worst experience ever. Wait tell the yell scream threaten and call you names. I got called a fucking bitch ( on the phone of corse) when trying to get the brakes fixed on a car I recently bought with the agreement it would be fixed within 2 weeks. 3 months later and nothing but BS. They ordered the wrong part 3 times and the manufacturer only makes 2 options to order for that particular part. Yup 3 times they ordered the same wrong part, it's kind of amazing how incompetent they are. I was very understanding the whole time tell they told me t was the dealers fault about a new part when clearly it was a used part from a used or totaled car from junk yard, then i said don't lie to be just be honest and that's when the true colors come out with threats and name calling. Pathetic business practices and costumes service. They still have not fixed the part they promised to fix. Please don't buy here they are extremely rude rude rude people. If people keep buying cars the will continue to hurt people
-5 stars
Ps I have worked on cars for 20 years and buy cars very often and this is my first experience like this, very sad to know their are people like this.

This place is a rip off I got a car not even two weeks later it broke down. They said they would fix it. They changed the part that needed to be changed got my car back with oil everywhere plus no coolant and my car was making a Rattling sound. I called them the owner JAY told me that I had someone else work on the car that. Messed it up. Was trying to say it was my fault. This place sucks don't ever buy a car from them. they also say I need to do a tune up. So I asked what maintenance do you guy do on the car before you sell them the owner JAY told me they don't do any. And that came from the owners mouth he also said we just get cars running that's it.

First time purchasing a new/used car from a dealer, and I had a great experience at Primetime Autos. I found the Toyota Rav4 that I have been looking for, the rare 3rd row seat that I needed for my growing family. My experience was good virtually no sales pressure, they allowed me to go on a test drive with my wife unaccompanied. I was able to road test and fully inspect the vehicle. The minor issues the vehicle had were put on a 'Due Bill' and before purchasing the vehicle every item was taken cared off and then some. Not only did the windshield get replaced but they also went ahead and polished the headlights as the plastic was dull and faded. I didn't ask for it and they took care of it. Definitely will return to buy again in the future.

Just got back from Elk Grove Honda today for another major repair.  $2800!  The axles, joints, and oil pan leaks!

Whoa, where did Prime Time people find this vehicle?  It looks really nice on the interior and exterior.  But $2800 professionally repair service is not cool.

I have now officially paid MORE in repairs than the vehicle itself!  That's like paying $20K for this 2004 Honda Civic! $9K for the vehicle in payments and OVER $10K in repairs in LESS than 3 YEARS! Incredible.

How do you Prime Time people (owners, mechanics, employees, salesmen and so forth) sincerely and honestly go home and face your family when you don't take no responsibility in selling decent, good vehicles to hardworking citizens??!  "As is" means ripping people off, causing them major stresses financially, emotionally, and physically?

The major lesson I learned is to deal with legit people in legit places.  They say, "never judge a book by its cover."  But in this case, it's the opposite.  JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER, PLEASE!!

Prime Time Auto is in a ghetto area, and it is owned/operated by super shady type of individuals.  Just by asking their full names, you'll know what I'm talking about.  They give their people, culture, and country a real bad reputation.

I'll keep you posted on more repairs, which by now I'm not surprised by anymore.  I'll pay the vehicle off by the end of the year.  I'm an honest person, with full integrity. I'll keep the vehicle and probably give it to my niece or nephew.

Prime Time Auto, NO ONE is going to deal with you in the long run if you're not a person of FULL integrity.  Please look that up in the dictionary.  All I want for you is to have full integrity and complete honesty.  Repent for your sins and start helping folks and restoring your name for the sake of your family and country!  That's all I care about.  I actually feel sorry for you Prime Time.  Do you really have to live like scums and borderline criminals to earn a living?  Honestly?  Really?  You know what you did wrong.  Worst of all, you CHOOSE to CONTINUE to do wrong!  That' even worst.  People go to hell for that, you know?

Buying a used car can be a hit or miss adventure. This trip, Raj helped us pick out a very nice Toyota 4Runner. I feel like we got a good deal and Raj was very personable and low pressure. It's not a fancy office but the car was clean and well kept.
We ended up having to settle on a loan from Wells Fargo but that is my only complaint.
Thanks Raj!

More just arose to this review today unfortunately... I discovered it after calling the loan people to try and work out a deal because I was going to try and triple my payments over the next year to get this "money pit" paid off before it breaks down again. My initial transaction and horrible experience with Primetime autos just managed to become even worse! When I was buying the car the guy supposedly worked out a payment plan with me and my wife which was supposed to be for an overall set amount over the course of 4 years. What he did though it turns out, the accrued interest he worked in to that plan with us was completely imaginary and turned out to simply be even more inflation added to the overall initial price! I just found out I owe way more than I thought I owed on the vehicle (still). He literally lied and was faking it when he was "calculating" our "payment plan", into an already severely over-inflated price! I just found out that this extra amount was not the interest of the loan as I was lead to believe, it was just more money added to Primetime Auto's initial amount for the loan, and had nothing to do with the interest payments! The interest from the loan company (separate company who had nothing to do with the transaction, only for financing the loan) has been building on top of that initial amount ever since. So by the time the smoke clears I will have paid more than $9,000.00 for a vehicle that only had a blue book value of around $2,000.00 new, but this was a piece of junk that was actually only worth about $800.00 if that. If you add in the $3,000.00 I had to put in to repairs on top of that for the vehicle since I bought it, well shame on me for getting ripped off so badly by these criminals. They're just old fashioned, plain ole' crooks who were looking for a sucker and boy they found one with me. I'm a volunteer first responder and what I do is try to help people. I've been posting all this as an attempt to create some value from this hellish encounter by posting my experiences with Primetime Autos as a warning to others. There's no way out of the loan I'm in, and currently I'm just stuck... By the way, if you study the writing style of the "positive 5-star reviews" that keep appearing on this review board you'll notice that it's the same person writing them even though they try to make themselves appear as different satisfied customers. I hereby accuse Primetime autos in addition to all these other things of falsely generating these positive reviews, to try and offset their overall negative review in an attempt to draw in their next victim no doubt. If you have had similar experiences with Primetime autos and would like to join with me to attempt to sue them please email me at .

I agree with Irene from last year.  These guys were great.  After looking and finding a sought-after, 4-cyclider Rav 4, we worked with Charlie on fixing a few of the kinks on the car that would have been a deal breaker with us.  The negotiation process was smooth and I believe we all got what we wanted.  Raj expedited our paperwork and made sure that we were comfortable with everything.
This was a month ago, the car is running great, and I'm still happy with them.  Do your research and then come and see these guys.

ZERO STARS!!!!! DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT BUY FROM THIS BUSINESS!!! In 15 months I have driven a total of 10K miles, which is almost nothing, and I have spent $6100 in repairs on my used "luxury" car (BMW). Between payments and repairs, I have now spent more in 1 year than the car is worth. Yes... My fault for not properly "kicking the tires" on this LEMON, but BEWARE, the guys here are as shady as they come. Jay will promise you he'll be there to assist you with your car's issues if you should have any (and trust me YOU WILL have issues) but try to reach him after you purchase your car. Good luck is all I can say!!! I've tried reaching Jay for months and months since I purchased the vehicle - He avoids calls and has his staff lie for him. I've even gone back to the lot to wait on days when they assured me he would be there... Like I said, good luck reaching him. All of their cars are purchased from an auction with little to no inspection. They claim to have their own mechanic on staff checking cars, but I have since found out that was a lie also. They fix the bare minimum to get them sold, and it's not clear who they have doing the work!! Within days of purchase I had issues, brake accuator, headlamps (on a BMW, mind you....INSANE cost), water pump, oil leaks, brakes, tires were bald (it was hard to tell on day of purchase and I'll take the blame for the tires...I should have at least checked the GD tires! Shame on me!) - The list goes on, upper radiator hose, alternator... $900 for a new alternator not including labor... passenger side air bag sensor ($850 repair)....   Take CAUTION... Read all of the 1 star reviews - That will be YOU shortly after you purchase from these shady individuals if you do not heed the warnings. These guys should be OUT of BUSINESS. They are DISHONEST, UNTRUSTWORTHY, but more importantly, they sell JUNK with smiles on their faces! I have reported them to the BBB and for anyone who is reading this who was always duped by Jay and his staff, I recommend you ALSO report this place to the BBB.

Bought what "Raj" considered a "safe buy" an 05 Honda Accord. $10,500. I have had it 60 days before the transmission blew. I tried to call for help, only person they say can help is the OWNER- Jay, who spends ALL his time in LA buying more crappy cars to bring back to sell. Called numerous times(4days) never got a call back, Finally i get a hold of JAY and he says bring the car in, i am so sorry that happened we will do our best to fix it. I had my car towed (for the 2nd time) in to their "SHOP". Upon arrival the mechanics knew nothing about my car being brought in.  This is almost a week after my car breaking down. So after trying to get an answer as to where Jay is and WHY he don't answer, i decided to go down the lot i bought it off (they have 2 lots) When i got there they had a few customers, SORRY but i didn't hesitate to inform those potential customers how HORRIBLE the place was.
The sales guy was mad and told me i couldn't talk to his customers, LMAO!!! wait a min I AM A CUSTOMER AND U ALREADY GOT MY $$$. Seeing i wasn't leaving until the infamous JAY got on the phone or contacted me, i continued to stand outside the office. about 30 mins went by and what would you know to my surprise JAY would be here in 30 mins!! FROM LOS ANGELES!!!!??? What kinda jet is he flying ?? Probably one that I PAID FOR!!! NOT! He was NEVER in LA! He  arrived about 45 mins later, but making me go back to his repair shop, so he didn't lose any more business.
After arguing, and crying he finally said he would pay for SOME of the transmission but i had to take responsibility for some of it??!! WHY ???  They DON'T OFFER WARRANTY'S--- i now know why! So i figured that was all i would get out of him and took the deal. Only to find myself again not able to get a hold of him and no return calls.
On FEB 15th I had my car towed for the 3rd time!!! To a repair shop where i found numerous things to be problems, and with a break in the price i'm still out $3500, for the cost of repairs... not just the transmission-GO FIGURE! THIS REPAIR SHOP ALSO HAD A LADY FROM PRIMETIME COME IN WITH MAJOR ISSUES AS WELL!!! And AGAIN JAY no where to be found~!!!! BUT with these court docs i have, I'll be happy to sit an wait to serve him!!! If anyone else wants to join in and make matters worse for him, feel free. I'll bet if WE ALL did this he would not be selling anymore cars,

For what it's worth, we had a wonderful time purchasing a vehicle from Jay. The car we got had initial brake problems, but they took care of the problem when we took the car in. We hope that this car will run as great as it has been, and I will update my review as time goes on to reflect the customer service. I would recommend these guys.

UPDATE 2014:

Our vehicle is still running great, having used it for a few months now without any problems. We have not gone back to the dealership since we purchased the car because there hasn't been a need to.

I wish there was a zero for this.  These people are crooks and liars.  Do not trust them please!  I have filed a complaint with BBB.

It's kind of hard to believe that the only other person who has posted a review here just last month had such a terrible experience because mine last weekend couldn't have been more positive and pleasant.  I had viewed a particular vehicle I was interested in online.  I drove to the dealership, checked it out and test drove it and ended up purchasing it.  The salesmen were courteous and accommodating.  The transaction went very smoothly.  I dealt mostly with Charley at the Fulton Ave. location and he was very easy to deal with.  He said that if I decided to purchase the vehicle that they would replace the center console lid because some of the outer material was worn through.  I also noticed a crack in the upper right hand corner of the windshield and was told that that could be replaced as well.  I did get those promises in writing and yesterday, just one week later, I drove back down to Sacramento and both were taken care of.  Everyone was just as pleasant as they had been the week before.  I have put several hundred miles on the vehicle already and so far no problems.  I was leery about dealing with an all-used car dealer, but my experience at Prime Time was a good one all the way around and I would recommend them to any of my friends.

In June of 2009 The Primetime Autos sold me a 2001 Audi A6 bi-turbo Quattro  with the check engine light on and concealed. The car did not pass smog because the smog technician discovered no illumination of the check engine light. When the speedometer cluster was removed, it was discovered that the check engine light LED was covered with a piece of black sponge. I have heard the check engine light sound since I bought the car in 2009 but I thought it was just the way the car started. The car was getting bad gas mileage and ran as if it was being dragged my husband told me it must be so because Audi A6 bi-turbo is an all wheel drive and heavy, so I never looked into that until the smog day came. The car had a bad torque converter ($3,000 to fix the problem) and bad Bank 1 catalytic converter ($1,800 to replace at the Audi Dealership).
