Reviews on Hertz Car Sales

My husband and I went to the Hertz lot to take a look at a few cars we saw online and wanted to test drive.  We were interested in their option of renting the vehicle for a few days to see if it was a right fit.  First of all, there was nowhere to park.  Second, we were there for at least 20 minutes and while at least three of their employees looked at us, including one who needed to get into the car next to us and asked me to move, not one bothered to greet us or even otherwise acknowledge that we were there to look at their cars.  We decided to leave and see if we could find the same car(s) elsewhere on Fulton.  When we came up emptihanded, I talked my husband into giving them another chance, even if it was solely to test drive the car.  Well, we got there, again, and not one person said anything to us.  Poor business ethic, rude employees, and cars with ridiculously high mileage.  I wouldn't suggest wasting your time here.  Enterprise has the same cars for less and less mileage.

My husband and I drove all the way from Berkeley to buy a 2012 Fiat 500 Sport. And it was worth the drive!

They had a $1000 off promo on all their cars, which was great. We also got additional savings when we asked for a AAA discount. Plus, 1week free car rental from hertz rent-a-car.

The best part about buying from hertz sacramento is the great customer service! JOE was amazing! He is warm and friendly, and made buying a car, a hassle-free experience for us. He even made follow up call to make sure that we were satisfied with our purchase.

We will definitely recommend hertz sacramento to our friends who plan on buying a certified pre-owned.

Killed me.  Paid cash for 2013 Ford Focus.   Drove away with a broken seat belt.  Assuming quick fix by them.  No dice.   Car drove funny and then tranny went out 2 days later.  No rental car from Hertz.  To bad so sad.  NO Service after the Sale!!
Nice Sales guy - too bad he works there.  They had to know this car was a klinker when I drove away - knowing It was covered by the factory warranty.  Still they should test their cars before selling them.  Broken seat belt - come on.  I had to point out several things to them and they let we switch some trim parts off another car - to bad for those folks.   Good luck with these guys.  Maybe I was just that 100 in a hundred but I learned my lesson.  Never again will I even pull in their lot to make a u turn.  Be warned.

I bought a 2013 Prius with 21K miles last week from this Hertz car locations.  I came in 2 consecutive days to inspect the car.  During those 2 days, Fernando was patient and informative.  I was given 2 hours free to take the car to my own mechanic to double check everything.  My car also came with an additional 2 year Toyota engine warranty.  There were a lot scratches and stains outside/inside the car since it was a former rental car; however the Hertz guys promised to clean it up.  When I picked up my car yesterday, all the exterior scratches were gone, the interior scrubbed, they replaced a scratched hubcap, and even replaced the dirty air filter.  The price was cheaper than a dealership and competitive with Craigslist.

Overall, I would only suggest buying a Hertz rental car if it is not a luxury or sports car.  Most rental drivers will abuse horsepower of a luxury/sports car.  A Prius does not have enough horsepower to abuse.

Just purchased a 2012 Toyota Corolla with about 37,000 miles for our 19-year-old daughter to drive. We had an excellent experience primarily because of  our young but knowledgeable salesman, Valentine A.  who provided excellent service. We ended up purchasing the car for about $95 over Bluebook. AAA members may get a discount but you have to ask for it. Valentine knows a lot about cars having worked at a major Automall Dealership. They told us that Hertz only chooses to certify about 50% of the cars retired from the rental fleet. The cars they choose to sell are reconditioned and certified as needed. When in rental fleet they were religiously serviced. The remaining cars go to auction where other car dealers buy them and resell them at a  higher price than Hertz. Also Hertz provided an additional 12/12 warranty which effectively extended our manufacturers 36/36 warranty  to 48/48 because the car we purchased had about 36K miles. There was some minor cleanup of the battery, which was completed satisfactorily in short order as promised. You'll find the usual mix of sales staff at this Hertz. to get the best ask for Valentine, he is knowledgeable, honest and respectful.

Zero stars!  For the " JUNK YARD"!!
Where should I begin! Joe And Kelly and everyone else there are complete jerks and god was with me to not purchase a 2012 Chevy Malibu that joe wanted me to buy on 5/4/13!! They ran my credit and I submitted proof of all income which was more then sufficient because only a month earlier I took that same income to Elk Grove Dogde a Real Dealer" and they approved it through Capital One" they just didn't have many malibus at the moment "to clear the air ok"! Then come to find out
1. They have 250 cars crowded on their small lot!
2. 200 of the cars have all been wrecked after joe pulled the files and trying to look surprised as if he didn't know lol.
3. Joe blurted out my dads credit score in front of all the customers. Then told me to get out because he didn't want to waste time on my application for a family vehicle. Because other customers were entering the junk yard and they rather spend time on them.
4. I had to call the police to get a copy of my credit report that proved my credit was fine. when the police officer got there he seen the junk and called the fire dept. who fined the manager for having too many junk cars on the lot and that was their third warning.
"DONT BUY THESE JUNK CARS These cars are horribly rented and hertz used their insurance to fix the dents then just drop them off at these junk yards for these over weight  unhealthy salesmen to sale.

At first, I was impressed with the price and car purchased from Hertz Car Sales, but over a short period of time I knew I got fucked by Hertz and their sales people.

The Hertz sales office in Sacramento offered a great price, good financing, but no follow up and very little opportunity to return the Infiniti M37 because they knew the car was in defective condition, but did not disclose it to me as required by DMV.

I bought a Infiniti M37 WITH 20K MILES that would not hold a battery charge after prolonged parking in my garage. I took the  car to an authorized Infiniti in Roseville and they gave me some STUPID excuse after replacing the battery at my expense. The car continued to run out of juice within a week. I had to have the Infiniti jump started by AAA over five times, twice in the Bay Area.

I finally sold the 2011 Infiniti M37. I will never do business with Hertz Car Sales or Infiniti again. Both corporation conspire to cheat buyers by offering inferior cars at low prices to the detriment of motorists everywhere.

I purchased my Chevrolet Equinox from Hertz a week ago today.  The transaction was painless, honest, and hassle-free.  I would not hesitate to return for another vehicle in the future.  They accepted my trade-in for a fair price, too.

My compliments to the older gentleman salesman. We arrived just as you were closing and you were more than willing to talk to us in regards to the car we were looking at. It was a very hot day and I am sure you wanted to go home, you know how to treat customers and also you know your job, you answered every question we had, you were kind and courteous from start to finish of our visit. Because time was out I decided to call it a day but will be back to view other cars here because of my positive experience.

Bought a car here, and they seemed pretty good. The car had a scratch that they said they would fix, and they kept their word. The guy actually buffed like half the car.

I think they could have done more prep work on the vehicles first, but the prices are much better than the dealer. Although it might makea difference when you sell your car. I think I will still be ahead.

Overall a very good deal with no bargaining to be done. The prices are already set, and take it or leave it. I saved 25% over the dealer price, and just had to detail it myself.

I would recommend them, but look at getting a factory warranty if you can. It is a better deal and provides better protection for the money.
