Reviews on German Motors

charged 225.+ for ONE control arm when I can get BOTH control arms PLUS sway bars links for $145 on Ebay

Does this seem fair to you?

German Motors has always taken great care of my Z4M. They have kept it in great shape.
Regardless of the wear and tear I put on the vehicle, every time I get it back it feels new again. Anyone with a BMW knows the sheer joy of hammering the accelerator, and these guys make sure that smile returns each time I crank the ignition.
They've done my filters, oil changes, tires, spark plugs, balancing and alignment, and repair on the S54 Vanos oil pump. All the expertise from BMW certified mechanics, with a much more personal relationship.
Wouldn't take my M series anywhere else.

These guys rock!  They always get my car in promptly and the problems resolved at reasonable prices.  Thanks!

Very happy with the service I have received at German Motors. Fair prices and I appreciate being reminded of future needed repairs so that I can plan / budget.

I noticed another reviewer mentioned the convenience of extended hours and a friendly towing service that will invoice through German Motors. I have taken advantage of both and concur that the convenience was a real stress reliever.

I recommend German Motors without reservation. Steve and Ralph will take care of you with respect and competence.

Well I needed an estimate. I already had one but I usually will get 2 or 3. This place was $100.00 more for the same repair. No thanks.

I must say that this is the most honest and best shop around town to take your European cars too. Steve and Ralph not only deliver but they do so with pride and a smile. They took their time to repair my car in stages and made sure to not just throw repairs out there and see if it sticks.. Hands down best shop around give them a chance and you will be completely satisfied with the job the first time around..
Thanks again Steve and Ralph you have a customer for as long as I own a BMW..

I found them on Yelp and was happy about the high star rating. Ralph was friendly on the phone despite me calling 10 min before closing. My car was broken down about 2 miles away so he recommended a tow service he does business with. They were also very nice & billed through the garage.

My car was at German Motors very early the next morning. Repair began quickly. Car was ready by lunchtime.

Here's what's important:
- They arranged for me to drop off the key after closing time. (Employee was working late & was expecting me out back.)
- They did only the repairs I came in for.
- They pointed out that my wheels were out of alignment and my tires were worn and suggested fixing them (without being pushy).
- Their price was very reasonable. No upsells or add-on costs. Came in below estimate.
- Relationship with the towing company enabled me to pay entire bill in one place.
- They did the repair very quickly. Job well done.

That's all you need, right? Highly recommended.

Was referred to German Motors by Stewarts Auto & I couldn't be happier! I reversed out of my parking spot this morning and scraped my passenger side along a white wooden pole which left white paint on the side of my car. I was soooo scared it would be an expensive fix as most are on my LR2 and was very nervous about going to a new place. I spoke with Steve & Ralph, both we're very helpful. I'm not sure who helped me when I arrived, I believe it was Steve. He got the paint off my car in 15 minutes during my lunch break FREE OF CHARGE! I will definatly be back to fix my dents/scratches in the New Year. I had a great first experience, I will be back & I will recommend GM in the future. Thank you GM!!!

I used GM's services years ago and only stopped using their services when I moved away from the area. I'm back in the area now and will likely be using Steve's services from time to time, again. It's not very often that a person meets some truly fantastic European auto mechanics who can communicate very thoroughly on just about any topic. Recently, I was used car shopping for my daughter, trying to locate another VW Passat or Jetta... or possibly an Audi quattro that would meet my standards of reliability along with service records..etc. After entering the never-ending abyss of used car shopping and test driving private party's un-kept cars, I finally located a "clean" Passat at a small used car lot not far from GM's shop and thought the car was OK. It was not OK and it was not as "clean" as I thought. It turned out to be a hunk of junk after I requested a car inspection on it by German Motors. Steve is very knowledgeable and so is his staff. They found out that it would need at least $2,500 worth of work/repairs to get it to where it needed to be to be reliable and safe. I was humbled after finding out that the car needed that much work. During the process of the VW Passats car inspection process, Steve had mentioned that he had his daughters BMW for sale at a reasonable price. After finding out the results of the car inspection on the Passat and being tired of used car shopping and only finding thrashed vehicles for sale, I ended up buying the BMW and it is one of the best buying experiences I have ever had!

I've had all of my car (German and Japanese mfrs) serviced and repaired at German Motors for the past 25 years. I chose to go there over the BMW dealership because of the outstanding customer service, quality service and I love the fact Ralph and Steve (the owners and service writers) know the vehicle, look at the service records and remember exactly what was going on with each of my cars. Ralph takes the time to explain things to me in very simple terms so as a non-expert I can actually comprehend what is going on with my car. Lets face it, very reasonable pricing is also a major factor. They always encourage preventative maintenance while never trying to up-sell me on things I don't need. But they bring things to my attention about areas that could be troublesome in the future. Some of the other reviewer comments are totally spot on--the culture is a bit old world Europe, the customer service area doesn't have some of the latest amenities like free wifi to help the time pass but at the end of the day it is about having the latest equipment and the high trained and skilled mechanics to fix my car right the first time and make sure I am safe on the road.

Steve is the owner and as honest as they come. Great quality service, reasonable prices and most importantly, knowing that you are not being ripped off. Highly, highly recommended!!
My only regret is that I didn't take my car in there for previous auto repairs that I needed.

Steve, is the owner and very good. Great place to bring my Audi. Never feel like I'm getting ripped off and MUCH less expensive that going to the dealership. Would recommend for anyone with a German import.

Excellent service. Have been taking my BMWs here for over 10 years. They are always up front about what has to be taken care of and what can wait and what I should plan for based on mileage, which really helps for budgeting.

The same mechanics are always there, which is great. They don't seem to have very much turnover at all. The owner, Steve, runs the front desk. I like the consistent service. I highly recommend them.

Just German Motors... its in the name! I have know these guys for 20 years. They do work the old fashioned way... they break it down and build it back up... grease and all. The owners and men who work here are from the 'old country" part of Europe and know these cars like no body else...

One day I asked Joe, if he had any choice between the makes... and he said BMW over Audi any day of the week. good info if I ever win the lottery to afford a German Car!

They have taken care of my 1988 BMW 528e pretty well now for about 5 years.
