on thursday  23rd, i went to kia of los angeles, to see if i can buy a car that ,i got there to see the car i want it to buy , the sales person that help me that day was extremely pushy he want me  to buy what he said he offer 2 cars that really i did not like there were not o.k for me... when i said none of yours cars i like i want a optima , the sales person said i would ask my manager to see if we can get you the optima from i said ok,, after awhile both of them came back and said before we can bring you the car you have to agree on the numbers, i said the numbers that means i have to commit ( they said oh no) you do not have to buy if you do not like it,, then i said its fine, do the numbers, i guest those who are in the market to buy a car should know how this feel , they come and go ask quetions , are you o.k with this or o.k with that . i do not recall who it was , sales representative manager, but he kept on saying , you got very good taste on this type of cars..... after 20 min or 30 min they came back to me and said you know what the we cant give u the optima cause ur credit is really  low to get loan for 30,000 ,680 670 685 in the three major agency  and they try to push me to get kia rio o forte , can you believe that, then i said on my mind thank you you wasted my time  and yours ..  after that he said give another look to our inventory, i said no, i just want to get out there..  i will not recommend this dealership. i end up with more than one hard credit inquires on my credit report....  it was just a waste..  ..

Kia of Downtown is absolutely AMAZING!! They really work with you to get the best deals and prices that work for you. I went in looking to buy my first car and I naturally was nervous. My credit was not great and I did not have a large down payment, but Andre Abedian (sales manager) reassured all my doubts and worked his magic and I got an offer I couldn't pass! During the wait for the offer I was getting discouraged BUT Andre turned it around and made my day!! Jimmy the car salesman was awesome too! He sat and waited with us making the wait less stressful. He even drove me to the bank so I can take cash out! (So nice!) and Iris Kwon was the perfect last person to work with! She made signing all the tedious paperwork less tedious and kept a pleasant conversation going with my dad and I. And explained all the details perfectly, so I can fully understand as a first time buyer.

I'm in love with my 2015 Kia Forte! THANK YOU DOWNTOWN KIA!

Bought a Kia Soul on Satruday. Max did an excellent job in explaining all the features and answered all of my questions and concerns.  Got a good deal from my trade in and an awesome deal from finance. They were able to work out a great payment plan. I'm very satisfied with the level of service i received and will definitely recommend Kia of Downtownn to anyone that is interested in purchasing or leasing a Kia. I am extremely happy with my new Kia Soul,  thanks again.

First off, I owe these guys HUGE for the next couple years, and I don't mind it at all. Coming in i basically had no credit, and no experience in purchasing a new car,but Andre, Reza, and Ariel definitely made the whole experience much easier and much more pleasant. I came in with a beat up 2012 forte and left with a brand new 2015! Not only did they go out of their way to help me get an amazing deal, they were also really attentive to my girlfriend and I, always asking if we wanted something to drink or snack on. If you're in the market for a new car or trying to fix your current situation, I definitely recommend coming to this spot and looking for the guys i mentioned, they'll make the whole experience worthwhile! Thanks again guys

First of all if there was an option for no star I would rate no stars.. I called a week early to make my appointment for an oil change it was at 10 am .. I drove all the way from Rancho Cucamonga and they come up with this shit that it's a 3 to 4 hr wait ha!!!!!!!
Really! WTF  I told the tall guy my appointment is at 10am and he had the audacity to tell me first come first serve and not just that he was training some other guy and showing him how to work there and then another big Mexican guy comes out with a mechanic uniform tells me the same thing first come first server WOW!
I was pisst what is the point of making an appointment if your not going to grant that appointment
I prefer to pay for my oil change then to ever go back again with you guys no other Kia does this shit but you guys I will take this issue further and contact corporate and let them know the way I was treated and how you guys do business
Very bad experience.

Nance Y. | 2015-04-10

My Sorento finally went in for it's first oil change and Ara in Service always takes care of us. My husband and I enjoy his bubbly personality and always leave satisfied. My husband's optima went for it's second service already and we will always do business with Ara. I highly recommend him and all the men in the previous review. Big thank you to him and all the men in the department. We appreciate your great work ethic.

Justin S. | 2015-04-09

I feel jipped. I have a bumper to bumper warranty that evidently doesn't cover road hazard damage... alright. My tire popped and the rim got bent. Tire replacement and rim replacement 640$. Wonderful. For a car that is less than a month old this sure sucks. What was worse maybe is that I have been here for 3 hours now and still don't have my car back. Very upset.

Karyna S. | 2015-04-09

My lease is coming to an end and decided to come in and check out what kia of downtown had to offer. I had previously leased my first car from car pros Kia of Carson, I had a horrible experience there and realized I lost a lot of money with them, I came in with my guard up! First time I came in they really helped me out but wasn't at the price I was looking for. I received a call 4 days later saying that Jason could help me out. I came in and met with Jason. Very nice personable sales man! I told him what I wanted, they were able to get me into a 2015 Kia Optima hybrid for less than what I was paying for my 2012 Kia Optima ex! At the end of the day I am very pleased with my service! JASON was a very nice and understanding sales person! Really listened to what I had to say, I truly recommend anyone to go see him! I will definitely be recommending my family to go there.

Decided to randomly visit Downtown Kia after a busy day of work and was pleasantly greeted by one of the sales associates. He showed me and my aunt around then took us for a test drive in a Kia Forte. I immediately loved it and signed the appropriate paperwork. The true star of all of this though is Khal ElBatsh from the finance department. He took 45 minutes on the phone with various banks to get me the best deal possible. Knowing that made my wait much easier. After going through everything I happily signed on the dotted line. I walked away from the dealer with a brand new Kia Forte and a pleasant experience.

**NOTE** Khal to this day has made himself available to me and has answered all of my questions.

So to sum it all up I guess you can say I got the whole package. A warm welcome, GREAT customer service, and an AMAZING deal. The car was a nice bonus ;)

Fabiola A. | 2015-03-31

Bappy was the best so friendly and helpful John Navarro is a great manager answered all my questions Musa was great friendly and fun and Andre made it happen thank you to this great team I feel great in my brand new car !

Yanette M. | 2015-03-31

Horrible! I came to get my first oil change. I made an appointment a week in advance for 8 am on a Tuesday. I came in 10 minutes prior to my appointment and was checked in immediately so I assumed okay great, quick service. The gentlemen that checked me in was very nice but mentioned he was not my service advisor. Okay so it's 11 am, 3 hours after my appointment and I didn't have any news on the status of my car. Finally, I find out who my service advisor isand I approached him and asked my status. He goes on to tell me it is finally being seen and it will take a hour to a hour and a half longer to complete. SERIOUSLY?! Even with an appointment?!! I understand if they communicated with me on the wait beforehand but it should not take 5 hours for an oil change and tire rotation. When I was obviously annoyed, they didn't apologize but just replied with a "it always takes about 3 hours". Okay, wow. Came in at 7:50 am and le

Warning! Do not buy a car from this Kia dealership. Do your self a favor and drive to Glendale were you will be treated with respect. At every turn the sales reps and manager tried to screw me over. My advise if you are in the market for a car is to get a true car price and lock it down. Then call the dealership and confirm that that car is on the lot. Once there test drive the car and if you like it it yours at the locked price.

James K. | 2015-03-29

I bought a Kia Sorrento here.  These guys worked with me to get the car I wanted.  Octavio especially was a huge help.  He is a rock star car salesman!  Ask for him- Octavio Camarillo!

Karen M. | 2015-03-28

Again amazing service!  Cruz at the service department was very attentive. Jay the service manager went above and beyond for my customer satisfaction. ! Thanks again for a wonderful experience:)

Aaron H. | 2015-03-27

Service experience is horrible.  They make you wait in your car illegaled park in an active street.  The line backs up far enough that if you are at the end of the line you diminished to have your car sitting on an active cross street.  When service is done they will again park your car illegal in the street with your blinkers on.  Total time for a oil change was 3.5 hours. See photos to see the wait.  I am surprised no one has been injured by their negligence.  Also surprised they do not see a safely issues with cars backed up so far they stick out on a busy cross street.

John D. | 2015-03-27

This Kia of downtown is good but has some issue to work.... I will say they honor a price quote online which was a great price. The staff I worked with was very good.
A few thing to work on are
1. Have a car on the lot when you have an apt.....
2. One of the employs told me buy water when I wanted some which is fine but 10 min latter my sales agent gave me free water....
3. That about it...  It was very nice dealership.... It bets many San Diego dealer out of the water.... Great job guys.

Leticia A. | 2015-03-25

Wow the service here is so bad unfortunately this is the only place I can come in with the package of a free oil change. If I only had known. I think no more Kia for me in the future. Cars are nice but the service is so bad, the quality  of  my time is nicer. 5 to 6 hr wait for service or part change, I think I'll try something different next time car shopping comes around. :/

Mia S. | 2015-03-25

This is the second time I got a car here. They always work hard for me and I appreciate it. It was a miracle I drove off in an optima hybrid. I love it!  I never knew a hybrid was this much better on gas!  Whoo hoo!  Shouts to Andre, Reza, Fatima and Ara!  Thank you guys!

Karinah M. | 2015-03-22

So! I came in to refinance my Kia Forte 2014 and I left with a Kia Optima 2015!

These guys are awesome! They will help you and they will make sure you get the car you want!

Don't second guess yourself into coming here, it's a must!

Aley M. | 2015-03-19

Recently purchased a 2014 Kia Optima with Great help and awesome service from Octavio and I think his manager Joseph they both were straight to the point my partner and I felt NO PRESSURE what so ever and made us feel comfortable thank you guys!!!

Lizette R. | 2015-03-17

I got very lucky to have worked with Jimmy. He genuinely wants the best for the customer and has your best interest at heart. He goes out of his way to make sure you are comfortable with everything and is very thorough through the process. He gives great advice and will make sure to do the best he can to make you leave with a good deal. If you decide to go to this KIA make sure you ask for Jimmy. He'll be very honest with you and will answer all your questions as well as give some suggestions if you're feeling overwhelmed! He's got your back. Great guy.

Kevin M. | 2015-03-14

I am a proud new owner of a 2015 Kia Soul +.  If you're looking at the soul, I really recommend taking either of the higher two trims because there is a big difference with the engine.

I want to thank all of the employees at Kia who helped with this transaction.  There were many involved who helped make it happen.  Tom, a genuinely fair and nice man, helped initiate the transaction and made sure his other employees knew how to help me.  Tom is someone who wants to treat his customers well and really values how they feel when they leave.  Radi made sure I had a good APR to finance my vehicle and I honestly believe him when he said he wanted me to leave happy.  Sure, they may be a business, and all businesses have to look out for themselves to a certain extent, but Kia downtown helped me through my first financing of a car and made me believe in the integrity that should be the auto sales industry.  Jimmy is a hard working guy who will run around and make sure he's doing everything he can to help.  He's also a down to earth guy you can just talk to.  Aris and George follow the same characteristics as the other employees and go above and beyond to make sure the customer is satisfied and comfortable with his or her purchase. The guys in financing are funny and in an upbeat mood when they're filling out paper work with you.

My advice to those in search of a Kia is to really do your research before entering the store and come in knowing what you're looking to try out, etc., etc.  If you want to buy a car at an affordable price, Kia downtown will work with you to make that happen.  You will have to work with them too, but in the end you will find that employees at Kia professional, attentive, and reasonable people.  Plus they have pretty good popcorn there if you haven't had lunch or dinner, and it's free!

Denise G. | 2015-03-13

Considered buying a kia from them but after I dropped in one day to see numbers and was told by I believe the manager Sammie to next time make an appointment and not just pop in like I did that day, And he was just rude all around making it seem like they were gonna do me the favor of getting me a car, please! I took my 10,000 dollar down payment and went somewhere else. Buying a car sometimes isn't planned it's a spontaneous thing to bad u lost my sale. I might be young but I mean business.

Beatriz R. | 2015-03-12

Well sales person being a typical machista, being all sexist. I might be a woman and not know as much about cars but i did make research and had questions to ask. It was as if i was invisible, the sales person did not answer one of my questions, he just kept talking and talking, and he would only directly talk to my bf. i was sitting right next to the dealer, my partner was outside the car yet he overlooked me and never made eye contact. i had to ask my partner to ask him my questions and hed probably answer it. So dumb, you should cater to both genders, you never know who is actually making the purchase. Im not going to buy from someone who thinks less of me. Good luck making sales to women with that sort of approach!

John B. | 2015-03-10

Anybody that goes to this service center I recommend you see my boy Ara G. Coolest dude there!! I've been using their services since I bought my 1st kia back in 2012.

Judy W. | 2015-03-08

When you make an appointment, the car gets serviced as it was promised.
Khalil, thanks for your great service! Appreciate your kindness and understanding customer's perspective.  All the best!

Barry V. | 2015-03-05

my service advisor Khalil was excellent remembered my name from a past visit which made me feel very comfortable took my car in and had it back to me within the time quoted
offered to have it washed but I had to decline due to time restraints maybe next time.  From past dealings with other service facilities (non KIA) this will go down as the best I have ever been treated by a service facility and really strengthen the reason I bought KIA Great sales staff and EXCELLENT customer service thank you Khalil for your great service

Catherine M. | 2015-03-05

Everyone, especially the service representative, was very friendly.

Elona B. | 2015-03-02

We went to Kia downtown to buy a car.  Low and behold, we ran into the best sales person ever (this is our 7 new car buying experience) so believe we can make this statement.
Gilmar, Sales Rep for this company not only has what it takes to be a great sales person but his personality, his patience, his demeanor besides his professionalism make this process so easy and comfortable for us.  He know his information about the car, its parts, the performance and the comparison will the car in its class and was well versed and carried on intelligently as he made the sales.  He was not one of the sales people that are smooth talker but just has a outstanding personality and will get him going a long way in this business.

Congratulation Gilmar and keep up the good work. Will send you any recommendation for car buy that comes our way.

Jonathan P. | 2015-02-27

On Wednesday night I came into the car lot at Kia of downtown trying to find my ideal car, I was immediately greeted by Jimmy, we spoke about the models Kia had to offer, new and pre-owned, Jimmy gave me a good general run down of each car from what was included in each model to the EPA mileage and warranty, Jimmy encourage me test drive several cars till I found the one that best fitted my needs before moving forward with anything else, once inside we spoke of payments and the down payment based on what I could afford Jimmy did his best to work with me and my financial situation after a couple mins he found me one of the certified pre owned cars I was interested in for a great price with very low miles I was surprise on the deal and car he found me and on the effort He and the rest of the people at Kia put into finding me the right car for the right price, all n all my buying experience was great, Jimmy went above and beyond to work with me and delivered great customer service.
If you're a new buyer, trying to find a new car or are in need of a car go to Kia of downtown, regardless of your financial situation, Jimmy and the rest of the staff  at Kia of Downtown will work for YOU

Pamela A. | 2015-02-25

This dealership is a joke. Don't buy a car here. Especially if you are a woman. They will treat you like you don't know anything and try to intimidate you into taking a ridiculous deal. This dealership obviously caters to people who are in a bind and feel they need to pay a huge amount in order to finance a car. When they ran my credit, they brought me someone else's credit report and tried to convince me that it was mine. They also gave me a bogus number for the payments, refused to work up a deal with numbers for me to take with me to review and were generally rude. When I stated I wanted GPS in the vehicle and included in the price, the sales manager picked up my phone showed it to me and said in a stern way, "Why do you need GPS? This is your GPS. Everyone uses their phones anyway. You don't need GPS." I looked at him in disbelief and said, "I do. I use my GPS all the time. I need it for my job since I'm on the road for work."  He seemed surprised by that. Yes- women work and they earn money and they spend it, but not where they are treated poorly. At that point, I was done with these people. The sales people at this dealership are unprofessional and the customer service is poor. They acted like they were doing me a favor by taking my business.

Iltze G. | 2015-02-24

Went in on a Saturday, super busy but was able to get a good car deal on the car I wanted!! So happy with my new Kia Soul and couldn't be happier with the service Moussa provided and man did he work to get me a deal that I would be  happy with. Ever need to buy a car to see MOUSSA!! Very patient man and willing to go to the extend to make you happy with your car purchase!!

Jae L. | 2015-02-17

I recently leased 2014 sportage... But i have not received my vehicle for 4 days! So i gave bad review and the sales guy MAr*in called and harassed me 9am in the morning!

The story is this. I went to go get a car there and the vehicle i wanted was the last one and it had a little manufacture damage
So i let them fix and bring it to me

The sales guy Mar*in said it would be ready in couple days , then he called to say it wont be ready till the next day noon so i said okay. I tried going there late around 3 since i wanted to give them more time.
When i got there he car was not even at the service center and it was all the way in different city!! After wasting couple hours at the service center for my NeW CAR, i went home . They promised they will will bring the car to me or bring me to the car.

After  couple hours around 5pm kia called and said the driver already left to come get me . My house is only 2.3 miles away. It took them 4 hours to get to my house . They called around 9:30 to say that they are here.
Apparently they sent a second driver because the first one didn't bring a phone and waited in front of my apartment like a dummy!

When i finally got my car the next day, it was fixed but
It didn't have a full tank of gas
They drove my car to a different city so it had extra mileage on it!!!!
( i asked to take those 35 miles off the record and they said they cant !!!)

In the end, kia downtown wasted 3-4 days of my life!!!!
Did horrible customer service , the sales people are only super eager to sell sell sell
And do not care about other peoples customer weather they"ve been waiting for an hour or not

In the end the sales guy called and yelled at me for giving him a bad review!!!

As a customer , i didn't know sales guy can call and yell at a customer WTF?!

Never go here!!! If you do never ask for a korean sales person, i think he is the only one there.

Nora R. | 2015-02-09

Very happy with my Kia purchase. The team (Armando, Andre, & Khal) were very helpful and gave me a great deal! They were very friendly and made sure I was very comfortable with everything during my purchase. There was no pressure to buy, and instead of waking away, I left in a new Kia Sorento! I love this car! As a native Angeleno, I think it has great handling, very comfortable, and awesome features like the rear camera and smart phone integration. The best value and class for the price. If you're looking to buy...definitely consider a Kia!

Tony B. | 2015-02-07

Complete un professional.  Saturday asked them to turn down the music.  Blaring loud.  No response from management.

Alan R. | 2015-02-06

First time at Downtown Kia and I must say I was very impressed. I was greeted right away upon arrival by Nancy and then Walter my service advisor. I needed some minor warranty work done and an oil change. Walter was very helpful, honest and upfront about everything and I was out of there in no time. I will definitely be back!

Glo A. | 2015-02-05

Tom,  thank you for your personal assistance in this whole lemon Kia situation, without it we would still be waiting on the big guys at the factory to make their decision. You were instrumental in this and for that, we are grateful. It is so unfortunate that this occurred because in reality we were actually pleased with our original service and with our Kia. Sadly due to this experience, as much as we would like to get in a new Kia, we are going with something else. Please thank your staff as well on our behalf for going out of their way to help anyway they could.
God bless

Hassan S. | 2015-02-05

Denise M. | 2015-02-04

I was just at kia downtown la and just purchased my k900. I love it. The service was amazing. They were all so very nice and helpful
I highly suggest giving them a try when you are ready for your next new car or pre owned. They have a huge selection better than any other stores I have been to.

Soleil K. | 2015-02-04

This is solely a review of the lovely Victor from the service department.

After waiting for far too long for a lift home, he drove me and had such a warm personality that I completely forgot about the long wait. I usually don't make small talk on those drives but this was an exception.

Upon my return to pick up my car from service & detail, again Victor showed up to fine tune the detailing, going above & beyond to make it just so.

He was the most personable and hardworking employee I encountered and I hope Kia recognizes him and appreciates him!

Kelly B. | 2015-02-04

By far the best customer service I have ever experienced. Bass, and all the other guys working were not only amazing and helpful, but fun and made me laugh. They sold me a beautiful car with a deal I could not refuse. Thank you Kia!

Jose H. | 2015-02-02

My first oil change service went a lot better than expected. After reading negative reviews on the duration of oil change and other services I was skeptical about taking my  Optima in to this location. I purchased my vehicle from this location so I wanted to have my own experience.
As I drove up to the Kia service center, the assistant   directed me to park inside. I was promptly helped by Cruz. He gave me an estimated wait time so I then went into the waiting area. ( Television, Drink/Snack Vending Machines, Best of all, WiFi)
Cruz kept me up to date with the status of my vehicle. The service took shorter than the estimated wait time. Before I knew, I was driving off. I received a free  car wash as well.
All the staff was professional. From the assistant, to Cruz, to the staff in the waiting area, and lastly, to the person bringing my car around to the the front.
Thanks DTLA KIA for a memorable service experience.

@Yelpers complaining about long duration of service:

For prompt service, choose a date and time where there isn't a high volume of people waiting to have their vehicles serviced. Preferably some time early in the week. The weekend would most likely be bad timing.

Adrienne B. | 2015-01-29

Cruz and Ara were great.  I waited for my service a little longer than I expected but once everything was taken care of, I was happy in the long run.  My Optima is running great and I am another satisfied customer with Kia of down town LA.

Mirelle M. | 2015-01-27

I would give -2 stars (MINUS!)  if I could - I am appalled and disgusted by the racist, sub-human treatment I received at this dealership last Fri. My fiance had a flat tire at 4:00 pm about 1 mile away from the dealership, it took 2.5 hours for the Kia Roadside Assistance tow truck to come, he was towed to the dealership and at 7:00 pm was told the tire had a nail in it, it could not be patched or fixed and he would have to pay $125 for a new tire within the next half hour, before their service department closed for the evening. The person who examined our vehicle picked up on my fiance's accent, asked him which country he was from, then proceeded to insult him and tell him how much he hated that country. The other staff were too busy making fun of other customers to actually do their jobs.

I spoke with Mel in service who was an utter dimwit, could barely string a sentence together and is in dire need of customer service training. When he didn't have an answer or could not accommodate my request to pay via credit card over the phone, instead of checking with a superior or finding someone else who may know the answer he became rude, talked back, and refused to help me.

So I called the sales department of the dealership, where I got Ryan on the phone. I told Ryan I understood he was in sales and I was probably speaking with the wrong department, but could he possibly transfer me to someone who could help out with service billing. Ryan had no interest whatsoever in helping out or transferring the call, I asked to please speak with a manager at which point Ryan jokingly and condescendingly told me "You know what, I'll transfer you to someone even more powerful than a manager who can definitely help you out - the receptionist. Hahahaha" at which point I was not in fact transferred to the receptionist, but to an automated survey. I called back, Ryan answered again, I told Ryan I didn't appreciate his attitude or feeling tricked and could he please transfer me to the receptionist for real this time. Ryan responded by mocking me and mimicking my sing-song voice but, to his credit, he actually transferred the call to the receptionist. I didn't get her name but she was the most normal and respectful person I spoke with and I was very grateful to her for connecting me with the Director of the Service department, Jay.

Jay seemed to be the only competent person working that night, he was pleasant, helpful, and creative. Instead of saying no, can't help you, he could actually think outside of the box and figure out a solution for me.

My fiance called me to let me know he was taking care of everything, a new tire was being put on and it seemed like we were finally done with this ridiculous 4 hour nightmare for a simple tire change. I could hear a male voice in the background, one of the employees yelling into the phone and interrupting our conversation with "DON'T GET MARRIED, DON'T DO IT MAN, I'M TELLING YOU DON'T MARRY HER". WTF??!!!

I have been a proud Kia owner and driver for the past 2 years. My experience here on 1/23/15 has left me appalled, disgusted and embarrassed to drive a Kia and be associated with this dealership.

I hope this review helps other people.  I scheduled an appointment to service my cadenza which has two year free service. When I got there I saw KAL service writer wanted to charge me $129 for oil and filter. I told him I had free oil changes. Went and got my car out of service and said I didn't and handed me my keys to leave. I came to car pros kia right after and just finished my free service.  Be aware to those who visit downtown kia. KAL is a very dishonest person.  I would never go there  again.

This is the second car I've leased from Kia.  Everyone was so helpful.  I felt like everyone really cared and went out of their way to make me happy.  A small issue was resolved promptly.  Thanks Andre Abedian, Bass Balaa, Tom Awada and everyone else on your team!!!   You're amazing and I will not hesitate to recommend your dealership!

Joyce W. | 2015-01-18

I am from San Jose and was visiting family in LA when I had problems with my car.  Khalil (Kal) was very professional, courteous and kept me well informed throughout my experience at the service center. He also got me a loaner car which enabled me to drive back to San Jose with my kids as we had originally planned; this was a huge relief because I didn't have to change my schedule or have to deal with getting a rental car. I also felt that the repairs were done in a short time frame and at a reasonable cost.  Overall I am very satisfied with the services received and I have already mentioned it to a few friends and family.

would not recommend this place..  they wasted 6 hours of my precious time.. i first went to "joseph" sales mgr... i specifically told him i didnt want to deal with a sales person and the first thing he did was give me a sales person to show me the car...  i went to and found the car i wanted.. after choosing the vehicle which i never test drove i sat with anna and joseph who kept going back to "the tower" came back and told me i was getting a "tom" deal he said the only person whos  going to make money was the general manager... well they did everything possible to not give ne that deal....  i walked out of there....  the very next day i went to cerritos auto square and purchased a toyota/scion i was in and out of there in 2 1/2 hours...
dont deal with small dealers ready to maje a quick buck... oh one more thing...  they told at this dealer my apr would be 19%  i got 0.9% at toyota.....  beware of unprofessional scam artist.....

Great place great service friendly people I have gotten 2 Optimas and 1 Sorento from this place and let me tell you they have great service here all the time its been easy process  never hurts to just stop by and take a look if you don't like you don't buy right ? Give it a try people

Kimberly G. | 2015-01-08

Brought car in for service appointment. Waited 40 minutes for them to help me. When I finally got them to come get my information they say they can't help because no mechanics currently working can deal with any of the issues I brought it in for. If the receptionist would have allowed me to speak to the service people before making an appointment they would have known this and I wouldn't have wasted my time.

And seriously none of the mechanics on duty can adjust the headlight position. many degrees does that take....

WORST SERVICE EVER! Called kia of DTLA I spoke w a sale man named Ryan this guy was misleading and deceitful on top of being really rude he had the nerve to tell my wife ( why do you look bothered yes you have a face that looks bothered) are you kidding me this guy really needs to get a different job because he does not know how to treat people w respect. i told ryan i was not pleased w his help and ask to speak to someone else to add to our frustrations we were transfered to another Ryan who was his manager who turned out to be just as worst this man was short w me he did look intrested in helping understand and answer my question furthermore, he told me to wait for a minute and did not return for over a half hour a was done dealing w this horrible customer service. Ended up going to Hundai Cerrito met with a great sales man named Jim Mistry who was awesome he really help me w answering all my questions and helped get a great deal on a 2015 sonata am really happy and 100% satisfied w Hundai!

Adrian Cerna was the best!!! He made my car buying experience awesome. I went to this dealership because it was the closest when going through the costco auto program. He was excellent by explaining the difference between the optima's. He made my experience more calm and relaxed. I was worried due to knowing how it is with car shopping/buying experiences. He made me feel very comfortable and this dealership was awesome. Alan was great as well. The finance manager Chris knew exactly what he was doing when it came to numbers. They had 2 in stock of the color, all the extra packages, and what I wanted. It was great to know they had it in stock. I would definitely recommend people to come to this KIA. I had a wonderful experience and I love my new car!!!!!!!!!

I went down to Kia of Downtown LA with my Wife to get her Car looked over, and we got excellent service from a Henry Saab who's a Sales Consultant.  He helped my Wife with all of her questions about her newly purchased Kia, and it's nice to be helped by extremely compitent people who go out of their way to serve you.

LM V. | 2014-12-31

Salesperson Juan and Finance Person Chris did an amazing job to get me the best rate for the car that I wanted. They are friendly and experts. I did not feel nervous at all. The tranaction went smoothly and I got the car of my choice!

Romel E. | 2014-12-26

Came here for an oil change and my buddy decided to cross the street (to the dealership) in order to check out his lease to purchase options. We worked with Art Saleh and Joseph Vanegas. Both gentlemen were extremely accommodating and they worked hard to get my buddy a good deal. He left the dealership a proud owner of his vehicle, with an excellent APR, and with a life time of free oil and filter changes! I hope these two gentlemen are still working here when I'm ready to talk about my lease to purchase options.

AJ K. | 2014-12-22

My brother bought a scion frs here and while the dealership did take 4 hours the salespeople were very friendly with us. There were some miscommunication but was fixed rather easily. Fatima rather really helped us out with everything and was very helpful and kind and both Ryans were also helpful. Overall it was a nice experience and we got what we wanted but it did quite lag by taking four hour.

Tuesdays H. | 2014-12-19

Crap service. I get that car salesmen are like vultures as it is, but still. I was lied to far too many times. I bought a Kia Sorento last Saturday... after 8 hours of hell. 1st, I asked specifically for a dark colored Sorento with leather seats. That simple. However, I was instead shown two many vans, 3 other car options and all of them were terrible!!!! So I finally got annoyed as I and my 1 yr old child had already been sitting there for hours before they even ran my credit so I threatened to leave. At that point... finally Reza (the salesman) pulls up in exactly what I asked for. Which was good. But the fact that I had to talk to a manager and then put my kid in my car and start the engine before they magically "FOUND" what I wanted was irritating. Then, even though Reza initially told me that I would have 4 weeks before I had to put down a deposit, suddenly he comes back to me saying that management would like me to put something down that day. More irritation, but I gave him 1000$ anyway.
So after a few more hours of patience/hunger/waiting, I finally get to the paperwork portion. I was sped through the signing process and honesty... I was so hungry I couldn't pay attention anyway. So whatever. After the hour long paperwork process, I was finally ready to leave. I ask Reza for the spare key to the car and he tells me he will find it.
I left my checkbook at home so Reza follows me to my house in my new car and I drop off my old one, grab my checkbook and we head BACK to the dealership. Once we get there, they tell me they can't take my check because it's the temp check the bank gives you when you open the account and it does not have my name on it. I TOLD THEM 3X BEFORE WE LEFT THE DEALERSHIP THAT THOSE WERE THE ONLY CHECKS I HAVE!!!!!!!!!!!! So after I get so mad I raise my voice, Reza leaves, and a new liar, Andre arrives. Andre asks me to pay whatever I can... So I empty one bank account and max out 2 credit cards. Still 900$ short of the 3,000 deposit I was told I would have 4 weeks to pay. SMH. So Andre, seemingly cares a whole lot so he goes and talks to a manager and returns shortly saying, we're gonna go ahead and keep the check until Monday morning but you have to return on Monday with a  proper check. Fine. Bye!!!! Oh but wait, can I have my spare key please... Andre tells me that he will have it for me on Monday. Then, he takes down my cell phone number.
Monday morning, he texts me. I let him know that I'm on my way to the bank to get a check. I drive around all day long with no luck of getting the check I need until around 3 pm. I find a friend, Andre says I must bring the friend and that he's looking for my spare key, so I pick him up from work in Santa Monica, sit in hour long traffic all the way downtown, give them the check after waiting 40 minutes for Andre to get free. When I ask for my other check back (because they shouldn't have both checks) he tells me that it has already been filed in the business office!!!!!!! If they couldn't take the check, how and y was it filed already? Why did I have to miss a photo shoot (which is how I make my money) make a friend leave work early and waste half a tank of gas if YOU ALREADY FILED THE DAMN CHECK!!!!!!!??? So then, irritated, yet again!!!!!!!!!! I ask for my spare key so I can leave, guess what... they're looking for it. Looking for it. Reza's looking for it. How is he looking for it and I can see him standing outside talking to co workers? Whatever. Finally, Andre tells me I will have to buy a key but that I can use his employee discount. Obviously, that pisses me off. I AM NOT BUYING A SPARE when it should have come with one. Then Andre tells me that pre-owned cars do not come with spare keys. How is that? Because you told me all weekend that you would find it for me and you are looking for it... but now, all of a sudden, pre-owned cars don't come with keys!??!?!! So I finally agree to pay for one, and Andre tells me he will call me the next day with a price. So come to find out it's over 300$ for the spare. What happened to the discount you promised? I HATE THIS PLACE. I do not like being strung along, or lied to, or ignored. I do not like being mislead, etc. I will NEVER send anyone here and honestly, that sucks because aside from the fact that my gas tank will for whatever reason not fill up, it stops allowing gas to be put in it around the halfway mark. Then you have to start the car, turn the car off again and then continue filling it in order to get a full tank. What is that???, (oh!!!! and they kept telling me that they would fill my tank up at the dealership for making me drive all over but they never did!!!!!!) but all in all, I guess it's a nice car. IDK... this was just a crappy car buying experience and I wish to God I could go back in time. I would defiantly have gone with a different make of car. I'm still pissed off.. Still without a spare key.. smh. This place is the worst. GO ANYWHERE ELSE.

If your shopping around for a new car! A KIA perhaps, you NEED to come see MARTINEZ!! Talk about informative and no preassure!!! My experience was a VERY pleasant one and it was nice to have gotten lucky. I had shopped around for months and thank god I didnt get an old grump sales person, when it came to negotiating Esteban the manager wasnt too difficult to deal with, but my intellingece did feel insulted. Regardless that fact. Coming here do not foget to ask for Martinez!!!! Great Service I promise. I got my baby about a week ago! ‼‼‼

Liana A. | 2014-12-14

Andre and Ana are AMAZING! This was my first time at a Kia dealership and I had heard from a friend that this particular location has great customer service.  I went here to just look at some Kia Souls and as soon as I parked my car, I was greeted by Ana and she was extremely nice.  She took her time to show us around and we asked to see a few options and test drove one of the cars for a bit.  Ana was really patient and knowledgeable about all the cars and answered all of our questions in depth. To compare prices and leasing the car we spoke to Andre, the manager, and he gave us really good deals and we couldn't resists, so made a decision on the spot and we were so satisfied with our purchase.  I thought it was nice that Ana actually drove the car to my house to deliver it since I had my own car and she patiently sat in traffic with me for one hour! Overall I would most definately recommend this particular Kia for a visit :)

Jimi-Paige T. | 2014-12-08

I brought my car to Kia Downtown shortly after moving to Los Angeles. I was so overjoyed to have found a place to service my car that was not only professional but provided excellent and efficient service. I won't take my vehicle anywhere else.

Lowell D. | 2014-12-08

Great dealership. Terrific service. Just nice People.   They care.  Be sure to see them before  you buy a Kia.

Jason R. | 2014-12-03

Didn't schedule my oil change was in and out, less than hour. Great Customer service.

Bob K. | 2014-11-24

Last week went to Kia Downtown to check out the optima hybrid. I was fortunate to be greeted by Bass who was very calm and helped me understand all the electronics in the car  while answering all my questions. He got me the deal i wanted without hassle or pressure. The paperwork process was very smooth. He even took the time to connect my phone to it and setup all the contacts for me. I highly recommend this dealership and especially Bass. Thank you again for making this the easiest time i ever got a car (and i do get one every 3 years). To top this my car was delivered to my house since i did not have another ride.

stacy z. | 2014-11-24

If you ever want to get a new or used car please let Adams of Kia help you. He is the nicest salesperson you would ever want to meet.

James S. | 2014-11-17

Free oil change not worth it , come here from all the  from 45 mile  to here,
Waiting more then 3 hours , just wasting our time !

Mark S. | 2014-11-15

Bruno, in new car sales, is a great guy. He's very knowledgeable about the whole lineup of KIA vehicles and answered all of my questions. No pressure tactics, and it's easily the best dealership in the area to view and test drive some nice cars.

Nancy R. | 2014-11-15

I was truly disappointed when the sales men started to judge me with regard to my financial situation.  They attempted to make feel as though I had no options.  I would not recommend this dealership to anyone.  Take your business elsewhere. Where customer's are truly appreciated no matter what.

Michael B. | 2014-11-12

Kia of Downtown made it super easy for my wife and I. Tom and Ted did everything  possible to make it a in and out process we new exactly what we wanted and explained that we have a baby and he is teething and that we wouldn't be able to be at the dealership for a long time. Tom and Ted did everything over the phone with me all we had to do was sign the papers that were ready for us. Tom and his team were awesome. Thanks again Tom and KIA of downtown for are new 2015 sportage we love it.

Magaly V. | 2014-11-12

I cannot believe I was about to purchase my first car from here. What a bad experience. They do not care about about the customers just what money they bring in. What ever you guys do, stay away! I planned on getting my first car a Kia Optima because I thought thought that maybe I did not need a co-signer to buy. I originally did have a co-signer but we saw that it might be risky so I tried to do it on my own. But when I tried to buy the car alone they told me I did not have any credit and that the interest would be 20% FOR THE CAR!!! 20% is an insane amount of interest for a car I would be financing for 5 years. Now before I went in to check out the cars, I talked to a sale man on the phone. I told him I was a college student and he said he would give me a student discount of 400 dollars. Now when I went that same week, he told me I couldn't get one because I wasn't a college graduate. And the worst of all, on the last day I ever went on that lot, I got a call from the salesperson if I could go quick to see if I could get a better deal. When I arrived he wasn't there. And I did not even get a call earlier to tell me he was not going to be there due to an emergency. I told him I was busy that day because I had a halloween party at my home. A waste of my time.
Now, I went to a Honda dealership and not only got a waaaaay better deal of about 4,000 dollars less and only about 8% interest since I am building my credit. I was not only lied to at Kia by telling me I did not have any credit to have a lower interest rate, but I was almost robbed of my money just so they can make more. This is NOT how you have good costumer service. I really suggest you not go to this Kia. Im so glad I did not pick to buy this car and went with something else. I suggest another Kia dealership or a different car brand...

Thomas O. | 2014-11-08

I was provided a "truecar" certificate from this dealer guaranteeing at least $3000 off  sticker price for a new Kia Soul EV.  The dealer refused to honor the price.  I left without a car, after they offered it to me for sticker.  Outrageous!  I now believe the other negative reviews here.

Natasha C. | 2014-11-06

so this review is a little late (got my new baby on tuesday 11/4) but better late than never!!...or atleast thats what they say right lol Love love love this place!!! J.J. ANDRE AND HASSAN ARE THE BEST!! NO GIMMICKS NO HASSLE NO NOTHING....they worked with me on the payments and once again it was a no hassle experience!! Got me into my new optima with all the features that I wanted and got the color I only drawback...NOTHING!! my experience here was wonderful and I would definitely refer people to this dealership...WHEN YOU GO ASK FOR JJ ANDRE OR HASSAN!!!!

Thanks JJ ANDRE and HASSAN for getting me into my new baby!!

Priscilla M. | 2014-11-04

First off let me just say that overnight Kia of Downtown earned it's full set of stars, and if yelp had the option to give them 10 stars I would give it to them with no hesitation it's well deserved!!!!

Not only did Tom (amazing general manager) and his awesome team (Danny & Hassan) help me resolve my purchase issues they did by doing it quickly and efficiently which made me VERY VERY HAPPY (note: my previous review I was hating it) customer. All my problems and concerns were dealt with it and I ended working out my purchase to one that makes me LOVE driving my new Kia Optima. I had my doubts at first but Tom promised me that he will take care of it and that I would leave the dealership feeling nothing but happiness and he was right he did just that, thank you again!

Couldn't be happier to be a KIA owner!
Thanks guys!!

Nancy E. | 2014-10-28

TODAY 10-28-14 my husband and I are first time owners of a 2014 Kia Optima Hybrid LX and I think we picked the BEST dealership in town!!!!  Adam offered great customer service he was very attentive, focused and determined to show us and help us with the car of our dreams! Ryan and Bappy were also part of the team that made this happen for us. Staff is very friendly, they all work as a team and very important they smile and made us feel very comfortable!!! We recommend Kia and this dealership!!!! Its the place where everything is possible. THANKKKKKKKK YOU ADAM,RYAN AND BAPPY!!!!! LOVE THE RESTREPOS! :)

Jenn M. | 2014-10-28

Please keep away!! Go to another dealer!! This one just takes advantage of its customers!! They say they're there to guide you but come on really once you sign the crappy deal theu offer and come back when you look for them they are no longer interested! ! I experienced this with Victor, Jorge,  Ana, Joseph and Babby!! Save yourself the trouble and go else where!! I HATE MY KIA OPTIMA!!!!

Junior B. | 2014-10-27

It's very sad to give kia such a bad reputation. I chose kia as my first car purchase. I convince my wife to go with kia. And it was an exciting blind moment as everyone goes for the first time. But wow after getting a car the salesman are never there to help you like they say. Gdi motors have the worst rattle noise ever. But a salesman doesn't tell you that. There more interested in the down payment. Like they did with me I'm an idiot but I was in need. They made me feel trap more then relax. It's a dealership I understand and I know you can make miracles but to pull someone's pennies. So to the person who sold me the car.

Remember what you Said you where in your last 50 bucks and you made them last for your family. But yet you told me that 50 bucks more to the car payment was nothing.

But of course it's another sell another bad review.

Danielle R. | 2014-10-27

The Service i experienced at the Downtown KIA  Service Department, was Great !!. they were fast, they accepted  my coupon, they kept me informed on what was going on with my car, Happy with Everything.

Danny S. | 2014-10-25

The absolute worst service dealer I've ever been to. Standing in line for 20 minutes with only one guy ahead of me, and the parts guy just seems lost and doesn't know what is going on. Service is trash! Never experienced something as bad as this !

Kkk K. | 2014-10-20

This is the moat terrible dealership i ever been to this is bullshit 0 costumer service i never been so mad. They lied to me for my whole contract now im stuck for 39 months not even 36 i have been over charged.
And i came back to talk to manager he told now what u want me to do? I cant do anything. And he was their head manager. This is fucking bullshit. These are worst than sharks. DO NOT COME HERE CUZ U WILL BE MISSTREATED , AND THEY OVER CHARGE U. THIS IS FUCKING TERRIBLE.

Jeanie S. | 2014-10-18

I got a Kia Soul 2015.  With a very good deal!  Thanks to Bass, he's awesome!  Very helpful! He'll let you take time to decide, no rush, no pressure.

T L. | 2014-10-16

Max is wonderful. I think what brings down to 4 stars is the rest of the team.  So many great things happened and some not so great things. The not great things were out of max's control because he was reliant on managers to help. First great thing: they were able to get me a lower interest rate and actually called me to tell me about it. I had to go in to sign contracts again, but worth it. They didn't have to do that! 2nd great: I got the only fully loaded Kia Soul sha bang model in la county! I love this car! It's my 2nd one.
Bad things: they cashed my check early and I got a nsf fee. It took a while to get a resolve but finally they offered to fill my tank of gas. The manger even called me asking me to come in to write them a new check. I refused. I told them to cash it on the date I originally told them.  He said he couldn't re cash it.. He was wrong.
I also only had 1 key to my vehicle. They had to order a 2nd key and I have to go back again to have it programmed.

Max however stayed in constant communication and was sweet as can be. I can be pretty tough when buying a car.. I don't like to be dicked around.

If you are in the market for a kia, see max and get the soul!

Game O. | 2014-10-08

This dealership is full of lying people.

I Purchased a new car from the Kia of Downtown in Los Angeles. The car that I decided to go with was the 2014 Kia Optima Hybrid EX Premium package. Less than 10 minutes after leaving the dealership on our way home, a car cut me off and I hit him. (The other driver jumped the gun, my light was green) The other driver drove away and fled the scene. Its a brand new car with 19 miles on it. I tried contacting the dealership but they refused to help and told me I needed to make an insurance claim with my insurance company of my existing cars insurance to get the car fixed.

30 minutes before that when I buying the car and right before I drove off the sales rep, finance guy and asst manage told me and my wife that we'd have 30 insurance coverage with the dealerships insurance allowing us to find an insurance company for the car. sure enough I called them and they declined any assistance and pointed me to my existing insurance company.

When i asked, "why didnt my airbags work or go off on a head-on collision?" they said they didnt know but i could take the car back after my insurance fixed it so that they can make sure that the airbags work next time. SMH the airbags need to work all the time in head on collisions as stated in the owners manual. "there is no minimum speed that would determine whether or not the airbags go off on a head on collision." i was then told i would get a phone call from their manager and until now nothing!!!

i tried filling a complaint with their corporate office but then the office wanted me to physically mail in anything i had about this "pictures, police report, dates, times, and people who ive spoken with about this." to a POBOX. What the hell.

also, the kia hybrid that i wanted was the one with the premium and technology package but the sales rep Anthony insisted that kia no longer made the hybrid with the sunroof anymore. :/ he repeated this more than 5 times. even after i keep saying "well you guys have it online" and i see advertising of hybrids with the sunroof all over the dealership. he insisted they were of older models. :/ I was also told by the sales rep that he'd mail me the SD card for the navigation of the car and never did.

My insurance is reporting $10,000 in repairs but I am not willing to accept this car. Dont get me wrong I love the Optima, but air bags didnt work. that Uvo thing didnt work either, i was told that if i were in a car accident my car would call emergency help and it never did. these are main features that the car didnt do when it was suppose to.

UPDATE: 10/08/2014 I have reached out to the manager tom below via email and tried calling him, and have not yet been contacted back. :/

Marvin P. | 2014-10-06

Where do I start? Not only does Downtown Kia has the best sales team in the nation, they have one of the largest inventory in the nation. If you can't find the car and the right salesman here, good luck with another location or anywhere in life. ;)
Not to mention, this is a global brand with a global sales team in a global city. They have salesmen and saleswomen to service any language client - Spanish, Farsi, Arabic, Korean, you name it!

Steven B. | 2014-09-30

I love it here at KIA Downtown this is my second time doing business with these guys in one year.
First time they helped me get in my first car an Altima 2010 used, i did not have a good credit at first and i used their program "your Job is your credit".
Sure enough they put me in a decent car for a decent price and affordable monthly payment, and most important they kept their promises after paying my car on time for almost a year my credit improve dramatically and i was able to lease a new 2015 KIA SORENTO from KIA downtown for as little as 0$$ out of my pocket and they paid off my trade and had the GM Himself (TOM AWADA), helping me with closing up the deal.
It was a great experience make me feel at ease no pressure what so ever, Good people, professional staff from A to Z...
i would definitely recommend KIA OF DOWNTOWN to you all..!

Delmy F. | 2014-09-26

Absolutely love the Kia staff! The service was amazing. Jason was the best. Thank you for letting me be able to get my car. Great customer service. Highly recommended!! Thank you thank you thank you!!

Mayra L. | 2014-09-23

Worst experience ever! We where assisted by sales rep. that did not know anything about the Optima Ex. Had to run in and out of the office to look up answer for our questions. As a buyer you do your research to ensure that you know what you want when buying a car. I think its embarrassing for a sale rep. not to know the car there selling or even what they have on the lot. As it is the dealership in small with horrible parking spaces. There was 2 actual buyers with about 10 sale rep walking around yet we where left waiting. We finally had it and walk out. That's when everyone was more the eager to help. It was ridiculous ! What a waste of time.

Mohamad S. | 2014-09-12

The best time i had was here!

Star G. | 2014-09-08

Customer service is absolutely amazing, everyone is so nice and very thoughtful. I bought a brand new Kia Sorento and was very please with Musa who answered all my questions and even got in the car to make sure my son who is 6'1 will fit in the car comfortably as Musa is 6'3 lol. I was also pleased with the finance department, they got all my paperwork done quickly, Thank you Hassan :). Thank you all at KIA of Downtown. I love love love my car. Oh and a special thank you to Radi who treated me like a queen :).

Ruben V. | 2014-09-03

I called ahead told them my experience with the thieves down at Honda of Downey and they told me to come in see if they could help me. I came in test drove a few cars asked to see my options lease vs purchase and pricing they laid it all out to me I told them I do not bull when it comes to cars and salespersons, I want to do this deal or we not so I could be on my way....I left with a 2015 Kia Optima Digital Package and told them if the do right by me I promise I will do business with them again and so far I will be back in 4 yrs for a new car this I can guarantee you. No hassle no drama no BS and It did not take me all day. I can say I am soooo happy with my new car and never will I buy another Honda again after they burned me but Kia you definetly got a happy customer!! Just one downfall to my car was that they do not carry much in accessories as I went in asked to purchase a sunshade and I cant find one to protect my leather interior and did not offer much else in regards to accessories to add to my car nor do many out there have stuff that fit my 2015 Kia. Other than that I LOVE My Kia!!! If I could get someone to buy my 2007 Honda Accord I would buy me another Kia in a heartbeat, I never been happier in going to a dealership that is just my experience it was drama free and BS Free!!

Deejay R. | 2014-09-01

Best service ever. Thanks to Ted & Anthony, they made my labor day weekend with my brand new optima hybrid!!

Everyone was absolutely friendly. I went there for a maintenance appointment which took 1,5h, however I got offered a shuttle service to where I wanted to wait and a the option to be picked up too.
I got the car back, cleaned, after 90min  a oil change, tire rotation and complete check up.
All in a very pleasant experience

Leidy S. | 2014-08-29

Service department!!!!! First time i was there on a Saturday I was in n out in less than 2 hours. Now last Saturday I was in for my 2nd service and gosh even tho I had an appt it was useless. The guy told me in 2 hours it should be ready so I was patient but then 3..4... Almost 5 hours and my car remained in the same spot! I got frustrated and told them to give me my car back.
I will give it one last shot hopefully ican get better service! Very frustrated!!!

I went in again today Saturday and I gave service dept another chance. Awesome service this time went in an out in less than an hour. :) happy customer now!

Hussein S. | 2014-08-24

Best dealership to go to without anxiety! Workers are friendly and helpful, the facility is always clean, parking is convenient and easy and so is the ease of finding the vehicle you need! I didn't expect it to be so easy purchasing a car from here and to top it off I got free lifetime oil changes!

Shirley W. | 2014-08-21

I recently returned to Downtown Kia after a bad phone encounter with them.   My experience was excellent this time-  Everyone that I encountered was friendly and helpful and my overall experience was very good.   I went for service but I am considering buying another Kia and talked to a salesman (Wilson).  I was very impressed and will definitely contact him when I make a decision.  Given my different level of experiences,  I think that they should strive for consistency.

Francis F. | 2014-08-17

Alex Saleh was super great! He had amazing customer service! We were super happy with the service and deal he was able to provide us with! We really recommend you guys go! We ended up getting a 2014 Kia Soul. We loved it!! Bappy was also supppppper friendly!! We loved doing the paper work with him. We overall enjoyed out experience there. We weren't pressured into anything, which we loved as well! Kia of Downtown  was a great experience!'

Jean P. | 2014-08-14

I came in for a 2014 Kia Soul and had Jimmy to take care of me. I got a test drive I was pleased and then ready to finance. First the price came out wrong 4,000 extra for no reason. Then I hagged to get a low APR otherwise I would be gone and got a good one. Now the paperwork......... Done and out with my Latte Brown Soul.

4 stars because of the price increase for no reason.

Kadi C. | 2014-08-13

Ridiculous! This is the worst service department I have been in. I had an appointment at 11am. I was told I could get a ride to my house so I wouldn't have to wait. After four hours of waiting in the crowded "lounge" watching the cashier text and smack her gum, I found out that all my car needs is new spark plugs. Over priced spark plugs. AND I would have to leave my car over night. I may get it back the following day sometime in the mid morning... they think.

Matt W. | 2014-08-12

Service department:  Regardless of the decent customer service I received on my one visit here previously, the wait times (even when you have an appointment) are excruciating. I had an appointment scheduled today at 10:15am. When I show up I can't even pull in, along with 10 other cars waiting in line. Why?  Because 15 other cars are all sitting in the service pull-in area with no drivers, just waiting to get serviced. Cars turned off, just sitting there. I waited over 2 hours for an oil change and rotation last time and that was after pulling right up to the service counter to check in. I'm convinced if I had waited today it would have been a 5+ hour event. So I left and went to a local guy instead who came highly recommended. 1 hour and the service was done.

I want to give Kia a chance because I love my Kia Sportage, but there aren't enough dealers and service departments in LA to serve the need. This is a clear issue from the upper level management, not the techs.

Don't forget, Kia HQ is in OC!  This should be the Mecca!

Nessa L. | 2014-08-11

This place is excellent. We just bought a brand new kia. The salesman are incredibly nice and very helpful to assist your needs. And bad credit they will help you out!!!!!! I recommend going with hasson he's very helpful and nice. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to buy a brand new car!!!

Erika R. | 2014-08-10

Came in and they helped me get into a car . Very patient with the long process . Thank you

Giancarlo S. | 2014-08-10

This guy Alex was just GREAT convincing me to get a car, he is very honest, nice, and friendly, is my first car and thanks to him im sure i made the right desicion definitely going back for my second! Thanks Alex! :)

Tremayne P. | 2014-08-09

Although it was a long tedious process, Max was just amazingly pleasing, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the cars we were looking at. The dealer's staff (financing people) to service crew were nice as well. Thanks again for all your help.

Dahliena K. | 2014-08-05

Thank you Kia of Downtown!! I would like to especially thank my sales representative Scott who truly made this experience so easy-going. This was my second car buying experience and was so much better than the first. I have experienced very pushy and condescending sales reps that made me overwhelmed. But to be honest, Scott made this time around more comfortable and made me feel empowered to choose exactly what I wanted and not to settle for anything.

My Kia of Downtown team was Scott, Ariel, and Victor. They truly made us feel like family and gave us a great deal even when we had left to see another competitor's dealership.Needless to say, we came back to Kia and closed the deal. They were not too pushy, but was able to negotiate with us and understand our needs. Scott even helped us move our stuff (and junk) from the old car to our new Kia! What a great experience and customer service. We were truly lucky to have a guy like Scott work with us. Thanks Scott and the rest of the Kia team!

Rupert C. | 2014-08-05

First off I want to give a big Hi5 to Fatima and Hassan for taking such great care of me tonight at Kia of Downtown L.A.   Fatima was everything you hope your sales rep will be when buying a new car: professional, knowledgeable, patient and kind.  The same can be said for Hassan who handled my financing.  He guided me through the process every step of the way. Both of them went above and beyond to make sure I was a satisfied customer.  All in all It was the absolute best car buying experience of my life and I couldn't be happier!

Selene M. | 2014-08-05

Ever since I purchased my car I have found nothing wronge and iam just in love. I am still receiving great service. Jessie my sales rep has called to follow up asking how ive been and if I am happy with my car. If I needed anything else or had any questions to feel free to call him. overall everyone involved in my purchase have been great. Best experience ever

Tiffany S. | 2014-08-04

Horrible place! First off the finance team is a bunch of liars especially Bappy. I was told a different monthly rate by one car salesman and went back the next day and they couldn't find my file. After I requested to come back the next day to work with the salesman who had been working with me fro the start they requested that I stay and promised me a better deal. That's not what happened but I take full responsibility for that part. But once I got down to the finance department and meant with Bappy it was a conversation full of lies. He gave me a month free of full coverage insurance so he said but when I left I found out the insurance was not full coverage. The sales guy even lied on my application to get my a better interest rate and he told me to tell the loan company something different if they called me. SMH

This place is full of scam artist literally, DO NOT PURCHASE A CAR from this place!!!

Emi D. | 2014-08-03

Jimmy Donovan, was by far the best sales rep I have ever had an encounter with.
He was really friendly and very professional. He understood my needs and made me feel comfortable with making my decision.
He was not pushy, and wanting to close the deal and get out like some other dealers have done in the past. He understood my financial situation and he is the greatest for walking me through the process of buying a car.
He is definitely an asset to the Kia DTLA!

Christopher S. | 2014-08-02

Valentin is a great service advisor! Always in and out! Better to make appointment for early Saturday morning. Always empty!
And great customer service

Christopher S

Was here today to explore my options. Was walking around and a gentleman by the name of Jesse helped  me out he was very informative and gave me some great options. I am gonna look around but this will be me 1st choice to buy.

Wally M. | 2014-08-01

I See Gloria did to Charlie what she did to my wife and I!! Claimed to have the car there, but when you get there they, of course, don't have it. Hmmm the manager has got some work to do. Well.. he says he does anyway........ Watch out folks!!!

mxf m. | 2014-07-31

Radi is a horrible salesperson. Gives you a deal. Backs away from the deal. Harasses you constantly and then is rude when you ask him a question.

Tyler B. | 2014-07-29

Moussa was awesome, really nice and very knowledgeable about the multiple cars I wanted to try out.

I'm defiantly returning here to buy my new Optima, I recommend test driving cars here.

Charlie W. | 2014-07-29

Called before I headed down and talked to a Gloria about if they had the car I was interested in available at the dealership, aka in stock. I was looking to purchase a Rio5 SX immediately and knew exactly what I wanted. I called prior to ensure I would be able to see the vehicle I was looking for but it seems the lady lied to get me to come in.

I proceed to drive 30 minutes to downtown LA and when I get there a Fred asks me what I am interested in and I tell him I called asking to see a Rio5 SX. He says he has to check inventory. After going away and coming back about 4 times over the course of 30 minutes to ask me the same question, he finally lets me know they don't have any in stock and that Gloria was incorrect. I tell him no she lied to get me here, thanks for nothing and proceeded to a different dealership.

They did not care at all about my time or money spent traveling to the dealer, all they wanted was to get me to the dealer to try and upsell me on the Forte. They have no regard for their customers and needless to say I will never be going there again and will recommend to my friends not to go there either.

Jonathan K. | 2014-07-26

Your typical scum-of-the-Earth car dealership.  They specialize in non-liability liability insurance (i.e. don't believe Bappy, an F&I manager, when he says the insurance you purchased will make your car legal to drive); a customer referral program that promises to relieve you of one monthly car payment but instead rewards you with a game of phone tag and maybe a Costco gift certificate; a showroom so crowded that it should remind of your favorite popular nightclub complete with no place to sit and, finally, math skills that will make any eighth grader feel like a genius because somehow nothing ever adds up.  Luckily, I received the free-oil-changes-for-life deal when I purchased my car- can't wait to see how that turns out.

If, after all this, you still decide that you'd rather go through Kia of Downtown Sherman Oaks or Glendale, then make sure you get all the offers in writing, quadruple check every piece of paper you sign and trust no one.

Lola D. | 2014-07-25

Terrible.never retuned my call. Did application online for faster service because I was in the middle of a move .told asociaste Ryan id be needing a Car yo complete My move and He bailed and went home and never heard from Him again . Sent documents he needed to his cell Phone so i Could just sign and drive but i guess he racks up sales that he really didn't need mine. Terrible customer service by everyone. Runaway from them!!?they all lie and make promises and just end up disappointing you!

Keila A. | 2014-07-21

Buying our first car was nerve racking but the guys of Downtown Kia helped us out and we managed to get out with a new 2015 Kia Forte. At first, it was a constant fuss and arguments about reasonable prices and monthly payments, but Felipe and Alan made it happen for us.. We came out happy campers... We then talked Hassan who was very friendly fast and efficient regarding paperwork, keys, insurance, etc. and then handed us the keys.. An exciting moment of our life and we took off  *Just hopefully the other reviews won't happen to us.. Do us good

J W. | 2014-07-21

I didn't buy a Kia from Kia of Downtown, but am sharing my experience as an example of why I will go elsewhere, and you should too.

We were greeted at the entrance to the dealership by Alex, who was clearly new.  It took him about 20 minutes to identify which Optima to test drive, then another five to locate the keys.  Most dealerships have lock boxes.  I don't know why this one doesn't.  This was the good part of the visit.

Once we finished the test drive, we went inside, curious about summer deals.  Despite having told Alex we had no intention of buying, we would potentially be trade in a vehicle we didn't have with us, and that we were going to other local dealerships afterwards, Alex's "manager" hounded us repeatedly about running credit... I don't know why he wouldn't take no for an answer.  My girlfriend asked for ballpark figures assuming that her credit was good (which it is), and he again demanded to run our credit... Not only was he rude, aggressive and had a loose relationship with the truth (what packages came with what), his tone towards my girlfriend was demeaning.  She studied Math in college but he treated her like a bimbo using phrases like "I know you may not understand..." just pathetic really.  Seriously, I doubt this guy could sell an ice cream on a hot summer's day at the beach.  He's a prime example of why car salesman get a bad reputation.  Our experience with Matt at Nissan was completely different.  Based on experience, we're leaning towards the Altima.  If we buy the Kia, it will certainly be from a competing dealership.

There may be some nice and friendly sales people at Kia of Downtown (mentioned in some of other reviews), but this review is exclusively about Alex's unprofessional "manager', whom I expect was just a senior salesman.

Patricia A. | 2014-07-19

Absolutely horrible!!!! The salesmen are totally unreasonable!!! I have good credit, I'm a loyal customer, and still, they tried to offer me a $630 payment on a Damn Kia!!!! WTH?!?! What a waste of a Saturday!!!! They're ridiculous!!!!! They already ripped me off once, not again!!! Greedy bastards

Alanperalta61 .. | 2014-07-19

I went to the service department although I had an appointment I had to make a long line ....... my service was supposed to be about 80 dollars went they told me it was 24 Dollars because it's free oil changing went you buy a car from them ...... I didn't buy the car from them so I was happy .......please help me get a new car  lol

Ali J. | 2014-07-15

If you are a happy customer and just bought or leased a car from them ... hold on you will be an unhappy, unsatisfied and angry customer soon.

Let me tell you guys the story that I had with this dealership. I leased a kia Optima 2 years ago, the time that I was signing the contract the dealer named khaldon elbatsh promised me after 1 year I can take my co-signer's name off from my contract. After 1 year and half I called them and asked them is it possible to remove the co-signer's name, and they CONFIRMED! I went there, they told me you need to sign this paper to complete the process of transferring the entire contract on your name. Guess what? The document they gave me to sign was asking the permission to rum my credit card. I am so sorry that I trusted the Kia liarship of Downtown. They ran my credit and after that they told me you have give this car back and get a new car with only your name!! Hey am I stupid? Why I have to return my new car??

After all those headaches my battery started to have some issues. I had to call kia road assistant to jump my battery. I didn't have time to change my battery and didn't know that the warranty will cover the battery for two years. The day before my warranty ended I figured out that I can change my battery. I went to the customer care thing and they told me we cannot change your battery and you have to pay. [I still had warranty.] I left there and called kia main customer service and explained what's happen. On Friday they call me back and gave me a case number to show the dealer. I went there again on Saturday and when I he found out who I am he behave so rude (main kia called them earlier). After 1 hour sitting there they told me they recommend me to change my cabin filter for $70!! Rotate my tires for $60 !!! and change my oil for $30 (I changed my oil just 1 week before going there). I just told them I only need the battery and will take of the rest by myself! He said ok and after 2 hours he came back and told me you have to do this stuffs and otherwise we will not change the battery! THEY FORCE YOU THE GET THEIR SERVICE!!!! I gave my case number and they ignore me. WASTING MY TIME FOR 3 HOURS for nothing!

I will never ever come back there. Most of them are liars and they only need your signature and money! After that you are their slave.

Lynne H. | 2014-07-13

The entire staff was very professional and courteous.  My salesman Aaron was very instrumental in my purchase, he was very patient, not pushy and honest. Although it was his first day on the job, if it was something he didn't know he was open and honest with me and did not pretend, he went and came back with the correct answer.  He was very personable, all the attributes that I like with any salesperson.  Aaron's boss Alan, came out before I drove off the lot, to review and explain every detail of my car (which the Cadenza has many bells and whistles), I felt very comfortable driving off in it.   From the manager to the (financial person Khaldon, who even offered to share his snacks), were very hospitable and a great professional group of guys to do business with.  I will definitely recommend my relatives and friends to this dealership.

rachel k. | 2014-07-12

Ask for Bass when you go there to by a car. He was a amazing sales guy. He was really patient and helpful and he genuinely seemed to care about our experience there.

Carina C. | 2014-07-10

We have Kia Soul that we absolutely love (it's seriously the best car!). Recently one of the headlights burned out. After stopping by the Cerritos location and being told they didn't have time to fix it that day, I remembered that there was a Kia dealership in DT.

My husband called and asked if he could bring the car in to have the light replaced. The receptionist said he needed to make an appointment but they did have time that same day to replace the headlight. So he jumped in the car and drove across town (we both work on the westside and live in Long Beach). When he arrived at the dealership they informed him they didn't have the bulb in stock and couldn't fix it. Saaayyyy wha?!

This is the first time we've ever been disappointed with a Kia dealership but point well taken: we won't be back to the DT location for anything. My advice, take the time to drive the the Cerritos location. They are super friendly!

Frank M. | 2014-07-06

Id like to say I had a pretty damn good time Dealing with Bevin, Ryan and Victor when he came in towards the end. I got what I wanted a 2014 Kia Sportage LX. I am impressed with personally cause I work on luxury cars and for what Kia has to offer is not to bad. Before getting in contact with Bevin from KIA of DTLA I had reached out to other dealers and none of them where really interested because they did not reply and email me like I had asked. Bevin was on point with everything and easy going so was Ryan he worked hard for my business and I appreciate that . It was an exciting experience kind of like a high if I can afford another car payment I would do it all over again just to deal with Bevin and Ryan. So if buying a KIA get it from DTLA and ask for Bevin or Ryan. Thank you...

Shirlyn S. | 2014-07-03

This place sucks !!! Never go here .
All they do is lie and pretend like they are trying to help you. But in reality they are only trying to help their self! !!!!! They have screwed me over lots of times. Now I'M Stuck with this stupid car which is NOT WORTH WHAT I'M PAYING. NOT TO MENTION THEY forgot to Put my name under the car , so I'm not getting any credit for paying !!!!!!

Jason K. | 2014-06-30

Had a great car buying experience at kia of DT, easy fast and bought my car in hrs 1.5 hr.

Tom, the man at kia (manager) really made me comfortable and smart to purchase my new kia here. He took my older car for a trade and made it happen with same monthly payment!!.  Tom you are my new brother!! Congrats!!!  For the new position as the head honcho.  I will be back !!!

When you want to buy a car, make sure, you know what you want and don't mess around with the sales. As long as you are serious and ready to drive out in s new car, the team at kia of down town will make it happen.

I'm a really happy with my new 2014 soul.

Never bought a car this easy and made many new friends here.

By the way, if you have good credit, it will make your life easier buying a new kia.
Keep up the good work !!

Lauren D. | 2014-06-20

This was my first Car buying experience. I went to other car dealerships but this was by far the friendliest knowledgeable dealership. My sales woman, Fatima, was so polite. She listened to what I wanted in a car and what I could afford. I didn't feel like she was pushy or trying to give me the run around. It was hassle free. She was very genuine. She set up with my car.. I absolutely LOVE IT. I am extremely thankful to her and the whole KIA team for making this first experience a great one! Definitely coming back for my next car!

I love the customer service I receive every time I visit the service department. All of the men working there are gentlemen and very respectful. They make my visit a smooth one. I love how the service is speedy and the entire staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

Gaby S. | 2014-06-16

I usually don't do this but after my recent experience at Kia of Downtown it felt like a must ! I had been looking into purchasing the Optima for a while and finally decided to try this location. No one was able help me out like Kia of Downtown. I knew what I wanted and they were able to work with me and get me into the perfect car. Not only was everyone extremely friendly but they were constantly making sure I was taken care of while I was there .  The overall process went smooth and I even recommended a friend who purchased a car a week later. If your thinking about getting into a Kia make sure to come to this location !!!! They are truly the best and I can't say how much I love my car .

Jessica R. | 2014-06-16

If I could I'd go back and have the experience I did at KIA of DTLA! As soon as you walk in you're welcomed by their friendly staff and attended immediately. Their knowledge about the vehicles is phenomenal and the deals are too good to pass up. I encourage everyone looking for a great car buying experience to go here.

Natalie M. | 2014-06-16

Where do I begin, First off Thank you to my friend for referring me to this dealership to purchase my brand new Kia Optima 2014. Coming into this dealership with such a great & friendly staff made me want to go out & tell everyone to buy their Kia's from here. They made this experience so wonderful & quick for me. Each & every person working here is just absolutely amazing. They ALL greet you & make sure you are well taken care of. My car is perfect & I don't think I could be any happier. Thank you guys all for my new car & the great customer service!!!!

Lauren H. | 2014-06-15

I highly recommend Gilbert as a salesman.  As a female, I am careful going to car dealerships because I know I am a target for them to rip off.  Scott Gilbertson didn't make me feel pressured and was extremely helpful.  Thank you for the good experience.

Don S. | 2014-06-05

I came here to have my front tires looked at and replaced. Lance (service advisor) was professional MUCH more knowledgeable than your typical non-mechanic employee. He was able to determine the culprit of my tire issue, show it to me and explain it thoroughly, and recommend good nearby eateries while I awaited the repair. Truly a pleasure to deal with, especially after my recent experience at another dealership (girlfriend's car) where I almost pulled all of my hair out.

Jason G. | 2014-06-04

so much better than my recent expereinces in Carson or Glendale. people are more pleasant to work with. Answers are more straightforward.

Adam F. | 2014-05-30

My salesman Felipe Leyva was top notch. He was extremely knowledgeable about the cars, not interested in wasting time, but not pressuring either. This honestly was the most low-stress, easy new car experience I've ever had, and I normally dislike being at  car dealerships so that's saying a lot.

I literally drove in, parked my Sonata, Felipe greeted me as I was getting out of my car, and we walked right into an Optima I wanted to test-drive. Then another, all the while he was filling me in about the features of the cars.

I would have preferred if the financial negotiations were handled in an office or somewhere with more privacy (Felipe, his superior Alan who was also extremely professional, his superior and I were out at a table in the main room), but in the end it all went down smoothly.

Grace G. | 2014-05-29

I made yet another lease on a Kia Sportage and I couldn't have had a better experience at this dealership. As usual, Super courteous and informative staff. this is our second lease at that dealership. love the teamwork vibe I see when I go there. Keep up the great work ;)

Jon J. | 2014-05-20

I also had a GREAT experience. I am not sure what people expect now days, but some people expect "The parting of the red sea" instead of being practical. I am practical, and KIA of Downtown Service Department was flawless! I could not have asked for better service or the respect they had given me. It seemed as though, they were always a step ahead of me. They were waiting on me, they had a loaner vehicle for me, they had my vehicle completed before the time given AND they met all my expectations. My car was given back to me detailed and with everything looking and working in great condition. I've owned numerous vehicles (BMW, Jaguar, Range Rover, etc....) and each vehicle has their own faults, as well as their own positive niches. All in all, vehicles are mechanical pieces all working as one, so sooner or later there is going to be a problem. KIA has stepped up AND beyond than any other dealership that I have dealt with. My KIA K900 is completely better than my BMW 750LI Alpina, in which I spent 100k more than the K900. At the same token, the dealership in ALL has been much superior and more personable. You cannot please everyone, but the vast majority, KIA of Downtown LA will satisfy and appease.

Jasmine R. | 2014-05-19

Avoid this place'n go anywhere else but here. spoke to a Karina on the phone i couldnt even understand a word she said. What kind of people do you hire?!! Aside from that very useless had no product knowledge what so ever  ..!when i got there promised to see "massive inventory" they only had three of my interest. And their pricing is ridiculously high. Victor however was very helpful and tried to work with us but didnt purchase here.

Michael T. | 2014-05-03

I bought a new Cadenza on April 3rd.  Fatima C. (Internet Sales) and Tom A. (General Manager) had it out waiting for a test drive when I arrived.  I was very happy with the entire experience.  The entire team was great with my family.  I love the location at the end of the 110 Express Lanes.  It's very convenient for me and everything is very clean.  They brought me over and introduced me to Jay B. and Lance F in their service department.  I have already had a service appointment for a quick software update and the service was great.  Their service department is also very clean.  They do a full inspection and wash your car regardless of what you are showing up for. I will be back in 2015 for another Kia.

Barbara H. | 2014-05-02

In the interest of fairness, I decided to call Tom Awada (I think thats his last name) since he said in his reponse to me that if there was anything he could do to resolve the problem, contact him (paraphrasing). Well, each time I call, here is what I am told:

1.  He is not available.
2. He is in a meeting.
3. He is with a customer.

One woman who answered the phone did not even know who he was.

Why was I not surprised?

At least, I tried.

I absolutely LOVE my new Kia Optima Hybrid EX I was able to score at Kia of Downtown for ZERO 0 DOWN and ZERO 0.00% APR for 6 YEARS! :)
I have purchased several cars before and this experience was nothing like any of my previous dealership experiences. Everyone at this location is polite, friendly, helpful, and respectful. They greet you and serve you as if you were family. Even though we arrived late and right before closing, Marvin took care of me and my new fiance with our first car purchase together. He made us feel like royalty. He listened to our goals and catered to our needs. I felt like I was buying a car from a friend and not a greasy desperate car salesman like most places make you feel. Once we made our decision, we did paperwork and Marvin presented us with several different options to get to the Goal we wanted. Of course there was a bit of negotiation, as there should be in with any purchase, needless to say we came to an agreement that made me feel I was stealing their car right off the lot! Bappy in Finance signed all the final paperwork with us and he was so awesome and sweet, I mentioned I wanted a snickers and he jumped and bought me one in the vending machine! :) He reinforced our decision with praises and clearly educated us on all the fine print details. Because they closed while we were still there, we were unable to actually drive our new purchase home because there was still the final detailing and inspection they had to do, so instead of us returning the next day 40 miles away from home to get it, Marvin delivered it right to my home the next morning, charged and with a full tank of gas!

So in summary, its feels like family at Kia of Downtown, and essentially they helped us make a smart purchase that we can enjoy for years to come and long after we build a family of our own.

Thanks Again, Joe, Marvin, Bappy and the rest of the Staff at Kia of Downtown.

Love Melissa & Kyle

I went Car shopping on 4-26-14 and this was the first dealer I went to. Let me tell you the first sales rep that met us was the Best!! Larry never tried to up sell me and listened to what I wanted and could afford. Nothing but great things to say about Larry.

Sadly once we started to crunch numbers with some other sales reps we just where not able to come to a reasonable price that would fit my Budget. I ended up leaving and getting a Kia at a different dealer.

4 starts because of Larry who made this day a good day.

Rick O. | 2014-04-28

Its ok! Not the most amazing customer service, it was just satisfactory!  Example, once they sale the car they won't follow up with things pending.

I loved my experience at KIA of Downtown. My sales person Marvin Park went above and beyond to make sure I received a great deal in the car I wanted. He also took the time to explain all the fun features of my new optima! The day I bought my car my brother in law was with me and he liked the service so much that he also bought a car! After a month of having my new car I am still receiving calls to help me with anything i need for instance, getting me set up with insurance! What a major help and saves me the time.

Omar G. | 2014-04-17

Bad service there we go to buy a car and they say that we are finance and 2 weeks later they send us a later saying that we have to take the car back really sending us a a LETTER so then we take the car back and ask them why are they taking the car back and their responds was we couldn't find a bank to finance you really not so happy after they told us we were finance so now we are car less thank you KIA OF DOWNTOWN....

Ashley W. | 2014-04-05

The customer service here is unparalleled! Lance in the Service center is beyond friendly, helpful and personable! He kept in touch with me about the progress if my car. He was very thourough as well!

Everyone I walked by or interacted with gave me a smile or a quick "hi!" Everyone was so kind and QUICK.

I had to take the shuttle back to my job in Santa Monica and Will (who was the shuttle driver that day) was so friendly and nice to talk to. He made the drive so comfortable. Not that awkward silence the whole way, ya know? He went out of his way to go the extra 2 miles (outside the 10 mile shuttle radius) to drop me off at my destination.

Anyway, I'm SO bummed I didn't but my Kia from this location. If I could go back in time, I would absolutely ONLY do business with Kia of Downtown LA.

Thanks a million for taking care of me! I'll be back!

Best place for service in Downtown LA.

Rusty S. | 2014-03-30

Currently sitting at a different KIA dealership and they are confused and apologized for the "crap" that Felipe (the salesman) did. To hear a dealership from the same kind of car apologize for ripping someone off is a sign that some people should not be in business. The fact that Felipe still world at your establishment is a sign that integrity and honesty is a word you clearly don't know. Anybody who's interested in purchasing a KIA should know they are great cars but this dealership is a scam from the get go. Avoid this place at all cost.

Ryan R. | 2014-03-29

I went to this dealership's service department as my Kia Optima SX was no longer performing properly. The service department called me back two hours later to say they could not duplicate the problem and that the car was performing normally. This was after Elias said a shuttle would be ready for me in 10 to 15 minutes. After waiting for 35 minutes, I asked the woman at the front desk when I should expect a shuttle. She returned and informed me that one had never been ordered. After 45 minutes of waiting, spending my gas getting there, and then receiving a call that they could not even duplicate a 50% power loss I can honestly say I will never return to this service location.

I had a good experience, bought a 2014 Forte. Armen was great!!!! Got our plates in the mail within a few weeks!!!

Their sevices are great.   Will recommend to my friends to get service done there.  Very friendly.

We found this place through our credit union. We went through the used car option and found an unbelievable price. It was too good to be true, but we got the "price assurance certificate" through the credit union site. Still unsure, my husband called to verify this incredibly low price.

He called.
He asked.
They said yes.
Are you sure? he asked.
Yes ,just come down.

We live about 40 min away from the dealership so we came. We met with Elory who was very nice and attentive. However, when it came time to talk money and we showed them our certificate they said- you can't get a car for that price. Basically telling us that it was impossible to get that price.

We told them we had called in, mentioned the person's name who we had spoken to and what was said on the phone.  They told us it was a third party mistake. Okay, people make mistakes ,but WHY did they VERIFY the mistake? They actually told us "well, she must have though you meant the lower price."

Okay so where is the responsibility?

We called the credit union and they told us the price was submitted by the dealership. Okay so people make mistakes. BUT THEY TOLD US that it was the CORRECT price when we called so they didn't look so TWO mistakes?

Also we called them back afterward and got in contact with the lady we had initially spoke with. She had a pleasant phone demeanor and was updated about the events, but again no responsibility. No, "I made a mistake and told you the wrong number. Sorry you drove all the way up here and wasted your time, what can I do for you (and by that I don't mean a good offer on a new or used vehicle)."

I feel like this was a waste of time and gas money for us to go there. Again, Elroy was attentive and straightforward with what he knew.  He actually directed us to his manager who spoke with us about the price issues. However, I would verify, verify, verify if you are considering a purchase. It just seems that "oops, sorry...can I show you something else?" just doesn't cut it.

Take to heart the warnings from the other yelp reviewers. BTW yelp may put some reviews ahead of others, but I don't think they are deleting the "good reviews".

Also, if anyone cares to respond to this review from the dealership, don't tell me how you are sorry about my experience and to call you and don't just blame the third party site. They might have made one mistake-PERHAPS, but you most certainly made one as well.

In the wise words of Mike Brady : Caveat Emptor.

Sarica C. | 2014-03-08

I had a great experience at Kia of downtown LA.  George Wilson and Alan were fantastic in both showing me the vehicles and getting me a great price.  Ben Kim in finance was extremely thorough and made sure that I had all of my questions answered before signing any paperwork.  That kind of service is MUCH appreciated.

The only hiccup was how long it took to get my car once I made the purchase but the managers and all employees acknowledged and apologized for the wait and made sure I was comfortable while waiting for my vehicle.

I am VERY happy with the service, the people and most of new awesome car!

Thank you Kia of Downtown LA!

Low and behold, I am back again writing about my continuously bad experience with this bottom barrel business. The headache hasn't stopped, ladies and gentlemen. This dealership is still screwing me over and giving me the royal run around. I have had enough. PLEASE SPARE YOURSELF FROM THE MISERY! Do not come here! They will sweet talk you and tell you everything you want to hear in the beginning but never follow through. If you haven't read my first review, I encourage you to do so. But, sadly it hasn't ended... I have yet another terrible experience to add on.

I have had the car for 5 and a half months, now, almost 6....and I still have not received my registration or license plates!!! Six months folks! THERE IS NO JUSTIFICATION FOR THIS, WHATSOEVER! I have been notified by the DMV that the registration is incomplete and the fees have not been paid yet, but why is this? When I signed the lease agreement, the down payment I made included the registration fees and electronic vehicle transfer fee - what is the hold up?! Essentially, I am driving an illegal vehicle right now because the temporary registration paper they stuck onto the inside of my windshield is only good for 90 days, and it is well past that time. I have called numerous times demanding answers, and I always get a variation of the same type of response: "The person who handles that isn't in right now," "Oh, don't worry, I will take care of it and give you a call back," "The business office is actually closed right now, so you will have to call back during those hours".... I am a full time student who also works a full time work schedule Monday through Friday every week. Anytime I try and handle this situation, I am conveniently told that I will have to call back, or someone will call me back. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! I can't afford to take the time off from both work and school to drive an hour away to handle this in person, with no guarantee that I will receive the answers or things I need there.

You can't just treat people this way, and get away with it. I have called and demanded to speak to the person in charge who can provide me with the answers I need to solve the problem but no one seems to think of me as important. I keep getting pushed aside for another day's work, again, and again, and again. The stress is overwhelming and I am just tired of it all. Why must I keep going out of my way to get the things from them that they should be taking care of? WHY ISN'T ANYONE DOING THEIR JOB?!

I have been doing my part by paying my monthly payments on time. But Kia hasn't done their part. In my lease agreement, it states that the car must be currently registered at all times - but it isn't. Kia is breaking the lease right now. Something needs to be done here. There is honestly nothing they can tell me now to make things better. I don't believe anything they tell me. Nothing has been truthful and it never happens according to what they say it will.

Please let me continuing nightmare with this establishment be a warning to you who is reading this.

I know I am not alone. I see others who comment with their terrible experiences. They (Kia and Kia of Downtown L.A) can't continue to get away with treating people like this. To any of the people at Kia reading this, shame on you. Tom Awada, General Manager, why is it that you have not commented your sincere regrets and apologies on my review but have for others? That reassures my feeling of not being cared about by you and your business. You got what you wanted from me, my money and my signature, and now you could care less about the troubles I go through. You have been a constant weight, burden, and stress in my life for the entire 6 months I have had the car. When will it end?

Jenny D. | 2014-02-23

I had a GREAT experience here!! :)   I was researching Souls at 4 different Kia dealerships for a week before I ever set foot in the door at Kia of Downtown.  I had been going back and forth (via internet and phone) with 4 separate salespeople at 4 separate dealerships before I decided to go to this dealership for a test drive and ended up taking home my 2014 Soul+ that very day. I was prepared not to buy that day if the price was not what I had in mind, but they gave me such a great deal - I just couldn't refuse!

Honestly, I was turned off by the tactics of the other dealerships' sales people.  One person at another dealership told me the Soul I wanted in the color and options I wanted were so hard to find that all the dealerships were charging above MSRP for it, if they can even locate it. BALONEY.  Another salesperson at another dealership literally told me Kia of Downtown was lying to me and "you'll find out when you end up coming back to me for the deal after their 'deal" falls though." SURVEY SAYS - you were WRONG!  I got an EVEN BETTER deal, so there!  I don't think it's good business to knock other dealerships the way he did - left a bad taste in my mouth.

I dealt with Maya at Kia of Downtown and she was always very upfront with me, offered me a great price to start after some negotiating via email, and I never had any problem with the car we discussed not being there when I got there.  She was even nicer in person and I appreciate giving a woman my business in such a male-dominated profession.  We took a couple of test drives.  Did more negotiating in between the drives and got the price down even more. :)  Tom came in at the end and offered me financing I could not believe (1% through Capital One) and threw in an extra special service deal for me for future oil and filter changes!!  Even my credit union who had already pre-approved me for 1.95% said, you got an AWESOME deal because even we cannot offer that low of a finance rate!  I worked very hard to get my credit score to a good place, and now I am seeing the fruits of my labor.  Maya even set up my Bluetooth for me and gave me a little tour of all the tech inside (I was coming from a 10 year old Accord that had NONE of these amazing features - was like stepping into a space shuttle!).  She also went above and beyond after the sale to make sure I was happy and still checks-in periodically to see if there was anything else I need.  I loved the whole experience that day, and I was a little worried going in, as negotiating is not really my thing.  The day was smooth and painless - REALLY!!  GO SEE MAYA!! :)

I absolutely LOVE my Soul. It's just what I wanted and SO MUCH MORE!!  This was my first time buying a brand-new vehicle - I spent a lot of time researching cars before I decided upon a Soul.  I'm so glad I spent the extra time ahead of time and was able to walk in knowing exactly what I wanted.  I LOVE Kia of Downtown and will refer all my friends to Maya because she was so GREAT to deal with. And, I love the attention the Soul gets - people LOVE it and so do I!!!! :)

Maria D. | 2014-02-07

We had a great experience here we had gone to several different dealers !! With no luck in getting a good deal... From the 1st call from Marvin Park , great customer service really tried hard to make a deal we liked, showed concern and interest in helping us meet our goal .. Everyone was Great!! And Ben from Finance thanks for working hard and bringing our APR down ... Really Appreciate it .. Would definitely shop here again !!!

Thanks again.. Maria & Dario

Dan N. | 2014-01-19

Had a good experience getting my wife her first new car today. Felipe was very helpful and not any more pushy or aggressive than he had to be. We were mostly just stopping by to have a look as my wife's old Kia was on its last legs and we were doing some pre-shopping.

We ended up walking out with a new Forte EX and getting more than we thought we would on her trade-in.

The finance manager, Khaldon was very efficient and explained everything very thoroughly.

I'd rate the process of buying a car just marginally more pleasant than a divorce in most cases, but this one was good, and they took care of us efficiently and we're very happy with it, even though it took about 5 hours. Pretty typical for buying a new vehicle.

Edgar J. | 2014-01-14

As far as purchasing I think there all liars  and will try to rip you off  and waste as much time out of your day as possible.
We bought our Kia from there back in 2012. From the beginning they talk a lot of trash about our current car that we came in, which was a Kia , we sadly bought into there comments, very pushy from the beginning. Victor our sales rep promised us that we would help us lower our payments a year after we bought our sportage. ALL LIES. We got there about a year and a half later and all they wanted to do was get us into a new Kia, without even asking us what color or anything they just started showing us random kias and like previously kept talking trash about our current kia. At the end of the day they didn't help us lower our payments and just kept insisting on us getting a new Kia on there lease to purchase. I swear I told them over 6 times that we wanted to keep our car!!!! There all just thirsty salesmen. Thanks to them I'll never consider getting a Kia ever again.

As far as their service department they are really nice and get the job done right! Also the free car wash is pretty awesome. But seriously don't go there! Even if you deal with them online I'm sure it's all just lies for you to go in there so they can try to eat you alive.

Must go to kia of downtown la !

Best dealership

I went with my brother to look @ a kia sorento he wanted and we had a great experience.

I want to thank Radi (sales manager) and his sales associate for the great service. Everyone was very professional and polite. They went beyond  my expectations and gave me the best deal. Radi was really patient and he worked within my budget.

I highly recommend kia of downtown la.

You wont regret it !

Ask for Radi (sales manager)

Maysah F. | 2013-12-28

Amazing dealership with amazing service! Go here! You won't regret it. If you have any questions, they will answer them clearly. Everyone works their best to get you in the car you want for the price you want.

A G. | 2013-12-26

I give this dealership one star. We called ahead of time to make sure they had the exact car I needed (one with an electric driver seat) and they said they had it. Drove in peak hour traffic on a Friday with a lakers game there, just to find out they didn't have the car, and there was no car there I could test drive. They then tried to sell me on other cars that I didn't want nor had any interest in. Therefore, we left the dealership in 5:00 traffic the Friday before Christmas and would not return there. Instead, I just had a great experience at Hyundai who were very helpful and HAD the right car!

A S. | 2013-12-22

ZERO - If I could give this dealership a zero they earned it. The staff will lie to you without any regard for you time, money or resources.  They will tell you they have the exact car you request only to change tell you they sold it last night (same line used twice on different dates).  Using everything for Lies to even mere Bait and Switch efforts to get you into their dealership in person.  Avoid at all costs.  They even LIE to other dealerships telling them they do not have a car while telling you they do in order to get you to drive down and deal with Bait and Switch unfair business practices.

Drive 45 south to Kia of Irvine if you want honest people.

Jossa A. | 2013-12-17

They helped me on finally getting my very first car to reality. The staff are great. From sales, finance, to documentation. They did everything they can to adjust within my financial means. Stayed with us through the whole process and even days after. Thank you so much.

William M. | 2013-11-30

This place is run by a bunch of crooks.  I won't go into specifics regarding my experiences with this place, however, they were bad.  I will never do business with them again.  You have many choice, go anywhere else but don't go to Kia of Downtown

Stephanie C. | 2013-11-21

I had a great experience at Kia of Downtown!  It was my first time purchasing a car on my own and I was a little nervous, but I had heard that this place had great customer service.  I was not disappointed.  Both Fatima and Armen walked me through the purchase and made me feel comfortable.  The car that I ended up taking home that day had some issues, so I had to take it back to the dealership.  They put me in a rental so they could fix the issues, but I wanted to get in my new car asap, so the next day I went in and they set me up in a new car that I drove off the lot that day.  I liked not just the customer service they gave me at the time of the sale, but the way they took care of me afterwards when I had issues.  That really showed me what kind of people they are there.  I highly recommend! Thanks Fatima & Armen you guys are awesome!!

Suzan N. | 2013-11-20

I am shocked with the these reviews....I got a great deal, the people working there are the best of the best. Great customer service, and very honest people.  I went back to do service on my car, I was in and out in no time.  If you are considering buying a car, head down to Kia Downtown and give your self a favor. Cheers!!!

Ornin H. | 2013-11-15

I had best experience at Kia store. I had read all the reviews and I was not sure if I need to stop by this store.  But what they provided me was unbeatable and I could not resist.  Thank you guys

Cristina F. | 2013-11-13

Bought my 2013 Kia Soul from here.  I was just gonna stop by and see what was up.  We had already been to the Glendale Kia and was just looking to compare prices.

I left with a 2013 Kia Soul Exclaim.  I was actually there to check out the Kia Forte 5-Door with no whistles.  But man.  That little Soul (which I named Biggie Smalls cause he looks small from the outside, but it's roomy and big on the inside!) stole my heart.

Everyone was really helpful.  Very informative.  The negotiations took a while, but that's expected.  The place could be a little cleaner, but I don't have any real complaints.

Thanks guys!

Juan M. | 2013-11-07

Went here last night and got told I was going to receive a call and all. Made me believe that it was the real deal. Been glued to my phone all day waiting and nothing. I know after 9pm today if I don't get a call or nothing all these reviews I've read are true. If people's credit don' r meet your requirements don't sugar coat it by saying it looks good and you will call.

Ryan S. | 2013-10-21

If I could give Downtown Kia zero stars, I would.

This is one of the shadiest groups of people I have ever dealt with and my friends are all plaintiffs lawyers. We spent an hour on the lot, they gave us a price and we said we had to sleep on it. On the way off the lot they dropped it by $1,500.

The next day we confirmed the price was still good on the phone and drove in from Sherman Oaks. When we arrived they said that price, which they had confirmed on the phone 1hr earlier, was no longer good.

We walked out and bought from Sherman Oaks Kia, they were amazing.

Monica D. | 2013-10-21

I am upset that I cannot give these people ZERO stars.  They give car salesman a bad name.  We negotiated a deal for a car, said that we would have to get back to them on it and left for the night.  As we were leaving, they rushed out and stopped our car, and dropped the price further.  We still told them that we would have to think about it, but would get back to them.  The next day, we ended up deciding to go with them and I called the back to confirm the price they had offered as we left.  They confirmed verbally over the phone and we drove 45 min to the dealership.  Once we got there, we were shuffled around, waited for over 15 min for someone to come talk to us, and then, all of a sudden, the "big boss" came out and said that they would not honor the price they had quoted us and that I had confirmed over the phone.  We immediately walked out.  DO NOT GO TO THIS DEALER!!!!  Dishonest and unscrupulous.

Rachel A. | 2013-09-29

When I first got my Kia, I went to Kia of Glendale to when it was time for  my first oil change. At Glendale, I had to wait much longer than the esitmated time I was given, the waiting room was small and unwelcoming, and the service was blah.

Ever since then, I always come to Kia of Downtown LA for all of my service needs. This is the second time that I have been assisted by Ara, who has offered me great customer service, keeps me informed about my vehicle, and is there to answer all of my questions. This particular visit, I was there for just an oil change, and they took my car without an appointment and took care of my oil change fairly quickly. Also, Ara let me know about the services that will need to performed on my car next time I come in to Kia.

Brian D. | 2013-09-26

Since writing my original review, the General Manager, Tom, reached out to me and apologized. Unfortunately, I've moved out of the area so I won't be able to do business with them anyway. I do want to note that the trouble I had was with the Service Dept. I have no experience with the sales Dept. Because of this, I'm not changing my rating.

Erika M. | 2013-09-25

I decided to check out the downtown KIA service department since its a whole lot closer to me and, well, I'm sorry to say, but I'm not entirely impressed. The guys are nice and helpful, but the service is way slow and inconsistent. The first time I came, I had a 30,000 mile check-up. Service was ok, but I never got the free car wash promised to clients. Meh, it wasn't a big deal. So I came back for my $1 oil change (a deal I got from my last visit). I had to wait 2 whole hours for an oil change, even though I called to make an appointment at 7 am!!! What's that about?! At least I got my car wash this time around. Eh.

I feel that my boys at the Glendale KIA gave me better deals. Will be going to them next time around.

Gayby Y. | 2013-09-18

I am so disgusted with this place, and I will never return here or let any of my friends go here. I have a new kia (not from here), its about a year old, and after a drive across the country, the thing needed a major detail. ANYWAY.

I called the night before to make an appointment, the woman on the phone said they were busy on saturday, but that they could make time for me. When i got there, everyone was very friendly and polite. The shuttle drove me to school fine, and it was ready when I got out of my meeting at 4. (it should be noted they called me when it was "ready")

When i got back to the dealership, my car wasn't ready, despite the phone call. The rugs in my car were NOT DRY, and they failed to put my trunk's interior back (which I was not even aware it came out). I noticed this when I got home 30 minutes, and unprofessionally they did not answer or call me back from the message i left. When i got into my car, it smelt horrible--like dirty water and cleaning products. I thought it was because it just needed to air out. The next day it was worse, my boyfriend even asked me what the smell was, AND HIS SEAT WAS WET!  I FINALLY got ahold of them on TUESDAY MID/LATE AFTERNOON even though i came in on SATURDAY. Granted it was a holiday weekend, but THEY HAD MY TRUNK so I figured they would have atleast called me back FIRST thing in the morning, seeing as I just paid $130 for a shitty job. My car was clean okay, but it doesn't look "detailed" and the smell was/is horrible. When they finally called me back the only solution was that they would redetail my car and give me back the rugs. MY CAR STILL SMELLS HORRIBLE, and I don't think their detailing is up to par. I even asked Elias for my money back and he refused, due to the smell alone. His solution was to buy me an "airfreshner" which is still not at my house, even though he said he was going to mail it to my house. My car smells horrible STILL, and Im still not satisfied. The problems were not exactly fixed, and I will not let any of my many friends with Kias go to this unprofessional dealership.  Please note I did not even go into detail about how RUDE the "assistant manager" was to me. I'm appalled at the service and unprofessionalism this place ha, it really needs to be completely gutted management wise, and they need to use CLEAN water solutions when cleaning people's cars. By the smell they are not, and thats disgusting,.

Juanita R. | 2013-09-09

Customer service was great. I like that there's always coffee and apples here. Wifi is helpful! The front girls too are very sweet. GO SEE ARA, HE IS THE MAN!

Melissa S. | 2013-09-07

If I could give this place zero stars, I would.

First, none of the employees know what they are doing. I "cosigned" on a car for my friend. AFTER signing docs, I get a TEXT message from a rep asking me to send them my pay stubs (after we signed and drove off with the car). I questioned it considering we had already signed and left. I specifically asked "If I don't submit stubs, will the deal be broken?" they replied "no". Ok, so why are you asking for it, and why would I submit it?

I called the finance department to verify. The rep told me he needed the stub. I got a call the following day from a different rep telling me they did NOT need the stubs anymore. The NEXT day I get a call from a completely different rep telling me they need pay stubs... I got upset at this point and went off on the rep. Couple hours later I get a call from a prior rep telling me I need to submit stubs, but if I don't, it's ok... really? C'mon now- does the bank need it or not?! (after we signed and left with the car).

Couple weeks later, I received the bill only to find out it was set up as ME being the primary buyer and the other person wasn't even included. I could have sworn I signed as a COSIGNER....? I call in KIA and the rep told me they would get back to me, and they never did.

I called again a couple days later to follow up on how this could be corrected, and he responds, "My manager said we can't do anything about it. Try calling the bank"... for sheer humor, I asked "ok, can I have the banks number?" and he replies "i don't have it handy. google it."   .... so, can you help me here or do you stop caring after you make your sale?

Please save yourself some time and sanity. DO NOT go here. Horrible HORRIBLE place!

Randall W. | 2013-09-06

No High pressure sales tactics!   Working with their Finance Department and their  ability to work with my credit and financial situation to make the deal happen was incredible.  They treated me like a person not a number!

The Fussy One S. | 2013-09-04

I am shocked to read others had a bad time at this location. I had a great experience yesterday when I brought in my Kia for a recall service. Elias helped me and let me tell you, this guy is awesome. He is honest about what you need, in no ways pushy but gets the job done with a super friendly attitude.

My only negative was the lady on phone had said the recall would take 2 hours max but when I arrived Elias said it would realistically take 4hours but he would try to get it back to me as quickly as possible.

Luckily I had the day off work, not much to do in the area but they have a comfy lounge with tv and air conditioning! Thank God because it was so hot in Downtown yesterday. Elias has to sit outside at a desk in the heat to talk to customers and he still maintained an incredibly friendly disposition as it progressively got hotter in the day. 5 stars for Elias! 4 for the super long wait.

Liz G. | 2013-08-19

Bought a car from these Dealership and i am truly speechless these people are just amazing the sales person Maya was super nice helpful  they treat you with respect and you get you moneys worth.
Huge thanks to Maya i will be coming back for more cars and i will recommend this place to friends and family!

Gary M. | 2013-08-16

AVOID THIS DEALER AT ALL COSTS!  After much back & forth, Maya gave me a WRITTEN offer on an Optima THEN would not honor it when I came in to fill out the paperwork.  This after the first car she was holding for me was SOLD THE NIGHT BEFORE I came to test-drive it.  And I wasn't told that before I kept my word and kept my appointment.  Nor did she have the courtesy to tell me she wouldn't be in that day (gee, wonder why?) and farmed me off to some other sales guy who was beyond clueless.   Might just be the worst dealership I've ever encountered in many a year of buying/leasing cars.  If I had a negative number it wouldn't be LOW enough.

Vardan B. | 2013-07-30

I want to thank armen apayan for his great service. He was very professional and have me a no hustle deal. I have gone to other dealers and spent so much time with them and did not get the deal. Armen made it happen in 1 hour I was driving off in my new Kia optima. Thanks Armen.

Berta M. | 2013-07-30

WORST experience ever!!! A bunch of lairs, I will never return there. I'm currently paying the consequence. A year ago I accepted a lease with option to buy. I came back exactly a year later to turn it into a purchase as i was promised. Once i was there i was asked for another down payment,  i refused because i was never told i had to give another one. Instead of my payments being lower they would come up another lie. Till this day I'm still waiting for a call back from Maritza and Victor. I was told to return 3 times to the dealership and those 3 times i was promised help and deals that never came true. In one of those visits Alan who is suppose to be one of the managers someone to help costumers even said to me "no one forced you to sign".  I spoke with almost the whole dealer there Victor, Alan, Norman, Maritza, Hassan and a few others. All a bunch of liars. This dealership needs their employees to take some sort of seminar were they can learn how to work as a team and be on the same page. Very disorganized group. Stay away if you don't want to end up in tears, being lied to and the worst experience of your life! KIA Downtown needs to get there employees back in to training!

THIS PLACE SUCKS!! The people they have working there are completely unprofessional and just give you the run around.  Usually when someone calls from a dealership and I can't answer, they usually leave you a message with their information.  Someone from this dealership keeps calling all the time and never leaves a message.  When I did pick up the phone the person stated that I couldn't get a price quote over the phone that I had to come into their dealership and get my credit approved first! WTF??!! So if I'm paying cash I need to get my credit checked first??? I also spoke to two managers and they were also idiots.  They would NOT give me any price over the phone even though I already had several price quotes from other dealerships.  I am NOT going to waste my time and money going here! EVER!

Alma L. | 2013-07-03

do not waste your time driving all the way over here!!

i came a couple months ago hear to inquiry about a car. they are not at all by any means to what they say!

they do not finance people with bad or no credit.
not at all professional.
my first visit was just having different people deal with me and pressuring me into finding a co-signer the same day & standing right next to me while im making a call to somebody !?!?!
who does that ?!?!

2nd time after back and fourth emails with one of the internet reps. i told her my situation.

i could;ve just done this from the my own home and possibly fax over a paper but instead wasted my time again !!!!

do not come here ! bad service !

avoid avoid avoid !!

I brought my car in for a check-up oil change... 6 hours later I was able to pick it up.  They told me I needed a new battery.  I brought in a perfectly good car and when I went to pick up the car, the battery was totally dead.  An incredible coincidence.  I brought the car back a few days later to have the odometer replaced.  (Luckily under warranty.)  Harry guaranteed me that I would have my car back by 6 pm.  I got the car back 7 days later!!  They gave me a rental, but still...    I also had them rotate my tires.  Harry apparently quit, so Ara told me I would need my brakes replaced soon.  The numbers were at 8 (front) and 4 (back).  I showed him the inspection report  they gave me a week earlier that said the brakes were at 8 & 6.  This place is sketchy.  I recommend steering clear.

Jody T. | 2013-06-25

I liked how accommodating, personable and "no B.S." Armen was.  I emailed him through ahead of time detailing out what I was looking for.  And even though I didn't provide the optional phone number, he got back to me right away with information on what vehicles did/didn't match what I was interested in.  He was fantastic.  The F&L process was pretty seamless as well.  We had 1st class service the whole time.  I highly recommend this dealership.  (Glendale Kia's Internet Salesperson admitted to me they don't reply back to leads without phone numbers with detailed vehicle information.)

phil b. | 2013-06-23

really small with inexperienced sales people    gotta blame management   not much inventory  bought a car right down the street with no hassle  and greater choices in same price range  good luck

Ishtar Y. | 2013-06-15

They say first impressions say everything.

So, as I am parking my car in front of the store and out of no where I see this young woman with straight black hair walk right in front of my car. As I am trying to park my car, she blatantly walks in front of me and sticks up her middle finger??? she doesn't even make eye contact with me as she slowly showcases her talent for being a BIEEATTCH .

She being a person on two feet rather than four wheels..  I guess it would be safe to suppose she assumes she wont be crushed by a crazy LA driver. ( There are alot in Downtown!! )

Shocked I think, whatever...we are in downtown..ppl lack manners here .., and fine; yes I am parking a car at about 1 MPH , but I should be very cautious of people who jay walk across the street and stroll right front of my vehicle.

The thing that bothers me though is that she kept her middle finger up for a GOOD minute or two... and I was in disbelief when I saw her walk into the Kia Store and sit down at  a desk!

Apparently she works there, and after that I thought ... that's a place I would never go into. Just an awful nasty  feeling. who would ever want to go into a place where people like her work at???

Katrina T. | 2013-06-13

Friendly and prompt service, fixed my issue with no debate about warranty, finished quickly, threw in a free oil check and car wash, clean waiting area.

Laura G. | 2013-06-11

My service rep Elias was outstanding! He went the extra mile and even washed my car for me - so fantastic.

Only negative: it was LONG appointment for a recall that was supposed to take an hour to fix. Two and a half hours later, I was on my way.

Alex U. | 2013-06-10

we recently bought our first brand new car. And we signed up for this deal and left with our brand new car. but then RAY, decides to wait a whole week, plus after we filled out his survey saying nothing but good things about him. calls us and says he has a better deal for us. So we get there and he gives us the run around for about a whole hour doing other peoples paper work while were sitting in his office waiting to talk to us. Rude. Anyways he tells us that the bank did not approve us for the deal we originally signed the contract for. Then he tells us and your payments are going to go up a bit. REALLY?!?!?! REALLY RAY!?!??!?!?! so he lied to us to con us into buying the car, waited for us to fill out his survey so he can get whatever he gets for that, then tells us well its not my fault its the banks blah blah blah. no it is your fault!! YOU LIED TO US TELLING US THE BANK APPROVED US ON THE DAY THAT WE WERE THERE!!!!!! WE SIGNED A CONTRACT !!!! AND THEN YOU CALL US A WEEK LATER AND TELLS US WERE NOT APPROVED WHAT WE ORIGINALLY SIGNED FOR!!!! SWINDLERS, CONS, LIARS!!!!! YOU NAME IT!!! THEY ARE IT!!!! NOW I CANT LEAVE A BAD REVIEW ON THAT SURVEY THEY ASKED US TO DO CAUSE WE ALREADY DID IT. IF I WOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT HE WOULD CALL US BACK AND DO THIS TO US. I WOULD NOT HAVE SAID ANY GOOD THINGS ABOUT RAY OR HIS MANAGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I  am sure every car dealership is like this but just so no one else has this problem with them.  DO NOT GET YOUR CAR HERE!!!!!

Monica W. | 2013-06-03

Had a great experience visiting Kia of Downtown. Worked with Eloy and Chris who were courteous, professional and extremely knowledgeable.  I never drove a Kia before, came on referral and was extremely impressed.  Drove away with a Kia Optima SX.  Originally they didn't have the color in stock however they searched for one and got me what I wanted the following day.  The experience was pain free, easy finance department, excellent customer service.  They will work for your business in a positive way and you will be pleased you visited Kia of Downtown..  I highly recommend Kia of Downtown.

Mindy C. | 2013-06-02

If I could give  the service department a minus I would. I brought my kia optima for a simple oil change and I had also received a recall notice the service tech Ara said it would take two hours, that was at 2 pm when we returned to get the car at 4 pm they had not touched the car . The service agent Ara said it would be done in a half hour. Amazing the supposed service that he previously stated would be 2 hours is now 30 minutes . I went and spoke with his didector and he instructed him to get a rental cad and arranged to have my car delivered to me. The car was returned and was damaged when I called to report this I have been given the run around. I asked to speak with the director and I am being he is not available he is in meetings. Maybe someone from Kia who cares about customer service will contact me becuase I am a very disatisfied .

i am very happy that this dealership helped me! i am so happy with my forte!!!!! look for armen he was amazing !! i loved my experience here everyone was so nice and helpful and made everything so easy as a first time buyer i felt that they really helped me and they walked me though the whole process and i didnt feel like they were selling me any car. i got the car i really wanted and all thanx to the hard work they guys are the best if you are in the market start here and thank me later !!!!!!!!

Fred A. | 2013-05-23

Great dealership. The customer service was excellent. I went in knowing what I wanted and how the process works. I told them not to haggle me and they didnt. I got a great deal on my new Forte. Finance was very professional and not pushy. The service department, Ara, has been a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend KIA of Downtown LA.

Leased a new car with Tim and Maya and had a great experience! I was previously negotiating for a deal in Glendale Kia but after a bad exchange, I looked for a different dealership that could help me out with the same deal.

Tim and Maya went beyond my expectations of what dealership customer service is like. On the day I purchased, I had called Tim repeatedly to make sure I understood the numbers and he was patient and helpful. And when I came down to finally get ready to sign papers, Tom came out and went through the numbers with me one more time and to answer the questions/concerns I had. Throughout the whole process, and after, Maya has been there the entire time. She is accessible and ready to answer anything and everything and continues to do so, even after my purchase. I figured they would ignore me after but I really appreciate how Maya has been on top of it and makes sure I don't ever feel neglected.

Since I'm a first time car leaser, I was very nervous about going to car dealerships and dealing with sales people but this team has really put me at ease. Of course I want the best deal for my car and when I had narrowed it down to two, I went with them because of accessibility and the way they treated me. I was treated with respect and they let me walk away to think -- they didn't pester me or guilt me and that was what won me over in the end.

Jeremy M. | 2013-04-30

Came here to purchase a new Optima and couldn't have been happier.

Maya and team, you guys rock. We love our car!

Andrey B. | 2013-04-30

I want to preface this review by saying that I'm not the person to rate a business at one star just because I found a human finger in my chili or sat on a coffee stained chair while wearing beige pants (thanks Scion of SM!). I realize that $#!t happens, but the $#!t that happens at this dealership deserves a 0-star rating, if only yelp were to introduce one.

I have never been this blatantly lied to my face before by any business in the US. I will shortly explain later. Also, their prices are crap and they are greedy beyond any reason. But that all applies to the finance department. The guy that helped us, Miles, was very helpful and one of the nicest people to deal with. If you're, God forbid, stuck going to this horrible dealership, at least get him to help you find your car. I'm sorry, Miles, that your management sucks so much. I wish we could have made the deal!

Here's a short breakdown of our experience at KIA of Downtown. On Saturday we came the first time, looked at cars, sort of settled on what we wanted. Talked about discounts, promotions. We left quite happy and determined to come back. The next day we came back, test-drove the car we wanted and by the end of the day received a preliminary number of what we were looking at.

On Monday we came back again and began leaning towards the Kia, rather than the other car we were looking at. So we started negotiating. Suddenly, yesterday's price was wrong and certain options were not included. Okay. New price. We didn't like it. We walked away. They call us back, offer $400 service credit. They won't lower the price, because they felt we wanted the car. Hang up. They call us again. The boss tells us to come in and he will help us. We come in for the final round of discussions. We pretty much made up our mind that we want that car, but there's internet and other dealers. Why are you being so stubborn? Even though they promised to help us on the phone, they won't throw in anything else. And even more amazingly, the $400 credit apparently is worth 2 oil changes. Is this Bentley or KIA? And then the usual bullshit about their computer not even allowing to lower the price. What am I, 5 years old?

Anyway, without committing to buy, we sign some papers so that they can get the car from another dealer and bring it here for us to look at. In the meantime we go over the financial papers. And here is the most interesting part. Everything else was just being greedy and evasive and pushy and not professional. But here they outright lie to our faces. Disgusting!

Lie #1: They have tried to present a $500 rebate as their dropping the price for us WITHOUT letting us know that it was a rebate and that using it forced us into a HIGHER APR. I always read what I sign and especially pay attention to prices and what they mean. I refused to pick up the car the same day, because they were being so pushy. I went home and researched some more and found out about their lie.

Lie #2: After giving us $400 service credit, they've explained that it would entitle us to 2 oil changes. Oil changes are $39 at the Garden Grove Kia.

Lie #3: They refused to accept their own initial offer after we have expressed interest in the car and then started building up the price.

Lie #4: When we said we wanted leather, they said they would install after-market for us for a reasonable price. However, as I found out later from another dealership, KIA prohibits dealers from installing leather in cars that don't come with it from the factory due to possibility of the side air-bags malfunctioning in a crash. This is a CRUCIAL SAFETY ISSUE that they have failed to identify to us in order to make a few extra $$.

In the end, we went on the KIA website and looked up the inventory to find the car we wanted. There was one in Garden Grove KIA. I called them and they gave me an excellent price and explained everything. We've dealt with Frank Smolkin, and my bullshit-detector didn't go off once. He gave us a great price straight up, lowered it some more later. He was very knowledgeable and straight-up. As we drove out to get our new car towards the Garden Grove dealership, the Downtown KIA people called us again and tried to pressure us to come get the car tonight. At that point I was fed up with their lies and very angrily told them everything I thought about them. Magically, their computer started working and they gave me a price 3000 below (!!!) what they offered initially. Even though this new price was lower than the Garden Grove offer, I still decided to drive for an extra 40 minutes to get a slightly higher priced car from a dealership that respects its customers. I support honest business.

Please don't deal with Downtown KIA. And definitely never-ever get the car on the same day. Go home, do some research, and then come back. Don't be a sucker!

Dedric T. | 2013-04-09

They get the job done...  Cost is high, but I guess it is expected when you go to the dealer.  They at least do what they say they are going to do, but not one thing extra.  Customer service was good, but the effort they are willing to go through to please a customer is not what I would hope for.

Phillip L. | 2013-04-05

Just awful. I'm not sure where to start when describing the overall service I received from this group. I STRONGLY suggest any future car buyers NOT TO BUY from this location. I was completely screwed over and now I am facing the consequences but am dealing with another KIA dealer in the suburbs. If you'd like to know the exact reason, please reach out to me separately.

Stay away from this location.

Blade T. | 2013-03-16

David was very helpful in getting me my car ASAP.  Convenient and friendly.  Would recommend.

We visited a couple weeks ago (because of our interest and nice associate on the phone), took a test drive (also with another helpful associate). We liked the Kia Sorento, but wasn't ready to buy. The part that really bothered... we were pushed to give another sales person our price, so finally gave a low number. His response was so rude, we left considering other dealers and cars. I never received a follow-up. We bought a Toyota Highlander the following week. It's sad but true, one bad experience can give one a distaste for a dealership and even a whole line of cars.

Arthur S. | 2013-01-23

So i went here for the radio advertised free lift tickets. i know they run out all the time, but hey that's why u call these places, so i did, and there was some girl named wendy that said that they had just got a fresh batch of tickets today. I tell her I'm going to be right there, and she even takes my first and last name to confirm that i am coming. i arrive 30 min later and the manager named victor seems to be waiting for me. He tells me that i never spoke to a girl named wendy and that she clocked out 2 hours before and that i couldn't speak to her. then he tells me that they ran out of tickets from the person that came right before me. now this seems odd because the place is deserted except for this manager, his name is victor something i don't really care. i ask why they would tell me this and they say they are told to do so so more people come in. now that to me is a scam ladies and gents, a pure scam. advertising something that you don't have and make people drive all the way across town to get it. When i told the manager i would write this review he said "so what who cares". straight up dick. fuck this place and fuck kia, all i wanted to do was to go snowboarding and they made me waste a bunch of gas. Please corporate deal with this horrible loser victor and get this place in shape

Kelly C. | 2013-01-03

We visited downtown KIA on new years eve and it was a great experience overall!  We met with Adrian and he was so patient with us. We test drove multiple cars and he is so knowledgeable about every vehicle. Car shopping can be a stressful experience but Adrian definitely made it a fun time.  When it came time to negotiating the deal Victor and Bill worked out a price and payment we were so happy with. At the end of it, Adrian even delivered the car to our home 30 miles away!  Go see Adrian at KIA downtown!  Awesome experience! We are now owners of a brand new KIA soul.

Harley J. | 2012-12-20

Everyone always complains about car dealerships... blah, blah, blah! I honestly had the best experience here. Trust me, I went to 6 dealers before finally settling on Kia of Downtown. By the time I got to Kia, I was just so frustrated with everyone else and coming here was like a breath of fresh air. They made the process so simple and straightforward. Anyways, I HIGHLY recommend this seemingly small but greatly staffed and stocked dealership!

Nihaahs E. | 2012-11-17

BBB and FTC should look into these guys. Deceptive advertising at its worst.
$40/month and $40 month deal is a scam. They have no cars for their advertised prices. It's only $40 for first six months then they make up for it by overcharging you for the remaining term. Then there is the $40 down which basically is $40 down , +++++++ which comes out to $2,000 down.

How to improve and get this review changed: 1. Stop lying. Offer a fair deal at a fair price. 2. When people call be fair and let them know the true deal. 3. If you offer $40/down and $40/month then that is what the deal should be.

Vee D. | 2012-10-10

David Hwang and Eloy really helped me out with a fantastic deal on a Kia Soul last night...

My daughter is 4 years old and has really responded to the new marketing campaign featuring the cute and funky hip-hop hamsters, and she has been begging me to buy a Black Kia Soul.  I know.  Cute, right?  ;)

Anyway, we went down to the location after getting in touch with the online division, and we test drive the car and fell in love instantly!  My old car had terrible gas mileage and with gas prices now soaring, I knew I had to make a change.

The Kia Soul is not only stylish, but has excellent gas mileage and we were so impressed with the interior design and expansive space.

The whole team was great helping to entertain my daughter.  They have great vending machines that take credit cards, and a flatscreen TV and comfy couches for the kids to enjoy while you sign paperwork.

They were really fast, and did everything they could to get us a deal that made sense for us.

Being a single mom I truly love these guys and the way they were able to take such good care of us and I highly HIGHLY recommend buying a car from this dealership.  Thanks, Eloy and David!  You rock!

Guru T. | 2012-10-05

we all hate car shopping... hidden and tricky clauses, sleazy salemen.. you get the picture
When I walked into Dtown Kia, I had my poker face on and was ready to grind it out. However, the guy I worked with, I think David was his name.. was super nice and upfront about everything, including how much he would make on the deal..
all in all a good experience,,, i left happy
i recommend them, no 5 star cause i hate car shopping.. if you go there ask for daivd, he's this super nice asian guy..

Nichole W. | 2012-10-05

I have a somewhat low bar for car dealerships after being used and abused many times before in LA-- so I wasn't expecting much when i walked into this place. Amazingly I didn't feel like total shark bait while chatting with the sales guy (Dave Hwang). He didn't try to push me too hard into any one deal and even helped me figure out if a new or used car would work better for me. Only 4 stars because I feel like I could have gotten more selling my old car privately than the trade in price- but I guess that's every dealership right?

Karin R. | 2012-10-02

I'm totally a fan of this place.  I came here because I was in town for a visit and went to check out a Kia Soul because my friend just got his car from there.  Let me tell you, BEST experience with David Hwang!  He's such a nice guy.  Knows what he's talking about and doesn't haggle you.  He got me such a great price on the car, I had to tell all my friends about him.  Plus prices are better down here then up north anyway.

Buying a Kia Soul at Downtown Kia was one of the best car buying experiences I have ever had. Both Leah Nelson and Bill Ellington did an outstanding job.

Leah is a very good salesperson. My initial contact with her was through an email inquiry. She contacted me by return email, found out what I wanted, provided pricing information and only then invited me down to take a test drive. She respected the boundary of my privacy. Leah contacted my by email as I requested. In my buying process, I requested from all dealerships that all contact with be made by email. Most dealerships ignored my request and made telephone calls to me that were unsolicited and unwanted. Leah did not. Again, she respected the boundary of my privacy.

Leah has a relaxed and inviting style. During the buying process she was focused on my needs, not selling me any car she could. I felt no pressure at any time. And, she got me a deal that went beyond my expectations.

Bill Ellington did a great job too. His focus was on my best interest. For example, he spotted some errors in the paperwork and corrected them to my favor. As was part of his job, he tried to sell me some add-on options. At no time did he pressure me to buy. He presented some options simply, described the benefit at hand and left the decision to me. Usually the F & I office is a high pressure experience, forcing options on the buyer as he or she is anxious to get the paperwork done and get the car off the lot. Other F & I managers would have taken advantage of a customer in such a state of anxiety. Mr. Ellington did not. He was cordial and accommodating as we signed the final papers. I found him to be extremely intelligent and genuine in his interactions with me. Again, at all times I felt as if his focus was on my best interest.

My experience was that Leah Nelson and Bill Ellington represented Downtown Kia above and beyond expectation.

This is by far the worse dealership I ave ever seen.   We called to make sure the car we wanted was there had them text a picture of the sticker to us, then we drove to la (from riverside) as soon as we got there I knew we were in trouble . The person on the phone who texted the picture. (Luz) turned us over to to Khaldon  who preceded to be full of s@@t . He asked if I wanted a test drive and I said yes I want to drive the one I am buying  and he starts looking in all the Kia souls for keys. ,I ask why are you looking I just want to see the one I am buying ,he says they don't have it anymore,  how since I got a picture of it an hour ago ,, then he says they sold a lot of cars today , basically just lies.  They tried to sell me a different car. I walked. They lied the whole time and wasted my time and gas ,, I was ready to buy but I will never go here

If you don't know what your doing when buying a car then Don't buy from here!!
I am an ex car salesman and know all the bs they put you thought, I needed a cheap car for my wife so I shopped for a Kia Soul, I found one at another dealer and got a great price, I decided to shop a little to make sure so i went to Kia downtown LA and they said they would match any deal, I know from experience that's a lie to get you in the door but I thought what the heck they have the color my wife wants anyway and maybe I will pay a bit extra because that's what we want, well the manager came out and told me they don't sell their cars at MSRP, they sell their Kia's at a premium above, so the the MSRP on the car I wanted was $16500, they wanted $21000!!!!!!!
I got up and walked out the door telling them "this in not an Audi R8" they chased me out the door and suddenly the price starts dropping by the thousand!!!!!! Each minute I was walking to my car it would drop more!!!!
I went straight back to Kia pros in Carson where I bought the exact same car for $15k,
Bottom line if I did not know what I was doing it would have cost me 5k

Kia pros stuck to the deal they quoted me, no bs

Don't go here unless you have someone with you who knows how to buy a car.

Kaitlan B. | 2012-09-05

I came in to get a new Kia Soul and worked with David Hwang. He is an excellent salesman and delivered my car ASAP. One of the best car buying experiences I have ever had! Buy your next car here!!!

Peter H. | 2012-09-03

Great experience!

I came here with my parents to help them find a new car and worked with David Hwang. No haggling, nothing shady, and no pressure.  He gave us exactly what we were looking for.

After visiting several dealerships, we settled on Downtown LA because of their excellent customer service.  Everyone was extremely helpful and we got the best deal in town. We still hear form Dave just checking in and making sure everything is going well.

Only downside was finding a parking spot.

Mark G. | 2012-08-06

Past experiences at Glendale Kia I am pleasantly surprised and very happy with the service I received from the team at downtown Kia. Juan was fantastic. I'm leaving with a clean car and work done as promised. Great customer service!
