Two range rovers from here and both experiences have been fantastic, but the reason I write is how great they are after the fact... We just turned in one of our rovers and forgot to retrieve some of our daughters stuff out of the seat pocket. Donovan went above and beyond the call of duty in helping us get her stuff back, and he wasn't he even our original salesman. Way to go Donovan!!! We will continue to get our rovers from you guys and now from only you!!!

I had the pleasure of dealing with Jagger when I bought my new Range Rover and he made my experience a great one!  He is a no-pressure type of guy and didn't try to "sell" me purchasing a car, which I loved!  He communicated to me via text message and didn't annoy me with constant calls.  He worked out a great deal for me price wise without me even asking!  He was 100% transparent and genuine.  I'm so thankful that I ended up working with him!

Although we did not purchase a car here, there was one model in particular we were after.  Met with Sy.  Top notch guy.  No pressure. He let us take our time. Let us see service records.  Let us mull it over. Elizabeth Obst is the only name you need to remember when purchasing a Rangerover or Jaguar. She has sold me 3 Rangerover's over the years, she is smart, knowledgeable, patient, has a sense of humor and she took really good care of me. Just Leased a new XJL Best lease deal from  San Diego to Santa Barbara to Phoenix  we live in the Palm Springs area and searched  everywhere for a great deal. I was on line for weeks searching WISH WE HAD CALLED HORNBERG FIRST!!
I received a straight forward no nonsense deal from Hamid the sales manager. We agreed on numbers then smoothly finished the sale with Donavan. What a super nice guy. TJ (I believe that's his name) in the finance department  thoroughly explained all of our documents and in no time we were driving home in our brand-new X JL .

Typical car dealer. Was finalizing the purchase of a pre-owned LR3. Financing approved. All I had to do was pick up the car. All of a sudden phone calls and emails stopped being returned. Called the dealership pretending I was off the street inquiring about the cat. Found out car sold to someone else right from under me with no warning. Typical car dealer. No integrity. Guys in this business will screw their own mother if it means they can move a car. Did I mention this would have been my 4th Rover from this family of dealers?  Incredible.

Hornburg Jaguar Land Rover Santa Monica is a very helpful and friendly. I did not feel forced to purchase a car. I came in one day test drove a Brand New Evoque and thought of the purchase for a few days. I never got any annoying calls and when I was ready to make a deal they were more than helpful and extremely friendly. I will recommend this dealership to all family and friends. Management  should have stated so, instead of making a person of a certain age wait two hours. We purchased 2 cars previously paid in full. please do not mislead REPEAT customers  when you say you going to make it work... then you can't. I made sure and let everyone know from the get go ( no title,half amount-down  and going to keep a car of a large value in your lot?)...and then tell me I need to pay in full just at the last minute of the final transaction!
if it  did NOT work for hornburg or didn't trust us based on our previous two fully paid purchases. Then tell us and we would have left... don't make people wait and then say California law states. a copout from your management.also please don't mislead people saying VIP service when it just didn't exist. your management team was not righteous.

I bought my Range Rover from ANNIE CARDONE and what a great experience! To my surprise, Annie took the time to make sure all my questions were answered and made what I expected to be a typical purchase way, way more enjoyable than I could've anticipated.  She wasn't pushy and let me just do my thing on the lot.  I like that.  There was never any pressure to buy anything!  The process was a lot quicker than I expected, too.  

On a personal level, I felt that Annie was genuine and really had my best interest at heart through the entire process.  I completed trusted her and all of her suggestions were spot on.  

I love the car and I love the service!  I will be buying my next car from Annie, for sure!

Donovan Thompson, remember that name!   He is the ultimate salesman.  But, the best part is he does not act like a shark.  The guy demonstrated excellent customer service and provided me with a no haggle bottom line payment on a lease.  I visited several dealers when looking for my Jaguar F Type and was promised the best payment,  he completely blew them out of the water!  Not only that, but hes a man of his word he got me the exact car that I was looking! Several other dealers tried to sell me models I did not want. Last, but not least, TJ Boldt the Finance Manager ultimately put everything together and made it happen!  Thanks guys

December 20, 2014 was my first time visiting Hornburg Jaguar on Sunset and was greeted by Dino. He offered his assistance but was not pushy at all. He let us roam and check out the cars without hovering over us and seeming eager. We chose this Jaguar dealership because online research showed that they had the best deal on a Jag. I truly thought we would get there and the deal we saw online was just bait, but it wasn't. We walked in and the car was sitting right in the middle of the floor.

I was still interested in a MB, BMW, Lexus, and Camaro; however, a Jag has always been my number one choice if I got a great deal. Dino did not have the exact car I needed available for test drive, but promised to have it the next morning. I guess he saw how serious we were about purchasing so he decided to let me test drive the car on the showroom floor, which was very nice because it's not easy to get cars out of their showroom.

After driving the car, I still was not sure if I was going to go through with the deal so I told him that I would call him the next morning after I thought about it and he was totally cool about it. He did not have an attitude or walk away from us. He advised me that I needed great credit to get the deal I wanted, so I signed a credit report for him to run my credit the following morning if I called and said that I wanted the car so that I would know where I stood before going down there (this was strictly at my suggestion). I called him the following morning and told him that I wanted the car and to run my credit. He called back and told me that my car was gassed up and ready for pick up. I was excited because that was so easy. I went down there and signed papers, which took at about 1.5 hours plus he went over some key features of the car. We actually liked Dino because he seemed genuine and personable. I don't have anything bad to say about the experience.

I have only had the XF 2.0 for about 6 hours now and so far I love the Jag. Honestly I am a bit scared to drive it because it's new and such a sexy car. I am so comfortable with my Toyota, so it will take time to get used to this one. I must say that since I am short, I do find that the dash is a little higher than I would like. I'll update this review if I can think of anything else to add months from now.

I went to this dealership to see their Land Rovers and buy a used LR4 which is still in a great condition and has warranty on it. I had visited few other dealerships including the other Hornburg in Santa Monica Blvd, IMX in Burbank, and Carmax, as well as several online resources and websites. In my initial visit to the Hornburg dealership in Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, I was greeted by Sy Fields. He was a very polite, patient, and professional sales associate. During my visit he explained all the options in details including all the certified vehicles that have warranty extension, all the different options and packages. He also showed me all the models that I asked for as well as some other options that I might interest me.When I left the dealership I went to another one and then I made some other research online. Finally I came up with the conclusion that the options that Sy Fields gave me were the best among all the others in terms of the value, warranty and the vehicle condition, especially the cleanness and the interior and exterior color. The next day I went back and finalized the deal. However since it was almost 5:00 PM I couldn't get the check from my bank. Sy kindly helped me to do all the paperwork, pick up the vehicle and come back the day after to drop off the check. He also spent quite a good amount of time to show me the various systems of the car, even how to bend seats although he already showed me a lot of things during our test drive in West Hollywood. I picked up the vehicle and the next day gave him the check. I had a very good experience at Hornburg in Sunset Blvd and I owe all of it to Sy Fields for his helps and professionalism. I recommend if you want to buy a car there, make sure to ask for Sy.

What a shit show!!

I wish they had a negative star option - as I can't even give them one star.

I have taken my vehicle there 4-5 times for repairs or problems.  I cannot recall one time that I walked away with a good experience.  On the last visit - I ordered a replacement key for my Range Rover.  I had to return to the shop 3 times in order to finally get a key that worked.  Having to take off work 3 times within a  month to get a new key for my car is absolutely horrible.  Not only did the staff show no remorse for the situation - they showed nothing but poor customer service when dealing with my obvious frustration. The other numerous experiences for problems with the car were just as horrible.  The motion detection unit I paid hundreds of dollars to replace has still never been installed properly.  The second to last time I brought in the car for a Warning notice that said a tire was flat.  After hundreds of dollars to fix - I still drove off the lot with the same warning sign - and then had a flat tire 2 weeks later.  The people here show no care or interest in the customer - which is sad with the amount of money they charge for their services.  Skip the bottled water in the lobby - and spend the money on customer relations and skilled employees!

I have had my Range Rover for 5 years - and am in the market for a new car.  Due to the experience alone at this repair center over the last 5 years has convinced me to not purchase through Range Rover again.

Today was my 2nd time doing business at Hornbugh on Sunset with DINO! He is the best sales person hands down. And a consummate professional! The car I wanted was not available, on their lot, so he located it for me and had it delivered to his store. He also made the entire process easy and fast by faxing me the credit application. Once I arrived, Dino walked out,  greeted me with a warm smile and a hello Yvette. He showed me the car and explained its functions in detail. After  signing the paper work, I was on mY way.

DINO made me feel comfortable throughout the process. No hard sale, just friendly, super professional and honest service.

After many calls to other dealerships, who were heavy handed with their sales techniques --  I called into Hornburg on a Friday afternoon - to inquire about a new XF lease. I was greeted by Dino, who not only answered my questions; but also told me that he did not have this model in stock; but he would locate it within the hour. Sure enough,  after an hour I received a call from him, notifying me that he found my preferred vehicle.

Thereafter, Dino sent me the credit app via email and we worked out the terms over the phone. Over the next day and a half, Dino kept in close contact with me - i.e. calling when he said he would and he kept me fully informed on all developments, including: the locale of the car (on its way to Hollywood), the status of my lease app and the trade/sale prices for my current vehicle. He probably called me 5-8 times (briefly) throughout the time period.

By Sunday morning, my car as in stock and I headed for the dealership. I was greeted by Dino, who immediately showed me the vehicle and had me finalize the paperwork. Thereafter, he introduce me to Andrea in Finance (who was also very helpful and courteous).

Finally, upon receiving the car, Dino showed me each feature in detail and tethered my iPhone to the infotainment system. He even called later that evening from his personal cell number to make sure that I was happy and satisfied with the overall buying experience.

In closing this review, DIno/Hornburg have an old-world small-town vibe towards business. He kept his word all along the way and made sure that each detail went smoothly. As this entire process took less than two days and it was very easy -- I will be doing business with DIno/Hornburg again.

A few years ago, I purchased a 2007 Range Rover HSE from Hornburg in Newport Beach. Sadly, that car was totaled in a freeway accident earlier in the month (not my fault). Our Range Rover kept my wife and me so safe that we walked away from the collision completely unharmed, while the passengers in the offending mini-van had to be extracted from their vehicle and taken to the hospital by ambulance. We knew we wanted to replace it with another Range Rover. I had been scanning AutoTrader for a few weeks and finally located a gorgeous 2008 Range Rover HSE fully equipped with the Luxury Package with only 41,000 miles that had just arrived on the Hornburg Los Angeles lot. My wife and I had the extremely good fortune of being assigned to Shaun Hinson who is Hornburg's pre-owned auto specialist and charged with internet sales. Shaun is a very young, friendly, enthusiastic, honest and earnest person. We immediately liked him and felt instantly comfortable. He quickly pulled out the vehicle we were interested in. After a quick inspection, we went for a test drive around the swanky neighborhoods of Beverly Hills. We were extremely impressed with the performance, maintenance and appearance of this vehicle. We knew it was the one for us and asked Shaun to "make it happen". Shaun politely explained that the advertised price is the price and like CarMax, there is no price negotiation. Shaun further explained that Hornburg does constant pricing research to insure that their prices are the most competitive in the entire area. I also did my market research and already knew this was the best price in all of Southern California for this model, in this superior condition and with this low mileage. Hornburg offers their clientele a 5 day price guarantee for like-kind dealership-owned vehicles within 100 miles. Since the purchase, I have been scanning AutoTrader and so far, I still cannot find a deal that even comes close to the one Hornburg offered me. I purchased this stunning luxury vehicle for the same price of a new, well-equipped Honda CR-V!  It took only about 2 hours from first walking through the door to driving away with my new (to me) Range Rover. Shaun efficiently took my application, arranged financing, verified my insurance and finalized the sales documents. While accomplishing these tasks, Shaun had the vehicle fully detailed, even though it was already immaculate. The next morning, Shaun called me to see how I was enjoying my new ride and encouraged me to always feel free to contact him should I require any further assistance. All I can say is that Shaun is a CLASS ACT, the entire staff at Hornburg Los Angeles were professional and friendly and I love my Range Rover. Thank you! Thank you! I am a very satisfied customer!!!

I saw some 'Tudes while sitting in there - Just walk in and ask for MONICA. Yes, she's a chick but she's been in the business for a long time and knows not only what she's selling, but can compare and pull up data from her cute Columbian brain regarding other cars for comparison. I purchased the 2014 Range Rover Sport (OMG!!!!) and I got all the information I needed via text message, came in and the whole god awful experience of buying a car was done in 20 minutes. Terrible service department! First off, the location is in a complete shithole section of Hollywood with tons of bumps and dips and all sorts of crap on the road. Your car will get crap all over it just pulling into the lot. As for the service department, they ripped me off immensely by using an aftermarket cheap POS window regulator for my 3-year old XJR that was under warranty. It failed after 1 year and I barely put 2000 miles on the car..of course right out of warranty. Made me waste another 500 dollars putting a new OEM unit in at another shop (Just Jaguar in Sherman Oaks are AWESOME by the way!). This is most likely a front. Just saying.

It's been a week since I got my new car and I'm really happy about coming here, which is close to my house. I came in for an F type and both Elizabeth and Monica were so helpful. Yes, they don't treat you like most car dealers do (trying to sell you a car) but that's what I liked- no pressure. When Martin puts a special on a car, it's really unbeatable. Not even galpin jaguar compares.
Elizabeth "Lizzie" was so knowledgable about the f type (bc she has one too!) and so patient with me after coming back a few days of indecisiveness. Martin offered to buy my BMW 3 series and I think it was a fair price even though I didn't take the car anywhere else for offers. Martin was also really sweet. If I were to come back I would only come to Elizabeth. The other guys seem way too competitive and not friendly at all.
If you want excellent service with pushy car salesmen and lots of options: go to galpin.
If you know what you want and don't want to waste time (plus get a good deal) you should definitely come here.

Hands down the worst experience of my life.  Made me jump through hoops to pay CASH for a new RR and waited until I had wired 90k into their account to tell me they wont sell me car due to some stupid Chinese Exporting problem...me..an italian jew from NYC.  In every single way this place was horrible and from the looks of the other Yelp reviews Im not alone!  FYI...$$ still hasnt been returned into my acct!! If there was a zero star rating I would hv chosen it.  Disgraceful.

Typical fast talking car salesmen....  Full of baloney and obviously no education is needed to be a car salesmen. Personally I would stay away from all Hornburg dealerships. As much as I love Range Rover's their sales guy ruined it for me.  I nearly had to get my legal involved to get him to stop emailing me after I told him I wasn't  interested in doing business with him. I then called Newport Beach Hornburg and the experience was even worse.  See my review there... I will find another dealer to buy all of my Land Rovers from which for the record is a new one every 2 years.

FYI don't bother responding asking to call in like you have with all the other unhappy customers... I wouldn't call if you gave me a Range Rover for free!

I would prefer to give this place no stars at all.  Our recent visit began with no place to park in their lot as it was so over crowded with cars (not customers).  Walked in and looked around for a good  10 minutes without so much as a greeting.   We finally had to ask if there were any sales people who could help us.   The three men I spoke to looked at me like they could not be bothered.  Finally, one offered to come over.   He was so obviously disinterested in offering us any help!   Sadly,  we really did want to get a car.   We were told if we wanted to test drive  we would have to come back for an appointment.
Very poor customer services.    Perhaps we did not look like people who would buy a Jaquar, but that is not excuse for the lack of service in this establishment.  Obviously they do not care whether or not they sell cars.

I drove all the way from San Diego to pick up my new Jaguar xf and it was well worth it.
Martin whom I had only dealt with over the phone and Web arranged everything and even gave me top dollar for my old BMW x5 sight unseen.  I was fairly nervous doing this transaction without ever visiting the Dealership plus the car was customized.
But in the end Martin Dodsworth delivered on everything he said he would, there were no hidden charges or fees and the car  came out AWESOME !!
On top of all of this I saved around $5000 going through Martin
Awesome experience.

It was worth the drive to buy my vehicle outside of the Hornburg monopoly even though they told me I was not allowed to shop outside of the area for new RR.  Are you kidding?!  

Historically purchased two cars in 2005 & 2010 from these folks.  It is like pulling teeth from this unappreciative business to just be a customer.  I just shopped a new RR there and ended up buying it at another dealership where the experience was light years ahead of Hornburg.

Very poor first experience. Walked in with my husband to get information on - and possibly test drive and purchase - the new F Type and we were greeted by... Oh wait, we were not greeted at all. Or paid any attention to.
After waiting for a reasonable bit, I walked to a salesperson who was idle in a corner, and asked to be helped. I was told, without preamble, "2 minutes". Ooook... After waiting 10-15 more minutes by the car, a woman with a badge walked by. I asked her if she could get someone to help us. Can you guess what she said? "2 minutes". I figured this dealership just runs on a different clock that the rest of the world, walked out, and won't be coming back. Thanks for nothing Hornburg :-)

Having owned nearly 15 cars in my life,this was the 3rd purchased at a dealership,the 2nd from a major car dealership. I originally called and they do not negotiate on their certified used inventory.This irked me initially because the price was lowered over a span of several weeks.....After the price dipped to an ideal price I called Natalie P. and she was very sweet and wasn't aggressive at all. I went in and the car was there waiting in front ,looking immaculate.
 Went on a nice test drive with her and bought the car in a flash. She was outstanding as was the finance specialist (I wish I remembered her name,but she has the fake spilled coffee cup on her desk) .
 I originally negated the "super duper deluxe eternal supernal warranty" but after a good sincere sell from them I elected to buy it.
 I spent thousands more than I wanted,as I didn't need even need a new car nor the extra warranty, but felt and feel good having spent it. As a salesman myself, that is the great measure of a perfect sale.
 With the setting being on Sunset Blvd in Beverly Hills - I am not a wealthy Hollywood type ,but I did not feel intimidated nor neglected being there at all. The staff was very professional and considerate,including the receptionist and other finance people whom interacted with professionalism and support during the sales process. Natalie is a doll and it's a great place to buy a car.

I bought a land rover here a couple years ago & EVERYTHING went wrong with it. I mean E V E R Y T H I N G! I bought it brand spanking new & after 1 week, the driver side window fell out! I was like "WHAT THE #!@%?!" After they fixed that, a few weeks later the passenger window fell out. A few weeks later the sunroof broke. A month or two later the engine overheated. Every time i would valet here in L.A. I'd sweat my nuts off wondering if the valet guys were gonna be able to start it back up again...which often it did not. -(talk about embarrassing). The battery needed to be replaced. The list of problems goes on & on & on & on. Owning this car made me hate driving & got me depressed every time i got into the death trap. -(oh i nicknamed my land rover "death trap" b/c the brakes always slipped. -I even got into a car accident b/c of it).

I called the dealership & raised hell about the car being a lemon & they said theres nothing more they can do besides fix things as they arise....& suggested i contact land rover corporate, which i did. Landrover Corporate sent me a gift certificate for my troubles only to be used...(wait for it)....at land rover service centers. yep. Thx a lot ya D-bags.


I now own a BMW 6 series ....& it ROCKS! I love driving again...& I'm happy again. but i SHAN'T (thats right shan't) forget this hellish experience.

I give one star for a good overall inventory of Land Rovers among the four Hornburg Dealerships but, apparently, they are not in a hurry to sell them and this has NOTHING to do with the costs or negotiations. I have contacted Land Rover, USA to complain.  They claim that this is not the type of practice they encourage among dealerships.

I have purchased a number of cars in my life.  When I buy a car I do a lot of research into the particular brands and models I am interested in and then compare and contrast offers and inventory at a number of local dealerships.  Typically I purchase a new vehicle because I tend to really enjoy what I buy and end up keeping them long past the time that I have paid them off.  

In my Internet search of a couple specific Land Rover models in my area here Southern California, the Hornburg dealerships come up in the top two or four of dealers in my Google search.  Obviously they have paid well for Internet positioning.  I do not mind this because I tend to think that this means they will have a better selection of cars and sales people willing to work to find you what you want and close a deal.  I guess my logic, which has always served me well, is flawed in this case.

I wrote to the dealer about a specific 2013 Range Rover Sport HSE which had approximately 16K miles on it.  It was being sold as "New" because the SUV had never been registered and was a "Demonstrater".  I had a few questions regarding this vehicle before I made a decision to have a look at it.  Shortly after my email I received an automated reply from the dealer and then a call from the "Internet Sales Manager" by the name of Natelie Payne.  She seemed a bit green and lacked immediate knowledge and the specifics I was interested in knowing but assured me she would speak with her "manager" and get back to me with the information I had requested in short order.  I emailed her following my conversation to stress the points I wanted answers to because I felt she may not have understood what I wanted and that I was very interested in this car.  I recalled that she did ask where I lived, which I thought was odd.  I I figured it was possibly a question to size up my ability to buy this car and if I was a serious customer.  I answered her question without hesitation.  Apparently, that was the wrong thing to do.

I did not hear back from her so called the next day at both numbers I had for her.  I left voice mail at each.  Still no reply.  The following day I reached her by phone and introduced myself again, refreshing her memory of who I was and what vehicle I was interested in.   She did recall who I was and what Range Rover I was interested in, which was still available.  During this conversation I was told one of the oddest things I have ever heard.  Apparently, because the vehicle was being sold as "New" and that there were two other Land Rover dealerships close to me, they were unable to sell me a New vehicle because of Land Rovers non competition clause between the dealerships in a specific area.  I had to ask for clarification because I thought I must have misunderstood her.  The car was still advertised on the Internet and on the dealer web site and still available but, I COULD NOT BUY IT BECAUSE I LIVED CLOSER TO TWO OTHER DEALERS!?  WTF?  Seriously?  I told her this is not possible and that anyone can buy a car here in the US wherever they so desire.  She told me it was the Dealers Agreement and Land Rover Policy not to do so if there was some conflict.  

I told her I wanted to speak to a Manager, she again told me she "was the manager".  Upon insistence, I was given the name of the General Manager, a Mr. Ali, whom I called and spoke with.  He reiterated the exact same story and and stated that even if I were paying cash he could not sell it to me because of this agreement with Land Rover and local Dealerships.

Needless to say, this practice is illegal and anti competitive, if nothing else.  

This entire experience has not only soured me on the Hornburg family of dealerships (I guess they would not care because they do not want me as a customer) but on Land Rover as a brand.  If this company believes that they can force customers into purchasing a vehicle at a specific dealership, I can only imagine what other tricks they have up their sleeve.  I can not imagine having service issues and trying to have them resolved with this type of attitude toward customers.

Best of luck to Hornburg.  Shop elsewhere for your Land Rover or Jaguar.  You will be better served doing so.

I walked in today looking for a new vehicle, paying cash mind you, and my "greeting" was the receptionist, NEVER looking up from her phone while she was texting, in a monotone pathetic "welcome to hornburg"... I look over to see what this "noise" was and she's immediately back on her phone.

My mind instantly went to... I wonder if I put too much time on my meter outside. I was no longer in the shopping mood, even though the ONE salesperson who came to help me was very kind and helpful.

First impressions are everything, and they MADE an impression... the wrong one.

Just purchased my new Ranger Rover Sport and in a nutshell:

1. My sales rep Laura was helpful as could be given she was a newbie.
2. Yes they will call your insurance company regardless if you provide your most current proof of insurance
3. No they won't negotiate pricing (but they were the lowest within 100 miles)
4. Yes they will tell you that you cannot pay more than $5K on your credit card but will cave if tell them its a deal breaker.
5. Yes they will offer you water but nothing else.
6. No they won't fill your tank. Only $25 worth regardless of how much you spend.
7. Yes their trade in values are less than desirable. Better on your own if you have the time.
8. Yes the dealership is on the very busy corner of Sunset and Doheny with very limited parking.
9. Yes prepare to spend a least 4 hours making your purchase.
10. Yes the dealership caters to high income Hollywood type clientele and shows in  the jaded attitudes of some management. (not all just a few).

If you know this going in and stay in your happy place during the process, you'll most likely get a good deal.  Ask for Laura

I'd like to start off by saying I created a Yelp account just to express how frustrated I am with this dealership/service center, and I am hesitant to even give them 1 star as they really deserve 0 stars.

My nightmare with this dealership started last year in August 2012.  I purchased a 3rd party warranty through them which turned out to be a mess once I took my car for service.  To cut it short, my car was kept there for over 3 weeks, I was charged for rental car, and there were items missing from my car once I picked it up (the headphones that come with the supercharged model for the rear entertainment system).  I had repairs done to the car with their "genuine Land Rover parts and labor" as they like to call it.

After less than a year, I started experiencing the same problems with the car.  I called in to speak to the service person that had originally so called "helped" me, Larry.  I told him the problem and before I can even finish he said its not covered under warranty.  I explained to him that the repair service agreement I am holding clearly states "...the cost of installation is covered for 1 year from the date of sale with unlimited mileage.  Parts replaced during the new car warranty period will have the balance of the new car warranty for 1 year unlimited mileage, whichever is greater."

So what did Mr. Larry do after I told him this, HE HUNG UP ON ME! Now I have different ways of dealing with imbeciles such as Larry, but I figured the best way was to call back and express my frustration, because who knows what I would have done if I had driven to see him in person.  Of course he didn't pick up the phone, so I expressed what an idiot he is for hanging up on me which calmed me down a little bit.  

I have already filed a complaint with Land Rover of North America, and I don't know where that will take me.  In conclusion, STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP AND SERVICE CENTER!

My wife & I test drove a used car at Hornburg 3 weeks ago. We actually liked the car and really wanted to buy it, but Jason Thurman and the team at Hornburg just did not seem to want our business from the beginning.

Dealing with Hornburg was a unique experience. Even in my negative dealership experiences, I always get the feeling that they actually want me as a customer. At Hornburg I just got a strange, vibe of disinterest, what I perceived to be arrogance, and an overall lack of customer service.

First off, Hornburg is located in an unusually small building on a very busy corner of Sunset Blvd. It's not near any of the major freeways, so even though it was only a 10 mile drive, it took over an hour to get there due to having to drive down Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood. The car we wanted to see was located on the lot (tiny lot in the back with 20 or so spaces). We took the car on a test drive, but because of it's location, we were only able to drive it around a couple residential stop sign-filled residential streets and an alley. Very disappointing.

We were not ready to buy the car the day of the test drive, but I left my contact information expecting to discuss the purchase over the following week. I had a brief exchange over email that I initiated during which Jason told me that they do not negotiate on price. When he asked me what price I was looking to be at, I told him, and he replied with "I think we are very far apart on price" and never reached out to me again. However, over the last 3 weeks, they also reduced the price of that car 3 times. I found that to be slightly annoying and hypocritical. To me, a good dealership is honest, prices competitively, and cares about service. Don't tell me you don't negotiate price if you are repeatedly lowering your price at the same time.

The weirdest part is, that we really wanted the car (It's still there by the way). By the time of the 3rd price reduction, we were only a couple hundred dollars apart on price, but I never received follow-up from Jason. I could have just gone in and sat down and made an offer, which probably would have been accepted, but the indifference made me not want to do business with Hornburg. Overall, I just felt like this was a dealer that didn't care about their customers. In the end, I found a similar car in better condition with a CPO warranty for less at a dealer 80 miles away (Dutton Motor Company in Riverside, CA) that provided excellent service, and I was happy to make the long drive. It worked out in the end.

Just a note to the management at Hornburg: Whether your business is selling Kias or Range Rovers, a car purchase is the biggest purchase most of us will ever make outside of a house. It's a serious decision, and we have no shortage of choices of dealerships to do business with. In the end, car buying is a very emotional decision, and I just didn't want to give my hard earned money to a business that clearly didn't value me as a customer.

I finally committed to the purchase of a Range Rover Sport. My Internet search clearly showed this dealership's comprehensive inventory and competitive pricing. I tried desperately to avoid the drive by trying to deal with the local dealership in Rancho Mirage...that was a joke and I will review that experience under the appropriate heading.

Spoke with Jason Thurman on the phone and found him to be professional and likable. As a good salesperson should, he listened to my criteria and found the right car for me. As I have seen in previous comments, the dealership needs to use current technology to streamline their internal processing. Also, I had a trade-in and paid cash for the difference ....they require running a credit report! Why? Didn't want a ding on my credit unnecessarily , who would? Also, the payment policy is highly inconvenient. Jason needed to accompany me to my bank as I needed to provide a cashier's check . We then returned and had to wait for an additional two hours. For those reasons, I gave 4 instead of 5 stars.

After having a lackluster experience @ Hornburg Santa Monica, I ventured from the westside over to Hornburg Sunset Plaza in search of a new range rover. Truth be told after a few years I had some trouble with my 08 supercharged but could not seem to part with the brand as I love the look/feel and design of the car. It was time for an upgrade, and admit I would most likely be in another brand if it were not for the help/customer service of Martin Dodsworth (manager of Hornburg Sunset Plaza) and Kevin the salesman whom assisted him. They worked tirelessly to find exactly what I wanted and have remained in touch with me ever since. After purchasing my car I realized it was missing a pair of headphones for the dvd player  and when I called to inform them not only did they take my call they immediately sent a package to my home. Usually you drive off the lot and become invisible, but they have remained in touch to make sure all was well since my purchase. This is what buying a car should be about. We all know the car business is what it is- but having someone you can trust that is interested in a customers needs is a rare commodity and I commend the dealership for keeping this goal in mind. Thanks Again and I recommend anyone in the market for a jag/land rover to only go Sunset Plaza...

So, tried to get a Rover here but it didn't work out. First, if you are thinking about going here, you should know they are a volume dealer so their customer service isn't awesome. They'll move cars because they can negotiate lower prices with Land Rover based on the volume they sell so if you can get past the attitude that comes with that, you'll be fine.

Second, it's Hornburg policy to not accept wire transfers under 5k, and anything over 10k *requires* that a salesperson go to the bank with you to witness you doing it. That means, you can't do it online via your own account - they won't accept it. They also won't accept cashier's checks over 10k, and again require that you stand around at your bank and wait for them to meet you there to witness you getting the money from your own bank.

It's ...weird. And time consuming. And draconian. Then they won't take your insurance card because they need to call and confirm the policy on their own, which takes another hour of being on hold while you stand around. I stood around for an hour and a half while they tried to get their bank on the phone and couldn't, but instead of telling me they were having problems getting a hold of someone they just let me sit there. Bad stuff. Really frustrating.

This dealership won't treat you well, and honestly have some really crappy, frustrating policies that will eat a ton of your time (it *should* be just as simple as "Here's my ID, money and give me the keys" but it's not. Not even close.)

Go anywhere else.

For the experience that i had, this place doesn't even deserve 1 star! Never again will I send any of my clients here! I am an auto broker, a internet/fleet manager for Rusnak Audi and I've been in the car industry for 13 yrs and this is the first time that I wasn't compensated or shown appreciation for sending a client over to a dealership. They have some policy with their used cars that is "as is pricing" which i understand so i was just asking for a minimal fee just because of the time i spent with my client. So without even asking his sales manager or general manager if they can make an exception this time around so we can establish a relationship for future business, David Clark the "Internet Manager" just said no I can't do anything for you. I didn't even bother to argue but I still sent my client over there since it was the exact car that she was looking for. She ended up purchasing the car yesterday. I sent David a follow up email and he still hasn't responded. Not even a thank you for sending her etc. I regret sending her to see him. He didn't deserve that easy deal. So, to the reps. of Hornburg, because of David Clark I will not send any of my clients to this location or any dealership that has a Hornburg name attached to it ever again! For the prestigious brands you carry I'd expect better customer service from your employee. If it was me, I would have bent over backwards, grinded my managers or even come out of my own pocket to show how much I appreciated the business. And I know you guys made money off of my client. But this isn't the only site that I will express my thoughts. Be on the lookout for a review from better business bureau and other review sites.

drove up from san diego to get an XFR.  great service.  Jason was very down to earth and professional.  all the other sales reps were nice and chatted with us the entire time.  GM authorized a discount on an already discounted model which was very generous.  Look, if you're coming to a Jag dealer and you're pissed because they don't give you a 5-10K discount then you're better off buying a Honda.  Don't insult the car or the sales rep.  if you are well versed with this vehicle then you know what an incredible machine it is.  Great service, good people.  bought an extended warranty that was also discounted, Thanks Hamid!  I hate to see so many bad reviews and I wonder (as a previous long term LA resident), maybe it's not the sales rep that are assholes. maybe it's actually the customers!  West LA does have it's sense of entitlement.

Had the worst car shopping experience this last weekend.  I called on a RR dealer demo.  When i called iIasked Jason the salesperson about the car and how bad did they want to sell the car today.  He said really bad.  I drove an hour to the dealership on Sunset excited to purchase.  When i got there Jason was with another customer and put me with this english guy Chris.  Chris kept telling me they could not sell me the car for the price i wanted to pay. I said no problem what will you sell it for?  He said they will not discount the car at all.  I told him Jason said he would discount to get the car sold today.  Well after asking to see the manger 6 times, he was always busy, he came back with a $500 discount on a car that cost over $100,000.  They were rude and seemed to care less that i drove up, on a commitment that a real deal could be had. Rude & arrogant. When I told Jason this was the worst car buying experience i ever had, his response was "There's a first time for everything"  My mouth dropped. Don't waste your time, if it's to good to be true... Hornburg is awful.  LandRover should pull there dealership. I will call Landrover to file a formal complaint.  I encourage all to do the same.

Don't Bother:
They lied about the service records of the car I was going to purchase.
They were dry and aloof and seemed not interested at all in making a sale.
They kept me waiting on the showroom floor for four hours until finally admitting to me that they could not produce the service records (as previously promised) because the service which was a major tune up was not done. Bad way to do business, don't waste your time.

Everyone there acts like they are doing you a favor.  They have no respect for your time, they over promise and under deliver, and make the car buying experience very frustrating and complicated when it does not need to be.

Also, their cars are priced well above the market.  As another reviewer said, I am also surprised that people still shop there.  Unfortunately, I didn't read the reviews here before I went there.  Luckily, I did not end up purchasing my car there.

After wasting a week dealing with them, I went to another dealer that was respectful, honest and fair, and had a fantastic experience!

Again, do not waste your time at this dealer! Go elsewhere and ENJOY your car buying experience.

This review is based on a sales side.  I have no experience with service.

You'll see in my other reviews that they are typically pretty short.  A car being the second most expensive item we purchase, I felt it justified a more detailed review.

Located a preowned Range Rover Sport on their website....extremely low miles with a very competitive price.  Called up, and spoke to Manar - immediately felt comfortable with the guy.  Open and honest.  He says they just got another  RRS in with a few hundred more miles on it, but it's certified (6 year 100k mile warranty).  The configuration, miles and price seemed a little too good to be true.  Basically told him we'd take it site unseen baring any major defects when we see the car. He tells us no problem, but can't promise when we can pick up because it needs to go through service first.  Immediately I'm feeling uncomfortable. Read some other reviews so I'm thinking we're being set up with a bait and switch or something.  I get Manar on the phone to tell him my concerns; he assures me everything is fine and explained that some people leave negative reviews about cars not being there as published because they sell very quickly and it can take 2-3 days to be removed from all published websites.  Apparently they have adjusted their pricing methodologies to more reflect that of Carmax.  They search local and national prices, then price the vehicle as competitively as possible...lowest price, no haggling.  I'm feeling more comfortable at this point and decide to go through the financing pre-approval process with them.  They come back about .5 over lowest published rate.  Seems fair...will skip the trip to the bank.
Manar is off the next day, but tells us to speak with his business associate David Clark.  We call David at 11am to ask when the car will be ready - he said he's hoping before the end of the day, but he'd have to get back to us within an hour.  45 minutes later, he calls back and says it will be ready at 4.  Excited to get this deal done, we head out to check out the RRS.  When we arrive it's getting washed up...looks great, exact car described and offered by Manar.  Take it for a test drive - perfect.  While in the shop getting the inspection, they changed all 4 tires, new brakes and even front rotors.  David did a great job explaining the details and getting us off to finance quickly.  Sitting with the finance manager (forgot his name) he tells us that he was able to do better on the rate - .15 under lowest published..WOW!  That certainly made the deal that much sweeter.

Overall PERFECT experience.  All the people we dealt with were professional and very nice.  Will definitely do business with them again.

They use to be good but service has gone down lately. They gave me an estimate of $700 to get brakes done & I got them done somewhere else for $200. 2 days after they serviced my vehicle the check engine light came on & I was on the road. I called & they said bring it in when you get back. A month later I was back took it in but they didn't have time so I took it and they said no problem to use it just watch & make sure it doesn't flash which it never has. Took it in the other day when I got back again & now they want to charge me $158 just to check to see what is wrong & then whatever it cost to fix on top of that. Also told them that my spare tire might be loose & they said they had to charge me to check that & if it needed to be tightened they would have to charge me for that also. Spoke to manager & he basically said to bad. I would not ever do business there again. Use to be friendly & work with you now the have 0 customer service & are not friendly. I had been taking our car there for 5 years but never again. FIND SOMEONE ELSE THESE GUYS ARE RIP OFFS!!!

This review is based on both their sales dept and their service department (which is located on Wilcox, just off Sunset).

Let me start with the Service Dept (or where do I even start!!!?). I've owned a number of Jags, Land Rovers and Range Rovers and unfortunately Hornburg are the closest to go to for replairs and services etc. You cannot believe how useless these service people are.....it beggars belief! On a number of occasions I have handed my car over to them with a problem, only to receive it back with multiple problems (on one occasion some body work hanging off my car!). When I've highlighted these issues in the past, the service team have looked at me blankly as is to say "what do you want me to do about it?"........eh "it's your bloody job to fix my car!". Another thing they became notorious for in my dealings with them is NEVER returning my calls, it got to the point where I seemed to know all these guys by their first name, because I would end up calling one when the other would not return a call. Honestly, these guys suck........so much so that I now buy off Land Rover Pasadena (and Newport Beach) and even drive the extra distance to actually get some decent service.

When buying my last car, I went to the Hornburg showroom on Sunset, and after a number of their sales team blatantly blanking me.....one english gent came up and asked if I needed help. Man I wish he hadn't! He fed me so much rubbish about the RR Sport that I was lucky that my ears didn't start bleeding, he spoke to me as if I didn't know my arse from my elbow about these cars....little did he know how much I love my cars! I called him out on some of the BS he was feeding me and literally sat in my car and drove from there to LR Pasadena where I bought my new car later that day as it was a much nicer experience.

Hornburg LA really, REALLY completely suck! I will never buy from them and never have my cars serviced by them again. It's just such a shame as I love me some RR's, LR's and Jags and they are right in my neighborhood!

BEWARE: Worst experience ever

Hornburg Jaguar made buying a car more complicated than it needed to be.

1.) Would not take payment from third party. "All money must come from the person whose name will be on the title"

2.) Would not accept a cashiers check from the bank. "Our Policy, we only except wire transfers for amounts over $15,000."

3.) Why do you need to run my credit if I'm paying cash? Why do you need a thumbprint? "We want to know who we are doing business with?

4.) I have proof of insurance. Here's my insurance card. "Sorry we have to speak to someone at you insurance company to verify this is a real insurance card"

Calling the Jaguar dealership in Santa Monica to confirm Hornburg Jaguars "policies" they claimed they never heard of anything like that before.  Doesn't make since why they wont accept a cashiers check when people buy homes for more money with the same kind of check. I hate to think these things were racially motivated but we all know it's out there and this experience smells fishy.

Bottom line, I love my car but I would NEVER do business with Hornburg again. So much that I felt compelled to write a review to warm others of my experience.

I am reviewing the Hornburg Jaguar Service Department.

I have taken my Jaguar to them twice now. Both times, I have had to return the car back to the service department because the original problem would re-appear. ;(  

After the second servicing, though, the problem, each time, was fixed correctly.

They did not charge me for the second servicing. But this left me without a car for a second time. You all know how it is in LA. ;/  I have been to other Jaguar dealerships (in CT) that would provide me with a rental car. Hornburg Juguar (Service Department) does not have this policy.

After a year long search for one  of my dream cars, I found my beloved Lotus Elise 2005 (Ardent Red) at Hornburg Land Rover and Jaguar. Lotus Elise is a difficult car to find used, and Hornburg happened to get one in from a trade-in. They had the car in the front lot, and it was a very popular item.

I decided to test drive it. The Lotus is a true exotic sports car. The ride is rough and fast. It turns like it's on rails, and it's almost impossible to get in and out of it because of its low height off the ground. Hornbug got this Elise in perfect condition with less than 4000 miles, and a totally brand new looking body. No scratches and perfect color.

The salesperson there was extremely helpful and enthusiastic without being pushy. She never tried to sell my the car or anything. She simply let me drive it, and then suggest that I call her if I were interested. She also offered to work with her boss on lowering the price.

I came back in the evening and bought the car. Hornbug is a professional, well-managed, and extremely pleasant place to buy a car. I bought my dream sports car without any problems. Although they don't have anymore Lotus Elise's there, they do have many Land Rovers and Jaguars. So if you're in the market for a luxury SUV or a classy Jag, I would highly recommend going to Hornbug.

Although I normally avoid dealerships like the plague, I've had only good experiences here.  They provide consultation rooms and a lounge/waiting area for you that is really pleasant (although at first, this made me nervous that my bill was going to be out of control) - they also offer a shuttle service so that you can leave your car and return when it's finished.  I've been twice for minor repairs to my Disco, and I'd definitely return.
