Brothers-in-law Allen Holzhauer and Roger Michael are proud to announce the recent opening of Volkswagen of Palm Springs. The dealership officially opened to the public on January 2, 2013 after months of planning and preparation.

Both Holzhauer and Michael have a long history in the auto industry, having worked together for years in Holzhauer family dealerships. Allen Holzhauer owns several dealerships of his own in the Midwest and Oxnard, CA, which are operated by his son and daughter. "I officially came out of retirement to start Volkswagen of Palm Springs with my brother-in-law Roger," he said. "I love working with him, I love the Desert, and I love German cars. I'm so excited to bring this dealership to life for the Palm Springs community."

I love the service department here. They are always friendly and willing to help. Adrian is my service advisor and he takes great care of me every time I visit. The technicians are superb, as well. They definitely know what they're doing and put in their due diligence with diagnosing and fixing issues. I absolutely recommend coming here for service on your vehicle. Not to mention, they get you in and out as quickly as possible. Two thumbs up from me!!

I just purchased a used Passat less than a month ago and I took my car to this dealership in hopes that they would be able to get the key out that was stuck in the ignition. I was still able to drive the car just could not get the key out.  I was immediately discouraged when the service representative told me that it is never a good thing when a key is stuck. Well for me that isn't a good thing but great money making for them!   That may be a  true statement but I would rather hear that they will be able to do the best they can to fix it.  Anyways they were able to look at the car right away and by right away I mean I waited about 15 mins and Faustino came back and quoted me over $600 for a new ignition switch and they may or may not be able to save the key and that would be another $180.  So basically an $800+ quote for a stuck key in less than 15 mins of determining that.  I would rather have paid for an estimate for thorough evaluation.  If any of you have a stuck key there are plenty of resources on the internet for help do not settle for what the dealership tells you.   This morning I was awakened by my boyfriend handing me the key. With a little jiggling and wiggling of the gears and a sequence of steps the key was in my hands. An $800 savings. Also I looked up the prices for ignition switches and they are about $50 tops so that is a heck of a lot of labor cost even for a dealership.  I am not a mechanic but really like to know how they came to the conclusion that is what I needed.  I kind of think they thought I was a sucker and would pay that out of desperation.   The key is still having some intermittent issues that will be dealt with but not by VW Palm Springs or any dealership mind you.  It would have been nice for certified technician to at least be able to get the key out without taking my every last dime.  First time there and if I can help it I will not be back there.

The key has been working for over a week now. The fix a $1.99 tube of graphite powder in the key. An $800 savings!!!  Unbelievable.

The service department is excellent! Fostino was great, and very professional. Came in twice to fix some of the many problems with my 06 jetta. Each time they were fast and reasonably priced. I am happy that my car was in good hands. However the sales team just wasn't that great. Seems kind of sketchy.... Couldn't get any real numbers on trading in my old jetta. Lost my confidence in making a deal here.

I spoke to Keith Stegall via emails, very quick to respond to any of my questions, we agreed to pricing, down payment and even rate over emails and was set to come in and take a look at the vehicle and take delivery, before setting a time with Keith I asked if the vehicle had a clean CARFAX, he replied that the vehicle did indeed have a clean car fax. so I made the trip from riverside to palm springs, over an hour long trip on a Sunday afternoon around 2:30-3p.m  upon arrival with my brother ( a certified Mercedes Benz technician and alignment expert) Keith was assisting another customer which gave us time to look at the vehicle. after a quick glance under the hood of the vehicle we noticed what looked to be overspray and began to inspect that section further, we then found spot welds and seem welds. obviously the truck appeared to have been involved in an accident. the rest of the vehicle looked great, but I didn't drive over an hour for a truck who I was told was clean and clear but ends up not being. Keith attended us and I brought up my concern, I still liked the truck and was still very interested but I didn't justify the price anymore because that was for a truck with a supposed clean car fax. after bringing up the issue Keith said "well it has a clean carfax"  which upset me because it was clear the vehicle was NOT clean. I then asked to see what we can negotiate on the price, to which I got a quick NO. how do you price a truck at 15,995 advertising it as clean and when it comes out NOT clean you maintain the same price? I asked for him to talk to his manager so we can work something out, he walked away and within ONE minute he was back saying no we wont move on the price, so I decided we didn't have a deal, I wasn't going to buy a truck that was advertised at a set price after being told it was clean and come to find out it is NOT clean and be expected to pay the SAME price. a manager never spoke to me, never called me, didn't even apologize for the inconvenience of making the hour long drive and waste of time. so buyer beware and make sure you look at every pre owned vehicle very carefully when purchasing from this dealer.

Took our CC to be serviced here. What a much better experience than we used to have in LA. The guys squeezed us in last-minute, were fast and efficient and actually charged less than their quote. Everyone was super polite and helpful and explained everything. I'd definitely come back here for our next service.

Horrible experience with buying a used car. Very dishonest. They tried to raise the price a night before I went to go pick up the car that I already put a deposit down. And lied about the condition of the car. Would never buy from this dealership.

Very happy with the service received on a 2002 Cabrio. Faustino helped us with no pressure and they seemed honest with what needed to be repaired and what could wait. After another vw dealership misdiagnosed the issue, this dealership found the real issue and the car is running well. Was less money than expected too.

Brought my 2013 Passat TDI SEL in for routine service today and was warmly greeted in the Service area by service writer Faustino. He was polite, courteous and professional. Took care of my needs and ensured I was comfortable while we waited. I spoke with Ron (salesman) about some of the different models. He too was a professional. This dealership has earned my business from here forward. The only thing that keeps this from a five star is our cell phone usb charger was stolen from the cigarette lighter. Beware of leaving anything of even slight value. I reported this and was told it would be reimbursed. I thought that was kind. They have courtesy cars for convienance as well.

I have had my Passat into the dealership where I bought the car (in Los Angeles) and the one I usually have it serviced at (Santa Monica).  I just moved down to Palm Desert and the air conditioning was blowing hot air that actually could burn!  It was fine in the morning but when the heat got over 100 - forget-about-it.

Well, long story short - I have been told three times there is no problem, when I got to PS VW they checked it out, replaced the compressor and I am back in business!  Best of all they were able to get me in and out in about three hours.  I hung out, worked on my laptop, had some coffee and was on my way!

I have to compliment the service dept.  I will be taking my VW to them from now on.  I'll let you know about the sales department when my current lease is up!

I had the most awesome experience last Thursday, where I encountered a sales rep named Philippe Morlot who was representing VW of Palm Springs at the downtown PS Street Fair.  I stopped to take a look at the VW diesel Beetle on display, and was very impressed with Philippe's knowledge as well as his friendly demeanor in talking about the features of the vehicle and answering all of my questions.  I have been considering a Beetle for some time, and I will now definitely go to VW of PS to make my purchase, hopefully from this wonderful sales associate Philippe.  It's so nice to interact with a business and a sales person, both of which are so professional and helpful.  A very positive experience!!

I tried to get my 20,000 mile service on my 2013 VW Touareg done this morning on December 16, 2013.  When I arrived at the dealership I saw many familiar faces.  It appears they brought all the people from Coachella Valley that have major attitudes.  Faustino acts like he is God's gift to the dealership while making the customer feel like he is doing you a favor by being there to help you.  The technician I saw picking up one of the cars was a technician that glossed over problems at the other dealership and is more interested in telling you his qualifications than actually fixing the problems.   So, I decided to give it a chance anyway.  30 minutes after arriving I was offered a ride to my home from the dealership who was driving a Bug with another person that had to go to Palm Desert first.  So, they wanted wanted me to ride in the back of a VW Bug to Palm Desert and back to Palm Springs.  

Another customer got to utilize a "Loaner Car" and I asked why I couldn't get one of those and Faustino said that this was a customer that had been in already and they couldn't repair her car the first time so she was in again.  Based on my experience with this group, I am not surprised they couldn't actually repair a VW.  That was my experience that I had with this same bunch at the Coachella Valley VW.  So, based on this, I decided to go back to the group that was amazing at customer service and forget about the convenience of this location in favor of positive Service experiences.

I am not sure about the sales experience but I am sure the service experience at this dealership will be exactly what I experienced with this group of service people at the other dealership.  Frustration!!!

I would give the Service department a zero star if that was an option.  Make no mistake this review is not based on an isolated incident with the service department.  It is based on dealing with this exact same group of people at Coachella Valley until they left of were let go.

After purchasing my last 5 vw's from paradise and now coachella valley vw my husband and I spent hours there a few nights ago wanting to purchase a new car. Although the sales guy wasn't pushy or aggresive. ..they couldn't work with what we wanted to get our payment where it needed to be. We left. I simply called Art Vance at palm springs vw told him what we wanted, told him about our trade and told him where our payment needed to be all over the phone. Within a hour he had the car pulled into the showroom, washed and gased up. We drove to the dealership and signed docs and out we drove in the exact car we wanted! Easy peasy! The most simple car buying process EVER! Ask for Art Vance and for service Faustino is AMAZING!

no appointment service easy to location and new building more convenient access...provide keys and waiting...sofa, remote and television...little over an hour wait for an oil change, but figure the extra care in free car wash took the bulk of the time...clean!..another visit for a dead signal bulb...finding out bulbs are not under warranty even for new cars...some discounts provided and another fantastic car wash...the few dollars worth the bulb and car wash...

I had my regular maintenance  service done today.  I was really pleased with the costumer service and When I picked up my car it was washed, nice and clean.  I have to complement Fausto the service manager, he took his time at end of the day and went over my invoice in detail.  I saw great improvement in services.   They had the shuttle drop me off, and offered to pick me up after work.   The new building looks great and clean and very modern.

I love good customer service.  Just saw the owner of this dealership and he remembered both my wife and my name (MONTHS after our purchase).  Small thing, but I give it points.  Never a problem when I've taken my car in for routine maint at this dealership.

We went in to drive and buy a VW Eos. We wanted a specific color. I told the sales person we would drive a reasonable distance to see a VW in the color we wanted if they tell us where to go and we would buy the car here. The sales manager's answer was he would not tell us where to look at the color unless we sign the deal. HOW STUPID CAN ONE MAN BE. I said we would buy if we like the color. He said buy and we will let you look at the color.  I will drive 60 miles to another VW dealer to buy before I go back to a dealership sales manager that is that stupid! Where is the owner??

Percy was an amazing salesperson with whom to work.  He worked hard to earn our trust and was a great go-between with the finance manager and the overall manager of the dealership.  Highly recommend working with Percy if you are looking to establish a strong relationship with VW of Palm Springs.  I have had my 2013 GTI for about a month and brought it in for the for 30-day service check-up today.  Was very impressed that he remembered me and took the time to say hello.

Our VW CC had a warning light come on over the weekend, we dropped it off on Sunday night after hours, so when service arrived Monday morning they could get it in quickly to diagnose the problem. Spoke with Faustino in service, he informed me of the issue, ordered the parts right away, and said it would be ready for pick up on Tuesday. He was very pleasant to deal with, and as he stated my car was ready by noon on Tuesday. I would recommend to anyone who has a VW in the valley, don't bother with I-10 VW go straight to Palm Springs VW, they have a great crew working there, Faustino will be our permanent service adviser in the future, since we are a VW family. Just bought a Convertible Beetle - 2013.  We got there, explained that we wanted to drive it, quickly Michael got the keys ready, showed my wife some simple operations... and we were off!  Got back, explained that I hate stupidity so we didn't want to go through any, they set us up with a Nationally Advertised deal, we like it, they approved us, got the car ready, we signed simple (but lengthy) paperwork, and we were shown to a room with our new car!  Michael was great, Tim was polite and funny, the owner even went to get our car full of gas!!  And the guys in the detailing area got our car very nice and clean/waxed.  As a past salesman of cars, I am proud to report that this dealership, if you are upfront and tell them right away that you don't want to put up with BS, will make your experience quick and non-irritating.  They get five stars.

Awesome Dealership!!!  I admit the outside temp was a little warm, but the personnel are friendly and fast. Not you're regular Car Dealer. The work to get you in and out in a timely manner. My vehicle purchase was very convenient. Devion Brown was my guy. He was very patient, and very well mannered. Devion knew his job. He asked the right questions to make the sale. Never have I had such a GREAT car buying experience! Not only was my sales guy Mike C professional, you could tell he took pride in his job and the product he was selling. The car has so many features and really provided the safety and look for an awesome price. They also do a 30 day follow up and check your car which has never been offered by any other automaker I have purchased from. Jarard took care of me that day and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with their service. All I can say is I was REALLY IMPRESSED and would definitely recommend anyone to the Palm Springs VW team knowing they would be taken care of.
