Reviews on Tucson Subaru

I was surprised to see this dealership had only 3.5 stars. I went in the middle of the weekday one day only and it was packed. The salesperson told me it was like the 3rd or fourth busiest dealership in the city. Surprised me being that they sell AWD cars in AZ.

Anyway, I had a completely different experience with Trent than a previous reviewer did. I called him in the Fall from Scottsdale and didn't end up making it down there til like February. He emailed me every so often but not excessively. He had my phone number but never abused it (or gave it out) which he said he wouldn't.

Upon meeting him (with an appointment) he was busy and got me the keys and let me play around in the car while he went on a test drive with a customer. That helped me learn a bit about the electronics of a car that was far different than the one I had.

I told him I had an appointment back in the Phoenix area and couldn't stay long.
He got me my numbers in writing, explained them, didn't introduce me to extraneous people I didn't need to meet and even emailed me the following day to drop another $1K off the price. I was appreciative of his time and maybe even more so after, while visiting a local dealer in Tempe and getting the runaround and my time wasted.

Being that it was a used car that wasn't a Subaru he was also quite knowledgeable about it. My mom loves Subies. If she was ever in the market of replacing hers, I would make the hour-plus drive to this place again.

1:30 appt for oil change, now its 3:15 and not done yet.  Why schedule appts if you can't commit to them?

Excellent experience with Wendy and the Service department. Had a dash rattle that was very difficult to localize. They didn't give up and they made me feel like the cared and they valued me as a customer. Got it fixed. Very nice to work with. Thanks!

Love the new location and the amenities in the service waiting area! Nice internet station, free wi-fi, beverages and snacks, excellent experience!

We loved our Subaru so much, we bought two!! Be sure to ask for Bob Wilson, best salesman- very funny and personable!

Thank you Rocky for upgrading the Subrau experience!

Best, The Schulz Family

Great location, flashy and new. However, I read the reviews and was a bit leery about this place, but it's the only Subaru place around.

Sure enough, I walked in on a weekend day and no one greeted me, not even the two receptionists who were talking to each other and didn't even look at me. I walked around the showroom and the only person who talked to me at all was another customer. The sales guys sat gabbing in the manager's office.

And I drive a Subaru! Hint: I might sell mine and get a new Subaru! But no, no one helped me. I can see why this place gets such poor reviews. Stay away from this place, buy online or Costco or in Phoenix, but do not buy here!

Had the visor clip break on my outback. Ordered the part which came in in two days. They called to say it was in I called the service dept and asked if they could install it that Saturday. They said they were busy but would fit me in. I got there talked with a mr Ford who took the info. I went into the waiting area got my coffee and before it was cool enough to drink they were done   Wowser great job

My wife and I purchased our first Subaru, a Tribeca in 2009 from Emich Subaru, still have the car today and still love it and have had only normal maintenance for a car with 90,000 miles. Then we purchased a Outback from Tucson Subaru, with all the bells and whistles. I cannot count how many times that I rated Subaru  "Truly Exceptional." At 22,080 miles I notice that my drivers seat is wearing out on the seam, I am still under warrenty, I take the car back to Tucson Subaru and they tell me that they will recover the seat one time and one time only, No new seat  but a cover, then the questions start arising, what will I do at 40,000, probably the same covering will not be available when the cover wears out for a second time and Subaru will not cover it. I will say this, I not only had a warranty, but an extended warranty. I was told by the factory rep. that Subaru does not cover wear and tear. Keep in mind all I did was get in and out of the the car and the only reason that I was getting a new cover is because Tucson Subaru was wiling to give me a cover, and not the factory. Now if I had cut the seat or tore the seat, I would look at it different. Bottom line is when I needed Subaru to stand behind there product, they were not there for me when  I needed them the most and my two warranties meant nothing. After all of this and waking up in the middle of the night heart broken and feeling totally dumped, not being able to sleep and months later, still having the same feelings, I would NEVER buy another Subaru.

Worth the trip!

We were looking for a Crosstrek with features & color that turned out to be available on only one vehicle in the state (!). Our local dealer had jerked us around in the past and the one who had the car has a questionable reputation, so we called Trent (from whom we'd bought a used Suby a couple of years ago) to see if he could get it for us. Not only did he do that, he gave us a great price and great value on our trade-in -- more than I know I would have gotten from my low-balling local dealer. So once again, Trent made it worth driving 200 miles from Prescott to buy a car. (A bit too far for the free oil change, though :-) )

"But wait, there's more...."  When we decided to buy the car, we were pleased to learn we were entitled to a $500 "loyalty" rebate by trading in another Suby. Then when it came time to close the deal, we were dismayed to discover that the rebate might not be available after all because the dealer we'd bought it from hadn't filed the necessary paperwork  with Subaru of America! Trent went to bat for us with SOA and got us the rebate -- so even after the deal he earns your business.

It should be noted that my experience was only with the salesman Trent, and I have no other experience with anyone else that works there. That said, Trent was the quintessential stereotypical car salesman that everyone hates to deal with.

When talking on the phone, Trent would constantly interrupt me to tell me what I wanted. When I told him I found cars that were much cheaper at another dealership, he said that he would price match if I showed him an offer. Once I showed him the offer, he went on to say that "those cars don't exist".  Once I told him I would be taking my business elsewhere, he proceeded to send a text to my personal cellphone saying that I was making a big mistake.

As I said before, I can't comment on anyone else that works there, but my experience with Trent was lacking to say the least, and Trent was completely unprofessional.

I wanted to let you all know about how pleased I have been, not only with my 2014 Subaru Outback, but also with all of the terrific service I have received since walking into the showroom last September.
Rudy Burneo was our salesman and he did a fantastic job of really hearing our wants and needs and finding the perfect vehicle for our lifestyle.
I recently had my car serviced at the new location, and Wendy (in Service) was so awesome that I went back in today because I got a new cell phone and was going nuts trying to get it connected to my car Blue Tooth.  When I walked in, Wendy stopped what she was doing and walked outside, got in my car with me, and stayed until we confirmed that the Blue Tooth was connected and that all my questions were answered.  She made my day!  It was wonderful to feel confident that I could pop in and get my problem resolved, and she did that and more!
Thanks to Tucson Subaru and folks like Rudy and Wendy I will never own anything but a Subaru!
