I called here to schedule an appointment to have a repair done to my Jetta. When I arrived for my appointment the service advisor told me that they hadn't even ordered the part that was needed for my repair. The day I scheduled my appointment they said they were ordering the part. The service advisor said they would order the part and call me back to schedule a time to repair my car. He took down my number and then never called. I was never rude at any time when I was here. I've been taking my Jetta to the dealership on camelback for years and have never had a problem. I live in north Scottsdale and this was closer to my house so I thought I would give them a try. Unfortunately I will never go back.

I've been a customer with VW North Scottsdale for over 7 years and from the sales process to service its been great, however my latest experience with the sales person "Chuck", was one of the most unpleasant, unresponsive and unhelpful ever encountered. Amazing how a place can get such differing reviews.  Oh well, my review is for car buying and the experience here was terrific.  My wife and I were in the market for a used low mileage EOS or maybe Beatle.  After driving with me for a good long test drive Alex Benson, my sales consultant, realized that I might consider the BMW 650i that was on the lot. This car was definitely not low mileage but it was much more the car that fit our personalities if I could live with 65k miles.  The price was several thousand dollars below other similar cars and 65k on a BMW just isn't that much. The car had a very clean car fax and was very clean itself.  He was just right in suggesting this car and we wound up buying it and are very very happy.  No pressure applied anywhere in the process.  Alex handled everything very professionally.  Although we did meet the "guy in the back" that I always think of as the pressure  guy at car dealerships even he gave us no pressure. They simply gave us the facts, listened to what was important to us and worked hard to accommodate.  I'd very much recommend VW of North Scottsdale and Alex Benson.

I was led to this dealership by the Yelp reviews......I want to write my own review to validate what everyone else is saying.  We worked with Eric Watson.  This was absolutely one of the best car buying experiences we have ever had.  Eric and the team worked hard to find us (our son) a perfect solution.....we felt like we were working with an objective car consultant vs. a typical car salesman.  At the end, we had actually locked-in on a new vehicle when Eric found a better used car for us at a lower price.....he was only concerned about meeting our needs, not just the dealership's needs.

We have received a couple followup calls from Eric and management....they are the real deal....the car is perfect, the deal was awesome and you walk away feeling like you have made some new friends!!

I bought my Jetta at VW North Scottsdale in 2009 and have been taking it there for service ever since. My car has 122,0000 miles on it now (I bought it at 9,000) and I have never had ANY problems with it (to the point where it's almost weird but who's complaining?).

I attribute my car's great health record the the service dept at VWNS. I have never felt like they lied about needing any maintenance, and their prices have always been fair. My car is always ready to be picked up within a few hours after drop off (after a quick courtesy wash) and Harry the shuttle driver is always very sociable an prompt driving me back and forth to work.

For about 4 years, Jeff Porter was my trusted / awesome service advisor and then, as good employees should be, he was promoted to service manager and I was bummed to be advisor-less. But it was fine because the super convenient express lane was all I needed for oil changes. Alas recently, I needed new tires and a 120,000 mile service, and therefore needed a new advisor. Eric was assigned to me and he did not disappoint.

Since my car buying experience was so long ago I cannot remember all of the details but I do remember the saleswoman who I ended up buying the car from (who I still see there occasionally) was very straightforward and friendly.

My whole 5 year experience with VWNS has been wonderful and I would recommend this dealership to anyone looking to buy or service a VW.

Pinch me. I have had an exceptional car buying experience. We stopped by after walking away from another dealership in the middle of paperwork. I had no intention of getting a VW (truth be told, I thought it would be beyond my price point). We were promptly greeted by our sales guy, Michael Thomas, who has outstanding customer service skills and is a great listener.

We described what we were looking for and emphasized our price point and he led us right to a car that met the criteria. From there, it came down to finding "the perfect car." Michael was patient and even allowed us to drive multiple vehicles as we compared the options.

It must be a fun place to work: his fellow co-workers came together to get some great options out there for us as well -- a friendly competition that in no way felt  targeted at us (the customer).

The entire experience was super low pressure -- in fact, we left for a bite to eat and to think about the pricing and when we called back close to closing time to assure them we were still interested but were still at the restaurant there was no urgency. We just pushed the negotiating to the next day.

Michael has greeted me by name every time I've returned to the dealership: for paperwork, to take delivery or to have them do a biosweep to get the faint smell of smoke out of the car ( that only I and other former smokers could pick up on and; which, so far as I can tell, was really effective!).

It truly has been a great experience. I'm super happy with my purchase so far and I've already referred someone to the dealership!

(P.S. I like to tease him that he's such a good salesman he was able to sell a sun devil red car to a wildcat! ;)'s actually quite literal, though!)

Strangely enough I am glad we left this dealership to last to visit. We had looked at many other vehicles prior to stopping in at VW and. If we had gone there first we would probably never have gone to the others at all! I am glad we did however, as it makes me even more sure I made the right selection. The service was so relaxed, easy and comfortable. We were given all the information we needed, no trying to push us to something we did not want, an easy process to test drive the vehicle and the deal was wrapped up so easily and quickly! Truly kept the buying experience easy, exciting and worry free, none of that feeling "is there something they are not telling me or something I need to be asking". I have been working with Tukk at this location for the past decade and purchased five cars from him. Tukk is the man! Volkswagens are the best cars you can buy for less than $25,000 and these guys make the experience of buying and owning one the way it should be - fun. This was my first time getting a car for myself.  Nate, a recommendation from a family friend back home, was extremely welcoming and helped us get the ball rolling.  Despite his busy schedule, Nate took the time to sit down with us and answer any questions after the test drive as well.  Ross was informative and comforting to both myself and my parents as this was a big new step for all of us.  He made sure I new how the service center worked, and even walked me through the area before sitting in my new car to go through the basics with me.  Everyone was more than friendly, and any nerves I had about this process in the morning quickly vanished.  I left with a handful of new phone numbers,  was encouraged to call any of them if I have questions or need any sort of help, and got tips for driving and taking care of my car in the desert, It feels good to have gotten such great service after moving so far from home.  I am so very happy with my purchase, and I look forward to enjoying my new Jetta!

Scheduled my car for warranty work last Wednesday. After a diagnosis, the mechanics called back and said they would need another day or two to have VW techs review the error codes and then test drive as they appeared to be stumped. They promised everything would be ready by Friday. I told them to take their time as I would be out of town over the weekend and would just pick it up Monday morning.

Upon arrival Monday morning, it was evident they weren't prepared. Some people asked around and then finally said "Oh, we've just got to gas it up and give it a wash, shouldn't been more than 20-30 minutes." Already I was a little annoyed, but whatever, at least they were going to fill up the tank after the test drives. I didn't mind a small delay for the free gas. Well a half hour passed and still nothing. I approached the desk again, and they assured me it would be any minute. I said great, I'll wait outside in the driveway....

Another 30 minutes pass (I'm now late for work) and still nothing. Once again, I went inside to ask, and they assured me that they are really close. Finally, almost an hour and a half after arriving, the guy comes back with my car and says "I'm sorry, my card wouldn't work for diesel gas, but I can have somebody else run out and get it." At this point I just asked him to give me the keys and ran to work.

Although I was never consulted by the mechanic, I'm assuming they fixed the error on the car, but time will tell. The work order was really vague. Overall not a great experience as it caused me to be late for work, didn't provide any clarity on repair, and they made me wait 90 minutes for a fill up that never happened. 2 starts instead of 1 because they did wash it which was nice.

I bought my 2011 GTI here last January and it was hands down the BEST car buying experience I've ever had! Customer service was top notch and the sale was quick and hassle free! For once I didn't feel like I was being jerked around by a salesperson!

The service center has done all of my routine maintenance, and I've always been pleased with the work, which is always performed in a timely manner. The only issue I've ever had with the service department was due to a simple miscommunication, and it was quickly resolved by Eric when I expressed my confusion. At first I felt very put off by the whole situation but Eric was quick to contact me to resolve the matter. That to me, is the epitome of solid customer service. I started at Camelback Volkswagen and felt very pressured and pushed into a vehicle I did not want., and offended by their selling tactics. My significant other had previously leased a vehicle from your dealership and was very pleased with the experience.My experience with North Scottsdale started by calling and speaking with Kevin G about a particular car I was interested. I came to see the vehicle and Kevin was not available, however Chuck assisted me and was awesome! I felt very at ease and comfortable in speaking with Chuck and felt he was giving me accurate and truthful information. I did not purchase this day as I had wanted my significant other to also be involved in the process., however I felt much better at your dealership and was really impressed with how well I felt about how I was treated.I  decided this weekend to come in lease the car I wanted. I had called Chuck and told him we would be coming soon. When we got there, a little early,he was with another customer and Kevin assisted us. Kevin was very knowledgeable about Volkswagens and the specific car that I wanted. We had been given  a quoted price and asked if we could make the (lease) payment a bit lower. Kevin came right back with what we asked. I was a little shocked how painless it was! Then we were off to finance where Mac/Matt was fantastic. He had us laughing and joking the whole time and it wasn't the typical pain as I have previously experienced. I felt he was very forthcoming with information and made sure everything made sense before moving on. It really was a nice surprise to have such a pleasant  experience, I was not expecting this. Kevin delivered the vehicle and was great! He was funny, educated, informative, just really awesome overall service.  I am still in awe of how easy and painless this was, all while still making us feel like we got  a fair deal. This was definitely the easiest car buying experience I have ever had. Chuck, Kevin and Matt seriously provided the best experience , I could not have imagined a better outcome, excellent job guys!

I was in the market for a used car, and found VW to be the manufacturer I wanted to key in on.  I worked with James Hedland who is part of their internet team.  James was helpful but not pushy, I felt like he really wanted me to get a car that fit me, not one that they wanted to "get rid of".  I got a call several days after I had stopped by to look at cars, and he said he had one come in that was perfect for me.  I told him I did not want to mess around, if I was going to get the car, I wanted to be in and out in under 2 hours.  I got to the dealership and James had everything ready to go.  Within minutes I test drove the car, and when we got back the process took off.  Loan was approved, trade-in evaluated, paperwork was signed (no pushing from finance for add-on crap that know one really wants anyway), quick review of the car, and I was off the lot and headed home.  I think it ended up being 2 hours and 9 minutes, but I was happy.  This by far has been the easiest most enjoyable car buying experience I have ever had.

Amazing staff. Awesome experience leasing a new vehicle. Van was on top of emailing me prior to entering the store and was quick to respond to my emails to him. He even let me know when the car I was interested in purchasing had sold. When I came in Van was not there. Tukk came to help me and introduced me to the lease experience. He explained everything thoroughly and was extremely patient with me. We bought our VW Routan from VW North Scottsdale and had such a great experience (man, shopping for cars is a LONG process.) The sales lady was so kind, patience and very professional. Loved even the little touches, like hot popcorn being popped for those waiting on paperwork. Very clean dealership. Only suggestion I can think of is there is one girl, super tall who dressed very inappropriate  - high heels and a tiny, super tiny, super short skirt. It was obvious she was trying to use her looks to sell cars which we found VERY tacky. Otherwise, awesome experience.

I leased and then purchased my 2010 Eos from this dealership. David Bonnano helped us both times and he was truly awesome.

One evening his past December,  my coolant light went on and I didn't know what to do. I called the service department and spoke with Josh. We had a wonderful experience yesterday purchasing my first vehicle, a 2012 Volkswagen Tiguan. Our friendly service representative was Dave Bonnano.
My husband and I were researching certified pre-owned cars the night before, and a pre-owned vehicle at this dealership popped up. One day later, we were in the store purchasing the vehicle.
It is in beautiful shape, practically a new car with only 7,000 miles. We are thrilled with our purchase.
Some things that made our experience stand out:
*Each of us were able to take a test drive
*They have a college grad program at Volkswagen for financing (which we didn't end up needing), but it was still a cool feature
*A nice area to wait upstairs
*Once we purchased the car, they gave it a bubble bath to make it really shine, plus gave it a full tank of gas
*We got a freebie from the Volkswagen store, which was a cool bonus!
*The financial side of things went very smoothly, no hiccups and we were able to get the price we wanted

I highly recommend Volkswagen North Scottsdale. We would definitely purchase a car there again, and Dave really took care of us!

I have so many good things to say about my experiences here I don't know where to begin.  I bought my Sportwagen TDI from Camelback VW because that dealership was affiliated with Costco.  I got a good price, but the experience was unpleasant and my first service experience there was catastrophically bad, causing me to seek out another dealership.  

To date, VW North Scottsdale has performed the 10k, 20k, 30k, 40k, and DSG service on my car, as well as some warranty work.  Each experience has been phenomenal.  Tom Radtke is my service rep, and he is AWESOME.  There's no other way to say it.  He is super pleasant to speak with, has great follow through and communication, and actually listens to what I tell him about my car.  You will never be disappointed with Tom.

To give a little context to my review:  I had an Audi and a Mercedes before my VW, and the level of service offered by Tom and VW North Scottsdale eclipses that of the nearby Audi and Mercedes dealerships.  I consider myself car enthusiast and I historically do most of the work on my cars myself (timing belt changes, control arm replacements, brake jobs, transmission services, etc.).  I know my way around a car and I know when something is not working correctly.  

The typical experience when you present a car problem to a dealer or independent is dismissal, unless it is something completely obvious, like a front end collision.  If it is a complaint that the service provider is not familiar with, you are dismissed as paranoid or irrational.  For example, I had an issue with my car shortly after purchase and had it towed to Camelback VW.  I was subsequently treated with condescension and mockery, and charged nearly $300 to fix the problem.  Recently, Tom and his crew diagnosed this very same problem as a warranty issue and fixed it, at no cost to me.  It was a completely different experience.

I initially brought my car to the VW dealership because the first three services are free.  I continue to take my car to Tom at VW North Scottsdale and pay for it because they do such a fantastic job.  VW North Scottsdale presents such good value and makes the service experience so pleasant I would now prefer to pay them to service my car rather than do the work myself.

Tom has always been my contact at VW North Scottsdale and I cannot say enough good things about him, but I also want to say his crew who does the actual work on the car is awesome too.  Collectively, they make a great team.

The battery on my 2012 VW Jetta died unexpectedly and was also up for the 30K service. I brought the Jetta in without an appt and needed to have the battery and service done in a hurry (I was sick and needed to see my Dr that morning). VW of N Scottsdale was able to replace my battery and also do the 30K service in under 2hrs. I was very happy with the quick turn around and the friendliness and understanding of the service reps and cashier. I would always recommend VW's to friends and VW N Scottsdale as the place to go to buy and for service :)

Craig is very knowledgeable & was very patient throughout my car buying process with me. I never felt that I was pressurized to buy the car.

I had set up an appointment with Craig and had talked over the phone as to what I was looking for. When I arrived at the dealership, I was greeted very professionally and the cars were ready for me to test drive. That saved me a lot of time & it showed it to me that Craig is sincere & know what he is saying.

I normally go to Peoria Volkswagen. This time, I was in the area and thought id stop in here for an oil change.

They are 69.99 vs 59.95 at Peoria.  That is a 16% difference in cost. I guess that scottsdale address lets them charge more for the same service. I thought I'd give them a chance so I inquired about brakes and a random interval service. They are still 20% higher.

I'm all over the area so the difference in distance doesn't matter to me. And for those of you that can get to Peoria, I'd spend money there first.

I've been a GTI owner for 10 years now. Working with the folks at VW North Scottsdale was great.  Van in particular was our sales rep.  My wife and I had a number of technical questions that Van was able to answer right away.  Its obvious that these are not just sales people but also car people.  We were treated with respect at all times and also had a lot of fun.  Bought a TDI Sportwagen to replace our gas guzzling SUV.  If you are a car enthusiast go see Van.

I recently needed some work done on my 2004 Passat. I have been to this location a few times before for a assortment of repairs but over the past week they truly helped me. First my battery died and I took it to Volkswagen North Scottsdale and Tom Radtke was the Service representative that took care of me. I expressed my need to have my car asap and even though they were fully booked for that day Tom made sure to squeeze my car in and had it back to me in a matter of hours. Later that week my check engine light or MIL light came on, I made an appointment Monday morning to see Tom again for the new issue. He was extremely helpful and made sure to get back to me as soon as possible to keep me informed about what needed to be done on my car. I have received extremely consistent customer service at this location in the Service Department. I truly appreciated the high level of service I received from Tom, and while I hopefully won't be back too soon for more repairs I now have a trusted person and location I can go to! I had the chance to stop in here when I was on my way back to Los Angeles from Sedona AZ.  Although I didn't actually buy a car, the experience was so delightful I simply HAD to write something.  

The store was clean and even had a vintage VW Bus on the showroom floor, very clean and super cool!  The staff was really nice and even encouraged me to bring my dogs in.  That was awesome!  They had a water bowl and everything!

I also LOVED LOVED LOVED that they did a Harlem Shake video.  You gotta love a staff of people who can be professional but also let their hair down and have some fun.

I'm going to be in the market for a new car soon and I will most definitely make the trip out to AZ to purchase from these knowledgable, fun folks!

I've owned 8 VW's and have been to at least that many different VW dealers in various parts of the country. This has been my favorite dealership so far. The service department has been quite good and overall I'm impressed with their car knowledge. I'm one of those super anal people who even with the free VW service I still do the oil changes that should give you an idea of how particular I am about my car.

Hands down the best car buying experience I have had in the last 15 years.  Our salesman, David Bonanno, was beyond helpful in getting us in the best car for our needs at an unbelievable price.  He listened to our wish list and we couldn't be happier with our new Passat.  David went above and beyond to make sure that the entire experience was positive, and all of the other employees at VWNS were just as helpful and friendly.  I can't say enough good about this dealership with regards to buying a car.  Great staff, great selection, and altogether a wonderful experience.  Thanks again, we would buy another car from this dealership in a heartbeat.

I'm in Tucson, but was willing to make the drive to Phoenix if the right car was available. What looked like the right car was posted at this dealership. I called and communicated I was in Tucson but interested in the car. The woman was very friendly and expressed this was a great find. There were four long shots of the exterior posted, but no interior shots. She worked to get me interior shots, which was appreciated. I spoke with the dealership three times - two of the three times I asked if there was any damage, etc., I should know about. Both times nothing specific was mentioned, so we made the two hour trek north.

When we arrived, we saw immediately that the car had a four inch gash on the back passenger door - like a car door had hit it - it was damage I would have expected to be mentioned during my previous conversations with them. I understood that I was buying a used car and was prepared for some dents, but this was deep. My husband  has rehabbed many cars and determined this would not be fixed by paintless dent repair - the dealership disagreed, but said they would not fix it. We called our friend who assesses auto body damage, explained the damage, and he said the repair would be in the $600-800 range. We suggested that they could adjust the price to accomodate us having to fix it.

The sales guy agreed that seemed reasonable and went to the finance guy. He came back with the full sales price. They said they had already spent $2,800 fixing it when they normally spend $1,800. We then asked what was wrong with it - they said they preferred to think of it as them fixing the problems for us (except the door). The two primary items they listed as having been fixed were the tires and the 40,000 mile inspection. Tires are expensive, no doubt, but not $2,800 expensive. And the car had 47,000 miles on it - meaning the previous owner went 7,000 miles over the due date for the inspection. This expense should not have been held against the new purchaser.

After some haggling, they offered $200 off. We walked ... then drove two hours home.

Glad I held out and found the perfect car elsewhere.

This is my 3rd VW in 4 years that I have purchased from David Bonnano and VW North Scottsdale.  In fact, I have sent numerous people there, including my husbands grandmother, to buy vehicles.  We have all had the same experience...AMAZING!  David is knowledgeable and easy to work with and really takes the "Id rather have a sharp stick in the eye" factor out of car buying.  This time, I had a vehicle (not a VW) that had been a thorn in my side for a while that I needed to trade and I wasnt really sure which way I wanted to go with the new purchase.  David helped me weigh my options and find the best path for me.  Chad and Tukk in finance were also fantastic!  Signing was a breeze!  And finally, Daniel the Sales Manager, did everything he could to make sure I got what I wanted for the price I wanted to pay!  I cannot recommend them fact, if there was a 6th star rating, I would have given it to them!

ASK FOR JAMES HEDLAND IN SALES HE IS THE BEST!!!!!!!! I am originally from NY so I bought my first VW there. THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE IN NY WAS HORRIBLE!!! And I swore I would never buy another vw again! James totally changed my mind! He was so full of knowledge and could answer all of my questions! The entire car buying service was easy and he knew exactly what I was looking for! I traded in my 2011 vw jetta "2.SLOW" as he would put it lol and leased the 2013 jetta 2.5! I originally wanted the GTI but it was out of my price range for monthly payments. So, he kept what was most important and worked everything I wanted including a monthly payment under 400.00! He is very passionate about his job and NOT ONCE did I feel obligated or ripped off! He worked with me for 3 solid days and must have come up with 10 different options for me! There is nothing but good things to say about James and VW North Scottsdale! I will be buying all my cars there in the future and HIGHLY RECOMMEND them! Plus your going to want to take a test drive in the GTI its awesome! Especially with James as a co-pilot!

I know, I've written a review before, but another month, another car :).  After picking up The Beetle I began feeling a hankering for another to replace another daily driver (Golf R32).  I contacted James and managed to arrive at an arranged range for my trade in, purchase price for the new beetle, and handled all the financing paperwork in a matter of a few hours with back and forth texts (it is 2012).  6 hours latter I arrived at North Scottsdale VW from San Diego to find the dealership open a little past closing to accommodate me and my brand new Beetle waiting in the show room.  James was beyond helpful and chipper which helped after a nearly 400 mile drive and had me through the purchase and finance process and into my new Beetle in less than half an hour.  WOW.  I wasn't even planning on adding another to the garage.

The next morning I returned to San Diego for a massive european car festival and a couple in line at a booth asked how I liked my Beetle and I commented I loved it and even didn't mind the drive the second time.  The woman smiled at her husband and remarked to me that they too were headed out to Arizona next week to purchase a white loaded beetle with red/black interior - the same one we grabbed not long ago.  When i asked why it was like talking to myself, poor dealer communication in San Diego, difficulty accessing an actual delivery date, unwillingness to move cars across state lines.  So that's at least three Beetle purchases from San Diego residents in Arizona because the customer service simply cannot be matched here.  If you're living in Arizona, or 400 miles away like me, Give Volkswagen North Scottsdale a call/email heck or a text.  Just be careful, you may find yourself making more unexpected trips because their customer service is second to none.

I searched the internet for the best deal on a used VW Jetta. My search took me to North Scottsdale VW. I was a little hesitant that they might not have the best deals because they are located adjacent to other, very upscale dealerships. This was not the case. I browsed around then I had a fun test drive with our salesman, Van. He really knew his product and he was a polite, professional guy. I didn't end up purchasing the car after that first drive, but Van kept in touch and informed me of a 2010 manual transmission Jetta that had just shown up on the lot. It had unbelievably low mileage and was in pristine condition. I went in to drive it and I loved it. Van and I were singing Judas Priest as I zipped down the road, shifting gears. I ended up purchasing that awesome little car. They even worked with me a little on the already low price. I still can't believe how little I paid for such a perfect ride. This is the second VW I have owned, unless you count my old Porsche 914...LOL! I love Volkswagen and they had a pretty nice vibe going on in that place, classic Dubs and all. Peace!

My review is based on the sales department.  I have to tell you right off the bat, I rather have a root canal then to step into any dealership and work with any car salesman.

We called ahead to see if the car was still available and wanted to test drive this used car.  We drove over 35 miles to this dealership to look at a specific car we found on Carscom.  We arrive and within 15 minutes, I am in the car testing driving it on the freeway.  

I really liked the car and Ricky, the sales associate was so professional, no pressure and laid back.  He wasn't trying to be a comedian or our best friend, it really was low pressure.  Press for time, we started to negotiate.  Now, the "manager" comes in, Daniel, same thing, no pressure and very professional.  He had all his facts, he asked, "What is it going to take to get you into this car?"  After a few minutes going back and forth .......I am now filling out loan applications.

Lucky for us the finance associate was still on the premise and Ricky already has paper work being submitted.  Tukk, the finance manager took care of everything, again very professional, he knew we were pressed for time and got all the paperwork completed and we were out the door in 2.5 hours.  They filled the tank with gas and washed the car and next thing I know, I am driving home.

The whole team Ricky, Daniel & Tukk were very professional and generally nice guys.  They did not pressure us, even though we were pressed for time, they offered us to take the car and come back that weekend to finish up the paperwork.  So unexpected with the whole experience.  They were a great team to work with.

P.S....I do have to come back to the service dept. to have a belt replace.  After reading some of the reviews.....I'm scared!  Stay tuned for my experience......

THE absolute worst new-car dealership service department in America! Strong words, let me take the time to explain.

Bought a brand-new (7 miles on odometer) silver VW Jetta here. Loaded with options, cost nearly $28,000. In the first week, the fuel filler door release failed while I was on lunch break from work while I was at the AirPark in Scottsdale. Immediately took the car over to this dealership, and sat awaiting a service advisor to help me. Finally, after about 30 minutes, I saw the guy that sold me the car in the showroom. I approached him and asked if I could get a service advisor to talk to me. The salesperson acted as if I was a maniac (he actually said to me "How do you know my name?" - he didn't remember selling me the freakin' Jetta the week before!!), but he walked into the back and found me a service person. The service advisor asked if I had an appointment, and of course I didn't. Then I was a treated like garbage. Well, you need an appointment for warranty work, I was told. Once I got this immature idiot service advisor to listen, I told him the car is brand new, and this is the very first time I've tried to put fuel into it - but the fuel filler door release switch isn't functioning! He rolls his eyes at me, walks me out to the car, has me open the trunk, where he pulls the side panel in the trunk loose, finds a cable that goes to the filler door, yanks it, and the fuel filler door pops open. He tells me that I need to schedule an appointment for warranty service, and walks back into the service entrance. Leaving me standing in the portico with a brand new defective Jetta. I am pissed, hop into the car, drive to the nearest station, and fill the tank with gas. Never ever buy or service a Volkswagen here.

My Jetta has been nothing but an electrical problem nightmare (aforementioned fuel release switch has been fixed twice, stereo fried itself 3 times, airbag sensors have failed twice and there are bogus warning lights on the instrument panel that come on and off all the time,) Also, the drivers door power window motor failed (burned out due to improper installation at VW's Mexico assembly plant....), and the sunroof is possessed - it opened all by itself on Loop 202 the other night.....

We found an immaculate Jetta TDI at this dealership and purchased it right away. Love our manual 5-speed, not too many miles, excellent gas mileage. After searching at several dealerships and finding adequate options, we decided on VW North Scottsdale primarily due to the sales consultant, James Hedland. James was high energy without being in your face. He showed us the ideal vehicle to suit our needs, also explained the numerous bells and whistles--some we may not have ever discovered on our own. We faced no pressure at this busy dealership. Looked to me like there were a lot of sales going on there.

It just occurred to me that I could review this dump...perhaps I was concentrating on restaurants.  Though it's been a while since I bought my Beetle, the bad taste in my mouth from these people will never leave.

All I wanted, ALL I WANTED was a warranty after the factory warranty went out.  And the guy could have offered me the options of a deductable or not.  But he didn't.  and I did not know about the deductable until after the factory warranty ran out.  By then, this liar had moved on to rip off people at other dealerships.

Service?  OH they're peaches, too.  A revolving door, you'll get the same service advisor about twice.  As bad as the salesmen.  "Are my parts are coming in?, I asked.  "NO PROBLEM" she said.  Until the car wasn't ready as promised and a car trip to Vegas had to be cancelled.

I would rather walk or take a bus than to deal with these people again.  Horrible, horrible merchants.

The service department is a bunch of scammers and rip off artists! I took my leased 2009 Jetta in for the free service at 30K miles. The service manager stated I had to have my brakes done because they were shot. He stated they were only meant to last to 28K. The sensor light wasn't on I explained. He said he checked and said I would only be able to go another week or two. I decided to wait instead of spend over $400. Well at 38K miles, the sensor wasn't on but I was real worried.  So I took the Jetta to my mechanic... Well don't ya just know it, I have 30% of my brake pad left in the front! No wonder the sensor light never went on. The brakes are just fine and those jerks at North Scottsdale Volkswagen are theives!
Don't listen to those liars in the service department, take your car to real mechanic. Next thing you know, service will start damaging your car just to drum up charges!

To say we received the 5 Star treatment from North Scottsdale VW that would not be accurate, more like 10 star, My wife and I have had a VW on order in California since April 2012, I know that VW has specific build dates in germany, and I was calling our California dealership monthly on progress, the dealership would not even return inquires. So, We looked on line and happen to find the car we had no order in Scottsdale.

Contacted by email and talked to James Hedland, who said they did indeed have the car we were looking for. Filled out the on line application for Credit with them and my Wife and I hoped on a plane to Scottsdale.

James actually picked use up from the airport in Phoenix and drove us to the dealership.  Are you kidding me?

Once there we went over the car with James and one small piece needed to be replaced, by the time we went to finance it was replaced. finance was a breeze.

James then took us out to the car and paired my wires phone to the bluetooth, set nav features, went over the basics answered questions, and set up our 60 day check up with our California service department.

We will be buying another VW next year and we will be making the trek back to North Scottsdale AZ. and buy another car from James H.  He had better still be working there :)

My only regret is that we live 300+ miles away or we would defiantly bring our car in for service with the Penske Group.

If you want to be treated like a human, with courtesy, and good conversation, buy your next car from James Hedland. at North Scottsdale VW.

Chuck Sansone was the perfect salesman for me. Friendly, kind, helpful, good knowledge of the car, great explanations on my many pricing questions. The first adjectives in there were especially necessary in getting me into a new car. I'd been to several other dealers and they were so aggressive and rude. They didn't even ask my name nor offer me their names- just "What are you looking for today?" straight off the bat. "I'm looking for a different salesman." So, I got the one I was looking for at VW North Scottsdale.
The trade in offer I got for my Saab was very good compared to other dealer/broker offers. The finance team worked well with my negotiations and questions. Everyone I worked with was considerate and knowledgable, which instills greater trust with me while doing deals. The negotiations took a few hours, but that was mostly because of me. The contract process was efficient and simple and my car was ready for me by the time I was done. Overall, a very pleasant experience with a great car at a great price.

This is a review of sales, I have not dealt with service except to meet our service advisor when we leased our new cars.

I stopped by to look at diesels, as the 13mpg I was getting and the 15mpg my wife was getting weren't cutting it, especially with rising gas prices... checked out a Passat and a used Audi that was in good shape. I've owned 3 VWs previously.

Came back with my wife after seeing what they had, and she decided instead of the Passat diesel she liked the Tiguan (well, really the Touareg diesel but it wasn't in our price range). Drove the Tiguan and the Passat diesel, then drove a CC and I fell in love with it.

The experience with our salesman, Van, was excellent. No pressure, and he was very laid-back, personable, and knowledgeable about the cars. His manager Daniel was also very nice and, even though I hadn't mentioned it, gave me a deal that was even better than the very low online price they had advertised on the CC - he stated it was due to some incentives and the 2013 models arriving.

So we ended up trading in a gas-guzzler on two leases, a Tiguan and a CC. The process was paperwork-heavy of course, but Nathan in finance had the stuff together so it was less crazy than it could've been. Then when all that was done, Van took the time to show us around our cars and really make sure we knew how to use many of the features that we probably never would've even realized the cars had.

Overall, this was a really good experience, and I definitely recommend VW North Scottsdale and, specifically, Van. I've bought new from a few different dealerships (mostly Japanese cars), and this was far and away my best (and least stressful and least pressure-filled) experience.

Great job David and Michelle! I had a great experience purchasing a used 2008 GTI from this dealership. When I buy a vehicle, I typically know exactly what I want, have fully researched it and have a form of payment already taken care of. I went to another dealership to look at a similar (although 1 year older vehicle) and had over 3 hours of my time wasted. This is after I told them that I knew exactly how much I wanted to pay and that if they couldn't make it happen, no hard feelings (we didn't even come close).
In my frustration, I hopped online and looked for another car. There was a one year newer (although with slightly less options) GTI that was certified pre-owned and was priced right. I met with David, who was very courteous, recognized that I already knew about the car and was ready to buy and just focused on getting the deal done. The car was exactly as described (flawless interior and perfect paint). It did have a few door dings, which we were able to get taken care of during the bargaining process.
Now for the best part. I bank with USAA and am a VERY loyal customer. I was equipped with a check that was ready to go and a 3.49% rate. David suggested I try their financing to see if I could save some money. He was straight forward in mentioning that unless I had stellar credit, it would be a waste of my time, but otherwise may be worth a shot. They came back with 2.5% rate! Needless to say, I am happy with the entire process. He didn't have to take the extra time to do this, since it was already close to closing time for the dealership.
Lastly, I should mention Michelle, the internet sales manner. She was courteous on the phone and knew about the car I was asking about. She was very helpful until David became available to complete the process.

I currently own my 3rd VW, a 2007 Eos which I bought from a family owned car lot La Seuer (great people) but when the battery died I took it to North Scottsdale VW for service out of convenience of proximity BIG MISTAKE!!  
1st:  I wasn't offered a courtesy car
2nd: I waited 3 days for them to procure information from me that I readily could have given them on day 1! So now I'm waiting 5 days for my car back
3rd: Totally rude and discourteous.  It's bad enough a VW battery cost $510 but dealing with a-holes makes it even worse!

My two experiences with this place deserve less than a star, but lucky for Volkswagen Yelp makes me give them one.  

I called to have service done on my Routan and clearly stated with the person taking the call I would need a rental car.  He made me aware no rental cars were available that week, but if I made my appointment for the following week I could get one with no trouble.  I gladly made the appointment, just to be disappointed the day of service (shocking).

The morning of my appointment the service guy took my car, had Avis come pick me up drive me to their rental location.  Once I got there I was told I had to pay for it myself.  Nice work, get the person stuck at Avis so their only choice is to rent.  EXCEPT FOR ME, I WON'T FALL INTO YOUR SNEAKY TRAPS!!  I walked back to Volkswagen and told them I just wanted my car back.  The service manager, who lacks any type of service, said that their onsite rental cars were not for people like me and whoever told me that was mistaken.  WOW great service!  Let's just say I'll never return.

Volkswagen of  North Scottsdale is a huge rip-off.  I took in my new 2010 Routan (purchased in February 2011) as the back door had come unhatched and flew up two times.  The second time it hit the garage door and broke the glass.  I had the glass repaired, but when I took the car in to VW North they told me that the glass particles had caused the rear hatch to break.  I told them the hatch was broken prior to the back glass breaking.  They told me Volkswagen of America would deal with the problem.  I then got an email from VOA and they said VW North Scottsdale diagnosis was that they could not help me with the repairs(over $700) as there was not a faulty latch but my human error that caused the latch to fail.  My insurance company said it must be reported as a collision which will raise my rates...AND I DID NOT CAUSE THIS TO HAPPEN.  This is a NEW CAR!  I feel totally ripped off but, from many online reviews, can see that VW North Scottsdale has a reputation for ripping customers off.  How I wish I would have bought a Volvo or Honda!!!

Be afraid, be very afraid.  They returned my car in an unroadworthy condition and then made up a series of ridiculous excuses for their negligence.  Too bad, because the cars are very nice but the ineptitude of their mechanics has driven me away from this dealership forever.

I've had two experiences at this dealer. The first was to test drive a GTI. The saleslady was professional and didn't put a lot of pressure on me. However I could see that her managers were not so nice.

The second experience was to look at a used 2010 Infniti EX35. It was advertised as being in "perfect condition".  When we got there, no salesman greeted us. But we saw the used cars parked along one side of the lot so we helped ourselves.  The Infiniti was a shock. There was a HUGE horizontal crack on the windshield on the driver's side.  It ran 2/3 of the way across the windshield!!!  How do you see to drive with a big giant crack in front of you?

The rest of the car as filthy. Clearly it has not been taken care of considering that it was only a 2010 with low miles. The interior was dirty. Worst yet, the rear bumper paint was all dinged and scratched.

This car would need thousands of dollars of repair to get it back to decent shape. And here they were advertising it as being in "perfect" shape. Riiiiight LOL!!!

Then we looked at some of their other cars. They were in lousy shape too!  They had a 328i BMW with a dent in the C pillar. How do you get an above waist high dent in the C pillar? And why don't you just had the dent fixed? It's not hard to fix at those paintless dent repair places.

So overall I'm NOT impressed with this dealer. I'm glad I don't have to get a car serviced here.

I debated adding a star because they helped me push my car onto a tow dolly so I could take it someplace else, but ultimately I can't.  Thanks for that, by the way.  

They failed to give me a real quote before doing a bunch of work that in turn failed to fix my car.  Again, not exactly a happy experience.  Labor cost here is just insane, and I'm pretty sure they inflated it this time as well.  Not cool, guys.
