Management called me to state they do not sell customer info.  I'll bring the review back up to 3 stars but won't go higher due to previous problems with their service department.

Jeeps galore! Nice facility! John Compston is a bellend.

To be fair, I was a bit of a cock as well. However, customers are allowed to be roosters when spending $40,000. I found great jeeps, decent selection, and inconsistent  service.

I would go back to this place, but I would definitely use a different salesperson. I know that all is fair in war. I don't take it personally, but I do take it professionally.

Facts you would like?
"$600/month is invoice" he claimed.
Total bullshit, I knew for a fact that the figures he offered me were bogus. My intelligence was insulted... I told him I wanted his bottom dollar, the lowest offer he could make.
"I'm going to take this price and shop around..."
"This is the best price you can give me?" I said.
The poor guy started getting pissy as his anxiety escalated. He didn't like me, which is exactly what I wanted. But I refuse to negotiate with the customer service you would expect from the Birmingham city parking meter people. I know you don't want to give me the "bottom dollar" but I don't care.

After leaving his office with a mutual "go to hell attitude." The sales manager picked up the slack. He gave my associate the correct "bottom dollar" price that was needed.

He should have understood that he wasn't getting any commission, but they might get closer to a quota. They also would score big customer service points and get a great review on Yelp. It didn't work.

Although the place isn't bad overall, and I would consider returning. I would go straight to a volume dealership next time if possible. Ps next time is this weekend... Review to follow.

**Update: I have updated a review of this business based on my experience with it's primary competition. I MUST increase their review to 3 stars based on said experience.

Basically, honestly, truthfully? I don't want to say it, but it's not bad compared to Hendricks.

I recently purchased a new Jeep Grand Cherokee from Benchmark. There were a couple of things which needed repair (loose door handle). I made an appointment to take the car in for this quick service. Benchmark had my car for 3 full days. They never called to explain why the service was taking an excessively long time. I was extremely disappointed. I do not recommend having you car serviced here, especially if you e anticipate needing your car at any time that week.

I went in to Fiat of Birmingham within the last couple weeks to have my oil changed and tires rotated and 16 point inspection and fluids replenished.  When I arrived, Mr. Morgan said that they did not have a technician on duty and since he knew I lived over an hours drive away and did not want to ask me to come back another time, he sent me right over a hop skip and a jump to Benchmark Chrysler Jeep Dodge to get the work done.  When we first pulled up the poeple already knew we were coming and we received valet service at the front door!!!  We got to wait in a beautiful waiting area with plenty of fresh coffee and GREAT wifi.  They had my car ready in a VERY reasonable amount of time.  Nice folks!

I have bought three vehicles from this dealership (2006 Jeep Commander, 2008 Dodge Ram, 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited), and every experience has been great.  Whether it's been Doug Sweet, Wendell Patterson, or John Compston, they all made it easy to do business.  

Service is always a piece of cake, as I can call or schedule my appointment online.  And the service department is always friendly and typically gets my vehicle in and out of service pretty quickly.

The dealership facility itself rivals that of a luxury dealership, and the wireless Internet makes it easy to get work done while I'm waiting for my vehicle to be serviced.

I highly recommend for sales or for service.  No sleezy car sales tactics, and no BS from service.
